The entire experience - from the booking, to the arrival, to the house itself - was absolutely exceptional. Simon and Melina went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Amaliapolis is an exquisite historic village. This house, high above, offers spectacular views, wonderful accommodations, and every possible amenity you'll need. Your also moments away from some of the best seafood you'll ever enjoy at Mr. Nikos Repakis's restaurant on the waterfront. I couldn't be more thrilled.

My daughter (4) and I stayed at Simos' house for 11 nights. The house is stunning: spacious, decorated with artist taste, so light and beautiful.... The view onto the sea and the mountains is breathtaking, indeed! And you can even overlook the sea from the couch in the living room.... The kitchen is fabulous and we felt "at home" instantly. Amaliapoli is a very cute town with a very friendly atmosphere. We loved the live music at nights! The beach is small and was quite crowded, but that was no surprise in August. The water was crystal clear and perfect for small children. We had a fabulous time - thank you! And thank you Melina for taking care of us during our stay! We hope to come back one day. This is an exceptionally stylish and beautiful house that has been designed, decorated and furnished with great artistic flair and creativity. As well as looking great it is also spacious, cool and very comfortable. The view from the terrace is wonderful; at night we loved seeing the lights of the Pelion villages on the mountainside opposite. It's a short walk downhill to the village centre where there are two tavernas, a gyros place, a couple of cafe-bars and some small shops. One of the tavernas puts tables out on the jetty at night which is a very romantic. For a better range of shops and for an ATM you need to go to Almyros, about 30 minutes away by car. We did not use the village beach which we found very disappointing as it was tightly packed with sunbeds and the two beach bars blasted out loud pop music. There is a small, quiet rocky cove a few minutes walk away but although there is access to the sea via steps and a tiny strip of sand there is no beach you can sit on, though you can sit under trees above the rocks on some rather prickly grass. We drove to the small, pretty beach at Pigadi Loutra but we did not stay there as the bar across the road was blasting out deafeningly loud "techno" music which could be heard all over the beach. The owner of the neighbouring taverna said it was losing him custom but the bar owner refuses to lower the volume. At Nies beach the two kantinas were also playing loud pop music, though when we arrived at lunchtime we were almost the only people there and they did kindly turn the music off until late afternoon when the beach got more busy and the music went back on. We were disappointed that in this area all the beaches suffer from noise pollution and we could not find a natural beach environment with just the sound of the waves and the cicadas and kids playing. It didn't spoil our stay as we had just finished a 2 week road trip and we were happy to spend a lot of time relaxing in the house. We would highly recommend Simos's lovely house but do be aware that you will not find quiet peaceful beaches, at least not in the summer season.
