I had a wonderful experience staying at Trey's place for a full week. The home is very conveniently located on the border of Mission Hills and Hillcrest, yet it is in a very residential area, so it's plenty quiet when you are looking to relax and get a good night sleep.
The home is an older home, with basic amenities, but let's face it...the reason why most people book through AirBnb is because they are hoping to save money on overpriced hotel fees, where they charge you for much fancier amenities that you typically don't use. The room at Trey's place has access to a private bathroom, and also included a mini-refrigerator right in the bedroom, which is convenient for storing groceries and soft drinks.
Undoubtedly the best part of staying at Trey's place was the host himself, and his co-host, who is also his brother. Trey and his brother could not have been any nicer, or more accommodating. They allowed me to store my bags at the house on the morning of my arrival, while the room was being cleaned, and also let me store them there on the day I left, as I had an evening flight. They offered to drive me places around town, even though I love to walk, and I chose to travel to most places on foot. They also changed my bedding midway through the week, and very kindly offered me full access to their kitchen and their food, even though I did some light grocery shopping myself. One morning as I was getting ready to head out for the day, they made me a delicious smoothie, and whenever they were cooking, they offered to make me a plate, even though I typically had dinner plans on my own.
Overall, I had an excellent stay at Trey's place, and they were such nice guys to talk to during the week. I don't think you will be disappointed if you stay here.
