Nestled within the beautiful countryside and hills of the Vicentine Coast Natural Park, and just a 2 minute drive from the beach (Praia da Amoreira), this house, garden, and surrounding property of cork oaks and olive trees will help you unwind.
There are two houses on the property: one main house (sleeps 4) and one guest house (sleeps 3), surrounded by a garden. As a guest, you will have access to the main house and, if needed (4+ guests), to the guesthouse as well. The two houses are never rented out separately. So you will always have the entire property to yourself.
The main house:
- 2 bedrooms
- 1.5 bathrooms (shower & bathtub)
- a common living area with an enclosed fire place
- a fully equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, tea kettle, etc.).
- washing machine and dryer
- direct access to the patio w/ outdoor seating, loungers,
- swimming pool (8 meters).
All windows are equipped with mosquito screens.
- 1 bedroom
- 1 bathroom (shower)
- a basic kitchen
- living room with sleeper sofa, TV, and fireplace
For your (your kids) entertainment, there are board games, lots of books books, Legos, beach toys, a Bluetooth speaker, a DVD player and satellite TV (German and some English). But who needs those anyway when one of the nicest beaches in southwestern Portugal is just a 2-minute drive away?
While the house is surrounded by a garden (great with kids), most of the property is left to cork oaks, olive trees, and stone pines. Feel free to walk around and explore.
Tired of hyper-connectivity? No problem. Given its remote location, the house has no direct internet access. However, depending on your phone and carrier, you should be able to establish 4G/LTE data connections while at the house.
Towels and sheets are provided.
Atención a los huéspedes
Unfortunately, I cannot spend your vacation with you (bummer, I know). This is because 1) I will be far, far away working my daily job and 2) I want to give you the quiet and private space that you deserve. While you can always reach me via phone or email, and while there are local property managers who look after the garden and pool, perform minor repairs, and clean the house prior to/after your stay, you will - by and large - be on your own. Therefore, please only consider if you are OK with this type of individualist, self-reliant vacation.
Otros aspectos destacables
- While the place stays generally true to its listing-title in that it's very quiet at the house and surrounding area, you will - inevitably and occasionally - hear cars going to the beach. This is especially true for the months of July and August when locals and other tourists flock to the coast (yes, you may be the closest of all to the beach, but you will still have to share it) :-)
Official Rental License No.: 30757/AL -------- don't book an Airbnb in Portugal unless you spot this number in the listing. Chances are that it's "unofficial", which might make it a little cheaper (tax savings for the owner), but poses the risk of you losing your reservation later on due to its illegal status. Instead, support those of us who pay our taxes and comply with the official regulations and standards :-)

Families with infants are, of course, welcome. At this time, I just can't guarantee a full array of special infant gear and equipment.
I love pets but my allergies don't, so no cats & dogs please. Goldfish are ok.
Smoking is permitted on the patio only.
The cost of natural gas & firewood (if needed) is your responsibility.
The person making the reservation has to be over 21.
