Super nice people running a very cool space. I really can't recommend this place highly enough! I especially appreciated that Tomo-san went out of his way to let me check in later than normal. Just be aware that depending on which room you get, you might want to sleep with earplugs because of the noise and music from the covered shopping street in which the hostel is situated, which starts around 7am. Also, the beds are traditional Japanese "futon" cushions with a bit of extra foam padding underneath. This was my first experience with one, and I found it surprisingly comfy--much comfier than most of the cheap Western-style mattresses I endured in Thailand. Just something to be aware of. I'm actually thinking about buying one now for the sake of portability. Anyway, please don't let those observations discourage you from staying here. This place is the real deal!

This guesthouse is amazing. There are so many staff constantly available and many local people which come into the cafe during the day make you feel like a member of the community for a bit. You can dine with the staff and eat their delicious home-cooked organic meals for 700 yen. I stayed here 9 days and felt rejuvenated from the meals and the atmosphere. The beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of showers and bathrooms. Everything is brand new so it's very clean. I didn't even spend much time outside the immediate neighborhood because I felt like this place was my home for a little while. It's right by a zoo. And the tallest building in Japan. And there are tons of Karaoke bars all along the street. Lots of inexpensive street food and second-hand shops.
