It’s an ok apartment in a good (albeit very noisy) location, but this is not an AirBnb experience. No one is waiting for you to give you the key or show you around. That’s because it’s really a holiday home business pretending to be an AirBnb experience. You go to their office elsewhere to pick up the key (lucky we had a car!). On the wall behind the desk, there are 30+ other keys. Who knows how many apartments they have… You are then presented with a contract which outlines financial penalties breaking or losing stuff. This is an interesting detail, because you already have a contract through AirBnb… so now you have two. This one, you sign it and don’t get a copy. Once you arrive without the hosts help, there are no instructions in the house other than which WIFI to use. Soon you find out that that information is old. It doesn’t work, but there’s another one that does. You then find out that the house has the very bare minimum of amenities and NO attention to personal detail (the very reason I use AirBnb!). There is a coffee maker, but no filters (hint: toilet paper does the job). One towel per guest, but no hand towel, kitchen towel, tea towel… (so you end up washing dishes using the towel you used to shower with). Half the plants are dead. There’s a washing machine but nowhere to hang clothes to dry. There’s a kitchen but no little details like salt, pepper or oil. So even if you stay for a few days, you have to buy absolutely everything yourself. Very anti-AirBnb. The water in the shower doesn’t leave, the toilet takes half an hour to fill up with a new charge of water, and why is the heating on 24 hours day despite it being 32 degrees Celsius outside? The heating knobs have been removed, so you can’t change anything there. Oh and once booked, I received a standard copy & paste message from someone who is not the host (does he/she even exist?). It outlined a long list of costs of having an airport pick-up and a range of excursions they offered. I wrote back to ask about parking, and was told that parking is always paid in Krakow. I asked again to see if I could park for free maybe elsewhere on the other side of the river? She again insisted that that was impossible. Once I got there, I realized that I could park for free on the other side of the bridge, a mere 250 meters away… In all, a disappointing and frustrating experience. If I wanted a holiday apartment, I would have checked some other websites, but through AirBnb my expectations are higher.

Besides that I'm interested in politics, global news, IT innovations, and I do sports. While backpacking I stayed in various accommodations, starting from multiple dorm room in Moldova, ending with hotels.

I'm passionate about Krakow, and can provide you with some tips on where to go/eat/party/do sports, etc. off the beaten tourist path.

I'll be happy to host you in private apartments (check my portfolio), all located in different historic buildings of Krakow's old town. I also organize MUST-SEE tours - Auschwitz Birkenau, Wieliczka Salt Mine, and other.
Over 500 happy Airbnb guests picked my listings, what makes me quite experienced member of Airbnb community in Krakow ;-)
