I'm not really sure what to say. We were pretty disappointed overall. The biggest thing is that there's no heat in the unit (the thermostat doesn't work at all), and we were trying to sleep in roughly 17c/62f temperatures. That's pretty cold to sleep in. (Even a small space heater would have helped.) I found a spare blanket in the closet, otherwise I'm not sure we would have gotten any sleep. The bathroom was not set up for guests to be staying. There was no bathmat at all, and only two (URL HIDDEN) we couldn't have both showered and not made a mess. There was only one washcloth, no hand towels, and the hand soap was hiding in the bathroom cabinet. Also, a hair drier is provided, but there are no plugs in the bathroom to use it. My husband fixed the toilet, the chain needed to be shortened in the tank so it would flush properly (otherwise you had to hold it through the entire flush). The sliding door to the shower was broken and wouldn't really slide, and there was mold on the wall/ceiling. All in all, I realize it's a very cost effective unit, but when it's basic amenities lacking and little effort to prepare the unit for guests, it's hard to excuse.
Me and 2 of my friends stayed here to attend the music festival Northern Lights. We lovedddddd this spot. It was extremely cozy, warm and was located in a very accessible/convenient area. Literally 3-5 min walk to the see the great views of the River Valley and the LRT (train) station, 5-7 minute walk to Jasper Ave, and about a 5-10 drive into downtown. This home was also very clean along with a fair amount of kitchen space. I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Edmonton again. I'm actually missing this place a lot, it definitely holds a place in my heart! It's great for anyone who finds joy in the simplest things in life along with convenience! I slept on both the futon and bed and both were soft/cozy as well. The scenery and air was always crisp and the neighborhood is rather quiet, interestingly did not make as many encounters with people in the area, but that is probably because we were always out and about during the day. There is also a TV set (w/ a HDMI output) and wifi which also really made our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended if you are looking for convenience, something simple and cozy!!
