There's a couple of things we can guarantee....During the summer in New Orleans it is hot outside and if you leave the front door wide open it will be hot inside too. The AC works just fine but it is important to keep the door closed even during the times you and your friends were chatting with each other in front of the house. The temperature has been 95 degrees and higher, heat rises in a home, its always best to keep the cool air inside of the home by keeping the doors closed.
Our advertisement lists the home as 5 1/2 blocks to Bourbon St, that is walkable to some but not everyone. We've got Uber with short wait times here in New Orleans, we suggest taking an Uber or Taxi for the days that any of our guests prefer not to walk to any particular destination. Another option would be to take our brand new Rampart Streetcar! The new streetcar is located less than two blocks from the home its a fun ride and is an absolute must!
Our neighbor across the street may be offended that he was referred to as a 'bum' but don't worry, we will not share that comment with him. Our neighbor sits on his front porch for the majority of the day, he may not look like you and I and that's ok with us. Our neighbor is not a bum, he is a homeowner who sits on his porch for some good old fashioned people-watching. Here in New Orleans we call that Porch Sittin'. Porch Sittin' is fun and we highly recommend it to our guests that want to get the true New Orleans experience.
Thanks for the heads-up about the weather-stripping under the door. It sounds like the current weather-stripping didn't stand up to the wind driven rain from the Tropical Storm and High Winds. The weather-stripping will definitely be replaced in case we get another storm with such high winds.
