Unprofessional, rude and provoking behavior of the owners of Green Villa at Tzia (Kea)
I booked the Green Villa, Otzias, a village by the sea, on the island of Tzia, with Chris on behalf of my boss in the last days of June 2017, who was looking forward to celebrate her birthday there, accompanied by her husband and a few good friends. Below, I am presenting her comments about this trip, which unfortunately turned out to be the worst travelling experience of her life.
“As we were about to reach the port of Tzia, we received a call from one of the property’s owners, saying that he was waiting for us in Ioulida, principal town of Tzia situated on a mountain. Aside of the fact, that he was not meeting us at the port, as agreed in advance, he was, in fact, speaking about another property far from the sea which was our main concern! Numerous discussions followed which resulted into their admittance that a mistake had taken place, they had confused the properties (they had two villas for rent in Tzia, one in Otzias and another one in Ioulida); the Green Villa at Otzias was still occupied by other tourists, and now we had to stay at the port and wait for them to find for us another place to stay. The property in Ioulida was in no way suitable for us, as it had fewer bedrooms, bathrooms and it was required to park the car far away and walk to reach it – something that I can not do as I have a serious knee injury.
Eventually, the owners of Green Villa did not succeed to find another place available that would meet our requirements and they suggested that we wait for 3 hours at the port, while they send a cleaning agency to clean the house in Otzias, which was urgently left by the previous guests. We accepted this suggestion, but requested to go there at once, just to leave the luggage and change. What we saw when we arrived was so much disappointing. The house was dirty, it smelled bad, one of the 3,5 bathrooms (as the listing on Airbnb mentions) was broken. Needless to say, our mood was ruined, we were tired and stressed. It is worth to mention that the owner was aggressive and not willing to help the situation.
Fortunately, I was able to reach my real estate agent, who did the impossible and found us a property nearby, which, though, had a double cost. After long and tiring negotiations with the owners of the Green Villa, they finally agreed to pay the full cost of the new villa and at around 8pm we arrived at the new place.
The behavior and attitude of the owners of Green Villa was unprofessional, rude and provoking. They tried to deceive us and did not show willingness to make it up to us. Of course, that I do not recommend this place to stay to anyone."
