We look forward to seeing you at Lone Wolf Lodge, Wanaka.
Northern Beacon Point Road is a brilliant Wanaka location with proximity to the lakes edge and mountain views, You have immediate access to mountain trails linking you to the lakeside. To say our position is sunny and private is a bit of an understatement. The cabin shares a one acre site with our main residence. The cabin is it's own thing entirely though and it particularly suits Lone Wolves.
You can park in the cabin garage with remote control access. You can also park alongside the cabin but please ensure you keep the driveway clear for us to drive out from the main house. Your car won't be frozen when you go skiing in the morning, and there is heaps of room to store your snow sport gear too. Wanaka has a great taxi service and you can bus or get a shuttle from Queenstown airport to Wanaka. Or rent your own vehicle. Check out our tourism site (URL HIDDEN) for all the options.
Don't be surprised if our resident dog barks when you arrive. Skye Wulf is our Weimaraner and he doesn't live in or near the cabin. You will see him with Catherine when she is taking him for a run or sometimes going into the Cabin office which is downstairs in the cabin, otherwise he will keep to his place because he knows you want the cabin to yourself.
We also have two cats and we have blocked off the cat door to the cabin garage. You know cats though, they are inquisitive so they may wander over to the cabin occasionally.
Skye Wulf and Bam the Bengal cat apologise right now for being a bit noisy and ridiculously good-looking. Taffy the old grey and white cat is not likely to see you at all and she doesn't care about appearances.
Booking is for a maximum of two persons, single booking basis.
Tariff includes three day linen service. Full laundry is available for your personal items. Please leave the cabin in the same condition as you found it. A cleaning service is included in your tariff after your departure, any excessive cleaning requirements will incur an extra charge.
Environmental Policy: The complimentary toiletries and cleaning products are all eco-sensitive and we use refillable containers to avoid excessive packaging. The toiletries are for your use during your stay, they are not souvenirs. Do not take the large bottles with you or you will incur extra charges. Thank you for helping us care for the environment.
Also a lone wolf I love independant travel where I can meet local people who share their love of place with passion and enthusiasm. Together with my husband Tim we welcome you to Lone Wolf Lodge and trust you will enjoy your private stay. We run, bike and snow sport our hearts out in this beautiful region and are culture vultures who love exploring outside our lair too! World travellers who love local but think global will likely connect with us. I work as an artist when I am not managing and maintaining those beautiful Lone Wolf gardens. Other interests we may share are an obsession with reading, cinema, history, home design and art et al. We love learning about you and your culture, if you are open to doing so, but will respect your privacy keenly too!
We consider an ideal travel experience to be when we are left in peace but have access to local advice when we need it. We really think we have lucked out when we connect with fellow travellers who value the path of the lone wolf and going off the beaten track. Buen Camino!
