Welcome to Paradise Shores! We're glad you found us, and we believe you will be glad you did too. Here at Paradise Shores, we believe in reconnecting people to the simple pleasures of life in a no-frills, peaceful, camp like setting.
We're a husband & wife team and this is our adopted home - a small RV Park & Campground located directly on the shores of Bridgeport Reservoir.
We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses.
When you arrive we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water, and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. Regarding your pets, we love them all, though some dogs we love more than others. You will see them around the camp, but they're not allowed in this camper. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation.
It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a rental trailer as much as they’re immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to lay in one of our hammocks and read for three days. For the more adventurous, we offer a full slate of self-guided recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards, bird watching, campfires & s'mores. We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guest to “unplug” and immerse in the slow pace life instead.
We hope Paradise Shores becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, Twin Lakes, and the historic gold-mining town of Bodie are all within a short drive from here.
We're proud to know this area intimately and are excited to share the secret spots with you. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in a remote wilderness settings.
We put a lot of love and thought into finishing this camper and now it gives us a great joy to share it with you. We took some old barn wood and built a deck with a commanding view of the lake and the whole camp. There's no pretense at the Cottage camper, it just feels right and everybody fits, well, at least three of you will! And there's free lemonade in the office. It’s Miller time! ;-)
Our Cottage Camper is super comfortable & sleeps up to three people. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the living area has a day bed (twin size).
Sheets, towels, kitchenware, as well as coffee maker, toaster, paper towels etc. are all provided. You’ll also find there a breakfast selection: oatmeal, breakfast bars, coffee and creamers. Wifi internet, outdoor seating area with an awning, fireplace, barbecue and a cooling system are all part of the rental. We provide one day’s supply of charcoal briquettes, to get you started on your grilling and outdoor entertaining, and you can buy locally grown firewood at our office.
So, all you really need to bring is some clothing and food. Pretty much everything else is covered.
Our rates are all inclusive (space rent, propane, wifi, etc. are all included).
Paradise Shores is located on the Bridgeport Reservoir and we cannot control nor guarantee the water level. If camping inches from the lake is vital to your experience, we suggest emailing us to determine current heights.

Taxes, like death, are unavoidable. Our listings show 12% Transit Occupancy Tax (TOT) as one-off Cleaning Fee for the time being, since the relevant charge isn't available on AirBnB yet for our county. We've calculated the tax on the basis of two-nights' stay, as that's the most typical booking duration our guests request. We'll adjust it if your length of stay with us differs.
TOT is one of few ways the local county gets an income. It goes to good use such as schools, roads and other local community projects. This tax is mandatory for any guests staying for less than 31 days. If you're staying in Mono County, you will have to pay this tax, unless your AirBnB host does not collect or pay TOT, which is illegal.
Please keep in mind that some of the mountain passes - Tioga Road (main road to Yosemite – HWY 120), Sonora Pass (HWY 108), and Monitor Pass (HWY 89) don’t open until May or sometimes even June and later, depending on the snowpack. Plan accordingly. Also, some of these mountain passes that take you to our camp can be closed during stormy weather. This is especially true in the spring and fall.
This is our home, please treat it as you would your own place. Thank you!
At Paradise Shores, we believe in protecting people, animals and the planet. We make sure that the majority of products we use at our camp is recycled, composted or re-used. We prefer to use products that are produced in a sustainable way and avoid those that aren't.
* We are continuously reducing the amount of waste we generate and actively promote recycling of aluminum, plastic, glass, and cardboard. We pack our own recycling and haul it to the nearest recycling facility, which is an hour away. We co-opt the drive with other activities to reduce waste.
* We don’t use individually packaged toiletries or one-use products.
* Essential oils are used to clean our rental trailers.
* We use plant and planet friendly detergent.
* Our camp will be 100% solar powered by 2019.
We live in the desert. We share our precious water with the entire planet. With only 326 million cubic miles of water on the earth, the decreasing amounts of access to quality fresh water is alarming to us. We monitor how we use water in our day-to-day operations and are constantly working on ways to reduce our consumption of fresh water resources.
* The water used to wash our linens and towels is recycled to irrigate the numerous gardens on our property.
* In all our rental trailers, we provide our guests with “plant friendly” cleaning products. By only using eco friendly products, we are able to use the kitchen and shower’s water to irrigate our gardens.
We hope you can help us maintain the greener camping!
We're Alan, Veronika and Oliver: husband, wife and son team, who would love to share our home with you. We love the Eastern Sierras and are eager to introduce this wonderful place to other people. We welcome guests from late April till mid-October. Our camp is conveniently situated close to many High Sierra attractions. This area is one of the most spectacular in the world and offers exceptional recreational activities. We are fortunate to be located on Bridgeport Reservoir, Ca. with its world famous fishing and water sports. The blue ribbon trout fishing of the East Walker River is just minutes away. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono, June, Convict and Twin Lakes, as well as the historic gold-mining town of Bodie are all within a short drive from our camp.
Water skiing, sailing, mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and of course fishing, are all readily available right from the property. For the more adventurous, there's rock climbing, hiking, snowmobiling and year-round skiing in the back-country. The possibilities are endless. Yosemite National Park, which occupies less than 10% of the Sierra Mountain Range, is only a small fraction of the adventures this spectacular area affords. The surrounding terrain offers endless activities and unbelievable scenery in remote wilderness settings. Do you enjoy bird watching? There are hundreds of different species right here at Paradise Shores, which is on a major bird migration route.
Did we mention the world-class trout fishing? We are the closest lodging to the famous East Walker River, not to mention the trophy fishery right here at the lake. Additionally, numerous other lakes, rivers and creeks are only a short drive away. People come from around the world to stay with us and fish this unique area.
The fish are plentiful here at Paradise Shores, the people are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is casual. So bring the whole family; with so many things to do, everyone is sure to have a memorable time. Please message us if you have any questions or would like more information.
