A fun comfortable cottage built in the late 1800's. Our little piece of Napier's history is in a great location, only a ten min flat walk to town. The cottage has a lovely spacious loft bedroom accessed by a spiral staircase with a large king bed, a 2nd bedroom with 1 king single,a living dining kitchen area, bathroom with shower, loo, hand basin and washing machine. An outdoor room with BBQ and off street parking for one car. We love it because it's quirky and just a neat place to stay in.
Our Brick Cottage is quite unique! It was built in the late 1800s and was reportedly the brick managers home. There are some wonderful photos showing Napier pre earthquake and our little cottage sitting across the road from the sea! Of course the earthquake changed the coastline and the sea is no longer across the road.
The downstairs is built of bricks which gives it great warmth and character. The dining, kitchen and living space are downstairs, as is the second bedroom. The dining area has seating for 4, the living area has a couch and two big old armchairs. It is very cosy, with some quite unique decorations, giving it an Art Deco feel. The kitchen is well equipped, fridge, microwave, toaster, glasses and all your normal kitchen ware. However there is no stove or hot plate inside, but a BBQ is provided in the outdoor room, along with BBQ table and chairs. There is a stereo with AM, FM, CD, USB port and bluetooth.
The downstairs bedroom has two singles. Best suited for children or very close friends!!
A great bedroom is upstairs, accessed by a spiral staircase, which the tall or physically challenged may find tricky, a king sized bed, two chairs, lovely antique hand basin, TV with freeview, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. This bedroom is a loft so ceilings are low on the sides!
All our beds are made with lovely fresh cotton linen.
There is no WiFi but excellent cell ph coverage with all providers, hotspot works very well.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, hand basin and washing machine, and there is a clothesline outside.
We love our little cottage as it is just a little different and so close to town. We hope you will enjoy it to.
