Stayed for a few weeks in a 1 Bedroom, first stop was to see Victoria and check-in. I was a little early but was able to check in anyway which was nice since I had some business on the base that afternoon. The cottage I had was clean with fresh sheets, it had the basic utensils but not much more than that as far as kitchen goes, the couch was pretty much worn out. The Wifi was intermittent, sometimes I had a good connection while another it was totally out for a hew hours or more. The resort was calm and quiet with other people respecting your peace and space. Security was a top concern but again no problems. Yes I would stay there again.

This place had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location is very convenient; off the main road (quiet) and close to Joshua tree national park.

The host did a great job of communicating quickly and politely. I was confirmed within 24 hours of my request. They also were flexible on the dates I needed. The facility itself was decent but small. I found my stay enjoyable and would stay here again.

The first thing I noticed about this rental was that it did not have a porch, which was the main reason that I wanted to rent it. I even brought a folding chair so I could sit on the porch in the morning and evenings. The picture showed a porch, but no porch. It turns out that this owner has a few rental units here, markets them all with this one picture, but you get whatever is available. Rather deceptive, in my opinion. But wait, there’s more. From the picture and description the unit is a cottage in a resort. It is neither a cottage nor a resort. It is a trailer park, the units are all close to each other, and the unit is a small trailer (I know this because I followed the mice who lived underneath and noticed it was simply a trailer). So you hear the barking dogs in the unit on one side of you, and the couple fighting on the other side. And there are cigarette butts and beer bottle caps strewn about to add to the ambiance. The trailer park is located just down the street from the Marine base, so the stores in the area mostly consist of tatto artists, massage parlors that are obviously not for massages, and liquor stores. During the evenings when I would be sitting outside looking at the stars I had a soundtrack of motorcycles and souped-up pick-up trucks roaring up the highway to the base. It literally sounded like a speedway, and the highway is probably no more than 200 feet from the unit, so noisy does not come close to describing the place. But lets not forget the unit itself. After the screen door fell off the first time I opened it, I sat down on the hard and uncomfortable couch, which was nothing compared to the lumpy and squeeky bed. The blanket looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, absolutely filthy. The light in the bedroom buzzes to the point where I couldn’t keep it on. There are closets but no hangers, so bring your own. The heater in the living room also sputters. Don’t try opening the windows, you won’t be able to close them. The toilet runs, good luck getting a water temp in the shower that isn’t too cold or too hot, and the coffee maker leaks, so make sure you don’t leave anything on the counter (it ruined a bunch of my vitamins before I realized). Also, hope that the sputtering heater doesn’t catch on fire, since there is no battery in the one smoke detector and it seemed doubtful that I would have been able to escape out the bedroom window. Lastly, if you are there to visit Joshua Tree, you’d be much better off staying in one of the many motels closer to the western entrance to the park, which are undoubtedly cheaper, certainly at this time of year. This unit is closer to the east entrance,...

House had everything needed, the only thing we missed was soap. The manager Victoria was very helpful and friendly. The place met all our needs as a family of four visiting Joshua tree park.

The host is not physically there but his designee, Victoria, lives close by and is very helpful. I was initially concerned because the place was not ready for occupancy. For short term stays, I've come to expect a few more amenities, such as coffee, dish soap, paper towels, sponge to wipe down kitchen surfaces. The cottage furnishings suffer from neglect but were clean. The heating system broke down but I was much happier with the quiet space heater provided. The pluses are that it's near the north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, within an easy drive to restaurants and a large grocery store. I loved going to the drive-in movie theater about a half mile from the cottage.
