At Southern Trails you will enjoy a genuine Texas experience! There's no better way to explore the Hill Country than on horseback. Misti and I will take you on a scenic, guided horseback ride, show you the reins, and ensure you have a fun experience. First, we will pair you with one of our highly trained and lovable horses! (Whiskey, Bear, Mississippi, Comanche, or Dolly!). Next, we will have a brief lesson where you will learn to stop, turn and ride the proper way on the trails. Then we will head out and take an hour trail ride through the beautiful hill country. We will ride through trees, up hills, down hills. We will pass some creeks and ponds and even a graveyard dating back to the 1700’s! The graveyard is said to hold the relatives of Davy Crockett as well as some other heroes from Texas history! We will stop to take a couple pictures along the way! If you have younger children please call and ask about "Little Dude Ride." It is perfect for kids and families that aren’t quite ready for the hour trail ride. We want everyone to be able to have an awesome horseback riding experience. Imagine hearing a concert by a world-class award winning violinist as you walk down a gorgeous nature trail. I'll take you on the only nature and acoustic music immersion experience I know of anywhere. We'll start at a beautiful oak tree covered corner park and then make our way to a private greenbelt. The experience will include a private guided walk with live violin played by your host along the way. You'll learn a few fun and interesting facts about history of the area, nature, and scenery and I'll lead you in a short guided meditation at the midpoint of the experience. If you book an evening time, note the the timing is usually set so the event ends around sunset. Texas sunsets are amazing, and if its summer, its cooler at that time. If there's a date or time you'd like, but it's not available on our calendar, reach out to me. Most of the time we can accommodate your preferred date. We will begin by entering the forest intentionally with greetings/prayer and intentions, followed by a silent walk to a secluded wooded field. We will gather in a circle and check in with ourselves and others (emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically), followed by a guided mindfulness and meditation practice, bells, and a final check-in. We will then walk out, restored in the present moment and re-connected with ourselves and the sacred life all around. No specific preparation or experience is needed, except an open and curious spirit. Simply trust the 'yes' that you feel in your cells, and let's go! Please dress appropriately for the weather, and bring water. We will be sitting on the ground, so bring a small mat or towel if you would like.

We'll meet in front of the Ellis cocktail bar at 111 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704. First up, you'll dig into some Central Texas pit-style BBQ brisket served with the best pinto beans ever. Next, you'll enjoy a breakfast taco, a local favourite with a cult-like following. On our stroll, we'll say "howdy" to Willie Nelson, an Austin icon, and pass by where Austin City Limits is held. Afterwards, we will stop at one of our favorite food trucks for a secret bite– a fusion dish that will blow your mind. Then it's time for a cool down with a smoothie made with local Texas wildflower honey. After several great bites, we'll take a stroll down Congress Ave to see and talk about some of our protected historic buildings. As if you weren’t already full, we are right back where we started to sample a local staple food truck turned brick and mortar. And finally, we'll round things out with a flan-inspired creation made just for our tour. We end the tour pretty much where we start it.
