I am offering an advanced session to learn the process of creating a coloured borosilicate glass pendant art work. This is a workshop session for maximum 3 people and lasts around 3 hours with a few breaks. During the session each participant makes minimum two ornaments and often more.. I teach how to blow a glass bubble with coloured dots on. Towards the end of the session I will create a several demo pieces to show tricks and techniques. The participant will get to keep the demo pieces as well. Please note the pieces made need to be annealed in the kiln for 6 hours after the session end so they will not be ready to take home. I will post them safely or they can be picked up. This can take up to three weeks. I also issue a little self made named certificate as a memory. Not suitable for children under 10 years of age. Before we start to make our mosaic, we will meet outside the Mosley street entrance of Manchester Art Gallery to begin our walking bee tour. The art gallery is the perfect place to start. We will spot a few bees, explore the significance of the Manchester bee and look at some Pre-Raphaelite Art. Then onto Manchester Town Hall to pay homage to Alfred Waterhouse (1830 ~1905) the architect of the gothic style masterpiece. He had the vision for the incredible bee mosaic floor, the inspiration for our mosaic. Then over to Library Walk to see the flower mosaic floor and spot some more worker bees. As we make our way through the streets of Manchester we will see wonderful examples of architecture. Onto "Whitworth Locke Hotel” Co Working Space, Whitworth Street. Where we will settle in with a tea or coffee from Foundation Coffee. I’ll guide you through the mosaic process and techniques. Sharing my skills and tips on how to make your own mosaic bee. You’ll leave with a unique mosaic to treasure forever, a wonderful memory of your trip to Manchester. All materials will be provided. Suzette Field would like to introduce you to the world of insect taxidermy. For over 300 years, entomologists and collectors have mounted butterflies and other insects for taxonomic reference or stunning visual displays. Such compilations can be found lurking in old museum archives and are often kept in meticulous condition in display cases and cabinets. There has been a recent renaissance in the use of insects for artistic display and this class will introduce you to the skills and techniques used in setting butterflies. The workshop will begin with a talk on the biology of insects with further instruction on the hydration, setting, pinning and drying of specimens. This is a beginners course with no experience required and you will leave with your own set of framed butterflies. Please note all butterflies are ethically sourced from a conservation project.

You will arrive at the farm - which has wonderful views We will give you a short talk on the Alpacas; * how to keep you and your Alpaca safe * how to put your Alpaca at ease and gain the most from your experience. * the care and husbandry tasks for alpacas We will match you to the Alpaca which would suit you best, collect "the boys" and go for a walk around our farm - this will be through wooded areas and fields and we will stop to allow you time to pet the Alpacas and get to know them. PLEASE ENSURE YOU WEAR SUITABLE FOOTWEAR. We will have cuddles and photo opportunities and hand feed them. You will be able to feel some of their fleece and if you wish you can collect some alpaca poop if you wish to make some "fertiliser tea" once you return home to help your garden grow! You may have the chance to meet our Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep. You will leave the experience with increased knowledge about these wonderful animals and benefit from some time in their company. There are 3 alpacas, each visitor will have 1 alpaca each, if you have a group of more than 3 people, please get in touch. Alpacas are friendly animals who have a natural curiosity. Alpacaly Ever After are delighted to be working with Forestry Commission England to bring our world famous alpaca walks to Whinlatter Forest! Trail through England’s only true mountain forest, get to know our delightful alpacas up close along the way, take part in feeding time and ask as many questions as you can think of! Once you've booked and found your way to Whinlatter Forest, we will meet you at the visitor centre. After an introduction and covid safety briefing we will walk you to our alpaca boys eagerly waiting for a walk and some snacks. We will show you how to walk an alpaca and introduce you to your walk buddy. Once we're all ready we'll head off on our walk through the forest, along the way our guide will tell you about your alpaca, answer any questions you have and give you a complete lesson in alpacas and llamas. We have several stops for snacking and selfies and an amazing viewpoint with views over the Lake District. On our journey we will be on multi-user trails and single tracks enjoying England's only Mountain Forest. At the end of our walk we will give you time to get selfies, feed the alpacas and ask any more burning questions. As a Non-Profit Social Enterprise all the income from our activities goes back into supporting the work we do re-homing and rescuing alpacas and llamas, and providing free and subsidised activities for 3rd sector organisation.

We star our tour at The Monument To The Fire Of London where you will hear stories of the past. We then walk across the historic London Bridge and head over to Borough Market for some food and time to look around, we then head off the the site of the origional Shakespears Globe Theatre that burnt down.
