In this fun class, you will learn how to make five different mochi dishes! We will start class by hand-pounding glutinous sweet rice into authentic mochi! Next, you will enjoy a savory mochi soup, and a sweet version: fresh mochi filled with sweet red bean and fresh strawberries!
Second, we will make a pink rosewater mochi, followed by matcha mochi, for our third dish.
Fourth, we will make green tea mochi ice cream!
We will end class by making delicious vanilla-glazed mochi donuts!
Sweet red bean paste, fresh strawberries (upon availability), and chocolate will be available to fill your mochi with.
You will get to eat a lot of mochi, and best of all take home a box with lots of homemade mochi to share!
*If you are vegan, you can bring vegan ice cream with you. Please let me know if you are vegan in advance so I can prepare the vegan donut dough.
**All dishes are gluten-free! (*however, we use normal miso for the soup)
