Qué harás
Join us for a snowshoe hike through the boreal forest. We will meet first at our cabin to gear up, then head out to explore the treasures of the forest. Learn about the natural history of interior Alaska -- it may be winter but there are still plants, birds, and mammals to be found! Trails are chosen depending on the abilities and interests of the group. After your wander through the woods, return to the warmth of the wood stove and sip on some locally crafted herbal teas and catch a glimpse into Alaskan simple living. We are passionate outdoor enthusiasts and naturalists. We co-founded Leaf Out Nature Guides as a way to share our love and knowledge of Alaska, taking people out snowshoeing and hiking. We work in natural resource management, field biology, wildland and structure firefighting, as well as professional guiding.
With master's degrees in ethnobotany and ecoliteracy we are passionate about sharing the natural world around us and love giving others the opportunity to discover the beauty and wonder of interior Alaska.
When we are not working we are often out backpacking, ski touring, or packrafting

Dónde estarás
We will start and end in our cozy cabin, where you will get to see what dry cabin living means. We will share stories about the things we make with locally foraged products, our experiences hunting, and adventures in Alaska.
Snowshoeing we will explore a boreal forest, moving from birch to spruce habitat. We will walk through a winter wonderland looking for animal tracks, learning about local plant uses, and how they survive life in the cold.
