Qué harás

At the very edge of California Wine Country we explore the Russian River where it pours into the Pacific Ocean during a 2.5-3 hour guided kayak tour.
Your guide will meet you at our launch point with tandem sit-on-top kayaks, lifejackets, and paddles before a small safety talk and and overview of the day's paddle. We kayak the peaceful Jenner Estuary and keep our eyes open for resident harbor seals, cormorants, pelicans, and a variety of other wildlife as your local guide gives a unique perspective of "Wine Country" that 90% of visitors never experience. History, wildlife, and local culture are tied together to give guests a deeper and richer understanding of this amazing corner of the world.
The tour lands on the beach overlooking the Pacific for a quick leg stretch before heading back to Jenner. From there your guide is very happy to give tips and options for you to continue your day of adventure at the beautiful Sonoma Coast.

I am a longtime Sonoma County resident who grew up on the remote North Coast before moving South to Santa Rosa. I have spent years traveling the world and am constantly blown away by how gorgeous and unique the Northern Bay Area is. I love to travel by my own power whether it be foot, bike, or kayak and now focus my travels on long distance self supported trips. I find these get me charged up to then show off my backyard to travelers from all over the world and also gives me ample opportunity to truly appreciate what a beautiful place I live in.
I love knowing that I can provide an experience and perspective that visitors can then take home with them and my favorite thing is to have someone email me later and let me know the kayak tour was the highlight of their time in Sonoma County!

Dónde estarás

At the end of the Russian River is the Jenner Estuary. Home to nursing harbor seals and dozens of species of migrating birds. Whales can be seen from the beach in Spring and the magical foggy mornings slowly peel away to reveal craggy cliffs and towering trees overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The river is tidally influenced and is a safe and unique opportunity to paddle near and observe the Pacific without actually going into it.

Erik and his Dad were awesome. We had a big group of 10 kayakers + 2 guides but we were the only ones on the river. They allowed everyone to explore at their own pace and would make sure to catch up/lay back as needed to make sure everyone was enjoying their time. They could talk about the river and Sonoma county all day. If you need recommendations, if you want to discuss the history of the area, if you need a bird watching/nature guide, or if you just want to be left alone to enjoy the peace of the river, Erik’s kayak tour is for you. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Erik is a great guide and this is a chill kayak along the river. We saw several seals, got to hang on the beach for a bit, and generally enjoy a break in the wine country grind!

This was so much fun!! Erik is super knowledgeable about the area and about the local marine life. We saw seals, pelicans, and even an otter!! 10/10 would recommend :)

Such an easy and comfortable way to get in the water if you’re too unsure to rent kayaks on your own. I took my parents who had never been in a kayak and Erik and his father were great. My dad needed to bow out early due to shoulder pain and it was not a problem to split from the group and be escorted to the put in area. We learned a lot about birds and ducks that we saw. Saw a harbor seal too! Really nice way to spend the morning.
