My experience as a tour guide makes me a qualified host because tourism has always been about showing hospitality through history and culture. Music, dance, and food are a very important part of South African history. People have always found that music can be their voice if the normal way of communicating is not working. I do not give you an audiobook experience of Soweto I invite you to be part of the love and humanity Soweto is . I am fortunate enough to have been born in Soweto—the home of our freedom charter but most of all allow you to be part of the writing of the now Sowetan history.Plus I use to be a Tour Guide in one of the greatest tour companies in Johannesburg Lebo's Soweto Back Packers.

We had an amazing experience with Ntsiki and in Soweto. She is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and inspiring. Soweto is such a huge part of South African history, and a trip to Joburg without it would be incomplete. Thanks for welcoming us to your neighborhood Ntsiki, and for the wonderful experience.

Ntsiki was an awesome tour guide! We first met her and her sister and chatted about what we wanted out of the tour and from there she was able to personalize to us and our interests. She was very knowledgable and passionate about the history and current status of South Africa/ Soweto. We went to landmarks such as the Hector Pieterson museum, Nelson Mandela's house, Winnie Mandela's house, and Walter Sisulu Square. We also went to local spots that we wouldn't have experienced if on a big tour or on our own such as a local bar for lunch of kota and homemade white beer, the Soweto brewery, into one of the shanty townships of Kliptown and met a family who lived there. It was a very educational experience but also laid back, we had a lot of laughs and i felt i left with having made 2 new friends that day :) Thanks Ntsiki

Nitsiki is extremely knowledgeable and insightful about Soweto and South Africa and its turbulent history both social and political and its outcome on the psyche of the old and young generations. The day was a perfect mixture of touring, talking and experiencing the culture of Soweto... both she and her sister are delightful

Ntsiki is very knowledgeable about Soweto’s culture and history. The tour was very enlightening. She’s very passionate and genuine. Her little sister tagged along and that felt like an extra bonus. I would definitely do this tour again!

Más consejos

You may have read that Soweto is dangerous, but I can say that Soweto is not so bad. It's not perfect, but it is safer than many European cities. Sowetan people have "ubuntu"—a humanity toward others.
