Qué harás

On this adventure, we will be hiking with snowshoes, immersing ourselves in the forest on a homemade secluded winter trail. Starting, we will spend 1 hour of hiking up 800’ in elevation at a relaxed and enjoyable pace. Up the mountain, we go through uninterrupted Tahoe National Forest. Guiding through the alpine scenery I’ll be sharing stories of the area, history, as well as local flora and fauna. Roughly halfway, we reach one of the highlights of the hike and the scenic reward of Pauly’s Point, an outcropping of rocks, and our highest point of the adventure. From here, world-renowned ski resorts of Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley are in full view as they nestle into the Sierra Nevada mountains. Breathtaking scenery surrounds us as we take a break for a snack. On our way down, we will take roughly an hour to meander our way back down the mountain through a variety of high alpine meadows, finishing a loop as we reach the end. Due to the seclusion, seeing another person is highly unlikely. So step off the beaten path and allow me to show you a true mountain outing you won’t surely forget.

This hike is suitable for all ability levels. However, due to the elevation gain, uneven surfaces, and ever-changing snow conditions. This hike is considered intermediate- moderate in difficulty so be ready to break a little sweat. All who attend will be rewarded greatly by the experience.
Other things to note
Eat, Hydrate, and use the restroom prior to the hike. No restroom is available at our meeting location. Make sure to have proper footwear for walking through snow for up to 3 hours. A water bottle or camelback is highly recommended for the hike.

I have been a professional guide for 14 years, leading trips all over the western United States and through South America’s Patagonia. For most of my guiding career I have been a river guide, hosting guests down local rivers with my family owned rafting company Tahoe Whitewater Tours. When not running the family rafting company, I tend to guide weeklong multi-sport expeditions in Patagonia. Taking guests river rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, canyoneering, and glacier hiking. Growing up in Lake Tahoe allowed me to find my passion for the outdoors as well as give me a career in guiding guests to special outdoor areas.

This adventure takes place out of the backyard of my family's private property. Located only minutes from Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. From private access, we follow a personal trail through the woods to one of my all-time favorite viewpoints. Throughout the hike Iconic scenery of Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and the Sierra Crest can be enjoyed in this sparsely populated zone, allowing for an uninterrupted immersive experience

This experience was the highlight of our trip to Lake Tahoe! The hike itself was very magical as if you are in a winter wonderland (despite it being in November and a lot of places don’t even have any snow). The view of the lake at the top was really cool as well. Pauly was very professional and give us really clear instructions. This is our first time snowshoe hiking and we had no problem at all. He is also knowledgeable about the area, from picking the best spot for the hiking, explaining plants on the way to fun facts and cool stories about the lake. We really enjoyed our hike and learnt a lot of cool facts. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!

This is really not a good experience for us,(we have four people two adults ,one 10 years boy and 14 years old girl),maybe it’s a good experience for another two young ladies who joined us together. After booking, I have asked Pauly about our dogs, we have two small toy poodles less than 8 pounds, and I showed dogs pictures to him letting him know how big they are, they have very short legs and very small. He said should be ok if the snow is not too soft. We came and asked him the night before starting, he told us there were no enough snow and we had to change to another place, I said that’s fine and do you think my dogs can make it? He said :”Should be fine. I think it will be just your two dogs joining us tomorrow.” I thought which means nobody else is gonna join us, so for us we don’t care about how far we are gonna go, we can walk slowly and waiting for my dogs no rush. So we brought our dogs there, and there were another two ladies, but we could not leave dogs in the car for three hours, so we have to take dogs together, we started to wear the equipment and walked on the snow. This is the first time for us doing this and the first time for my dogs walking on the snow, so it’s a little bit hard for me, my daughter and one dog to walk, since this dog’s legs are very very short, so we moved slowly and behind them. Pauly was waking with the other two ladies in the front and very far from us. I thought maybe we were too behind so they were waiting for us to catch up, when we got there he told us we gotta be fast since we are gonna go to the hill, then he started going with the other two ladies in the front again. I thought we could not be like this, so I stopped and put my dog in my backpack carrying him, and we were very behind because they were fast and it’s difficult for me and my daughter, Pauly is supposed to support the weak ones in the team instead of going fast in the front, we can not find the right way and fell on the ground, this is the first time we wear this kind of shoes, so I have no idea how to get up specially carrying a dog on my back, I have to call my husband to come back but he didn’t hear, so I called Pauly said I can not get up and I can’t make it, so I’m not going and please let my husband and my son come back. he didn’t say any for coming back help or maybe we can walk a little bit slowly or he can walk with us to support or anything else, he said:” sounds good, just put my equipments by my car!” I didn’t say anything. I paid him $360 for four of us and we only walk like 200 meters, that’s it!

Unforgettable Memories with my kids! The land is magical! The views were stunning! Our guide, Clayton, was world-class and so incredibly kind, professional, and encouraging. The journey was truly fun, entertaining and a boon for growth in a sweet and adventurous way, for all three of my boys- ages 13, 11 and 7! Some things money can’t buy. In this case, pay the toll and enter a world of wonder, adventure, beauty and joy! Highly recommended!!
