Qué harás

Malama 'Aina (caring for the land) is a cultural experience where guests will learn what it means to care for the land, and in the process care for yourself and others. On a modern Hawaiian pu`uhonua (safe place) where Native Hawaiian education, healing, sustainable lifestyle, and natural farming intersect, we will share a system of living, which integrates rigorous Native Hawaiian cultural practice with contemporary science, and all belief systems. Upon arrival participants will meet our co-hosts (uncle Bruce Kaulani and Kahale Unciano) learn protocol and chant, as well as history and getting to know each other. Guests will then begin projects as assigned for day which from time to time may include removing invasive species, planting native foods or medicines, making art, making tapa, pounding poi, or preparing for other cultural activities the organization participates in. Guests will be taught about the importance of the work, the history of the plants, learn about the local legends and history of Manoa. We will conclude our time enjoying a meal with ingredients gathered in Manoa.
