Spend a unforgettable holiday in the enchanting surroundings of the town of Cisternino (reachable from the near airports of Bari and Brindisi). Trullo Edera offers a heaven of peace and tranquillity, set in an elevated position with a stunning view. It's the perfect place if you like nature. You can stay under an olive tree reading a good book, you can have a walk in the small country streets or go to the nearest beaches. You can even easily visit any of the sights in Apulia such as the caves of Castellana, the trulli of Alberobello, the baroque cities of Lecce and Martina Franca, the excavations of Egnazia, the zoosafari of Fasano, Castel del Monte with Frederick's castle, Grottaglie famous for its ceramics, Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce museums. Prices vary on period and are to be considered included: in-outcoming cleanings, towels, sheets, water, gas, electricity.
거리 주소로 했더니 근처 다른 곳으로 보내줘서 Anna가 나를 찾느라 수고좀 했다.^^ It was a great opportunity to stay at Trullo. The village of Trulli is appreciated in the nearby Alberobello and the accommodation will be fine here. Anna and her family were all very kind. When we went, she had harvested the cherry, and she gave us a basket full of fresh and delicious cherries. Her strawberry jam was so delicious. There were tree houses, swings and horses, so the children loved it. If you search for 'I Sette Coni' on (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps, you will be guided to a more accurate address. When I came to the street address, I was sent to another place nearby and Anna was looking for me :)

  • A wonderful place to relax... The trullo itself is very charming and the surrounding areas offer both beautiful landscapes and interesting historic villages to explore (Locorotondo was our favourite). Anna and her parents ensured that we had everything we needed - from fresh eggs and home-made jam to organic olive oil. They are very warm and pleasant people, and we enjoyed talking with them. We highly recommend this place and are already planning our next visit!

  • We stayed at Trullo Edera in June 2014. It is situated a few minutes drive from the local town, down narrow country lanes. The Trullo has been beautifully restored using traditional methods and is pretty, charming, well-equipped and very comfortable. Anna was most helpful and patient, answering all our questions and making lots of useful suggestions about where to go and what to see. The area is lovely; we especially enjoyed Matera, and walking round the delightful "centro storico" in the local towns. Evening is the best time to visit, when the heat of the day has past. Not surprising that the locals choose this time for their "passiagata", and we spent several hours people-watching in the pavement cafés and restaurants. All in all, an experience "da non mancare".

  • Ooooooh, what a wonderful and welcoming place! We loved Annas trullo, the sunny terrace with all the colorful springflowers and the silence of the nature so much! The house is perfectly equipped. Also Anna and her mother Tonia have contributed to make our stay a perfect holiday. They were so nice and hospitable! It's obvious that the really want their guests to enjoy their stay and have everything they need - perfect hosts. We stayed in the trullo for one week at the beginning of may. The house always had a comfortable climate and we slept very well in the beautiful sleeping room. Every morning the sun greeted us through the curtains of the terrace door :-) The location is a great starting point for many places to see in Apulia. It was a nice experience to visit the farmer's market in Cisternino, which takes place every monday morning. Further highlights were Ostuni, Castel del Monte, Matera and a quick bath in the sea. Thank you so much, Anna and Tonia! Your trullo and your hospitality were amazing! Speriamo di rivedervi!

  • Wow, this trullo has everything you need in a holiday. We've spent 2 nights in the trullo while our journey through italy, and i'm very happy we did so. Anna and her family created a wonderful place out there, we felt at home the minute we arrived. The welcoming drinks in the fridge, the breakfast basket, the whole appartment and the decoration were made with love. The terrace was perfect to relax and enjoy the sun, we had a great time out there. We loved the surrounding area as much as the trullo itself. The olivetrees, the grapes, the horses, everything was unrealistic beautiful. The trullo is located well(even if i have to say we hardly left the gardens as we wanted to seize every second), the kitchen well equipped and the trullo very stylish renovated. We loved to sit on the couch and watch the fireplace, thanks again for the wood :) All in all i highly recommend this place, we didn't miss a thing. Thank you for having us, Theresa & Andreas

In ogni caso: consigliato!

  • I almost don't want to reveal how amazing this trullo was, so I can ensure a trip back there (every year) for the foreseeable future. Anna and her family are amazing. They not only supply you with the basic foodstuffs before arrival, but her mother also stopped by with eggs and cherries later, and Anna brought me directly to the grocery so I would know where to park and where to go. They were incredibly accommodating of my late arrival time, and gave me additional suggestions for restaurants, beaches and marketplaces to visit. Her mother sells olive oil, too, which makes for a perfect souvenir! Before I left, Anna kindly showed me around the other trulli, which were absolutely stunning. Their remodeling is an interior designer's dream - like a (well-done) Pinterest board come to life! Everything you could want is provided for - the town is nearby, there are small country roads to wander, and beaches nearby, the cities of Cisternino and Ostuni make for gorgeous photo sessions, and everything together the culmination of a relaxing stay in the country. I definitely recommend taking Anna's advice, though - rent a car! I was insistent on using public transit until I realized that it's about 1-2 miles out of the trulli, and Italians do enjoy their speedy driving. I cannot wait to return - I hope these trulli stay on Airbnb forever. Thank you, Anna and family!

  • We stayed at Anna's trullo for a week in August 2017 with 2 kids - 13yo and 2yo, everyone had a great time. Trullo is very comfortable and has anything you need for cooking even the most fancy meal. (If you can ask Anna's sister for a cooking lesson, she is great, kids absolutely loved freshly made orachetti pasta !)Feeding carrots to two friendly horses and going to the beach every day became our daily routine (Torre Carne is the closest and by far the best beach for kids, and the cafe in the harbour is worth a visit - stylish and well priced with €5 cocktails). We'd love to come back !

The world famous Seashell house is a gated property .... owners/architects live next door. You will have a private pool, two king beds , kitchenette and BBQ and entire property, both shells . In shell wifi, air conditioning. I am proud to enable your stay . Enjoy a day or more feeling like a celebrity as passers by will seek to look in with intrigued expressions.
My dear friends Raquel and Eduardo Ocampo designed and built the Seashell House and for many years no one knew that it was possible to stay here and fewer knew how to arrange a stay. I decided it was too special to keep to myself and I invited the world via AIRBNB !!! Raquel and daughter Vane are your hosts at this unique island paradise . If crowded pools, lobby's and the "tourist bubble" are not your idea of an escape then the SEASHELL HOUSE may be the perfect place for your stay in ISLA MUJERES. Nearest airport : Cancun International Nearest port :. Puerto Juarez (downtown Cancun adjacent) or Playa Tortugas (Cancun hotel zone) Nearest beach : we face the rocky north side of the island and the best beach is north beach which is 15 minutes away by golf cart. El Garrafon snorkel park is a short distance in the opposite direction. Maximum guests is exactly as specified ...there is space for four . Isla Mujeres is 7 km long and 650 meters wide. Arrive by convenient taxi (6USD)or by golf cart(35 USD PER DAY) to THE SEASHELL HOUSE(S) PRIVATE GATED PROPERTY IN RESIDENTIAL ISLA MUJERES ISLAND ~ PRIVATE POOL ~ ONE KING BED IN EACH HOUSE The residential area is on a cliff side of the tiny island to allow privacy. You are not right in the middle of all the tourists but getting to the most beautiful beaches is easy with a golf cart or taxi. Of course, privacy is sometimes lost as tourists on golf carts notice the spectacular architecture and stop to gawk over the fence making you suddenly understand how celebrities feel. The smaller rounder shell has an immaculate KING BED and private bath with shower and a tv with a wide array of channels in English and in Spanish. The private bath with shower is made of tile and shells . The taller shell has a sitting area downstairs and KITCHENETTE with a large fridge, microwave, gas stovetop and sink with all the tools you need to enjoy meals . The round sitting area also has a tv with satellite channels. There is also a half bath off the sitting area. Up a rounded staircase is the master bedroom with a KING BED and private bath with shower. There is a balcony over looking the pool and across the street , the Caribbean Sea. Wifi is provided for free in the QUEEN CONCH Every room in the house has a remote controlled air conditioner. Towels - linens and soap are provided of course :) Ample parking for your golf cart or scooter. Tiny geckos make there home in and around the property, and all over Mexico, so if cute little geckos freak you out and will disturb your stay then do not come to the Seashell house. Come to Isla Mujeres for a vacation that you will never forget, one that you will have fond memories of all year long...until you come . The houses sleep FOUR PEOPLE TOTAL. There is one king bed in each house. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE HISTORY : In 1994 architect Eduardo Ocampo arrived in Isla Mujeres and built a house for himself (and later met his wife Maria Raquel) His brother Octavio Ocampo visited frequently, Eduardo had two pieces of land in a quaint residential area with caribbean sea views....and wished to build on his lot for his brother. Of course, this could not be any house. Octavio, a famous painter and needed something unique. Eduardo at first wanted a palala...but this was not allowed...having been very influenced by the "mountains" of seashells all around, he was inspired to actually construct a seashell. This would be the vacation home of his brother (in Cuernavaca) , it would be rounded on the inside, the spiral staircase... just inside the shell, a door where there was the mouth of the shell and windows with the form of shells THE LEGEND : Years later Eduardo would be tickled to learn that the islanders had created a sort of legend which goes like this ... The fisherman of Isla Holbox met with the fisherman of Isla Mujeres to boast of their individual islands...Isla Holbox sounded "Our island is where you find the biggest fish in the world !" The fisherman of Isla Mujeres responded "We are proud to have the biggest shell in the world !" The biggest shell ? Yes the biggest shell !!! When we found it we made ceviche for all of the islanders...and then we sold it to a gringo that lives in it now !" Though the owners are not gringos...they still laugh when they hear the legend. Guests can use the BBQ and parking lot . Raquel and her daughter Vanessa are at the adjacent property . If you cannot find her for your needs you may interact with cleaning or pool staff or leave a message . The neighborhood is beautifully peaceful and quiet . At night it is very dark and very serene . A golf cart is necessary as the Seashell House is located in a residential area. I serve to make your stay possible as I wanted to share it with the world but Raquel is the owner ... Please treat the homes with respect so that she continues to enjoy renting
Residential area of Isla Mujeres is unique..away from the tourists and busy hotels...you can enjoy the stars at night and be incredibly tranquil.

  • Staying in this property is a unique experience and Vanessa who met us on arrival was so incredibly helpful and welcoming. We really loved staying here and on the island. The property is in need of a little tlc in some places but overall these small things do not detract from being in such a special house on a fun island.

    Joanne2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • To put it simply: this house is a work of art that you can live in. It is truly unique/one-of-a-kind house. Inside has a Capadoccia cave dwelling feel, outside reminds( but does not resemble) white houses of Santornini. But, truly, in defies categorization. This is the one you have to see for yourself to appreciate fully.

  • We loved our stay at the Shell House. The creativity and the location were amazing and the hosts were exceptionally accommodating. We loved the private pool too. We highly recommend this place for a special getaway! You won't be disappointed.

AIRBNB'S #1 "MOST WISHED-FOR LISTING WORLDWIDE!" *Remaining 2018 dates are available exclusively for folks that have the treehouse on their WISH LIST... Suite of three beautifully furnished rooms set among the trees. Just minutes from downtown, this secluded property is an urban retreat like no other. The treehouse provides an intimate, simple and restful retreat for 2 people. The treehouse is the subject of innumerable articles, blogs, Treehouse Masters and Today Show.
We are honored to have been named Airbnb's "#1 most wish-listed property in the world"!!! Thank you! The treehouse has a Southern nature - gracious, calming, and comfortable. Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of TV and magazine features including the Today Show, "Treehouse Masters: Ultimate Treehouse IV", Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, and numerous others, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits? The treehouse consists of 3 separate areas - Mind, Body and Spirit - each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below. Mind - The Sitting Room: Antique furnishings and artifacts including 80 year old windows of pressed butterfly wings, a plaster cast of a Siberian Tiger paw, fossils, a couch and chairs, its a great place to read or talk and has a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods... Body - The Bedroom: Sleeps 2. What could be better than a great bed up in the trees? The super comfortable double bed is outfitted with the world's best bedding: Parachute. These cozy linens are made of 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton and pure Linen. They're Oeko-Tex certified, meaning no harmful chemicals or softening synthetics have been used. You'll have your best night's sleep ever here at the Treehouse! The bed is equipped with wheels so it can either be inside the room or rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below. The mattress has a warmer for cool nights and the tin roof makes rain storms something to be enjoyed. Spirit - The Hammock Deck: Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery, the deck surrounds the spirited "Old Man", a 165 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree--the largest of the 7 trees that support the treehouse suite and watch over its guests. BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. And while very private, you can see other residential buildings from the treehouses.. While you may hear the occasional siren, normal neighborhood noise, the devil's hair dryer (leaf blower) or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.
  • Katie and Peter took very good care of my nephew and his wife after I surprised them with a night at the tree house as a wedding gift, the day after their wedding. I knew they had a wonderful time after they posted their stay on Instagram. Thank You Katie and Peter for sharing your little secret oasis with us.

  • What could we say about the Tree Houses that hasn't been already posted or written on the guestbook? Magic, peace, nature, energy, architecture, trees, romance, hideaway, escape, recharge, are some of the words that come to mind, but they all have been said about already. The hosts are amazing people who share their special place in Atlanta with very fortunate guests. They have been able to strike a balance between nature and human made comforts. It lacks nothing and it has nothing extra... Every detail -from the trees, branches and leaves to the construction materials, the hammock, the ornaments, the hanging bridge and the sounds of nature and the city- everything seems to have been created specifically to hold a place here. Like pieces of a puzzle that were always meant to be together. A basket of wine and treats upon arrival, and fresh coffee in the morning, complete the experience. My husband and I hope to be back many times.

    Giovanna2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say to describe this place? I felt comfort and peace the moment I stepped inside. I came alone because I'm a widow and was hoping I wouldn't regret it but I didn't feel alone. I (Email hidden by Airbnb) ing from a big city I so needed this. It showed me that with the everyday loud, constantly rushing world of mine to cover my pain of loosing my husband is not good for me. Being alone is not always a bad thing. God has set this path for me and I now need to embrace what my life is now. This treehouse has given me the peace I have been starving for. Thanks Peter

  • Upon arrival we were filled with excitement. We could see the walkway leading to the tree house from the driveway. Katie was there to great us, as well as their adorable dog Daisy, and showed us around. It was everything I expected. The pictures are accurate. Even though it is in a neighborhood, the forest was thick and it felt private. We slept with the bed rolled out the first night and were awoken several times to animals strolling through the foliage on the ground. When we woke in the morning we were watching the birds and nature, when we spotted 2 young bucks stroll through. They spotted us as well. They stayed for about three hours. It was amazing! This place turns into magic around dusk, the lights and ambience is amazing! We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. I can now mark staying in a tree house off of my bucket list! I want to build one in my backyard, and find other tree houses to stay in. The decorations and surroundings make this place shine! Truly whimsical and calming. I loved the fact that we could put our luggage and belongings in the downstairs space of their house (where the bathrooms are located). It truly kept the tree house clutter free and just so untied to material things. I knew the tree house was in a neighborhood, so we heard all the neighborhood sounds. Kids playing, dogs barking etc. The only small complaint I would have was that all day Monday (Columbus day) all the neighbors were using generators to pressure wash and aerators etc. It lasted from early morning until dusk, so that was frustrating, as I just wanted to listen to the quiet BUT I knew this going into it and it was not the fault of the owners. This place is a hop, skip and a jump away from tons of restaurants and shopping etc. Super convenient. Overall this place was soul repairing, calming, reflective, peaceful and really helped us to reconnect. It was a once in a life time experience that I will never forget, and I wish I could come back every year! 3

  • Perfect place in the middle of the city. We were lucky enough to get the sound of rain at night. This place was magical and the host always made me feel safe. Thank you for sharing your wonderful tree house with the world. You are too kind.

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. It's as beautiful and charming as the pictures and description suggest. Katie and Peter were fantastic hosts. The day we were to check in was a a little bit cold and Peter had the heated mattress pad on and warmed up for us before we arrived. They even have a guest room in the house in case it gets too cold. But with the heated mattress pad we were nice and cozy in the treehouse. The wine Katie chose for us was fantastic. The breakfast was left in the sitting room and ready for us when we woke up. All around a truly wonderful experience!

    Maneesh2014-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience staying at the treehouse. Sleeping in the magical lights & waking up to a cup of coffee in the woods was an amazing way to spend my birthday. We are inspired to build a treehouse of our own some day. Thank you Katie & Peyer for letting us stay at the treehouse.

    Nisha2014-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the unforgettable experience! Peter is an amazing host. He introduced us to the oldest tree. He made sure we had everything we needed, gave us great restaurants suggestions on breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He even allocated a bedroom inside his house for our use! On top of it all, the house dog Daisy is so sweet! We stayed for two nights and the additional day and night made a lot of difference! We enjoyed our afternoon nap with the bed rolled out into the woods, taking in the sunlight, the breeze, the birds chirping, and the sound of leaves blowing in the wind. It rained on a day and it made our experience even more memorable. Peter's treehouse is magnificent! The location couldn't be more strategic- close to hip cafés and restaurants, and just minutes away from museums. Oh, as a plus, this is actually a three-interconnecting-treehouse! A living room, a bedroom, and a lounge. More like a private suite... :)

Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private deck surrounded by pristine and untouched nature just a short drive away from LA.
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down to its bare aluminum studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best breaks or go hike Sandstone Peak (Santa Monica's highest mountain). But whatever you do, make sure not to miss the incredible sunsets off our deck. At night, watch the milky way appear and count the constellations above or the moon reflect on the ocean below. And if the wind is right, listen to the sounds of the crashing waves travel up the canyon or even the seals barking down below. And then at dawn, if you're lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK ON THE AIRBNB LINK FOR DIRECTIONS as it might take you to the wrong location. Only use the accurate directions provided on our itinerary. If you don't you might get lost and we are not responsible if you do not follow our easy and foolproof directions. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are a mice in the Santa Monica mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the airstream if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the airstream but we do have 4 traps around the airstream so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. In three years we have yet to ever see a rattle snake near the airstream so the area is definitely not prone to them. This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to potential slippery road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. The beauty of this experience lies in seeing infinite views and yet no trace of humankind. Sleeping with the doors open, under the milky-way while hearing the ocean waves crashing below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack. Our guests have the most special nights here. Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology :-)
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.

  • I don't know if I can say enough positive words about the experience staying at this Airstream trailer. Christian answered all my questions promptly and offered his advice for local activities prior to check-in. The directions were easy to follow and lead you to the top of the Malibu hills where Christian met us for an easy check-in and overview of the trailer and surrounding area. The trailer itself is clean and nicely decorated just as in the pictures. The restrooms and shower were better than expected and offered a nice touch of the indoors. I have saved the best for last...the view. It was the most beautiful view I've seen in California. The deck offered front row seats to the sun setting over the ocean and the stars that can't be seen without escaping LA's lights. Absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for a unique getaway, this should be top of your list.

  • The place is incredible. Totally unique experience and worth every penny. Hope its available for years to come.

  • This was the most perfect setting. It's literally on top of the world, and you wake up in a cloud every single morning. It's peaceful, and the sunsets alone make it worth it. Everything inside was great, and we cooked dinner two nights. The bed was very comfortable, and while it gets a little warm inside, it was easy enough to just open the door a little bit. The bathrooms are wonderful, and the water was warm if we waited until the water had been in the sun a little bit. Keep in mind this is not a 5-star hotel, and you will be "glamping" - there was a mouse that showed up and there are bugs, since you're technically camping. But if you go in expecting that, it's absolutely wonderful. A huge white dog showed up on the deck one night - he was super friendly, but seemed to be afraid of men. He got lots of snuggles, and then went back to his house down the hill.

  • This is the most amazing experience I ever had. The place is super romantic, the views are breathtaking, the outside seats and beds are amazing for sunset watch and stargazing. The host is very responsive and prompt. One disadvantage, the road leading to the place is very dangerous and requires skilled off road driver. As soon as you start driving up the mountain you will lose cell coverage and (Hidden by Airbnb) map signal, so either have a satellite gps ready or use the directions very carefully.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. Would love to do it again. The mornings and evenings were surreal. The host was quick to answer any questions. Some little creatures, but hey your camping in their territory, so all good. Recommend a shower when you first arrive, water in the morning is pretty cold. We did have a white husky show up on the deck. The dog turned out to be friendly.

This experience is not like any other, Hideout is not some fancy hotel, it is truly an adventurous experience, rustic and authentic right in the middle of Balinese village life. Hideout is a perfect place for long-time travelers, lovers of nature, a spiritual-minded people, trekking-lovers, backpackers, artists, musicians, and eco-enthusiast to have their own unique Bali experience. We are most happy with environmentally thinking guests, who treat this little bamboo home with love and care. We would like to share with you some of our guest's experience as quick PROs & CONs when you consider staying in this little Hideout. PROs - Solitude. The nearest village is 500 meters far. - Fully equipped kitchen. You are your own master chef. - Scooter for free. - Music. Stereo system, ukulele, drum! - Hideout is also shelter for kittens, which is super cute and cuddly. You can also meet our friendly Hoki dog, if we are in the garden with her. - You can experience authentic Balinese lifestyle, cultural habits and observe many wonderful things in nature. CONs - You can’t lock the bamboo house, there are no secure doors. But there is a safe box installed. - From time to time, villagers need to use the river for bathing (naked), washing clothes and performing ceremonies. - Hideout is part of local nature, our cleaning standards are at the highest, but that doesn't stop occasional insect, frog or mouse from visiting the house. Please consider this before booking. - Did you know that spider can make a new web in under 1 hour? With our biggest efforts to keep the houses perfect and insect free, you have to expect that there will be some spiders, some bugs and some mosquitos. That is just nature and we can't do anything more for it. :) - The Internet is very poor and sometimes not working at all. We recommend being prepared for the off-the-grid experience. - There are cats and dogs living on the property and visiting Hideouts daily. They are all vaccinated and well behaved. Don´t book Hideouts, if you have an allergy or if you don´t want to be close to the animals. - We are not a hotel, we don't offer hotel services or 24/7 reception. We are true Airbnb experience. :) Because the house is located near river and rice fields you will be in touch with nature. That's why is Hideout most suitable for guest which enjoy animals and are not afraid of a little bit of the wildlife. :) If you have any questions regarding living animals, please ask us in advance. The building has two floors, on the first floor, you can find a neat, fully equipped kitchen, cozy living/relaxing area (with extra hanging hammock), big wardrobe with safety box, bathroom, and entrance to the outdoor shower. On the second floor, there is a spacious bedroom, providing king size bed with mosquito net (and extra bed 140cm - no mosquito net) all possible to accommodate up to 4 adults if needed. Right in front of the unique triangular window, there is large lounge bean bag for reading, cuddling and relaxing, the perfect place for meditation or playing a musical instrument, all with direct view to the shimmering river. Bamboo is well-known for its temperature stability, thanks to natural ventilation, there is no need for AC or a fan. There are no secure doors in the bamboo house, you can't really lock the house, don't be afraid though this is a very safe area. Recently we had an amazing time cooperating with SUKU Home. We are very grateful for this happy cooperation, thanks to the amazing collective behind SUKU Home products, our guests have the pleasure to experience their super smooth Bamboo beddings in Hideout. Ultra soft and delicate bedding made from 100% Bamboo Rayon, carefully & individually hand-dyed using a traditional batik technique. Hand sewn and made with love. Bamboo-derived rayon is softer than any high thread count cotton. They also have naturally antibacterial properties, making them great for anyone with sensitive skin. These sheets will keep you cool even in the hottest night. No AC required. :)
Hideout is in walking distance from a resort where you can have a lovely dinner in the restaurant with unforgettable view to Gunung Agung. You can easily reach many traditional small shops / warung. Beware that the nearest ATM is from a local bank, it only accepts Mastercard. International ATM is about 35 minutes by car away - do come prepared! There are so many things to explore around - by foot or by bike. Just to mention.. you can go trekking through the rice fields, you can climb Gunung Agung, visit Tirta Gangga, Ujung Temple, go snorkeling or diving, visit night market, visit shaman or local temples, go to experience Pura Besakih, have a wild day of rafting and many more.
  • First of all wanna say a big thanks to ali for building hideout so i can have the exp to stay there with a very nature place. I love every perfect detail that she put, like soft towel, soft bed cover, pillow, etc. everything is very comfortable. she is very concern with detail. pro: - I love the environment - A very stress relief place - Have many things inside the house so you wont feel bored - Very instragramable - Comfortable for every equipment inside - wont be enough for only two days - very big toilet and its like showering in a jungle lol cons: - Cant close the toilet’s door - its not that i dont like cat but i dont like when i cant leave any food for awhile because the cat will eat that. It’s like -always hungry cat-. Then they leave a bad smell maybe because of their poop or mouse that they ate. - The other thing is about privacy. The neighborhoods is around the hideout and can see directly to our place, especially bathroom. So we cant shower privately. - so many things has spider web like hanger, door, etc. i know it is nature so its very normal to have bugs, if the spider web is not that much is still normal, but with so much spider web around means that it is rarely used and cleaned. So we need to wash it again to use it. Overall i love this place and will consider to stay there again later..

  • Had the most incredible stay at the Hideout. Everything here was just as I imagined if not better. The nature and peace around has left me feeling refreshed. Missing waking up to the sound of the flowing river. The food there was amazing and Kiki the cat was the best companion I could of asked for. Thank you!

    Anita2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at the Hideout was fantastic. It was the perfect area to wind down after our adventures in Ubud the days before. Just us and nature and the beautiful refuge of the Hideout and its gardens. The river offers wonderful background noise for a solid night of sleep. The pets (Kiki the cat and Boga the dog) are so friendly and provide great company while you lounge around the grounds. Wayan the caretaker is awesome. He made delicious banana pancakes and strong coffee for us every morning of our stay. If we wanted another meal at any point we'd just needed to give him the heads up and order from this little menu and he's deliver it to us. He kept the area amazingly clean and was only a quick call away with any other needs. One downfall: the wifi here is nonexistent. You will need to head to a nearby resort, Great Mountain View Resort (the place delivers on its name), to get any wifi. The restaurant area is open from 8am-9pm but BE WARNED, my wife and I both got food poisoning at GMV restaurant on our last day/night. Upon talking to Wayan about this, he said 4 others tenants of the Hideout have gotten sick from the food there, so avoid eating there. Grab a beer, coffee or tea and just enjoy the view and get your wifi needs taken care of. The Hideout is amazing and you will not regret your time in the quiet, unplugged serenity of its grounds.

  • What a wonderful place this is. Do glad we had the opportunity to stay although it was only fir one night.

  • Met by Wayan and Alena's male friend , sorry firget his name, both very welcoming.

    Janine2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • You must REALLY love bugs and nature. The space is obviously so unique and fantastic. There are no true doors, so you have to be prepared for a ton of mosquitoes, regular ants, huge ants, bees, wasps, flies, etc. We even had ants in our bed despite never having any food upstairs. It’s not a cleanliness issue, but simply because you’re in nature and the space can’t be sealed. The river has garbage in it and at times smelled like sewage and garbage so we didn’t go for a swim. The hospitality was wonderful and Ali put a lot of effort into the Hideout manual book, which we found to be so helpful. The cat also came by a lot and climbed onto everything. She also brought a dead frog to eat on our floors. She’s a wild cat and comes and goes as she pleases, so you have to be prepared for that. If you’re fully aware of the space and situation, you’ll have a great time!

  • The hideout is definitely appropriately named! What an amazing, relaxing, and beautiful spot. We only spent two nights but enjoyed every aspect of this place. There were locals in the river, as described, but we still felt so secluded and private. The dogs and cat are super friendly and made for a nice addition! Great kitchen set up and everything you need is right at the hideout. The outdoor bathroom was so great. Hope we have a chance to visit again!

  • Hideout was amazing! Most definitely the highlight of our trip. Wayan toke amazing care of us and the owner Elena was super helpful with arrangements and directions. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the busy side of Bali.

  • The All Bamboo house was really stunning! Everything looks exactly like in photos or even better! I have never felt more relaxed than I felt here, enjoying every sound around and the view to valley and river. You can really forget everything and just have some time to yourself or with your beloved ones. It's a really romantic place, so it's nice for couples. But it's also great for small groups up to 8 or families. I am not sure about small kids, this house might ask more attention to kids due to safety. The service and the staff was great, the food was really good. You don't have much to do around there, but it is a place to relax, do nothing and experience the magnificence of the house. I am recommending everyone, it really is a unforgettable must see (or must feel the magic) place!

I got a good story to tell,这该已是精品酒店核心价值之一,在good story的封面下,又有多少住客愿意去reading between the lines呢。

  • The Sunrise Bamboo Home is as magnificent in person as it is in the pictures...and perhaps moreso. You can't really get a sense for the "feel" of the beautiful design and energy of the space through pictures alone. The staff was highly attentive, friendly, and accommodating. They will make you feel at home, as Sunrise Bamboo is but one of 12-13 houses on the property that they help manage. If you are a bugger for privacy, you may want to speak to Sutini upon your arrival and express (Website hidden by Airbnb) the staff checks in with your place quite regularly, especially if you order food to your home and plan on taking advantage of some of the trips they have to offer.

Located in the coffee region, in the Andean mountains of Colombia, South America, a charming cabana made from bamboo, with a great view and a "sendero" or pathway through the bamboo forest which criss-crosses our 5 acre organic farm, leading down to a stream. A place to relax and commune with nature.
Surrounded by beautiful rainforest plants, strategically placed for privacy, with an outdoor shower in a garden. Commune with nature, listen to crickets and night and birds in the morning. Situated on a small organic farm. We grow tropical fruits and trees, flowers, with aloe vera as our main crop. There is an enchanting pathway through our bamboo forest, leading down to a mountain stream and a small waterfall. Near many coffee region tours and attractions, including our own organic farming workshops, visiting a nearby bee farm where our neighbor propagates bees in danger of extinction, local coffee tours, butterfly emporium, hang gliding, zip lining, white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, visiting nearby historic towns and world heritage sites.
We are situated in the heart of the coffee region in the Andean mountains in Colombia. We are in "Vereda La Pradera" neighborhood, near the small town of "El Caimo", 20 minutes from Armenia and 20 minutes from the airport, by car. Close enough for comfort and easy access, far enough from the hustle of traffic and city noise that you can commune with nature. Sleep to the sound of the crickets and awaken to the sound of birds.

Appearing in numerous books on natural building, our cottage is a welcoming and cozy retreat hand sculpted of local, sustainable natural materials located on a lovely acreage with sheep, gardens and orchards.
Our neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. We are a ten minute walk from the beach and a twenty minute walk, in the other direction, to a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce, as well as galleries, a bookstore, and a spa.
  • The cob cottage was cute, cozy, clean and comfortable. The property provides an idyllic setting of forest and farm animals. The kitchen was well equipped for simple meal preparation and we appreciated the fresh eggs, milk, bread, tea and coffee. We had everything we needed, including clean towels, lots of blankets and cushions, books, firewood, candles and even a jar of "sheep treats". We would definitely go again.

  • So welcoming, and its' the perfect setting! Love the farm, Alexis is truly a special person! Love the Island and all the friendly people on it. Great for biking, hiking, sitting by a fire, reading a book, or just relaxing. A perfect little gem on a gem of an island.

    Susan2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I loved this place! Alexis was very friendly and helpful. She left us fresh eggs, butter and banana bread. The cob house is adorable! It was so relaxing in the evening lighting the fireplace, candles and listening to the frogs outside. The island is beautiful and everyone is very friendly. My wife wants to move to Canada now because of all the wonderful people and the great experiences we have had visiting Mayne, Victoria and Vancouver. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the cob house to friends and family.

  • Alexis & Manny's cob cabin is wonderful - peaceful, stunningly beautiful in it's natural forms and materials, bright, light, and surrounded by tall trees. Well appointed with handmade furniture, books, internet, a range, mini fridge and a really cool food cellar, this place is the perfect hobbit house. Far back off the road, we feel secluded and immersed in Mayne Island nature. We are on a longer term stay at the cabin, and I have to say, any thing less than a week is a disservice to yourself - there is so much to do here - we've spun wool from Alexis' sheep, helped with the potato harvest, and picked fresh blackberries almost every day from the giant bush in front of the cabin. Living in tune with nature has done much good for us. alexis and Manny have a wonderful blend of helpful/ social / friendly, but also give us plenty of space and privacy. Basically - the perfect hosts. I can't recommend this place enough!

    Jessica & Brian2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A true gem. The cottage is well-built, and Alexis’ décor is charming and classy. Everything was clean, comfy, and stocked with all kinds of welcoming extras (fresh-cut yard flowers, firewood/kindling, a baked loaf, eggs, butter, granola, tea etc.). There are quality wool blankets, fun pillows, books, and even treats to feed the sheep (who eat right from your hand if you’d like!). Alexis went out of her way to accommodate us (and an atypical request), and struck a perfect balance between friendliness and providing ample privacy. The cottage will well-suit anyone with fantastical and eco inclinations, and I recommend it highly!

  • We had a magical cozy weekend at the cob house. Alexis and Manny were beyond lovely, they were so kind and welcoming to us! Their hospitality made our weekend even better than we could have imagined. The cottage is a dream, with warm bread and blankets, little patios for star watching, sheeps and chickens to watch and a little wood stove for fires. We were so sad to have to leave, and hope we can return someday soon and I can finally learn to knit :)

    Lisa2014-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the Cob Cottage. The cottage is very cozy and the location is very quiet. We really had fun staying there. The extras (banana bread, eggs and milk) provided by the host were great. The rustic decors blend in very well with the cottage. We also enjoyed reading the various books provided there.

In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, an Electric Water Kettle, a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $155. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $310. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $41 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $42. So for the weekend, it will be a total of about $428. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 11 people living here in a rather loose community.
  • Great time to get away and just enjoy the surroundings. Kitty and Michael were very welcoming and made us feel right at home.

  • Like your own private tree house (but with heat and running water : ) We loved the quiet and beauty of this cute little place that overlooks a stand of redwoods. The host was lovely and generous. We will definitely go back in the future.

  • I stayed in the Mushroom with my girlfriend for only one day, and it was a pretty magical one. Like most reviews say, Kittie greeted us warmly and showed us the cabin, then showed us around the property, introduced us to her three friendly goats, and to her beautiful chickens! She brought us a jar of fresh goats milk, which we drank, and put in our coffee and oatmeal in the morning. She showed us where to walk around the property, and told us some things to do in town. The cabin was stocked with everything you'd need, including cooking utensils, spices and olive oil. The shower was the most surprising part - nicer than my shower at home, certainly! The cabin had a comfortable, cozy, sort of magical feel, and I'm sorry we couldn't stay an other day. I only wish I'd gotten to thank her on our way out!

  • Wonderfully charming and very rustic! Had a marvelous short overnight stay. There are chickens, goats, cats and hundreds of hummingbirds on the property (along with a few tenants too). The hosts are very friendly, but not intrusive. Kitty gave me fresh goat's milk and whey (from her cheese making ventures), which I'm thoroughly enjoying. The cabin is small, but can easily accommodate 2 people. Although you'll need to climb a ladder to get to the bed. It's well appointed and even has a BBQ and rocker on the porch. I learned about their 'brown water bog' which was something I'd never heard of. All in all it was a great experience and I wish I had been able to stay longer~ I'd definitely return! Thank You~!!

  • We had an excellent stay in this Cabin. Kitty is a wonderful host.

    Bharat2014-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say that has not been said about Kitty and her magical space? It was such a profoundly unique experience to on her lovely property where there is solitude as well as beauty! The space was small but accommodated my family of three perfectly as well as our friend! The deck made it feel very spacious and open and we really enjoyed grilling out one night. Kitty was so sweet to let my 5 year old daughter help milk and feed the goats and play will all the animals... She also gave us some goat milk which tasted so wonderful in the fair-trade organic coffee. We had a wonderful stay and although we are locals we hope the return in the near future.

  • Kitty was such a great host and made our stay not only enjoyable but filled with new experiences! We were able to enjoy the hummingbirds and goats and had fun interacting with her dogs and cats as well. Kitty graciously showed us different parts of the property and was a very engaging host. The cabin was neat, clean, and definitely as described, with various amenities such as popcorn, sparkling cider, a great selection of movies, etc. Even though it was fairly cold outside, it was nice and toasty inside. There were different places to explore on the property and we did a short hike on a trail after it rained. We weren't sure how to get onto the internet, but since we were doing a lot of catching up, we didn't ask --- I'm sure that Kitty would have been able to provide it had we done so. None of us had cell phone reception at the cabin (AT&T and Verizon) so just a note if you need to be in communication with people while away. It was great for us to be disconnected and spent time catching up with each other instead of on our phones. Would love to get back up here and spent another night if possible!

  • The advertised photo's make the dome look expansive and secluded, however, we were unpleasantly surprised to find that this was not case. After spending what seemed like eternity brushing through endless trivial rules, the host finally left us alone. Yeah the dome may have been cool, but HIGHLY OVERRATED AND PRICED. There is nothing exceptional, special or out of ordinary about this listing so I would think twice before forking over $160 plus I almost the forgot the "transient taxes"- which of course have to be collected in tax.

Enjoy peace, quiet, and beautiful views in Cazadero. For each rental, $50 will be donated to Raphael House, a San Francisco organization whose goal is to help at-risk families achieve stable housing and financial independence.
This little a-frame cabin would make a productive retreat for an artist, writer, or musician, or a romantic getaway. Surrounded by redwoods on a private road in Cazadero, my cabin is an hour and forty-five minutes north of San Francisco: a roughly ten-minute drive to the beautiful Sonoma Coast, and just fifteen minutes to Guerneville and wine country in the other direction. Head west and you’ll hit the charming town of Duncans Mills; go east to Monte Rio, and catch a movie at the historic Rio Theater. The full bed sleeps one or two comfortably. No TV or microwave; yes record player, wood-burning stove, equipped kitchen, and lots of cookbooks. The backyard is sunny and sloping with a view. There’s a table and bench on the deck for al fresco dining. And there’s speedy wireless Internet, too.
  • Where to start? My 2 day airbnb trip to this a-frame was nothing short of incredible. Very close to the beautiful town of Jenner (cliffs that meet the ocean, seal breeding bay, and the best damn sunset the US has to offer), a quaint diner, and a scenic drive from Russian river brewing. the cabin itself is remarkable, the detail is perfected down to the book collection and glassware. cozy bed, in-ground shower (what!? right?), large back porch. all of our needs were met, plenty of towels, blankets, firewood, and coffee for us. it was an absolute pleasure, and such a magical place. Very hard to part when we left. Rachel was very easy to get ahold of and great to communicate with. Next time we journey out towards northern California again I will not hesitate to be back at this spot! I do recommend driving to this location in daylight, since there are a few tight corners along the mountain. Skate park nearby if you're into it. A million "thank you"s to Rachel, you made our vacation, tenfold.

    Jess2015-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was utterly charming -- exactly what we were looking for. The location was perfect -- right in the woods in a quiet meadow, and a convenient 10-minute drive from both Guerneville and the beach. The cabin itself was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and even included a guitar, ukekele, well-stocked library, and record player + extensive record collection (Paul Simon! Neil Young! Beatles!). The bed was extremely comfortable, too (and hard to get out of). We ate breakfast in the sun on the porch. It was very easy communicating with Rachel and she was available via both email and text, although minimal communication aside from check-in information was required. Hope to stay at her cabin again as it was quite a memorable trip!

    Ben2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect escape! Rachel was wonderful and we loved staying in her beautifully appointed cabin. It was just what we were hoping for. Woodsy and remote but close to the ocean, river and great little towns. The nearby beaches she recommends are stunning. We also loved sitting at the big table on the porch, perfect for a picnic. All the little details are just right and we cannot wait to go back!

    Rebecca2014-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fab! 2nd time staying there, everything was awesome.

    Rachel2014-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience - we had lots of fun! Enjoyed the stereo and vinyl records and loved the seclusion! Would love to make it back some time!

    Brian2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing and magical experience at the a frame cabin! What a perfectly designed hideout in the woods. We loved the record collection, the selection of books, and the fully equipped kitchen. I would recommend this place to anyone. One of the best air bnbs I've stayed in!

    Travis2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The A-Fream in the woods was a delight to stay at! Comfortable and cozy, perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking, wine tasting or spa-ing nearby. The location was perfect for both coastal & wine country adventures. Streams of natural light are a welcome wake up and nightfall can be paired with spinning records. Thoroughly enjoyed using it as our Russian River base.

    Laura2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The best way to describe our stay at in The A frame was peaceful! Very clean and has everything you’ll need for a weekend stay. Make sure you check out Gold Coast coffee/bakery and the general store in Duncan Mills! The perfect weekend getaway for two! Thanks Rachel!

  • Staying in a castle was something on my bucket list- so I had pretty high expectations! And, staying here exceeded those expectations! We loved our experience in the castle, and the staff was very friendly. We rented a car and drove here from Manchester then drove to London. I highly recommend this-the drive is beautiful. I wish we could have stayed more than one night, but even the one night was completely worth it. This place is great for kids, teens, no kids, weddings, honeymoons, family reunions, etc. Loved it!!!

The Off-grid itHouse brings together raw industrial aesthetics with the tactics of green design to forge a new home in the sunbaked wilds of the California high desert.
The Off-grid itHouse is an architecturally significant house, recently noted by Dwell as one of the 'Best Homes in America' and in the Los Angeles Times as one of the best houses of all time in Southern California. The Off-grid itHouse is one of 10 IT Houses built in California, which have received much acclaim such as the Western Home award sponsored by Sunset magazine. Also noted as one of the top 10 airbnb rentals worldwide. This is the prototype for the pre-engineered system known as the IT House. The house is 100% off-grid, powered by solar panels for energy and hot water, and is located in a pristine remote valley in the beautiful California high desert. The house observes key green principals of smaller footprint, minimal disturbance to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, use of renewable resources, and living simply and minimally. The setting of the house is remote and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions. Amazing views and vistas in all directions. Perfect for design or green aficionados, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway.
Located in Pioneertown, CA, nearby several unique attractions, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace, local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, the Integratron, and other seasonal events.
  • Just returned from our 3 nights stay. What an unforgettable experience. We didn't want to leave. Though the weather was overcast and the days were short we never ran out of energy to cook a wonderful meal (keep it simple) or take a hot shower. The refrigerator is the size of a dishwasher so shop wisely. Everything was top of the line including the bedding, towels, toiletries. Linda was absolutely a great host providing excellent instructions that were detailed and relevant. Bring a GPS to mark your location upon arrival so trips in and out for food etc is brainless. We took hikes everyday in the endless backyard of desert. With snow in the mountains and an ever changing light to the view out every window, it was hard to leave. Recommendation: No coffeemaker (only espresso machine) for which we could not find refills. Bring your own coffee and coffee press if you can't live with instant coffee. Ample spices, cooking oil and pantry items. One of the best stocked kitchens I've had the pleasure to use. On our short list to come back again.

    Christine2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I don't even know where to begin. The itHouse is a dream. Waking up in the master bedroom couldn't have been more serene. Every single detail about this house has inspired me to re-evaluate how I'm living and how I can do it better. We arrived on a cloudy day to a powerless house, which Linda warned us about. She helped us through getting the generator up and running which brought the electricity back quite quickly and for the rest of our stay. The way this house runs makes you appreciate what we all take for granted every single day and really forces you to conserve energy. If only we were all like this in our everyday lives. Imagine the relief it would give to the planet?! If you're looking to truly disconnect and re-center yourself, this is the place for you. If you can't live without TV or the Internet on your vacation, you won't find what you're looking for here. It's so remote that you have to climb a hill to get service, so you go to bed under the light of the stars instead of the glow of your phone and you wake up and quickly realize social media won't be the first thing you're going to see - instead you get the 360 degree view of the desert wilderness - lizards and rabbits and land squirrels right outside your window - OH MY. How refreshing! I dream of the day I get to go back. Thank you for building this truly special, thoughtful and gorgeous house.

    Lana2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • It-house is just an amazing place in the middle of nowhere.. Our two children – 6 and 10 – really enjoyed the 3 nights of our stay there. I recommend it to everyone to spend two or three days there.. You’ll get in a totally different world, but still with all comfort that you have in normal life No doubt, this is a wonderful getaway for those who want to try something different while still living in comfort.

    Jean Baptiste2012-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! I think it is fantastic that Linda makes her place available through Airbnb -- it gives us a chance to really try on and experience great architecture and a beautiful setting.

    Jd2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Being that often on the front site of airbnb is great but Linda deserves it. The off grid it-House is an architectural masterpiece. Delightful embedded in the stunning nature. The house is furnished in the best of taste. It’s a fantastic hideaway unfortunately several thousands miles away from me – otherwise I would love to be back again as soon as possible. Linda was very helpful concerning all issues and instructions are clear. The house is easy to find – bring your books along, lay back and relax.

    Dominik2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this house that hasn't already been said by others? The location is amazing - just secluded enough to make you feel like you're truly in the middle of nowhere, but not so secluded as to make a city dweller like me feel too uncomfortable. And it's nice having a decent-sized town just about 15 minutes away, in case you don't buy enough firewood the first time around! We spent most of our daytime in the National Park, and we didn't have any issues with loss of power in the evenings or at night, even after a good amount of cooking and running the dishwasher. Having enough hot water for four people to shower after a long day of hiking was a bit of a challenge, but we were able to make it work as long as we all used our strictest water conservation techniques (turn it off when soaping up, make haste, etc.). The indoor fireplace was great and did a really good job of heating up the entire house - we used the outdoor fireplace one night, as well, and those who stayed in the larger bedroom felt pretty overheated that night. As others have said, there is no freezer in the kitchen, but there is a good-sized fridge. Someone mentioned being able to see an RV parked near the property - we noticed it, too, but it was far enough away that it didn't bother us (and it's not parked in an area that would be able to see into either bedroom). I do think it's important to mention the dirt road, though - it can be pretty rough in some areas, so if you don't have a truck or SUV, just be aware. Our Jetta wagon did fine, but I definitely wouldn't want to drive down that road in a Smart car or anything that's low to the ground (it's about two miles of dirt road). So, if you have the opportunity, stay here!! Even just three nights in the house is such a great experience.

    Mary2014-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing place I've stayed in my life. The setting is phenomenal, you feel like you're sleeping outside with the expansive views from the bedroom. The fire orb was super clutch to generate warmth in the evening. Outside fireplace was a nice touch you don't necessarily pick up on from the listing. Linda's instructions were very detailed and helpful in terms of gaining access to the property and information regarding how to make the sustainable solar energy source last throughout a cloudy evening. Top shelf, 10 star experience. Do it.

    Brian2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic 3-night stay at the house. As we were on our way, Linda contacted us to let us know that there was a fire in the area. She kept us well informed and pointed us in the right direction for further news. The house is the perfect place for relaxing - no clutter, well equipped, a beautiful panoramic view over the valley and outdoor chairs to admire it. A unique and highly recommended experience!

casaBARTHEL is a perfect place for a vacation and an artist residency, immersed in the Tuscan landscape only twenty minutes’ from the Duomo and one hour from Siena. Come and live with us: enjoy our olive trees, the kitchen garden, the tennis court and the small swimming pool. The TREEhouse is a romantic room immersed in the pine trees with fire place for the winter and AC for the summer. It offers a bedroom with a queen size bed, a small kitchenette with stove and fridge; a bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor terrace. And a fantastic view towards the Tuscan landscape! And if you want to see and know more about our passion for the interior design, the arts and crafts, and antiques you should come visit our design and make shop ‘Riccardo Barthel’ in Via dei Serragli n. 234 r, in the Santo Spirito district of Florence! At the beginning of the 1980 our family moved into the ‘Poggio Secco’ (Dry Hill) farmhouse, just outside Florence city center, in front of the Certosa dell’Ema. The compound had a big stone villa surrounded by olive trees, a compost hub, a pigeon house, a barn, a tall cypress tree and an old German shepherd dog. Everything in the farm was placed around a large terracotta courtyard, a sort of public square. Thirty years later the ‘Dry Hill’ is still our home and a small community that includes my mum Daniela, my brother Francesco and his wife Maria, aunt and uncle Sandra and Nanni, the 90 year old grandmother Emilia, me and my husband Andrew. We all live here sharing the same love for the countryside, its olive oil, good food and the family lifestyle! The rent includes the use of the communal swimming pool and the tennis court; the dining porch with the BBQ and the wooden oven; dryer and washer; table tennis and football table, plus a car parking inside the property. We are glad to interact with our guests; you will be part of our large family! Galluzzo is a nice small village with everything you need:crocery stores and a nice farmers market open every day. The certosa monastery is a must. Le Corbusier was there to learn! There are public busses in Galluzzo to go to the city center and to go to Siena. But to get to our house and to enjoy the surrounding you should come by car! IMPORTANT!!!Hello to all my future guests! FOR A LIMITED NUMBER OF GUESTS 20% discount is available for entire stay! • What a magical place, even better than I imagined! Teresa and Daniella were so helpful and awesome!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in Casa Barthel for a relaxing and romantic night and it certainly did not disappoint!! We were met at the gate by a lovely woman by the name of Teresa who helped with our bags and led us to the tree house. The grounds on which the tree house resides are absolutely beautiful and the view is second to none!! The tree house itself was incredible--like nothing we've ever seen before. It is well decorated and truly an experience to stay in. In the morning Teresa greeted us with croissants and helped us call our cab so we could reach our train. Overall this was our best AirBnb stay yet and we truly hope one day we can come back!

  • We stayed with Elena for 2 nights of our Italian Honeymoon, and wished we could have stayed for more! When we arrived they had recently completed the addition of an in-ground pool which was beautiful. One thing that I was pleasantly surprised by was how close everything was on the property - the treehouse was very close to both the pool and the tennis court. The experience was an absolute highlight of our trip. We did NOT have a car with us, which made things a bit tricky in terms of leaving the grounds, so word to the wise - grocery shop before you arrive at the treehouse so you can just relax and stay!

  • The treehouse was a truly romantic and unique place to stay. My most resounding memory was leaving the blinds open intentionally to be woken up by a glorious sunrise, all from the comfort of our lovely bed. Everything in the treehouse is well thought out and beautifully designed - it is a quirky, fun, and gorgeous place to stay in. Elena was also brilliant - she suggested two lovely restaurants, with our favourite being Il Milione, only a few minutes drive away - you simply must visit it! Thank you!

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in our accommodations. There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • We had an amazing stay! Denise was a lovely hostess who really made us feel welcome! Beers upon arrival, champagne in the fridge, and tons of great suggestions for local dining and activities. The silo was beautiful and romantic and quaint. The gardens were stunning and well kept, a lovely place to sit and read for hours. The kitties were friendly and so cute! We will be back!!

    Gretchen2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived on the later side of check in, (after 8pm) but that was not a problem for Denise. She graciously escorted us back to the cottage. When we entered the cottage the pellet stove kept the room toasty warm. Denise informed us on the "how to" information about the property and left us a bottle of red wine to enjoy. The property was setup exactly how it was listed and we found the location to be centrally located for our purpose. We had a wonderful time exploring the area and returning to our little remote cottage each evening. Although we were not far from home this place makes you feel as though you are. We are looking forward to our next visit.

  • Denise was an amazing hostess! She was very easy to communicate with and made my boyfriend and me feel so very welcome at her estate. The silo cottage was just amazing. We had everything we needed - and she saw to it. :) The cottage was very clean - very warm! We had a fire stove to heat the silo and that was really all we needed. She also showed us how to use the heated mattress in case we got too cold at night. She was so gracious, and staying at her cottage was truly perfect. She offered to give us a tour of the grounds/gingerbread house. She had the BEST suggestions of places to go to eat, as well as to hike. We adore her and the silo cottage! We hope to visit in the summer/fall to experience this in a whole new way! She also offered to give us an early check-in since she didn't have guests the previous evening, as well as a late check out. :) So kind! Thank you, Denise! Hope to see you again soon!

  • Absolutely amazing experience, every moment was perfect. I cannot begin to describe how great Denise was as a host. You would be missing out on a great opportunity by not staying at least a couple nights in the Silo Studio Cottage.

    Connor2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We originally booked for the Silo Studio Cottage. It was first day of the spring. But it snowed and weather is really cold. So Denise offered the lovely Red country house to us because Silo Studio is not warm enough during the snow. It was a lovely, cozy and charming house. The heat was enough and we love the style of decoration. We did some light cooking in the house and they got all the equipment we need. There are three or four bedrooms in the house. We stayed in the big master room with private bathroom. There are also plenty of public space in the house as well. We also went to check the Silo Studio Cottage. It is just as the picture show on the website. With a big window in the bedroom facing outside, it would be a wonderful experience in the summer.

  • This weekend I went through the looking glass and found myself in an enchanting place of whimsical beauty. Not one corner of the Santarella estate was ordinary. There is a soul and a story everywhere you look. Every pale stone, lush garden, and spiraling wood was tended to by our wonderful host Denise and her kindhearted husband. They brought the warmth that you'd expect from such a charming abode. Every accommodation was met. All the information one could need was provided. Denise went above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. Also Bidi, the estates guard-cat, was always available for a quick belly-rub and/or back scratch. I will never forget my stay the Santarella estate, and I am most certainly anticipating another visit in the not-so-distant future.

  • Denise was a wonderful and friendly host, she walked us through everything we needed to know and was very helpful. The space was so fun and cozy, it made for a memorable New Years adventure! Already thinking about a return trip!

    Cait2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The studio cottage was truly magical. It felt like staying in a little elf house! The pellet stove kept the whole place pretty toasty. While the upstairs bedroom did get a bit cool, the mattress warmer and down comforter were more than adequate for a warm nights' sleep. The area is particularly gorgeous in the fall. Denise and her husband were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The buildings are a bit closer together than I thought they'd be, but overall it was a lovely place for us to have our honeymoon!

Red cinder leads you through the dense jungle to your secluded bamboo treehouse. Nestled on top of stilts 15' up in the canopy of the local flora, ascend to your retreat via the trapdoor or begin your adventure in Volcano National Park 10 miles away.
Upon arrival, let the red cinder path be your yellow brick road as you are lead through the jungle to your personal paradise. At ground level you will encounter a hanging bed, suspended beneath the floor of your new living quarters. Stop and relax or continue up the staircase to the trapdoor. It is through this trapdoor that you are allowed access to the lanai amongst the canopy of trees. A beautiful wrap around lanai allows for a 360 degree view of the lush jungle, while two sliding glass doors grant access to the bedroom. Upon entering, you will notice that the generous windows and doors allow for natural sunlight to flood into the house, complementing the bamboo fixtures and vintage 1970s wallpaper that backs the bed. The white bed linens reflect the light giving a dreamy, cloud-like aura to the space. There is counter stocked with a local coffee and snacks nestled into a corner of the house and overlooked by the handcrafted porthole windows. Bamboo backed cubby holes and hangers furnish the wall behind you and create an elegant, minimalist closet space for you to store your personal items for the duration of your stay. Just past the closet is a sliding door that accesses one of the most fun areas of the house: the bathroom. The bathroom jalousie windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling and the horizontal glass plates open up, creating an indoor-outdoor effect. Naturally caught rainwater cascades from the large shower head above before disappearing into the floor boards below. You'll notice that the natural theme spills over into the bathroom with sustainable cork board backing the shower and air plants intermittently growing throughout. The toilet and hand-made rock sink in the corner make use of grey water eco-principles by allowing you to wash your hands with fresh water before it goes on to fill the bowl. One of the most fun aspects of this property is that it allows you the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts of normal life. Natural lighting, solar power and rain water catchment are the three principles that have been integrated into this tree top design, making it almost like a living organism itself. The beauty of this high flying haven is in the details. I spent the better part of three months personally constructing the building as well as the accessories inside. My goal was to create a customized and secluded space for your occasion. The chandelier, hanging lights, port-hole windows, rock sink and platform bed were all DIY projects that I specifically created to enhance your experience. The bamboo pillars that 'support' the lanai and the moss carpet under the hanging bed were harvested from local areas on the Big Island. IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE MAKING A RESERVATION Don't worry, the capital letters are just to emphasize importance. I'm not mad at you. But please read this entire section before making a reservation. As lush and inviting as the Dreamy Tropical Treehouse is, there are inevitable 'challenges' that come with staying in an off-grid treehouse in the Hawaiian jungle. My goal is give you an experience that combines adventure and luxury so I want to make sure that you are aware of the following things: 1. The treehouse is about 15-feet off the ground and is only accessible by the 'ladder-stairs'. 'Ladder-stairs' is just another way of saying 'very steep' stairs. There is a hand railing and none of my visitors have ever had a problem going up and down. There is a pulley system for hoisting up your bags. Only those who believe they are physically capable should book a stay. Just remember to go up and down facing them... like a ladder! 2. The running water comes from the rain falling on the roof and is not treated; therefore, the water is not potable. I will provide several bottles of drinking water. 3. The electricity you use is generated by sunlight and is stored in a battery. Once the battery runs out of power it has to recharge. This shouldn’t happen but just be mindful not to leave lights or power hungry items running for extended periods of time (No hairdryers). The windows allow for plenty of light during the day. 4. This is the rainy side of the Big Island so expect some showers! Realize that the pitter-patter on the roof is the rain's first stop on its journey to the water tanks and then to your shower. Also notice how warm it is. Don't think of rain as a trip ruiner but instead an asset to be enjoyed! 5. There are bugs but this isn't the Amazon. For such a tropical climate you will be surprised at how few bugs there are. The main things you will see are moths, fruit flies (due to fruit falling off of the trees) and mosquitoes. Bug repellent is provided but it never hurts to bring your own. They really don't get that bad but their presence increases after a hard rain and during the twilight hours. Luckily, the hanging bed has mosquito netting that drapes down to encompass it. 6. Noises. Living off-grid in the jungle also brings about its own set of noises. The water pump and solar inverter will make soft noises throughout the day as they are used. The falling fruit from the vivie trees can also be alarming if you don't know what it is, and at night you are going to be serenaded by the sweet chirping of coqui frogs. Rustling branches, grunts and squeals typically means that the cute family of wild pigs is nearby. They are harmless and will runoff as soon as they sense your presence. Quietly grab the binoculars and, if you are lucky, may catch a glimpse of them! All of these aspects are what makes this place so unique and, with the right mindset, only enhance your overall experience. Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The hanging bed, wrap-around porch, indoor-outdoor shower and closet are at your full disposal. I have recently installed a kitchenette that has a sink, cooler for storing food/drinks, and a coffee maker (also capable of heating up water). Any and all goodies stocked in the house are there for your enjoyment. Here is a more comprehensive list of amenities and features that will be available to you: •Indoor/Outdoor Shower •Toilet with Overlaid Sink •Organic Shampoo/Conditioner •Towels •Ample Parking •Tiki Torch ‘Flashlights’ •Hanging Bed •Table and Chairs for Lanai •Binoculars •Several Books •Outlets (3-prong and USB) •Kitchen Sink •Coffee Maker •Clean Linens •Gramophone Music Player for iPhones •Cooler for Food/Drink •Card Game Guest interaction can be tailored to your needs. My goal is to make sure your stay is unforgettable so you can always contact me via phone or email. Because I do not live on the island year round, a local neighbor can assist you if you have any problems that need tending to. Upon your arrival I can arrange to have someone greet you and show you the property or simply stow away the key for your convenience. The choice, of course, is yours. Even though I am not on site, I can always be reached. Feel free to call/text/email me at any time during your stay should the unlikely event that a problem arises. I will immediately contact the proper authority to have the problem remedied. The treehouse is located at the end of a neighborhood street making it very private. It is set about 50 yards off the street behind a windy, jungle path further adding to your privacy. There are only about five full time neighbors scattered throughout the neighborhood so don't expect to see a lot of people. The treehouse is about 20 miles from Hilo, 23 miles from Pahoa, 12 miles from Keaau and 8 miles from Volcano. Volcano is the closest place for laundry, good restaurants and groceries, though you will pay a little more for the groceries than in Hilo or Keaau. I recommend you stop on your way in from Hilo. When you book I will include a guidebook that has the locations, hours and prices of local restaurants and grocery stores. There is quick access to highway 11 and it is 10 miles from Volcanoes National Park. Numerous opportunities for sightseeing and adventures are within a 40 minute drive of this treehouse paradise and they will be included in my guest guidebook as well. This is the ultimate spot for couples seeking romantic seclusion in the middle of a tropical jungle or individuals who want to escape the world. Unless you feel like hitchhiking, you will definitely need a rental car to comfortably explore the surrounding areas and access the treehouse. While nothing is 'far' on the big island, everything is just a bit out of reach by foot... except of course for those lovely, yet dense, jungle strolls. • Excellent few days in the treehouse. Very convenient location to Volcano National Park. The treehouse is a once in a lifetime experience. Pulley system worked great to get luggage up and everything in the treehouse worked as described.

  • Such a special place! It is adorable and very clean. It's like being in another world. Kristie was great with the communication. Lovely!

  • Very well designed treehouse! I was so impressed! Every detail has been considered in this place. Arriving late was no problem, everything was fairly easy to figure out. The shower was a little tricky so best to watch the YouTube video and read the book. Also, didn't quite realize there was a way to pull the luggage up ... Very handy once I figured that out! Loved staying here, was amazing to wake up in the forest In such a thoughtfully designed place.

  • Amazing!! I don't think we can find words to describe it. It was such an amazing 'experience'. To start with, the idea of having a place in the middle of nature, peaceful, without any distractions is simply priceless. But then to top this, Kristie and her team have done an incredible job at making this a 5 start experience if not more. Every thing from the decoration, amenities to construction of this nature friendly tree house was very well though of. And their hospitality was a cherry on top. We chose this dream house for our first wedding anniversary vacation trip. And it was a treat indeed.

    Usman2015-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place was pretty much as described; pretty, offgrid, surrounded by nature. No issue at all with the posting descriptions and accuracy. However, a few things for consideration if you're planning a stay here; it's small and with electricity solar dependent, there is little to do at night if the electricity goes off. (Which happened all 4 nights we were there despite no real usage) No place to really sit except the bed. It's a great experience for a night but not as a base to explore the island. The sound of the highway was very noticeable which kinda defeated the purpose of being off grid. I'm kind of torn. It was as described which was great but not that practical. My advice would be to stay there for the fun and experience but stay somewhere more practical for your trip.

    Pamela2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • The property was exactly as described. Very clean and lots of information and good communication when arriving. The only thing I would warn people about is this is a bit more like glamping. The shower was amazing but the lights for us didn't work long and it got dark early given it was winter time. The air was VERY damp the first night making EVERYTHING VERY damp. It was not comfortable due to the dampness the first night. The second day was drier and the bed was much more comfy but towels and such do not dry out. If this will bother you do not stay here despite the cuteness of the treehouse.

    Sarah2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • I have no words for how perfect this treehouse is. It's even better than the pictures suggest. It was the highlight of our trip and I wish we could've spent more time here. Every detail did not go unnoticed. From the gramophone to play our music to the swing downstairs to the couples question cards, everything was impeccable. This is perfect for couples who want to get away. Don't plan any activities for the first day you're here. Once you get there, you won't want to leave. We bought dinner and breakfast and ate it right on the porch. For folks staying here, I'd recommend an SUV to get in if it's raining. We had tiny car and were nervous about some of the big and deep puddles, but it turned out ok.

Volvería a ir!

*This cabin was featured in the New York Times in January, 2017. * A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement.
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our other two cabins nearby ("Homestead Camp Cabin in Joshua Tree" and "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin") *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a fire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request. Please note that we have a TW0-NIGHT MINIMUM stay, and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. This requirement allows us to keep our rates low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to protecting the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values.
  • We had a really amazing time staying in Joshua Tree at Stephanie and Jay's place. Everything was as described. It is very much off the beaten path which made for amazing star gazing. Jay was very nice. We didn't meet Stephanie. Everything was smooth, except for the roads leading to the cabin ;) Seriously though, our Nissan Versa rental car barely made it up the washboard, sandy pathway ("road"). All is good though. Just take it slow and you'll get there. Plan an extra 20 min or so once you exit off the main 29 Palms highway. It truly was a great experience. Thanks guys! :)

  • There are plenty of well-deserved positive reviews for Stephanie & Jay and their Homesteader cabin already, so rather than just repeat the same praise, I would like use my review comment to say that we very much admire the couple for leaving LA, developing something unique, special and worthwhile, and sharing it with the world! Way to go, you two. We certainly appreciated it and found it inspiring in a way that will surely last for some time. Kindest regards! P.s. - we loved how quite and still it was out there!

  • This was one the best weeks we have spent anywhere. We loved the Cabin, The Desert and it's inhabitants and we were made to feel most welcome not just by Jay and Steph who are delightful hosts who will now remain as friends but by all the local people of Joshua Tree that we met during our visit. We cannot recommend the Homesteader Cabin highly enough for anyone wanting a truly relaxing break away from a humdrum existence and the pressures of daily living. • Our stay at the Homesteader Cabin was every bit as relaxing, peaceful and fabulous as we thought it would be. It was a truly unique experience for me and my partner and a very memorable way to spend my 30th birthday. The outdoor shower was a nice way to start the day and star gazing the perfect way to end it. The cabin is the perfect location from which to explore Joshua Tree National Park and we also took a short one hour drive to Palm Springs. A stay in one of Stephanie and Jay's cabins is highly recommended. Good luck with all of your future projects :) Catherine & Adam

  • I haven't language to describe the grace and spiritual center of Jay's and Stephanie's Soul Retreat in Joshua Tree. In a perfectly appointed one-room space, Jay and Stephanie have with careful but not precious precision have hand-crafted the Perfect Place on Earth. Every possible amenity and necessity has been anticipated, without a single excess: just the right number of pots, towels and pillows live happily with indulgent perfections: an abundance of magazines, a coffee grinder, a fast wi-fi, a hammock, excellent cell service, and an exquisitely designed separate facility for showering and toileting. Jay met us at their home upon our arrival, not the least bit put out by our unanticipated tardiness. He kindly answered every question with patient sincerity, weathering my slavish St. Bernardish foamings. He had connected us to a beautiful Desert Spirit, Angela, whose fresh juices were delivered within an hour of our arrival. She walked in "our home" and we wanted to scoop her up and keep her with us, she so fully emanated the peace of the Almighty Desert. I cannot give out any more stars. I am apoplectic with gratitude that Jay and Stephanie welcomed us home to their safe, electric, cozy, exhilarating piece of the World. One can become most fully realized and most fully rested, both, here.

    Stephanie 2015-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Jay and Stepanie in their amazing house. It's not hard to get to if you follow their directions, and you will be rewarded with absolute peace and a beautiful landscape. The desert is surprisingly full of life. We have rarely felt more relaxed.

    Gareth2011-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't ask for a more perfect place to stay in Joshua Tree! Jay and Stephanie were thoughtful and accommodating hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed every step of the way. This will undoubtedly be our go-to spot for future Joshua Tree sojourns.

    Jackie2012-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Steph & Jay were fantastic hosts! The little green gem was perfectly described & super comfortable! I wish we had stayed longer! Thanks Steph & Jay!

The Love Villas are literally a 5 minute walk to a fabulous surf beach, plus a plethora of warungs, restaurants, beach bars and nightclubs, simply an amazing location! We love the fact that we are in a local compound gang (laneway), so there are always ceremonies at any given time; for that reason we also respect our neighbours and their children by driving motorbikes slowly in the gang, and keeping noise at night to a minimum (please be quiet from 10pm until 8am)
  • The Love Villas are in a great location for a family - very close to Double six beach and restaurants - but as you are down a laneway the Villa is very quiet. The laneway is around 200 meters long, but is very well lit and it is nice to see some real local houses - the daily hellos are very welcoming as you walk back! The three bedroom villa was great for our family - it never felt cramped. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Had a very comfortable stay at Love villa 4, with the feeling of staying at a friends home. The location is great, a short walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants, but tucked away in a quiet Laneway. Robyn and Richard have supplied all the comforts you will need including drinking water, and insect repellent (both important for your stay). Manager, Erni, is extremely helpful. Be prepared for the sound of scurrying on the roof at night (nothing gets in though). Would stay again.

An ancient trullo surrounded by panoramic contryside , away from the noise. Just relax, time taken lying on the hammock or a dip in our cristalline sea and in the evening a great apulian dinner in nearby villages. simple and authentic things
Trullo aromativc green is a 300 year old building, with the traditional "trullo" cones of this region of Puglia. Trullo is situated on the west facing slope of a delightfully quiet valley with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and ideal place for relaxing and is beautiful to explore on foot or by bicycle. The property has been designed to be beautiful, comfortable and environmentally friendly. Solar power is used for hot water and and waste water is re-used (please use the organic bodycare and cleaning products provided). In cooler months, heating and the woodburning stove will keep you warm. The trullo's traditional thick walls and high ceilings keep it cool in summer. And through the marvels of technology, a wifi connection is now available in this idyllic rural setting. The surrounding grounds are maintained organically. Set in four acres, Trullo aromatic green provides the space and tranquillity for real relaxation. Amongst the 110 olive trees are many almonds, walnuts, fig, cherries, apple, pear and mulberry trees, providing a garden banquet that guests can feast on. Produce from the land, including olive oil, is provided for your enjoyment at the property, and available to take home. At the front of the house is a large dining table under a shady gazebo. Nearby there is a barbecue . A large terrace is available to enjoy the landscape from a new perspective. Comfortably furnished, it's the perfect place for sundowners or digestifs. There is also an ancient aia where you just relax on a hammock. The kitchen inside is equipped to the standard that you would expect from this impressive property. I expect that you will dine outside most of the time, but if the weather turns, or you fancy a change, the intimate dining room will delight you. The living room provides ample space for everyone to relax. Enjoy the sound system - Bose iPod docking station and CD player - or watch a film on the Tv. A wood burning stove will warm the spirits in the cooler months. The bedrooms: there are one double bedroom and one can be configured as double or twins. They all have their own shower room and bathroom. Two miles away, in a small town called Casalini you can find everything you might need (delicatessen, supermarket, wine cellar, bar, newsagent, butcher, post office) Puglia and Trullo aromatic green will delight you throughout the year. Each season brings its own climate, festivals and produce. In April the days are warm, but Puglia is still quiet. So you would have a great time to explore the surrounding towns, markets and scenery. There are many festival processions over Easter. On May soft fruits such as cherries, mulberries and fiorone (early figs) are in abundance, markets are full of spring vegetables and the fields are full of wild flowers. This is a fantastic season. On June enjoy the countryside and the beaches before the crowds arrive. Days are pleasantly warm, and the nights clear. On July the real start of summer. Enjoy a day on the beach l, followed by a summer festa or concert. Famous classical concerts in nearby Martina Franca run from mid July to mid August. Finally on August explore the beaches and get plenty of rest during the day to ensure you are full of energy for the many festivals that take place throughout the region during summer. On September as the blazing heat of high summer subsides, enjoy pleasant days and some spill-over festivals such as the Jazz festival in Lecce, or buskers in Martina Franca. Places to Go Puglia offers a wealth of diversions; two coast lines, a vast number of hill towns each with their own characteristics, and always beautiful, rugged scenery with knarled olive trees, spring flowers, red soil and acres of vineyards. There will be plenty of information available to you on arrival (or booking, if you prefer) including recommendations and directions for your days out. Local Hill Towns Ceglie Messapica is just 10 kilometres from trulo aromatic green i, and provides all the amenties that you may need, including an attractive old town for your evening promenade. It is famed for its restaurants, including "Ricci's" - which has the accolade of being Antonio Carluccio's favourite restaurant in Southern Italy. Ostuni, just 07 km from Trullo aromatic greeni, is a fantastic hill town, with the centro storico revealing great bars and restaurants. The town has many facilities, and the market on Saturday morning provides everything you can imagine. Cisternino, just 6 kilometres, has its own character and charm, many free summer concerts and great restaurants. Alberobello is a must for anyone interested in the region's trulli buildings. It is a small town, consisting almost entirely of trulli. Although crowded with tourists in summer, it is worth a visit... and we can recommend some great local restaurants to complete your day. Martina Franca is the smartest town in the area. The Sunday evening passeggiata is a display to behold! The old town centre is a typical example of baroque art, with its white lanes, elegant mansions and stately churches and commune buildings.Beaches On this peninsula, you are never too far from the sea. The Adriatic sea is just 10 minutes from Trullo aromatic greeni, with family beaches and all facilities you need - including seafood and gelato! On the opposite coast, the Ionian, you will find stretches of open beach. Both coastlines offer large beaches and quiet coves, with beautiful clear blue water. Further south the shore becomes more rugged and dramatic. As well as a huge number of towns and beaches to visit, many other activities are available in the area Golf, Horse riding, Scuba diving and snorkeling, Kite-surfing, Cookery courses, pasta making, gourmet tours, Yoga (nearby classes or private lessons at Trullo aromatic green), Massage. We will, of course, be more than happy to help you plan and to make you reservations. Please note, some weeks we hold yoga holidays and gourmet tours for individuals or groups. For special occasions a local chef can come and cook for you. Nights There are many bars, restaurants and clubs to be discovered locally. Puglia is famous for its food, and there are many places to enjoy fabulous cuisine at excellent prices. In the summer there are many bars and clubs set up on the ne Nearby beaches, as well as a multitude of festas and concerts (many free) to make the most of the warm evenings.

  • Isa was a wonderful host, and the trullo was beautiful. Photos don't do it justice. We can't wait to come back to the region.

    Angela2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures of the trullo are great, and they were the reason that we chose to stay here. However, they can't actually capture the wonderful essence of the place. You pull up to a modern automatic gate, when it opens you see tons of olive trees, beautiful flowers, and the most amazingly restored trullo. Everything about the place is perfection. From the remarkable host, Isa, who helped us with everything. She is clearly such a kind-hearted person, and I wish that we had more time to get to know her. To the inside of the house where everything was so fabulously designed, the perfect mixture of old and new. To the amazing grounds, where when we got hungry we would go outside and pick the most delicious cherries. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and plan on it. In fact, if it was for sale I would have wanted to buy it- furniture and all. One thing to know, you must rent a car. It is too far from Ostuni, but not having a car in this area would be a shame- there is too much to see!

    Allison2013-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such an unforgettable place, trully arranged with taste and soooo peacefull. Isa, thank you again for openning this amazing place for us and also for your very kind attentions from the beds made on arrival to the food offered - very convenient to start with! :) Hope to come back soon!! • Great host, great place, great stay! We wanted to be in the nature and not too far from the beaches - we got exactly what we wanted. Cisternino is our favorite village - a great place to have breakfast and visit before it is too hot..

  • There are not enough words to convey how wonderful this trulli is and very true to pictures. We just came back from our trip in July. It was very dry there but the fig trees, apricot and plum trees were still producing which was such a nice treat. Isa truly is the hostess with the mostest!!!!! We arrived late due to plane issues and had problems finding the trulli. She came out to search for us and met us with a smile on her face leading us to the trulli. Upon arrival, we found treats in the frig and a bottle of wine. Such a peaceful place. We also found it convenient to all the areas we wanted to visit. I hope someday to return. Everything about the trulli is very special and first class.

  • We spent one week in this beautiful Trulli, surrounded by a wild and dreamy garden. There's a lot of trips you can do to the surrounding beaches, or you just stay at home and enjoy the stunning landscape. Isa is a great host! She will spare no effort to help you with tips and the fruit and vegetables she offered us were delicious!

  • This is probably the most unique place I have ever stayed at. I loved it! Alexis and Lotte are the perfect hosts, and the location is perfect for your visit to the Loire Valley.

    Jean2016-05-31T00:00:00Z

    Nicolas2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Lotte & Alexis' charming place. They both made us feel very much at ease and gave us great tips on local restaurants and activities. Breakfast was delicious. The bedroom was just as in the pictures. We would love to return. Thanks guys

  • The cave/apartment was a great base to explore the Chateaus and region around Amboise. Very quiet, cool on the hottest of days, well equipped and decorated. Alexis and Lotte were great hosts and were always very responsive. Definitely recommend their apartment to others!

    Thomas2016-08-27T00:00:00Z

    Sandrine2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis and Lotte were absolutely warm and wonderful hosts. They provided us with great tips about awesome places to visit in the region and were great company. The cave was immaculate and well furnished with great pieces that not only complimented the design of the space (great job Lotte!!) but was also functional and ensured that we were comfortable! We are definitely going to miss this place and the delicious breakfasts every morning! Thank you!

Hector Cave House, carved into the unique caldera cliff for more than 250 years, was originally used as a wine cellar. Then it became a family owned complex of three different properties that opened its doors to share its unique character to travelers from around the world. The three different properties are: The Hector Cave House The Hector Luxury Cave The Hector Caldera Nest
The Hector Cave House, carved into the unique caldera cliff for more than 250 years, was originally used as a wine cellar (“the canava”). The traditional “canava” became a family owned summer house, which then opened its doors to share its unique character to travelers from around the world. Indoor: Hector Cave house (60 square meters) can host 2-5 people, ideal for one couple or a company of 2-5 friends. The house includes one bedroom, two bathrooms and a living room area. The bedroom has one built-in King size bed LOCATED ON THE LOFT and one single sofa bed 200 cm x 80 cm. In the living room area there are two built in single sofa beds. The kitchen is equipped with all the facilities for self-catering holidays, including microwave, refrigerator, electric hot plates, toaster, electric kettle and an espresso machine. Outdoor: The private veranda offers a private space for relaxing, dinning, or even sunbathing, having as a background the most breathtaking views of Santorini: the Volcano, the caldera cliff and Thirassia Island. Outdoor NON heated plunge pool for two is also available from APRIL 1-NOVEMBER 1
Hector Cave house is situated in a very convenient location, right on the main path of Oia traditional settlement. Within walking distance, visitors can reach all the highlights of Oia and wonder around picturesque shops, cozy restaurants and romantic caldera-view cafes. Also, the complex lies a few steps from the old castle and the best viewing spot for the famous Oia sunset. Although close to local activity, the Hector Cave House provides peacefulness and privacy.
  • We had the most amazing stay at the Cave House. It is truly wonderful! The location is absolutely perfect to enjoy your time in Oia. It is centrally located and close to everything you could need, but as soon as you enter the gate and climb the steps, you have complete privacy and quiet. The house itself is beautiful and unique, with high ceilings and plenty of space. It is well stocked with everything you might need to be comfortable, and it is very clean and well-maintained. The two private terraces are ideal for enjoying the sunshine or watching the sunset and the views are amazing. Giannis is an outstanding host, and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He was very attentive and helpful with everything from recommending restaurants and activities to arranging rides to and from the airport for us. If there is anything you need, just ask and Giannis will be able to help you! My family and I had an amazing time in Oia and loved staying in the Cave House. I highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Santorini. You will love it! My only problem is that we couldn't stay longer!

    Scott and Stephanie2014-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing!! I was traveling with 2 friends around some of the Greek Islands and Hector Cave House won the 5* prize :) We didn't have the opportunity of meeting Giannis, but we were nicely received at 2am (boats delayed!!!!) by someone in charge of the house and Giannis even welcomed us by phone. Giannis also arrange a taxi for us, from the port to Oia. The Cave House was extremely clean, with coffee and bottled water available. The AC was perfect, the location is perfect, a few steps from the most wanted spots to watch the sunset :) and the view from the terrace, breathless.... :) Missing it already, Joana

    Joana2014-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Ioannis cave house in Santorini. Firstly the place was fantastic a very unique experience in what we believe as the most beautiful area of Santorini. You are walking distance to everything in Oia and location is about 20 metres from the most beautiful sunset. A tip it gets very busy we walked down the stairs and found we were able to escape the crowds and still have a beautiful view. The cave house was spacious clean and tidy and the renovations that have taken place were spot on. Ioannis as a host was great we had his friend meet us and take us to the cave house and show us around. Ioannis was kind enough to give us a phone call as soon as we got in to greet us and tell us anything we needed he was always available when ever you need and a fantastic host. Highly recommend Ioannis cave house for a truly unique experience with a beautiful view and the best area to stay in and of course a fantastic host we will be back.

    Kelly2013-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's great to have a host like Giannis. At our arrival past midnight, he ensured someone picked us up at the airport and he talked to us when we arrived at this place. He wanted to make sure our stay would be a great experience. The place is very wonderful and we stayed for 4 nights. It has a great view of Aegean sea and Santorini islands. The house was as expected and the family loved it.

    Ed2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We staid 5 days at Giannis’ and it was simply the best Airbnb experience we ever had. The apartment is just wonderful, the view is breath taking but in addition to that, it is Giannis and his team responsiveness to any questions / requests we had (they took care for us of booking transportation, wine tour...). They are extremely friendly and professional. I can only recommend them.

    Franck2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is tidy and has a beautiful sight on the caldera. Then, the host is always available for any information you may need. I strongly suggest to stay there to visit Santorini.

    Salvatore2012-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Hector Cave House is an amazing place to stay if you find yourself in Santorini! It has incredible views from both patio areas and is very cozy inside. Giannis is a great host. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet him but he arranged for a transfer to get us to the house from the ferry port. Someone was there waiting for us to help with luggage and explain details of the house and we did get a welcome call from Giannis as soon as we arrived. He also arranged for a second transfer the day we left as we had a very early flight to catch. All photos are accurate but even photos cannot put into the words the beauty of the view. I highly suggest a stay at Hector Cave House. I'm already having withdrawals.

    Lauren2014-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Hector Cave House was incredible. Although we were impressed by the pictures and the commentaries of the previous guests, the place was beyond our expectations. The cave house is in a great location, about 30 meters from the most popular view of the Santorini's famous sunset. The house itself has a spectacular view of the Caldera, like a picture. We spend woderful time at the terrace looking at this view. Inside the house there was everything we needed. The house was tastefully arranged. After the repairs, there is now a comfortable double bed and a nice toilet. We enjoyed the small details that made our stay more cosy, like a lot of candles or the discs with music selected by Ioannis. We felt in good hands from the moment we arrived to Oia and met Natasha waiting for us. She brought us to the house and immediately Iannis called to explain everything and help us accommodate. He was accessible when we needed help. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope we can come again.

Be surrounded by nature and yet have all the comforts of home. Be our guest in this cozy log cabin surrounded by tall pines and mountains, and yet still a short drive to Lake Tahoe and the casinos.
Cozy cabin nestled in South Lake Tahoe perfect for the relaxing or adventure filled getaway. This rustic charmer has evolved over the last 10 years to bring you and your family a warm and comfortable stay. At 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the Lake Tahoe Chalet is perfect for families of up to 8 people. We do consider the family dog on a case-by-case basis, please ask, and the backyard is fully fenced.
The Lake Tahoe Chalet is about six miles from Stateline and the Lake, or a short 10 minute drive. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with no one across the street, with views of mountains and tall trees. There's a large meadow and the Truckee River just a short walk away. The cabin is located in a quiet family neighborhood so PLEASE respect our neighbors' peace and quiet and keep the noise down after 10PM. Also, no parties or groups exceeding 8 are allowed and may even result in immediate eviction and/or loss of deposit.

    Ivan2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Directions to the house were accurate and access to the house easy with the combination lock. The house is located in a residential neighborhood but has many beautiful pine trees and country feel to the area. It is very nicely decorated with lots of woodsy touches which add to the cabin atmosphere. Beds and couch were comfortable, plenty of towels, china, utensils, etc. Did not use washer or dryer. BBQ worked well. As did WiFi. Location is a about 15 minutes to Stateline.

    Sharon2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Ryan&Darnie's chalet! It's quite, clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend it for families and groups.

    Xu2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Lake Tahoe Chalet was perfect for us, two older active ladies looking to get away for a few days, staying in a safe location convenient to the Lake, hiking, birding, exploring the area, searching for Fall colors (Hope Valley nearby.) The home is very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen; we loved having 2 full bathrooms; beds were comfortable; nothing that we couldn't figure out or needed that wasn't supplied. We would happily stay here again.

    Carolyn2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos!!!

    Jodi2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Chalet. We were six friends staying for two winter nights, and we didn't feel crowded at all. The central heater works well for heating the house and drying wet socks, and additional space-heaters in the bedrooms kept us at perfect temperatures. The full kitchen allowed us to cook several meals together, and the location is great for long walks, snow-covered adventures, or driving to our Tahoe destinations. It's a beautiful, bright home, with every detail of the decor thought through. We didn't want to leave!

    Odalis2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin nestled in a quiet residential area of South Lake Tahoe. 3 br with one of the rooms having 2 double decker twin beds. So really enough room for everyone without getting in each other’s faces. Cabin in the forest feel with the luxuries of a stylishly renovated home. Hop, skip, and cartwheel away from heavenly lodges. I will definitely book again if we are going to be vacationing in the area.

    Miwako2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Home is cozy, photos really make the home appear bigger. Living room and dinning table are a little crowded. Home needed some spring cleaning and TLC.

A sturdy cabin with lots of natural light, right in a flowerful garden. It will feel like living outdoors, while inside the cabin there is a lingering aroma of larix wood and crackling of the woodstove.
This charming garden room has a 180 degrees garden view, with large windows in the front and in the roof. (Full length curtains for the windows allow for privacy.) In the cabin you will find a comfortable bed with good mattress - size 165cm by 205cm and plushy pillows. A comfortable desk and chair, free WiFi – to read or even finish some work. Water cooker and drinking water available. Besides being well-suited for the summer, it is also very cozy for the autumn and winter because of the romantic woodstove. The bathroom and toilet are just a few steps away in the main house. Inside the cabin itself is a faucet for water and thanks to good suggestions from guests there is now a chemical toilet for a pee in the night. We don't offer breakfast or cooking facilities, but her you get quietness and romance :) A small stream meanders past the front of the cabin. In the evening the garden is nicely lighted and makes for a beautiful sight and there are multiple sitting areas in the garden. And chickens to enjoy :) - no roosters! The cabin is about 8mts behind our house. Welcome!
The location is in the largest natural area of the Netherlands. The area is great for both walking and bicycling (if you did not bring your own, we have two you can borrow). Many short and long walking and biking routes through heathlands, woods and meadows start within a kilometer from the house. Also within walking distance (800 meter) are the town centre (with shops and several decent restaurants) and swimming pool. Lakes (including beaches) are 5 kilometers away.
  • Bea and Frans are a happily married couple and I hope that my husband and I will grow to be like them as well.. they were great and the fruit cups they prepared for us on our last day there was great... really loved your place..

  • My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first guests of Bea and Frans, and they were great! The garden house is super cozy and perfect in warm or cold weather. As they say in the profile, the toilet and shower are inside but this isn't an inconvenience at all as you're so close. The garden house is made entirely of wood so it smells great!! And the surrounding garden is beautiful. Long story short, we had a fantastic time! The area is beautiful with so much to do. The house itself was great, and Bea and Frans were wonderful hosts- very helpful, informative, and great to just chat with :) I highly suggest staying here!

  • This has been the best experience I've had so far since I've discovered Airbnb. Bea and Frans are amazing hosts and the gardenroom was exactly as described. We had no problem whatsoever and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet with a romantice fireplace. Oh, the fireplace.... I shall miss it so!

  • We had a wonderful time in this private Riad house. The atmosphere, decor and furnishings gave an authentic traditional feel but almost everything provided was good quality and well maintained. The kitchen is large and well-equipped; more than enough crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. is provided. We loved the rooftop terrace which is spacious yet secluded, with shade and loads of day-beds to relax and lounge around. We ate a simple lunch up there on several days. The main Suite bedroom is (we get the impression) exceptionally large for a Riad house of this type. One comment. We found the bed to be much too firm for our liking, but we solved this by using the 'toppers' from the downstairs sofas as extra padding and then all was OK. We felt quite safe in the streets and alleys around the Riad. Compared to some parts of Marrakesh there is little pressure to buy or unwanted hassle on the street. However, if you walk east, beyond Rue Mouassine and into the Souks, prepare to be pestered by vendors and impromptu offers from men who offer to be your 'Guide'. By contrast, walking west past the Palais dar el Bacha into Rue de Bab Doukkala ( called Route Sidi Abdelaziz on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps and not to be confused with Rue Sid Abd El Aziz ! ) you'll find a huge array of small stalls and shops and traders where you will feel comfortable amongst local people going about their business. You can buy meat, fish, fruit vegetables, household goods, chickens, spices and almost anything you could ever need! We found it fascinating. Sabah the housekeeper was delightful. She met us as arranged and welcomed us to the house. Then she came every morning (except one, as expected) and busied herself conscientiously with preparing food, clearing, cleaning and tidying. If, like us, you are unused to having staff around during the day you may find it takes a little getting used to but this is no criticism at all of Sabah. She was warm, discreet and flexible. Something else we struggled to get used to, and this is no criticism of this house as it would apply equally throughout the city: expect to hear the amplified Call to Prayer from several nearby mosques starting as early as 4:30 am. All communication with Françoise was prompt, efficient, helpful and accurate. She will also give you recommendations of places to eat locally and other helpful advice. The transport she arranged to collect us at the airport and for a day trip we took into the Atlas Mountains was all excellent. In summary: highly recommended (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • My girlfriend and I spent a little over a week at Francoise's Riad in Marrakech and had an amazing time. It's perfectly situated in a quiet area of the Medina about 10 mins walk for Jemaa el-Fnaa (the main square). The Riad is lovely and was a perfect place to relax after our excursions, with a pool and roof deck to laze in the sun. Francoise, who was based in Paris called us to make sure everything was ok. I also want to send a huge shout out to Saba, the Riad's house keeper, and her son Ahmed, who looked after us during our stay. Saba made us breakfast every day and cooked us a meal one night. Ahmed, her son, is the perfect gent, speaks excellent English, and was a big help in navigating the area. Lovely people, I've never been made to feel so welcome. Lastly Fayssal who runs an excursion company did our airport runs and on very short notice took us to the coastal town of Essaouria. Great guy highly recommend using him for trips etc. All in all it was perfect can't recommend this place more.

  • What a wonderful place to stay we couldn't have asked for somewhere more relaxing, comfortable and spacious. Also the level of interior details were a nice finish. We most of all loved the outdoor terrace which was great to soak up the sun in that time of year and just sit, read a book and unwind in that very quiet neighbourhood. The Riad was in a perfect location close to everything we needed: restaurants, markets, the main square. Our housekeeper Sabah was very welcoming and helpful and every morning we were surprised with another traditional breakfast and delicious mint tea. Also the transfer with Fayssal was very smooth and easy. We would highly recommend the Dar Ahwach Riad of Francoise and look forward to our next stay.

This bamboo cottage is a secluded eco retreat down a quiet foot path nestled in the rice fields and only a five minute walk to central Ubud. Open air basket weave bedroom with mini loft, modern elegant bathroom and outdoor living area make this a truly unique Bali experience.
This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get. Our main lodge is down a private foot path only accessible to cottage guests. if you choose to join us for dinner, a swim or for socializing with other guests you are welcome to enjoy this common space with a saltwater pool and a swing. :)
This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops, but it feels lost in time and like a total retreat. In the day you will only meet rice farmers and local women blessing the rice. At night you will only see fireflies and hear the rushing river, crickets and the distant sounds of the temple. An evening massage is a great way to end the day at sunset on the terrace. We have an in house masseuse who is available by appointment.

  • What an incredible, unique and beautiful place! Ricefields, ducks and fireflies, what more can you want? The host arranged for scooters, which is great for getting around Ubud. I highly recommend this to those who want a truly peaceful and unique experience.

  • OH My God! I feel so lucky that my gf and i managed to squeeze 1 day out of the tight booking schedule of Bamboo Eco Cottage and able to fit in my 4D3N stay at Ubud!!! This was really a one of a kind experience and I must say, we both loved it to bits and pieces!!!!!! the weather was so great and we could just enjoy the sun during the day on the patio where i just laid down for sunbathing and listening to the water running down the drains, crickets/toads/ducks/birds making noises, watching farmers working /locals carrying big things on their heads walking on the farmlands and simply enjoying being back to the nature! everything was as described/shown in photos here or even BETTER! The ambiance and experiences are not describable by words. Taking shower in the roofless shower area under the stars in the dark and early in the morning in broad daylight are both AWESOME! we felt we were embraced by our mother nature and never felt so relaxed without any music/tv or those kinds. we were a little worried abt the no-door, no-lock and no safe at the cottage but we were rest assured by wayan abt the surroundings and we didn't experience anything unpleasant at all during our stay! even though they have no door, there were curtains around and a mosquito/bed net. we were also provided with a torch for walking back to the cottage at night from the road where our driver dropped us off. it took abt 5-10 mins to walk out but we weren't worried, except when there was a dog barking and following us up to a fork of the path at night when heading back to cottage. wayan was an incredible host, very friendly and attentive which made us felt at home! breakfast was served on the patio with nice balinese coffee which came with a plunge! we wish we could have stayed longer and would love to come back!!! thanks for making our stay at ubud so memorable and it's defo one of the most extraordinary places we have stayed in!

  • The hut was an amazing experience, really made you appreciate your surroundings more. Never stayed in accommodations like this before and I would do it again if I got the chance. Very accommodating and pleasnt staff. Great breakfast every morning and provided us with anything we needed. It's very easy to reach the owner by cell since they provide you with a phone and they also can plan many tours and rentals for you. Great trip and hope others can experience this just as much. Just be careful for the huge spiders, they liked to go into our bags so keep your bags closed at all times. Also, there was never a worry about Saftey of the items we kept in the hut.

  • this was a very special place. What a great place to land in Bali.

    Taryn2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • The bamboo cottage was heavenly - stunningly beautiful and a wonderful antidote to the noise and crowds of Ubud centre. Our hosts were delightful and made us feel very welcome. They made us delicious breakfast and were very helpful in getting us an extra mattress. I would highly recommend this place. My only reservation is that there is a very steep fall on one side of the path and I wouldn't recommend it for small children.

    Camilla2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Really a unique place to stay in Ubud! We stayed for two nights in Bamboo eco cottage. Everything was well prepared at our arrival. Despite the remoteness of the cottage, located directly in a rice field with actually no neighbours, we felt safe at any time, also when we came back from town which is by the way a 15-minute-walk away. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicous and prepared with care. I would definitely recommand this place.

  • The house itself was amazing and in a fantastic location to spend my birthday! Gunnar was more than helpful on such short notice! Would stay again and highly recommend the place to explore Akureyri and the surrounding area.

  • We had the most amazing stay. The house is as pictured, just beautiful, and the views are simply stunning. Don't forget your binoculars! The house offers loads of space, is very modern and stylish, and has beatiful spots to relax like the terrace and hot tub. We could hardly bring ourselves to leave the house. However, it's the perfect starting point for exploring North Iceland and all the fantastic sceneries it has to offer. And Akureyri is ideal for whale watching, we saw several humpbacks in the fjord. Unfortunately, we didn't meet Gunnar in person, but he was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Thanks for letting us stay in this amazing house! We hope to be back soon.

    Sandra2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The host made us feel welcome in every way. This place was exactly what we were hoping for and more. The neighborhood was very clean, safe and beautiful. Views from the hot tub and house were extraordinary.

  • The location of this house is incredible. We loved the views and we had a great night watching the northern lights from the deck. It is a short drive to great food and the city which was nice. We had a bit of a hard time finding the house, but the host was so nice and very prompt with helping us.

    Christa2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Gunnar's house is fantastic.. freshwater hot tub and magnificent views! Communication with Gunnar was easy and responsive.

    Aoife2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was modern and had a stunning view. We could have enjoyed the apartment more if there wasn't an issue with the drainage system within the apartment which caused quite a bit of distress to the tenants. Having said that, Gunnar's response was always prompt we just felt that the whole saga could have been handled better by the host.

    Julie2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the house and the house itself was absolutely stunning. unbroken view of Akureyri across the water, freshwater hot tub (which we saw the northern lights from!!), and absolute privacy yet a short drive to the city. Gunnar was a great host - i had some questions trying to get the hot tub hot (someone had previously set it too cold), and he called the house and gave great help to getting it back hot. and the beds were very nice, super soft foam pads and high quality!

This spacious, unparalleled cave house, hanging on the cliffs of the caldera in the center of Oia, is part of a traditional complex of cave houses, owned & renovated by a family of architects.
Crowning a unique complex of cave houses which used to serve as the old bakery of the settlement, and just a moment from the main pedestrian street of Oia, lays the remarkable cave house of sculptural aesthetics. Originally renovated for personal use by local craftsmen, the house perfectly combines traditional style with comfort. The plasticity of its forms, the use of local techniques, the built in beds and the selection of antique furniture together with the modern amenities, strike the right balance between sophistication and coziness. The cave house has two private bedrooms one of which was actually the old cistern, now transformed into a cocoon, cave room. This couples' nest, is five organic-formed steps sideways and below the main level of the house, with an emperor size (200 x 200 cm) built in bed and vintage wooden furniture. The original path that was naturally created by the cliff structure, connecting the two caves which form this house, leads to the master bedroom, on the other side of the house, maintaining the original architectural plan. With a private entrance, two windows and a door that separates it from the rest of the house, this bright and spacious bed room comfortably fits an oak queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), a large desk with a chair, an antique bookcase and a handcrafted mirror. Both bedrooms are equipped with high quality latex mattresses. In the commodious, off-white living room, a warm and relaxing corner has been created by the two large built in sofa beds (easily accommodating two for sleep) and the square beech wood coffee table. On the side, a solid, oak wood dining table is surrounded be a wooden and a built in bench, comfortably sitting a company of six for a luscious meal, right next to the fully equipped kitchen. There, an oven, ceramic hot plates, refrigerator, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and cutlery ensure your stay will be as convenient as possible. The bathroom, deeply curved in the cave, with off white local stucco technique and marble from Crete, has a handcrafted marble wash basin and rain shower. Outdoors, the private terraces expand on different levels literally on the rim of the caldera, creating unique angles and comfortable sitting spaces. You have travelled miles in order to come here; this is the time that you can finally dip in the white washed, semi cave whirlpool. Grasp the serenity and beauty of the sensational, unobstructed view of the volcano. The caldera, the sea and the sky which will undoubtedly leave you breathless. Enjoy!
Oia is the most picturesque coastal town on the northwestern tip of Santorini. The town has whitewashed houses carved into the rugged clifftops, and overlooks a vast caldera filled with water.
  • I have stayed at many such apartments in Italy, Spain and Greece and I can only say that this was by far the most charming place I have ever stayed at (and likely to ever find). The location is great (right next to the Skala and Skiza restaurants in Ouia, 2 minutes from the church near the tourist office), the view is spectacular and the furnishings impeccable. We had a terrific time in Santorini and a lot of it was because of this villa we stayed in. The prime sunset viewing spot is 5-7 minutes away by foot. In the evening, you can sit in your own private balcony and watch the cruise ships sail by. John and Laskarina helped us with booking travel from the airport.

  • Our family of 5 just spent 4 incredible nights in Laskarinas cave house. The house was even better than we had imagined and the view into the caldera defies description. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the silliness watching the colours change through the day. Laskarina was lovely and helpful and it was so nice to meet her.

  • Stop looking and book this place! Gorgeous cave house with amazing outside area, and the view is beyond words. We can not speak highly enough of Laskarina and her husband, right from the very first email they were fantastic. Great restaurant recommendations, organised our car hire, nothing was too much for them and they even shared some fresh eggs with us for our daughter. We travelled with our 8 nth old and the house was perfect for the 3 of us. When can we go back??????

    Lizzie2013-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location and the host were absolutely perfect! I cannot say enough good things about our time in Santorini and the "cave house". Beautiful is an understatement, we did not want to leave. Thank you for the best vacation location!
