Newly restored with re-claimed cedar logs. Fabulous deck, gourmet kitchen, stone fireplace, beautifully furnished, sparkling clean. Smart TV, high speed internet. Four Seasons of Beauty. Family friendly, Romantic getaway. (If you'd like to party with loud music, alcohol & extra friends, please look in another zip code. Palomar Mountain is a small, very peaceful, quiet community and we are respectful of neighbors who were here long before vacation rentals. Thank you for your understanding.)
Charming, cozy, comfortable and very clean. The perfect definition of "Cabin". Best for a family of four with a queen in the bedroom and twin beds on the floor of the loft. Children love the loft but an adult can not stand up. Please note we have lots of stairs and only one bathroom on the living and kitchen level. Night lights on the stairs for nighttime visits. Many wonderful Five Star, reviews waiting for you. Cabin Fever is so close to all that San Diego or Orange County have to offer but so far from the stress of the cities! We also have had many guests from around the world! China, Ireland, New Zealand - those folks have been back twice! Many repeats including our first guest now booked for the 10th time! Come on up and enjoy Cabin Fever, you'll love it here. That's a promise!
Palomar Mountain is a lifestyle. I often think our time on Palomar as something that folks experienced about 100 years ago. Friendly neighbors, the scent of a wood burning fireplace in the winter, dinner on the stove, enjoying a potluck and game night with family and friends, hiking in the forest, gazing at the amazing stars in our clear sky, and seeing deer and wild turkeys roam through our land. Things can change very quickly with high speed internet and all the modern luxuries. At Cabin Fever we have the best of both worlds!
  • I went with 3 other friends for the weekend and the experience was absolutely fantastic. The cabin was cozy and friendly. Decor was right on point and I really appreciated how the cabin was stocked with pretty much all kitchen appliances you needed. Finding things to do were not hard at all. There is the handy Cabin Fever binder that offered us ideas on what to do such as hiking at the Palomar State Park (100% recommend, it's a MUST DO). If not the outdoorsy type, there is a plethora of board games and a cozy fireplace where you can snuggle and make s'mores. At night, the Stars outside shine so bright. Definitely recommend this place again and again. There is nothing but good things to say. Thank you for the experience!

  • Great place to stay. Quiet, peaceful and serene environment.

  • Very nice and cozy getaway from crazy city life. Quite, beautiful and very relaxing.

    Spaike2018-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A nice place for our family to visit - easy to find, peaceful setting (despite proximity to the main road), well stocked, decorated and maintained. Great fireplace too! The State Park was quite close and we very much enjoyed our hike.

  • My husband and I stayed at Cabin Fever for our 14 year anniversary and we loved our stay from booking to checkout. Cabin Fever was well stocked with everything we needed. The bed was most comfortable and we both slept excellent. Bonnie is everything a host should be and more. We had excellent communication, she was extremely attentive, she was helpful and gave us plenty of suggestions for activities. Note: You have to wash your own sheets, blankets & towels, but then again there is plenty of blankets & towels for your use. Just get the wash going early enough in the morning of checkout & you are good. Palomar Mountain is like a mini Yosemite. We explored the area, hiked the state park (a great place to catch the sunset, especially at the lookout). We drove down to Julian (1 hour away) for lunch, browsed the shops, and bought an apple pie to bake fresh! Very relaxing getaway!!! We hope to stay at Cabin Fever again!

    Rusty And Renae2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • There’s plenty of everything! Bonnie has thought of every detail and provided everything to make it a comfortable stay. The decor is with the seasons, and we loved all the bears that kept us company :)

  • Absolutely amazing cabin with thoughtful touches throughout! Clean with full amenities, the perfect getaway!

    Cho2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a super quiet and comfortable place to hide out or hangout. It’s just right for a cozy night in the woods. The cabin is big enough to entertain a few people, yet small enough to feel intimate with your loved ones. It’s just a very nice place to be!

  • A beautifully appointed cabin with everything you could want. Stocked with lots of amenities (olive oil soap! sunscreen! candles) and wonderfully designed. Close to Palomar Observatory and Palomar State Park (spend the afternoon fishing at Doane pond.) We'll be back for sure!

  • Teresa's place was very nice! The cabin is just perfect, with lots of thoughtful decorations and practical touches. It was a pleasure to stay there for a weekend and we would certainly come back.

  • The cabin is clean, bright and well decorated. We loved our stay. The host is super friendly and quick to respond.

    Melissa2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fantastic place for a weekend getaway-Teresa and Jim’s Partridge nest included everything and more! the interior of their place is very tastefully done and extremely homey. Their home is well equipped with everything you need! We will definitely visit again

    Alexea2018-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • As some have said, the pictures do not do this place justice! It is in a wonderful area (the scenery is gorgeous) and the cabin itself is beautifully decorated. Several amenities available as well; kitchen tools, commonly used items throughout the home, etc. Very easy to find plenty of room to park and unload all your stuff. We loved the pet friendly aspect too! Bringing our pup along was great and there were food bowls available for use. Definitely would come here again.

    Beau2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Partridge Nest was great! Teresa was an amazing host and had Christmas lights on and even the heater on for us when we arrived. Amenities in the cabin were spot on and a great relaxing weekend. The wife and kids are already talking about when we can go back.

    Ryan2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved this cabin. It had everything we needed and more!! Felt so much at home and Teresa was super attentive to our needs.

This is a secluded cabin with a private hot tub on the edge of a wilderness area and is hike in only. 350' trail. There are miles of hiking trails. There is another casita on the property that is not hike in. See other listing. Pueblo https://abnb.me/5BfXSEJWwQ
The Bunkhouse is a rustic and very private hiker's and writer's retreat on the edge of a San Diego back country preserve. There is a sun deck and a Softtub jacuzzi in a private outdoor area. Keep in mind that you will hike to the cabin from a trail that is 300' from the parking spot. This is the place to come for complete rest, privacy and quiet from modern day distractions. The Bunkhouse has rustic charm combined with outdoor living. There is no distracting cable TV, but we do offer wi-fi. Dogs are always welcome. You can hike the trails straight off the property or visit Hellhole Canyon Preserve just 1/2 mile down the dirt road. Sunbathe on your completely private deck and soak in the secluded hot tub! There is a propane bbq and a hot plate, toaster oven and pancake griddle, a coffee maker and a small fridge. There are also all the dishes and pots and pans that you will need and towels and bed linens are provided. Gaze at the stars, listen to the coyotes howl, read, write, hike and fire up the grill. Remember to bring carrots or apples if you want to feed the horses!
This is a wilderness/wild land interface neighborhood located adjacent to a preserve area.
  • An incredible getaway location. Hope to be back sometime!

    Ryan2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit and it was just as relaxing as before!! Highly recommend staying here if you want a remote relaxation destination for an affordable price.

    Rory2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is definitely a hidden gem. Recommend for couples looking to get away and detach from the hustle of everyday city life. It truly was an oasis. Lots of open space and just enough space for you and your partner to feel secluded without feeling trapped. The outdoor shower was so relaxing and the views from the jacuzzi were unreal! (My girlfriend and I saw the moon rise behind the adjacent hills and the sunset over the valley). Beautiful wind chimes; lots of birds to watch. There’s plenty of space between the bedroom and the kitchen/bathroom to host a small brunch or dinner. The hiking around the property is a bit steep but clearly marked, so be prepared. It’s a 5 minute drive away from Hellhole Canyon Preserve (which is beautiful scenery, but also not for those that want a flat, simple walk.) Debi made everything so easy for our stay. The compost toilet isn’t as intimidating as one might think; the instructions for working all appliances were all neatly packaged in a folder. There are plenty of utensils, spices, and dish ware. Cute wildlife roams around (careful for all the mosquitos—a minor inconvenience). Cool winery (Hilltop Winery) nearby. Cozy bed and plenty of space to unpack for a weekend. Definitely recommend!!!

  • Thank you Deborah! This is the second time my boyfriend and I have been able to stay on your property- the first at the Artists Casita, and we were so happy the entire time! The serenity of nature, and peace and quiet that we experienced was perfect. We were able to take a short hike near the cabin, and soak in the hot tub afterwards. I highly recommend this cute little place for some serious rest and relaxation. Thank you again!

    Molly2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • If this place is available around the time you're looking to take a vacation, I would snatch it up right away! No joke I had my doubts but it's such Great place! Very clean, very romantic, & had everything needed, nice comfortable bed & etc. Loved it

    Isaiah2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was cozy and clean with beautiful scenery. I especially loved all the decor and the fact that we can interact with the horses. The black one especially was so majestic & had much character & personality. We bought carrots and fed them. I will be back!

    Rick2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is I absolutely loved every part of this place. I would live there if Deborah let me.

    Starlin2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Rustic Retreat is just as its name suggests. The bedroom cabin is warm and cozy. The outdoor shower is divine and the hot tub is magical! The location is close enough to amenities/attractions to make day trips easy, but secluded enough to feel like you are in your own world. I look forward to returning in the near future!

Starhavens is nestled on 10 acres in the mountains of San Diego, surrounded by woods and wildlife, off mountain ocean views, and perfect sunsets. Enjoy barbecues or gathering on the deck and patio with a peek at the famous Palomar observatory. Beach and more are just 30-50 min away, the State Park is down the road. Starhavens sleeps 12, game room with 4K TV and plenty of games, living room features a wood burning stove. Kitchen and coffee bar fully stocked. 4wd Nov.-April depending on weather.
This mountain paradise sits on 10 acres with views to the ocean and to the famous Palomar Mountain Observatory. Take a stroll through the forest, or hike the State Park just minutes away! Summers boast cooler temperatures than surrounding areas, and winters often bring snow! With local seasonal festivals and community gatherings, wineries, botanical garden trails, historic gold mines, fine dining, the beach, organic produce farms, and even an amusement park all within an hour's drive, Star Havens is truly a "has it all" location. 4-wheel drive and/or chains are generally required by the Sheriff on the mountain when there is snow on the ground. Snow is possible anywhere between November and May, so plan accordingly for a beautiful, snowy experience! 4wd Nov.-April depending on weather.
Star Havens is located in the neighborhood adjoining the State Park. Nestled in the forest shared by several lavish estates, this location is known for it's quiet and secluded environment. Unlike other Palomar Mountain neighborhoods, this neighborhood features houses accompanied by generous acreage, quiet neighbors, and a mountain retreat "vibe." 4wd Nov.-April depending on weather.
  • What a magical place Star Havens is! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend on the top of Palomar Mountain in this beautiful family cabin. Brandon and Heidi have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable and are amazing hosts!

This is a very peaceful wooded area. There is wild life - Birds, Deer, creatures, Bear and Mountain Lyons. I have yet to see a Bear or Mountain Lyon but I do hear they exist.
  • Great place to take a break from the busy life, sit on the porch and listen to the forest.

  • We had an amazing time. Super cute cabin and Denise and Dave were wonderful!

    Anelise2019-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • A true gem, had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. Kept up very well, and the functional outdoor stove was such a cool amenity! Plenty of trails to go explore and the observatory is not too far!

    Tyler2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our experience at Dave and Denise's cabin in Palomar! They were so sweet and checked on us to make sure we enjoyed our stay! Dave even drove up to drop off a coffee machine and a reusable k-cup after I asked if they might have one for the coffee we brought with us! Definitely will book again when we're in need of a snowy getaway!

    Lindsay2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was sweet and quite. Trees in the backyard and a lot of nature that you can see from the balcony. The cabin is new, well occupied, clean warm and great for families with small children. We enjoyed our vexation there. Thank you very much Dave and Denise!

  • Great house with a beautiful view.

    Danielle2019-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Not listed, once you get up there, the house is wheelchair friendly. Extremely responsive host who was available and helpful whenever we needed them. You do need to add 20 minutes to your commute if you want to go anywhere though. Great place, and I recommend.

    Deven2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we could have asked for! Laurence provided great directions for us to find this great home tucked away in the mountains. The view is even more amazing than the pictures can show. From coffee to laundry detergent, Laurence had the place ready to go with everything we could have asked for. I do suggest, however, trying to check-in at (Website hidden by Airbnb) it gets foggy at night and could be difficult to find the house.

    Austin2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • PERFECT! Clean, inviting, private. It is everything you'd want in an Airbnb. Little touches throughout the house gave this place the magic we saw. Stunning views!

    Eric2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic, especially for those looking for a quiet, remote getaway. The location was great, not too far away from civilization, but enough to feel separated. We enjoyed to short 25-30 minute cruise on the 2 lane roads over to Temecula during the day, then spending an evening in cooking a nice meal and having cocktails on the patio to enjoy the night. It's the perfect balance. Laurence's place has a fully stocked kitchen with an abundance of appliances, we were able to utilize to enjoy all of our meals. Waking up early and enjoying some coffee on the patio taking in the view was especially wonderful as well. If you are looking for a getaway focused on relaxing, but the ability to get out and explore the wineries and such, this place is perfect.

    Alex And David2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The views will not disappoint! Spent every morning greeting the sunrise with a cup of coffee reclining in a comfortable Chair with a beautiful view! The area was super quiet and beautiful— definitely a peaceful retreat. Laurence had a full kitchen with more utensils than you can think of, coffee, creamer, shampoo, body wash, detergent, dish soap etc etc. everything was extremely well thought out! My only gripe - and it wouldn’t be an honest review without this- I wasn’t a huge fan of the mattress. It’s a foam mattress and my back was just not feeling it. However, to each their own... so some may enjoy it. All this being said, Laurence’s place was a dream. Thank you!

    Lena2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The view is beautiful and better than expected. We didn't want to leave, because this place is peaceful and relaxing.

    Liza2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to relax and unwind. Laurence was very helpful I booked same day and even with short notice every thing was great. I showed up at night and got a little lost but he helped guide me in. It is a bit away from everything so come prepared but nothing beats the views. We even had thunderstorms pass through one day!

The Fiddlers cabin is open and spacious yet comfortable and cozy. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood in the woods. Originally built in 1909 but recently updated. Has two bedrooms with two queen beds and bunk beds. Great for families and your dog is welcome with an additional cleaning fee.
The Fiddler's Cabin is nestled among Bigcone Douglas firs, incense cedars, and black oak trees. Sit on the front porch and enjoy the peaceful quietude. Slow down from the bustle of everyday life and bbq on the deck. Listen to birds sing while relaxing in a classic screened-in patio. Snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove. Enjoy family dinners at the dining table. This cabin was built in 1909 and has been recently restored. It feels open and spacious while still intimate and cozy. Vaulted ceilings in the living room and master bedroom. Original farmhouse sink and range in the kitchen. Clawfoot tub as well as a standing shower in the bathroom. Hall walls and interior doors have been handmade and reclaimed from original exterior siding. The kitchen is stocked with items for your convenience, including pots, pans, toaster, coffee pot, and microwave. Palomar Mountain has many hiking trails, state park, and observatory within driving distance of the cabin. A county park is within walking distance which is great for picnics and exploring. You may find yourself wondering if you've left Southern California and traveled all the way to the Sierras.
While neighbors are close by, it is a quiet neighborhood. When you sit on the front deck you can look out at the trees and feel like you are isolated in the woods.
  • A lovely, comfortable place.

  • Great cabin, nice and cozy. We had a great time and it was perfect for our New Year's getaway. The cabin wasn't too hard to find and Nicole and Mike did a great job at providing all the necessary information for our stay. Definitely recommend!

  • Seriously super cozy! Felt right at home when we arrived. The amount of kitchen utensils was AMAZING... they had everything you possibly needed. The screen porch is where it’s at people!! It was great to be outside without dealing with the BUGS. They were relentless. This home does not disappoint with amenities. If your trying to get away for a day or two... STAY here.

  • Fiddler's Cabin was just what we needed -- a very quiet getaway in a mountain area without city traffic! It was super-clean and was easy to get to with Nicole and Mike's excellent directions.

  • Fiddler's Cabin was perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, watching the acorn woodpeckers, and just relaxing. Kids had a great time playing. We definitely recommend.

  • Beautiful cabin that's fairly secluded. There are some neighborhoods but not close enough for there to be any issues with noise. It was very chilly and it took a few hours for the cabin to warm up but there were plenty of blankets to use in the meantime. The kitchen was perfect and well stocked with pots, pans and tableware. We really enjoyed cooking and lounging around all weekend. Very relaxing!

Newly renovated, farmhouse style, spacious, home on five acres of meadow and forest. Towering oaks, firs and cedars surround the home making it feel like your own private forest. Rest outside on the deck to take in the forest sounds and see wildlife. Sit on the bench near the house to stargaze and look for shooting stars. Walk around the property and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Inside you can enjoy the vintage Wedgwood stove, clawfoot bathtub, comfy beds, and clean modern-farmhouse decor.
This space was recently renovated with lots of TLC and special touches. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, bonus room upstairs with TV and smart DVD player, WiFi...
We are on a five acre parcel so you have some space between you and the neighbors, but we ask that you are considerate of the peace and quiet to be found on the mountain. The neighbors just above us are Upper Meadow Lodge. You can walk between the two if others in your group are staying there. There is an underground artesian spring under the property and you will be able to enjoy our well water.

  • Cabin is great, definitely recommend you spend some time here :)

  • This location in the woods was great! It felt private, clean, and peaceful the entire stay. The drive up the mountain was enjoyable as you had a few areas to look out from. One thing to note, if you stay here and plan to cook, the burner on the stove need to rotate fully downward to get a proper flame. We would love to stay again next time we're in town!

  • We loved our stay at Quail Meadow! We booked It for a long weekend for our annual girls trip, and we were not disappointed. The house is so lovely. Such a warm, comfortable environment with such thoughtful touches. The kitchen is so well stocked, actually the best out of any Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. They have everything you could need! Each room is decorated so warmly, all the little touches make it so cozy. We enjoyed sitting outside and saw so many deer on the property. A great location on the mountain. Close to the store and Mother’s Kitchen. Nicole and Mike were excellent hosts and were so quick to respond to any question we had. Highly, highly recommend this property!

  • Very well and thoughtfully stocked, clean, comfortable, overall exceeded expectations. The outdoor fire pit located just outside the cabin with a generous supply of firewood was a great bonus. Teresa also proactively gave me notice that an early check in was available. This was greatly appreciated and not something I have typically experienced w other hosts. Speaking for our group of 6 we all highly recommend the place, everyone loved it.

  • This aesthetically pleasing cabin is great for a get away trip. It has everything you need, the decor creates atmosphere, and the hosts Teresa and Jim are very nice. I highly recommend this place!

  • I couldn’t say enough about this wonderful A-frame. We had the greatest time and stayed warm by the stove-fire inside all weekend. I can’t wait to come back.

  • Great place, amazing experience.

    Michael2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The cabin was well stocked and felt exactly as we would have expected. We were all very impressed upon walking in the door. Teresa was very accessible for any information we needed leading up to our stay. We hadn't even left the cabin to come home and we were already talking about going back for a longer stay next time.

  • The owl chalet is perfect for a family/friends holiday trip. It’s cozy yet spacious, everything is provided for you except foodstuffs. The master suite has a private balcony overlooking the surrounding forest and wildlife. The master bath also has a jetted tub which comes in handy after a long hike. The cabin also provides a wide variety of games to keep you entertained as well as wooden blocks and Lincoln logs for the little ones. Teresa is a great communicator and host, all of our questions were answered promptly. She also made some very helpful suggestions on what to bring/places to explore. Our family had an absolutely wonderful time here and will definitely book again in the future.

    Ali2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at the spotted owl. It was the perfect place to disconnect from work and city stress. The kids didn't want to leave either. At first they were disappointed that there was no wifi, but they got over that quickly and started actually using their imagination. Teresa and Jim were great hosts. Very responsive and helpful. The house is very well stocked. Beds are comfortable. Everything was clean. Definitely recommend.

  • This place is great. The host is very good at communicating details about your stay. The cabin is clean and very nice. It's extremely quiet here. We felt right at home here. Actually, our friends staying here too commented on how nice this place really is. Highly recommended!

  • Forever Views is a perfect name for this Chalet! When we opened the curtains we were in complete amazement. You could see the OCEAN. We had a mountain home with an ocean view. We could not believe our eyes. The description did not lie. My dad, who grew up fishing around Catalina Island, San Clemente Island and Coronado Island, was super impressed to be able to see all the Islands at once. The huge back deck was a perfect place to start your morning with a cup of coffee or unwind from a day of hiking with a cocktail. The attention to detail inside the Chalet was so nice. It really made feel you at home. Every bed was set with their own towels and throw blankets. All the bathrooms were set with all needed toiletries. Kitchen was stocked with condiments, coffee and tea. All the appliances were really nice and clean. There was a Brita filter for tasty drinking water. We had 5 little kids and they had such a great time. On the morning of the day we left we went hiking around the property and were able to spot some deer. They were so excited. The only problem we had with this place is we did not stay long enough! The Chalet was so inviting you didn't want to leave.

  • First off words do not do this place justice but here goes; Tracey was quick with all responses, check in was simple, the views take your breath away, all the little things are already there down to the seasonings for your cooking, kids stuff is already provided, I could go on for days about all the little things that are offered. Do not pass up an opportunity to visit this piece of heaven, did I mention the views? I loved sleeping under the huge skylight, waking to the beautiful views right from my bed, I literally keep every blind & curtain open the entire 4 days, because every where I looked was so amazing. The sunsets are gorgeous, it looks like double suns. You will see lots of people stopping down below to take pictures every night at sunset. As I said I could go on for days so just do it, book it and experience the little piece of heaven that awaits you here on Palomar Mountain.

  • Tracey’s home was absolutely perfect for our weekend. 8 of us stayed in the cabin, as well as my two small dogs. The space was wonderful and cozy, perfect for a weekend in the mountains. The land was gorgeous, we went on a nice little hike and had a great time. Tracey also has a nice throw blanket for each person, as well as items for the dogs, so we all felt very welcome and comfortable. She was a great host and we will likely try to stay here again, it was that great an experience :)

  • This is a beautiful chalet overlooking the scenic valley. This place is surrounded by woods. The deck is beautiful to sit and enjoy the nature. The hostess is very friendly and easy to get access.

  • Tracey’s Chalet was a cozy space that provided a beautifully scenic patio and property where you and your family can get away and smell the fresh wooded air. Tracey’s space was stocked full of everything you would ever need for cooking and entertaining friends and family as well as plenty of games. The rooms were very clean and provided plenty of towels and blankets. Highly recommend a stay in Tracey’s Chalet!

  • This chalet has everything you need to relax and have a good time. My friends and I came here for a writing retreat and there were so many places in the house to let us work in peace. Additionally, the kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, and cooking utensils to make meals. The view from the balcony was amazing, I wish I could see it every day. I think this spot is perfect to come with family or a group of friends to get away and relax in nature. Also the Palomar Observatory is not too far away and worth checking out if you’re in the area. I would recommend this place if you’re in the area or looking for a place for a group.

Rustic tranquility is this lovely home nestled amongst a mixture of oak/pine woodland with 80 foot tall trees surrounding. It has a tree house feel to it, especially upstairs. The original home was built in 1920s. This is one of several historic cabins in the area. Plenty of natural light illuminates the space with skylights. Rustic fireplace, kitchen wood burning stove (can be used for cooking) and 2 potbelly stoves add coziness and the perfect ambiance to staying in a rural mountain cabin.
This cabin has two stories. It's approximately 1,400 square feet. It has a nice master bedroom upstairs ("Tree House Room") with a sitting nook for gazing at the beautiful view with a cup of tea or glass of wine. There's a spiral staircase to the upstairs, definitely not for the clumsy soul. "The Purple Room" which is my favorite room to wake up in has a lot of French windows that were taking out of another old home and reused. It definitely get's colder in this room but there is a propane wall heater to take the edge off. It has a nice sky light for star gazing before you nod off to sleep. And the view of the tree tops in the morning is wonderful. There's a small kids room with bunk beds. They have comfy memory foam mattresses and it is stocked with some books and games. There is a nook in the "Dome Room" which is another amazing place to sleep and watch stars or wake up to a view of trees and wildlife activity. It also has a comfortable memory foam mattress. All beds have good quality mattresses and sheets/ pillows all to add a to a comfortable experience for you. I am always very comfortable sleeping on each bed. The cabin has a lot of reused French windows and the oval window upstairs is vintage so please be careful. I prefer that they do not get opened. The living room and dome room has old milled wood from the mountain. You can see the saw blade marks in the wood. All of the stain glass was made by a previous cabin owner. The claw foot tub and sink are also antique. So there are many things that make this cabin unique and very charming. Your contributions will not only help me pay bills but also restore this lovely home.
Old and historic. All part of the original Bailey Resort a hundred years ago. Very quiet. GREAT PLACE TO ENJOY FALL COLOR! This cabin is around 5,000 feet in elevation. It's a great birders retreat. Cute Pygmy or Saw-Whet Owls have been seen in the area. It's just a bike ride to the State Park at approximately 2.5 miles. If you ride in you do not need to pay the entrance fee. If you drive it is $10 dollars to park. The park offers 14 miles of forest and meadow trails, spectacular view points especially on Boucher Hill, a fishing pond with trout, bass, and cat fish and lovely picnic areas surrounded by 400 year old trees. The General Store (11-5p) and Mother's Kitchen (9-4p) are a nice 3 mile bike ride from the cabin where you can get a nice baked good or vegetarian breakfast/lunch. The World Famous Observatory is about an 8 mile drive. Their hours are 9-3p and they have two tours on weekends (11 and 1p). Lake Henshaw, for the serious fisherman, is about a 15 mile drive. You can rent boats there on a beautiful lake and eat at a nice restaurant called The Round Up. The La Jolla Indian Reservation is at the base of the mountain where you can experience the longest Zip Line Ride in San Diego County. You'll have to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) for more info. Anza Borrego Desert is an hour drive. Julian is an and hour drive. Valley Center has an assortment of casinos. I do recommend visiting Bates Nut Farm. There is another great lake there called Lake Wohlford for the avid Fisherman along the Valley Center/Escondido border. There is also a nice cafe there called the Lake Wohlford Cafe.
  • This place is a historic and rustic gem of a spot yet still has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay! Jessica was nice enough to make accomodations for our large family on short notice. The cabin is on a hill with views of the valley below and is surrounded by huge cedar, oak, and fir trees. It's cozy, warm, beautiful, and comfortable. We loved it and wished we could have stayed much longer!

  • Jessica's place was exactly as described. Great place for a getaway to escape reality and just sit and listen to the sounds of nature. We really loved the deck for mornings and evenings just sitting outside looking at the mountains and listening to the birds and wildlife. We took the suggestion of the purple room and it was a great room to wake up in and look out the windows and door and skylight. The fireplace is gorgeous and you can really see the original cabin while in the living room. Kitchen was ample for what wee needed. If you are looking to get away and relax this is the spot.

    George2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was perfect. Everything we needed was available. We had such a peaceful time. We loved how secluded it was. Jessica's home was a perfect getaway and will definitely be back.

  • Who would have guessed what was waiting for us at the end of a long windy road and finally at the end of a dirt driveway. But the drive was well worth it and the wonderful setting in which we spent the next four days. was an absolute delight. Peggy and I never tired of anything we did because the eclectic decorations, furniture and cabin setting was so unexpected. I found myself trying out the chairs and beds in each room. We never tired and came home exhilarated. Have you ever had to pull in the latch string at night when you went to bed? Every morning found me in a different setting with my coffee and my reading material. There is a television but who needed it? We can hardly wait to try out that cabin again!

    Ruth2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I had an amazing stay at Jessica’s cozy cabin! We were attending a friend’s wedding at Bailey’s right down the road so it was very convenient for that. But it ended up being the perfect relaxing retreat that we both needed- it’s so refreshing to be unplugged with no service or internet. The view from Jessica’s patio is just incredible, you feel like you’re staying in a treehouse! The kitchen was also very stocked and equipped, which I always appreciate in an Airbnb. Jessica was very detailed in her communication and so hospitable! Highly recommend this cabin, we hope to come back again soon!

Nestled in a grove of tall Incense Cedars, this cabin awaits you. Come on up and relax around the fire pit. Sway in the hammock with a good book. Listen to the wind in the trees. Gaze up at the stars on dark nights. Astronomers bring your telescope & binoculars! The wood burning stove will keep you toasty on chilly nights. Lots of games here for indoors or out. The elevation is 5645’ so we sometimes get snow when lower places don’t! Ocean and city views from the deck on clear days and nights!
Palomar Observatory, Palomar Mountain State Park and are all less than a 10 minute drive. Birch Hill is the southeast part of the mountain. Just 20 minutes from Harrah’s Rincon Casino.
Close to the world famous Palomar Observatory!
  • Will is very hospitable, kind, available. He gave us a choice of breakfast, plus washed our dishes for us after we made our dinner. He is delightful, respectful and kind. If you like a really quiet place out of the city, this is it.

  • I loved this place. Serene, clean, great location. Great host. Nice pets. Remember to come up with a full tank of gas. Mothers Kitchen, the only restaurant in town has awesome lasagna. There is a neighbor’s horse that is very sweet, Wills breakfasts were wonderful, a hammock for lounging. Great local hikes, fire pit when safe to do so, and tremendous star gazing. I will definitely go back as a guest. The cedars and pines are so beautiful. Will adds little touches that mean a lot. He is a host with the most.

    Kim2018-08-31T00:00:00Z

We are on a remote side of the Mountain. The closest house is a few blocks (on dirt road) away. They have a small farm, goats, chickens and sheep. You do not here them. They have a dog named Charles Bronson, he roams the property, but is very shy, mellow and does not bite. He may bark or follow you around, just tell him to go home. I will include info for Charles Bronson's owner when you book the cabin
  • Comfortable, stylish, cozy cabin high up in the mountain. Very secluded yet well maintained.

    Nicolas2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The kind of secluded, quiet spot that makes you realize how loud the woods (birds, woodpeckers, coyotes, etc) really is...perfect for getting away from the craziness of the city for a bit. The owner wasn't kidding about the rugged roads; I'm so thankful for my 4WD. Quaint cabin with unexpected high-end amenities (Viking range, glorious water pressure, dimming lights) and fun characteristics (loft, wood-burning fireplace, christmas lights rimming the deck). All in all, it made for a lovely weekend away.

    Ashley2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Falling Cedar is a magical retreat in the big trees of upper Palomar Mountain. The owners have meticulously upgraded an older cabin with modern elements for comfort. The kitchen is a treat to work in with a Wolf range and efficient design choices. Bring your own food for their ample fridge and freezer and know you can cook just about anything with the provided pots and pans etc. The bathroom has a luxurious soaking tub with a flexible shower head. They provide all the wood you need to keep the fire burning in a sweet little wood stove. (We even made smores!) Lovely views from every window with a comfortable table on the back deck and another eating table on the patio adjacent to the beautiful original outdoor stone hearth. We'll be coming again no doubt!

  • We love Falling Cedar Cabin and are very thankful that Don and Mary Jo open up their cabin as a vacation rental. The cabin is small but has all the amenities one could want including a Viking range, full-size Refrigerator, wood stove, comfortable Queen bed, and wonderful deep bath tub. My favorite place to hang out is the deck. We love being able to listen to all the birds and just enjoy how beautiful it is there. Suggested things to bring: DVD’s, books, newspaper and matches to use the wood stove, flashlights, groceries including spices and cooking oil, ziploc bags and maybe any special cook or bakeware. There is plenty of towels, pillows, coffee, shampoo and firewood. We will definitely continue to visit this cabin whenever possible!

We offer a large picnic table shaded by oak trees; bring your picnic basket for an outdoor lunch. Tour the world famous Palomar Observatory nearby. There are hiking trails all around the area, many in Palomar State Park, also minutes away. Take a book for a swing in one of our quiet hammocks and watch the soaring hawks. Cook out on the deck on your gas barbecue. The sunsets are epic, and at night the stars will burn brighter than you've ever seen. You'll have a front row seat, swaying on the porch swing (turn the outdoor heater on if you're chilly). Indoors, you'll delight in every modern luxury. Palomar Mountain is located in the Northeast of San Diego county. With an elevation of 6,142 feet, it is a popular camping destination, known for the famous Palomar Observatory and Palomar Mountain State Park, and sweeping views of San Diego and Riverside counties. The terrain is rugged, abundant with oak and conifer tree species, and wildlife such as mule deer, squirrels, coyote, foxes and hawks. There are only 61 permanent residents on the mountain, so while it boasts close proximity to North County San Diego, many casinos, and the Temecula Valley, it is secluded and quiet.
  • Phenomenal views , extremely private and relaxing with lots of room.

  • The house has an AMAZING view and is really nicely decorated and comfortable inside. Erik is a very responsive and flexible host, who let us check in early and leave late. The area is very peaceful and quiet near the summit of the mountain.

  • This is by far the best Airbnb house I have ever stayed at and my fiancé and I usually Airbnb when we travel. The house was immaculate and stunning at arrival. The views are definitely once in a lifetime views. The house is fully stocked with all you could ever need. The instructions couldn't be more clearer. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend.

  • Edgewood is the perfect home to book if you're looking for rest and relaxation. The home is very cozy and peaceful. the views from the home are truly unforgettable. Erik & Kelly are amazing hosts! They had fresh flowers on the dining room table and fresh lemons on the kitchen counter. I highly recommend this property!!

  • Our adult family members booked this home and we were super pleased with everything about our stay. Definitely a gem! Home is at the top of Mount Palamar, so honestly, the most magnificent view in the area!! The huge wrap around balcony with the sturdy bench swing is where we gathered 90% of the time. Truly breath taking. The beds, pillows and Linins were very comfortable. It could sleep 8 people comfortably. My 25 and 26 year olds slept in the bunk beds with no issues, they have extra long mattresses. It was an unusually hot weekend in CA but the refrigerated air kept the home very cool and comfortable. A couple things to note though, the walls are thin and if you are upstairs you can easily hear normal conversations happening downstairs. Anything happening in the master bedroom can be heard loud and clear in the livingroom/kitchen. (Newlyweds need to take the basement bedroom where there is tons of privacy)! One other thing to note is that there is only 1 shower. It is a very large, nice shower but we had to rotate 6 people in and out. Honestly, we planned around this and it wasn't a big deal since the master has a bathtub and the basement has a half bath. The owners were excellent to work with and even allowed us to check in a little early. We look forward to staying here again next year!!

  • Absolutely amazing place. The host is incredibly friendly and they have all the accommodations decked out (extra towels, kitchenware, grill, etc.) Great place to get away and enjoy nature, and incredible view of the sunset and stars at night (wait for the moon to go down). Would highly recommend and would likely be back again.

  • The place was great. People that were amazing, great views, and a clean warm cabin. The road getting up was sus but it’s really worth.

  • Our party of 4 had the best time in the cabin. Adam was very warm and welcoming to us. He also brought over a plate of fresh delicious goodies one morning for all of us to share. We met a few people on the property and they too were very kind and welcoming we to us. The back porch on this cabin is by far one of the most peaceful and beautiful places that I’ve ever seen. Also, the yoga deck on the property has the AMAZING sunsets! Highly recommend taking a blanket and walking down-You may even see some owls come out to hunt too. We will definitely be coming back in the near future!

  • It was the most amazing Christmas weekend cabin. Everything we needed was already in cabin, and we were greeted by the nicest couple who would host us for the weekend. The allowed for our special circumstances for our medically fragile child. Ms. Vicki always answered our questions in a timely manner. I highly recommend you visit this amazing property.

  • Just a few steps away from an amazing view. We stayed here for one night but it didn't feel like near enough! Vicki and April are hilarious and made our stay even more fun. We are already planning our next trip!

    Cassidy2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location and overall experience. We have 3 teens that just wanted to unplug, go on hikes together and make new sibling memories before the school year started up again. The cabin was roomier than anticipated with decent sized bedrooms and high ceilings. The overall feeling was rustic and charming with whispers of history all around it. I appreciated the First Aid supplies that came in handy. The pantry had more spices than we expected and the kitchen was well-appointed overall. We seemed lose power each time we used the coffee maker but it would return within 10 minutes. Also, flushing the toilet in the middle of the night will cause the house to grumble because of the pump but still worth the price of being off grid for us. The on-site host was incredible. He was so kind and forthcoming with great information and history of the property. One of our kids does Archeology fieldwork near Mesa Verde, CO, and found the Harrison dig site magical. Lots of great reminders of history in every direction of property. Overall the experience is peaceful, grounding, & rustic with understated modern conveniences and loads of charm.

It's very close to outstanding hiking and interesting places to visit. The home was very clean and well-designed. The view from the home is beautiful. • I highly recommend renting this spacious cabin for large families or groups. There were a total of 11 adults, 4 children, and 1 infant in my group and the cabin accommodated us just fine. The cabin was very clean, stocked with plenty of paper towels and toilet paper, and bath towels. The owners were very attentive to our needs and very pleasant to communicate with. They dropped off an extra tank of propane just to make sure that we barbecued without any disruptions.

  • We had a magical time at Vicki's lodge. The views are spectacular and the place was so tranquil. The house was in great shape with added little amenities, such as bug repellent and sunscreen, which was very helpful. The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment, and there were little touches such as a bowl of fruit that was quite nice. We also enjoyed the tour of the land by a staff member. We plan to come back soon. Thank you Vicki!

  • This place is awesome. It’s in the mountains and pretty secluded. Vicky and Mister were very accommodating and the views are second to none. If you don’t mind sharing space with nature, this is a truly special place with even more special people helping to run it. Everyone was incredibly helpful and genuinely kind. The tremendous hospitality only added to our stay. We look forward to our next trip to this wonderfully hidden get away.

  • What a stunning gem to find! This was the perfect option For a weekend away the city. The design of the cabin is one of a kind, made with a lot of personality, really cozy. The views felt like living in the clouds and the whole estate is great. We loved the breakfast treats in the morning and the hospitality of the owner, she showed us around. The house had everything and loved the yoga deck!!! Fully recommend this paradise.

  • We had a super relaxing 2-day stay at the ranch! The views from the giant deck were magnificent and we loved being surrounded by nature and huge old oak trees. Vicki gave us a wonderful tour of the property and intro to its history. The property was a little rough around the edges (no cold water in the shower... though who needs a shower on a ranch anyhow?) but we had everything we needed and the master bed was super comfy, with nice cotton sheets. Word to the wise, in late July there are a lot of bugs (mostly flies). Otherwise a nice place to get away!

    Kate2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location is why you should check this place out. Incredible views of the valley below and tons of room to explore the ranch! Big beautiful patio overlooking the valley to hang out on and eat/drink/talk with family and friends.

  • Great glamping experience at the Rancho Serenity! Mister Adam is a hospitalitarian supreme and his ranch hand, Dylan was also a fine fellow! The property had those little things we forgot on loan and it was just such a great location for camping at. The rich history of the property was a great bonus! Thank you!!!

    Paul2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • First off the pictures of this place were not even the tent we were scheduled to stay in (much smaller and a different number of beds). The man on-site was so rude and unwelcoming. The tents zippers are broken and left open throughout the day so when we tried to lay down for the night there was multiple cockroaches and spiders in the tent. Obviously camping you will come across bugs but these very large spiders were the size of my palms and crawling right next to my head when laying down! Also all three tents sit on a colony of ant hills. We wound up leaving around 9 pm and driving over an hour home because this experience was a true nightmare.

    Angela2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were the only guests on the ranch and the whole place had a very magic feeling. The sandy road up to the ranch brought us above the clouds and offered incredible views. We were greeted by Dylan who showed us around and kindly prepared us a campfire. Beds in the tent are very comfortable and we didn't need a heater.

    Lars2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place, awesome hospitality. Great communication to get us up there, late at night a bit tough to find but Mister's excellent help got us right in. Great touches; flashlights and a bunch of extras made for a nice welcome. Thank you for making our July 4th special and sometime in the future would love to return to explore more of the beautiful area and amazing views.

  • This place is amazing and Alex was a great and understanding host for our large party. The view from the house was breathtaking. There was lots of outdoor space to spend time looking at the view and cooking BBQ. The house was super spacious and there were so many beds to accommodate everyone. Great to have TVs, pool table, stereo, and games for entertainment.

  • The house was great. Filled with endless unique little decorations. I spent a lot of time this weekend giving tours of the place. The views are incredible, the house itself is great. If I have a complaint it’s that the pool was not available but that wasn’t a big deal.

    Dylan2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house has a lot of character. Was glad to find a place to accommodate our group of 19

  • This house was just as advertised: amazing views, lots of beds and the place was really sparkling clean. We stayed here for a bachelor party, and everyone loved it. Also the very quirky design touches throughout the house made it an extra fun place to stay for a weekend.

  • Great place with amazing views. Can't wait to come back.

    Andrew2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived at Alex's place I felt at home. He walked me through his property and gave me the run down on the basics and do's and dont's which is very important to me. He made it clear to send him a message if I had a question or concern. The place was definitely bigger than what I expected, lots of rooms with lots of hidden sleeping areas which was definitely fun for the kids. The place was given to us sparkling clean with lots of toilet paper, towels, hand soap, etc. The house had a central air heating system which worked wonderfully and don't worry there was a Carbon Monoxide detector near one of the vents for peace in mind. There were some rooms that didn't warm as much as the main house area but there were plenty of heaters that did the job perfectly. He also left the chimney ready with firewood and plenty of it around the property to give us a very nice toasty experience during the snowfall we experienced on New Years Eve. Did I mention snow? Yes! We did not plan for our stay to include snowfall which definitely made our stay extra extra special! We did not have an issue during the extreme weather/snow fall during our stay at the house, heating worked, no leaks etc. The only extreme challenge was getting out of the property the day after the snow fall. The property has a small inclination when trying to exit or enter the driveway which made it tough given that 2 of the 5 cars where 2WD without chains. Alex suggested zig zagging to get past the hill but even then it was tough. Now that wasn't our main challenge, the challenge was leaving the small private road which was also inclined with a couple of turns and of course given its a private street it was not plowed. Icy everywhere! But with a little patience and slow careful movements we made it down and into the public street safely. I STRONGLY suggest bringing chains if there is snow in the forecast..better safe than sorry. All in all, my entire family gave this place a thumbs up! They all enjoyed the view, snow, house decor and amenities (Pool table, reliable Wi-Fi, Chess, Tv's, etc.). Couldn't ask for a more Feliz Año Nuevo! Spent the last days of 2018 together and started the year with an adventure and memories. Gracias-Thank You Alex! -Bryan

  • Best place ever and best host ever. I would definitely come back. Excellent place and excellent view. It was very clean and all we needed was there. Thank you very much Alex.

  • Alex is soon to be super host.. he is very helpful and always available person. we always felt at home in his mountain house. breathtaking views of Palomar mountains. you can spend the whole day sitting on the patio and watching the shades of the mountains change with every hour but don't dare to miss the sunrise. The sunrise view seems like a private viewing because from the patio you can only see mountains and nature. the house was newly remodeled with every piece of furniture, furnishing, kitchen brand new or close to new. kids had loads of fun on the patio and the terrace. the game room and small patio downstairs is perfect for evening gatherings. Sauna is another big plus! I wish there was another shower upstairs and two of the smaller rooms also had AC but can't complain much about that. overall the cabin is more value than what we paid for. Cheers Alex until we come back again.

New to Airbnb but listed elsewhere for 6 years with over 100 five star reviews. CR is located in one of the most beautiful & remote areas of San Diego County . This unique accommodation was created by a artisan contractor couple with comfort and privacy in mind while offering a pet friendly, close to nature experience, hiking and proximity to wineries. The 16x20 luxury safari tent offers WIFI, DVD player, full bath, kitchen, hot tub, pizza oven, queen heated bed, fireplace, and fenced yard
The safari tent cabin is built on 16 x 33' deck with handcrafted railings, furniture and details created with love and attention by the owners . It offers fully equipped kitchen , spacious bath with clawfoot tub, queen size bed with heated mattress, electric fireplace and deck that overlooks Dodge Valley and Beauty Mountain Wilderness. There is a DVD player and library, WIFI for light internet use , ceiling fans, hot tub, 2 chaise lounges and dining set for alfresco dining. The deck is designed to keep your pets close if you do not want them to have access to the yard area which is also totally fenced with no-climb wire. It is suited for 2 people and is located on a private ranch in which the owners preside. There is minimal heat provided by the fireplace but most guests staying in winter when temps can get below 40 say it was tolerable. There is no air conditioning however there is usually a breeze and we have patio misters for use during July and August when it is often over 90. We also keep the hot tub cool during the summer months if guests desire. Our motto is "you won't see us unless you need us" and above all, we value our guests privacy so we leave them alone unless needed. Pets are welcome but because of deck elevation, it is not suitable for young children. Call regarding exceptions. The tent cabin opens to the outdoors at each end for views of the chaparral forest and can be closed during bad weather . The main draws to this area are is it natural beauty and accessiblity to wildlands, Julian and Old Town Temecula , abundant hiking and biking trails, leash free dog trails and the North Mountain Wine Trail.. The most popular activities of our guests are: making their own gourmet pizza on the deck, taking hot tub under stars, visiting the local wineries , visiting Julian for pie or walking around Old Town Temecula, Sky Sailing in Warner Springs, hiking to and picnicing at Eagle Rock, taking a tour of Palomar Observatory or just reading and relaxing at the cabin. You can expect to be serenaded by owls, coyotes and doves at night , see beautiful sunrises, get intoxicated by the scent of the wild native plants, walk under majestic Manzanita trees as big a oaks, have a blast with your companion making pizza, fall asleep under a scrub oak in the hammock, be awestruck by your hike to Eagle Rock, and last but not least, leave feeling renewed after spending quality time in this magic place.
We are in remote area with very few houses, stores or cafes within 20 minute drive. You will be serenaded by owls, coyotes and doves, see beautiful sunrises, get intoxicated with the scent the wild native plants, walk under majestic Manzanita Trees as big a oaks, and leave feeling renewed after spending quality time in this magic place.
  • Wow! This place is amazing!! So private and so many great touches. The hike was great, the view was great, the hosts were great, the place is INCREDIBLE, the dogs loved it and were very safe too. It’s all fenced in for privacy and safety. We will be back for sure!

  • A lovely house, fantastic host and a luxurious vacation is everything that Graciela and her house provides. Great for a weekend getaway, located in a hilly region, slightly away from San Diego but the house is soo cute, its worth the drive! Graciela is such a warm host, we didn't feel like leaving at the end at all. Thank you again!

  • Graciela was a gracious host - she did everything she could to make us feel at home and accommodate our needs. The house is in a rural area which was very lovely and a bit of a drive to get to. Our room was spacious and served our needs well.

  • First off, Graciela is a kind, warm and welcoming host! I brought my travel team to the Escondido area for a competition and has thrilled to find such a beautiful space. Our accommodations were clean and spacious, and the breakfast spread was delicious. Graciela always made sure we had what we needed. My athletes truly enjoyed themselves in the pool, and we all enjoyed a restful evening at this safe get-away. I would love to stay with Graciela again in the future, and highly recommend her and her lovely home for a stay.

  • Wonderful host, beautiful spot! Tent was clean and exactly as pictured. Slept 3 adult women just fine. We did find a scorpion inside but managed to trap it. Also there was some loud bass playing during the night but it sounded like it came from another property. Nevertheless, the views are gorgeous and the stargazing is awesome. Thank you!

    Emily2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy lodging, friendly hosts, and a view to remember! The tent had plenty of space for my boyfriend, myself, my 7yo son, and 70 lb. puppy. Towels were provided and bedding that kept us warm throughout the night. I had read about the bugs and was worried that it might be a problem for my son and my dog but the tent had a zip up screen door that helped keep them out for the most part. The ranch offered plenty of space to let my dog wander off leash and explore with my son. Don’t miss sunset at the yoga deck. Bring a glass of wine or a cold beer, set up a chair and soak it in. If you’re so inclined bring a snack or treat to share with other campers! We enjoyed short but sweet encounters with our tent neighbors and ranch volunteers. We were happy to share our s’mores with them at the campfire. We brought our small propane grill and cleared our spot with our host for proper placement. Our tent came with a table that served as a great prep station for our meals. My son loved the place and wished we had stayed two nights. We would happily return to the ranch and do more exploring of the Palomar mountain.

  • Great stay

    Kyle2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible place for our retreat. We had approximately 40 people and the location was easily able to accommodate us. Vicki and April were amazing hosts. Would definitely recommend booking for your group's outing.

    Trent2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We recently had a Winter Retreat for our high school ministry of about 60 teenagers and 15 chaperones. We looked into tons of locations and camps but couldn't find one that met our group's needs. I'm so glad none of the other locations worked out because we wouldn't have been introduced to the hidden gem that is Harrison Serenity Ranch. It was exactly what our group needed. Wide open space to relax, explore and enjoy a kind of peace and quiet that doesn't exist in LA. Teens are often brutally honest when it comes to their opinions about things so I was a bit nervous to hear what they thought of Harrison Serenity Ranch. I was pleasantly surprised when everyone said they LOVED it and would rather come back here next year than go back to the camp we used in years past. I couldn't agree with them more. It's now been about 2 weeks since being at Harrison Ranch and I'm still hearing comments like "Gosh, I wish we were back at the retreat!" Bruce and Vicki were amazing hosts! There were welcome notes and stocked coffee and teas stations in every house (bunk house, main lodge and guest house). Bruce was always available for questions, he got up early in the morning to check the power and turn on the back up generator (if we used up all the solar power), and he saved the day for one of our pregnant chaperones who was in desperate need of some Tums. Vicki called once during the retreat and a few days after to make sure everything was going/went well. Our original number that we gave them was about 50 but that shot up to 75. I was nervous that our group was now too big but Bruce and Vicki were totally cool with it as long as some of us were okay with sleeping in tents. They were SO accommodating. We felt so taken care of. Bruce and Vicki, thank you so much! The property and scenic views are stunning! We used the two fire pits for singing and dancing both nights. We used the old horse corral for team building activities. Spent tons of time on the main lodge's deck: playing games, reading, shooting the breeze, star-gazing, (Website hidden by Airbnb) was the central hang out spot. Our group was in awe of the property and the views. Again, it's not always easy to impress teens but they were definitely impressed. From all the pictures and stories, I've already had several people tell me they plan to book part of the property or the entire Ranch. I've been to many mountain retreats in Colorado and California. Harrison Serenity Ranch is definitely in my top 2 places to relax and be renewed. Only possible downside for some (not me) is the drive up the hill. Dirt road for about 5 miles. I loved it. One parent who drove at night wasn't so much a fan. Conclusion...can't wait to go back!

    Dustin2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had our wedding here in mid-November, and it was the most perfect, most magical experience we've ever had. Vicki, April and Bryan worked so hard to get the property in pristine condition -- and even helped while we set up and packed up! They were so sweet and attentive throughout. Vicki has such a great energy about her and really cares for the land and the people she meets. We rented out the whole property for the event and our guests could not stop talking about the view or how cool the property was. We had 100 guests and many stayed overnight in tents and in the bunk house. We are so happy with our stay here, I wish I could give two 5-star reviews!

  • My friend and I spent four tranquil nights at The Artist's Casita on writing retreat. Deborah's attention to detail in her property is fantastic. The house and freestanding kitchen are cool, funky, and incredibly comfortable. There are so many lovely amenities: hot tub, great bbq, sun loungers, outdoor shower, lovely indoor shower, and large flat screen TV. You feel as if you are miles from the city-- coyotes, lizards, birds, rabbits, squirrels and horses! But with all the comforts of home.

  • Perfect weekend getaway! Relaxing, quiet, and welcoming. We came up from San Diego, and just needed a couple of days to decompress...the Casita was exactly what we were looking for. So nice to be able to bring our dogs, and not have to worry about anything. It was hard to leave and we would definitely go back.

  • We absolutely fell in love with the Adobe! if you want seclusion and peace and quiet this is your destination! We had everything we needed (except maybe a little bit bigger refrigerator). I'm a big cook, so we did bring an extra cooler since it does state small fridge. We love we were able to bring our fur baby and the place is completely enclosed, especially for a small dog. We loved the area so much we contemplate making this our retirement area!! Thanks Deb and Gregg for having such a wonderful place to share! Cheers!!

  • Deborah’s place is full of charm and offers a nice getaway from the craziness of daily life! Staying in this casita is a outdoorsy treat that is secluded enough to make removed from society but also a quick drive right back to it. Loved the stay!

  • If you’re looking for a unique getaway that’s secluded and near nature this is the place! I loved it! It’s a quirky, art-filled place with a comfortable bed, little kitchenette, and hot tub. Other than a lovely golden dog that visited us in the morning we were undisturbed. Perfect location if you are looking to visit Hellhole Canyon or any of the surrounding trails.

  • I'm so grateful for what Vicki and other ladies' did to provide our group with such an unforgettable experience. They are so welcoming and thoughtful. Since we are a big group of more than 50 people, Vicki prepared a large amount of delicious food for us stored in the refrigerator. In addition, due to the bad weather, some of our cars was stuck in the mud on their way to the ranch and Vicki drove her van to help pick up some of our people. Millions of thanks for her. The view is amazing at the top of the mountains. The services are even more amazing. Vicki and other ladies are so nice. If you are looking for a fabulous stay or some great place for an event, please don't hesitate to choose Harrison ranch.

  • My husband and I had our wedding at Harrison Serenity Ranch at the end of September and loved everything about the location. Vicki, the owner, was extremely accommodating and let us come up up to the ranch numerous times to finalize details. The day before and day of the wedding Vicki and her staff helped prepare the venue, set up tables, chairs, etc. Additionally, my husband and I stayed at the guest cabin and loved our experience: rustic, quiet, peaceful, clean and the perfect way to spend the nights before and after our wedding. We can't recommend the ranch enough!
