  • Shahanna was an exceptional host. The room was so cozy, it felt like home. Shahanna was very communicative and hospital. 10/10!!!!

  • Shahanna's place is in a secluded small but quaint cabinish type house, with very few neighbors. It was very quiet area. I had the pleasure if meeting Shahanna but for a couple minutes. As she was leaving, and well was a little behind schedule. My bad. When I got back to the room after a fun day in Warner, visiting the Indian Museum, and visiting family. I relaxed in my room for little bit and had very nice sleep. Shahanna had has WIFI, had a binder with local Eats and things to do, good soft towels and a good shower. Will definitely keep Shahanna's place in mind for further visits.

  • Very quiet private location. Shahanna was very responsive and helpful with every aspect of the stay

    Matthew2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Shahanna was a wonderful host and the room she provided was more than enough for what we needed for our quick trip for a wedding at Sunapee Lodge. The room was clean and cozy and we really enjoyed the whole feel of the home!

    Alexandra2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Room was very clean. I didn't have much chance to interact with host as I was out most of the time. But everything looked clean and comfortable

    Venkatesh2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lot of fun! The room was nice, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The fire pit was so relaxing and she let us use her supplies and even put it out for us. It was nice to have a full kitchen to make our meals. She provided plenty of helpful tips about the area. So many delicious restaurants, fun farms, and trails to explore. Complete fall fantasy.

  • For a traveler looking to not spend too much money on accommodations, Shahanna’s place is a great choice. My granddaughter was quite happy to end the day and wake up there. Shahanna is a very friendly and down to earth host.

This cozy room features a comfortable twin bed. Our home is safe and easy going; making it the perfect place to rest during your trip. It is a large house with all common areas shared (kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc) I live here with a roommate and we have another listing on Air B and B so you might even make a friend!
This house is an old log cabin with an addition built on the back. The cabin features ceilings that are 30ft high, a fire place, comfortable dining area and full bathroom. The addition has more of a colonial feel and it’s where the living room (tv area) and your room is.
This is a very private road. You can only see one neighbor from our house!
  • Good value, host is very good, room is basic, overall property is in fair condition.

  • The 1790s house is located on a rural farm. Patti met me after arriving and showed me around. The room had a lot of character and was quite compfy. A great place to relax. Several restaurants are nearby and Manchester is just a hop, skip ,and jump away. Patti made me feel right at home.

  • Absolutely fantastic hosts and very unique historic place. The farm is very old and charming. I've never stayed in a place like this before, but glad I did. Easy parking, comfortable bed, quiet at night, antique furniture. Hosts gave us a great tips on how to continue our journey across New England and overall were very hospitable. Oh and the cat was super cute and adorable (6 stars out of 5). Highly recommended!

Private second floor apartment with two bedrooms in an 1850s farmhouse. Recently renovated & separate from the rest of the house where our family lives. Separate entrance & off-street parking. Walk on sidewalks to Henniker village & New England College. Short drives to area attractions: Pat's Peak Ski Area (5 min), Mount Sunapee (26 min), Concord (30 min). We are excited to start hosting, and please ask if you have any questions!
We are working on renewing and updating the house and yard. In warm weather especially guests are welcome to share our yard. (Check back for updated pictures in the spring.)
We are about a half mile west from Henniker village. We have a couple of pizza shops and other restaurants. A cafe is also open most days of the week until about 2 PM. Henniker Pharmacy is a great place to visit for both medical items as well as essentials and local products. Other stores just outside of the downtown: Ace Hardware, Harvester Market (groceries) and Henniker Farm & Country Store. Our section of The Oaks is one-way: if you are coming from town, The Oaks veers off to the right at a triangular commons that has a sign for The Colby Hill Inn. Our driveway comes up quickly after you turn onto The Oaks (2nd driveway on the right).
  • Recomend this location in a heart beat especially for anyone that wants a fair price and easy travel to NEC. The hosts were nice and very inviting. The apartment had all we needed for our stay and anything.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Rick and Patti's Breakwind Farm! The 1790's Farmhouse was the perfect retreat and starting point for us to discover New Hampshire and Vermont during our one week of vacation. The Farmhouse is in a rural and peaceful setting, within a walking distance to a covered bridge, park, lake, playground, picnic and swimming place. For us it also was perfectly located in the middle of all the attractions we wanted to visit in VT and NH. Patti and Rick are very easy to work with. They are super nice, kind, accommodating and lovely hosts. Patti always responded quickly to our messages. Although we arrived 3 1/2 hours later than anticipated Patti made it very easy for us to arrive, the check-in was a breeze, which removed any traveling stress. The farm and our blue room was comfortable and specious, cute, clean and cozy. A very nice touch were the comfortable bathrobes and flip-flops, as well as a basket with diverse toiletries, bottled water and snacks in our room. Every morning there were different teas, coffee, breads, jams and more to choose from in the farm house kitchen. We even could use the fridge to store our own food items. In the backyard there's also a relaxing hot tub that you can enjoy while watching the stars. Rick and Patti were amazing hosts, kind, accommodating, open and informative. They made us feel at home and welcomed. And if you're lucky, you might also get to meet some Workaways, young friendly people which make the house even more welcoming and vibrant! We really enjoyed our interesting morning conversations over breakfast with Rick and Patti, as well as with the Workaways, which came from all over the world. The only regret we have is not trying the Rick and Patti's homemade Breakwind Farm Beans. We really enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse. Thank you Rick & Patti for opening your house and for all the wonderful conversations!

  • Perfect place for a night on the way to Montreal. Patti and his wife are super nice hosts offering a very comfortable bedroom. We enjoyed our stay a lot!!

    Jonas2014-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mom and I were pleased to stay with Patti & Rick in their old farmhouse. This is nothing fancy, it is a well lived-in home, with good, kind, hard-working folks who are interesting and willing to share space with guests. We liked this. The guest room is spacious and we found it just right to meet our needs over the two nights we stayed. Hosts were accommodating and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed the wood stove in the kitchen and chatting with the hosts. Location was convenient just off the highway. We would stay again.

  • Our flight was so delayed that we were not able to get to the house until after 12am. Patti and Rick left the lights on for us with a note on the door welcoming us. They had water and snacks in our room. Very much appreciated. To our suprise there was also breakfast in the morning. The place is exactly as described. Wish we could have spent more time at the farm. Thank you very much.

  • Enjoyed our stay here! My girlfriend and I came up from Boston for a quick getaway. Patti was very friendly - when we asked for dinner recommendations, she even called one of the restaurants to see if they would still be open. The room was clean, comfortable, and a great value. It's a charming old farmhouse, and we were able to explore their property a bit too. Would highly recommend.

  • Walters place is very nice and stylish and extremely comfy and was much much better than I expected. Walter left very thoughtful things and even left cookies 🍪 by my bed for when I came home. I would recommend Walter and his place to anyone. My son and his girlfriend really enjoyed themselves and we even saw animals running in the yard in the morning

Curious about Tiny Home living? This is the place to start! Our brand new tiny home was just built and delivered to Breakwind Farm by Evergreen Tiny Homes of Orono ME, a Premier, custom tiny home builder. Come check it out at a reduced rate before we finish installing solar electric and hot water. See the pics and please check the accommodations before booking. We look forward to meeting you!
The Tiny house has enough electricity for lights and cell phone charging. There is cold running water in the home right now and the propane stove and oven work. We also have an outhouse with a composting toilet behind the home for your use, and you are welcome to the farmhouse (300 feet away) for regular bathroom and hot showers. The queen size bed is located in the loft via a ladder, please make sure you are physically capable of climbing up and down the ladder, especially at night. The loft is small, we can sit up, but anyone over 5' 8" may not be able to. You can sit comfortably in the screened in porch or step outside to the patio and enjoy the warmth of the propane fire pit as you relax to the sounds of crickets and peepers. There is also and outdoor grill and picnic table provided. Also at Breakwind Farm: Charming 229 year old farm house in rural New Hampshire yet within 15 minutes to Concord, the capital. The Contoocook River runs along our property where you can swim, paddleboard, kayak or canoe during the day and then take advantage of our very large fire pit on these cool nights - located near the farm house. We're also down the street from Elm Brook Park with walking trails, swwimming and more kayaking and paddling possibilities. Mount Kearsarge and Sunapee are less than 30 minutes away for hiking. We have a small vegetable garden in the back of the farmhouse, and our front we have a small farm stand - Feel free to stop by. Come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the country life for a few days or weeks. You will feel refreshed and renewed and won't be disappointed ...like us, you'll probably never want to go back.
Our neighborhood is rural but 1.5 miles from Route 89 and 12 miles from rt 93 and Concord. PLEASE NOTE: Traffic from 89, exit 5 is being diverted to exit 6 while the highway department is repairing that exit. Therefore there is quite a bit more traffic than usual on our rural street.
  • I highly recommend Patti's place. Patti and Mike are great hosts. They were very friendly, polite and made sure the stay was comfortable and convenient as possible. If you are looking for a different experience rather than staying at a hotel or a private room, this is the one. The tiny trailer cottage in the woods, the fireplace and farmland on the other side make this countryside stay truly an experience. Patti was also very helpful giving information on the best places to eat around and was very quick to respond with any questions. I would definitely come again!

  • The little house is so lovely!

    Gus2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The actual tiny home itself is great. The woodwork is gorgeous, and it's a truly beautiful little getaway. Patti supplied us with kayaks, life jackets, and a dry bag; and we walked about a minute to get right onto the river. We paddled for five hours and still didn't see all of it! There was quick breakfast laid out for us, and we had access to the main house at any time. A perfect place to go for a few days or a week, alone or with a partner. They were incredibly accommodating and were some of the nicest hosts I've met on Airbnb so far. The shops in town are incredible, and the restaurants are great even though they close early on weekdays.

  • It was our first time staying at a tiny house and we truly enjoyed it! The tiny house was really cute, clean, and quiet. If you are thinking about trying out tiny house living, this is a great way to try what it is like. Patti and Rick made sure that we had everything we needed. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!

    Roxelane2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Despite there were some minor hiccups with check in due to the previous renters not following the rules. Patti and Rick was really great hosts! They made their farm home available to us and shared their story. Since this was a local getaway for us- getting to know them and their story really elevated our experience. I would recommend their tiny home, even for local New Englanders. It felt like we had been taken to another secluded world of peace and quiet. We were able to use their kayaks and go on the river only feet away from the tiny home. The tiny home had all the amenities needed for your stay including towels, soap, dishes, etc.

    Genevieve2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and very clean! Great place for a relaxing, cozy get away ! Patti and Rick are awesome!

    Tammy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice week-end at the Tiny House!! Patti is a great host and makes sure you have everything you need. We loved the location, close to State Parks and to a very nice hike to the summit of Rollins State Park. There are some cute towns around, like Contookcook, and Warner. Concord and Manchester are not far either. The Tiny House was very clean, and private. I loved cooking in it. We had access to the main house for the community room and bathrooms. It was a great experience staying in a tiny house living space. We hope to do this again!

Need an overnight spot to park your RV/trailer but camp sites are just too expensive & Walmart too public? We have the perfect solution: BREAKWIND FARM! Enjoy the outdoors during your stay in a secluded country setting, close to the river & a minute's walk to the farmhouse with all the amenities (see below). Rest your road-weary bodies and relax in the river or at Elm Brook Park up the street. We're less than 3 mins to Rt. 89 and 12 minutes - Rt. 93. See other listings for rooms & camper here!
Breakwind Farm is 227 year old 6 acre property located in a quaint and rural community just outside of Concord NH. The amenities in the Farmhouse include: A full kitchen, bathroom and shower, wireless internet with charging stations in our beautiful 3 season room with a gas fireplace and TV with Amazon and Netflix, and a collection of board games. In the summer months we have a small organic herb and vegetable garden and sell our produce at our stand out front. Our property runs along the Contoocook River where you can swim and explore by canoe, paddleboard or kayak in the summer. We are also within walking distance to Elm Brook Park with walking trails, swimming, picnic and recreational facilities. For hiking, scenic vistas, and auto roads, Pat's Peak is a 10 minute drive, Mount Kearsage State Park is 20 minutes north, and Mount Sunapee, less than 30 minutes. If you like the adventure of mountain biking, dirt biking or ATV riding, bring your vehicles because we have 2 parks located near us; Clough State Park in Weare, NH, and the Hopkinton-Everett Recreation park down the street. Love golf? Duston Country Club golf club is a ten minute drive. Our town may be rural but the capital of New Hampshire, Concord, is just 15 minutes away where you have access to shopping, restaurants and cultural events. The White Mountains, Boston and seacoast are also within 1- 1 1/2 hours by car or bus. As you can see there is no shortage of activities in the area, however if you would just like to sit and watch the garden grow, please feel free to enjoy the solitude, or we would always welcome help with gardening and picking vegetables if you are so inclined. In the evening, relax by the fire pit and enjoy the sound of the peepers and crackling fire, (based on the weather, please ask me or Rick to start the fire first). Come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and traffic and enjoy the country life for a few days or a week. You will feel refreshed and renewed and won't be disappointed ...like us, you'll probably never want to go back!
Peaceful, rural setting, near the river and down the street from Elm Brook Park. We are also located on Route 127 which does have some commuter traffic weekday mornings.
  • Patti and Rick are gracious hosts. They made sure I had everything I needed. The place is quiet and relaxing. The cat Trixie and dog Layla are very friendly and the three free ranging chickens visited every day. There is a good place to cool off in the river that has a spring pouring into it. I would definitely book there again.

  • Our stay with Patti & Rick was perfect! We rented space to park our van for the night, after a wedding in Concord. We arrived early in the day to meet the hosts who were more than accommodating and happy to show us around the property, even taking the time to walk us down to the beautiful river side. They have a peaceful and serene place, especially at sunrise. The kitties joined us for our morning coffee, which just sweetened the experience. There were other campers renting the trailer at the wood line, we wouldn’t have even known were there had they not passed by to say hello. As we headed off to other adventures we wished that we had allowed more time to stay and enjoy the area and we definitely recommend checking this place out!

    Dawn2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • First, it is a great getaway from all the hectic lifestyle drag at the city; second the place is real cozy and homely; third, the entire place has been kept spic n span; and fourth, i loved spending my time out here with the most hospitable host I know. Above all I am definitely gonna miss Patti's yummy treats.

    Saba2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend your stay whether it is in the camper, the rooms in the farmhouse, the tiny house set back in the woods or just camping out. They have a lot of options (if a booking is available). Patti and Rick are super accommodating and go out of their way to make you comfortable. They are there when you need them and also respect your privacy if that's what you are looking for. The farmhouse is very charming and any flaws (if even hardly noticeable) only adds to its character. All of the lodging spaces are super clean as well and charming as well. I have been camping out on the property for over a week and have had everything I need and more. They went out of their way to make sure. They made 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a cozy 3-season porch (with games and puzzles galore, internet TV, and electricity to charge all my gadgets) accessible to me. I had fresh towels, washcloths, linens. I also got to enjoy complimentary fresh free-range eggs provided by the lovely hens, fluff and Nugget. They offered tea, coffee, toast and jam as well as fresh garden veggies. The only challenge I faced was a night of thunderstorms where I was able to seek refuge in the 3-season porch. Rick and Patti set me up to make sure I was cozy and had everything I needed. I was even able to do a partial bartering for my stay. I loved swimming in the river and depending on where you stay and availability you may have access to the kayaks. The walk to the river through the woods is only about 500ft from the house. It's a little muddy at the shoreline but not bad at all. The large firepit for a nightly gathering was a nice touch and fun to interact with others. The cat and dogs on the property are very sweet and friendly. So are the bugs, so make sure you bring bug spray (if not, Patti and rick have you covered)! lol. Overall, it's a very peaceful and relaxing getaway. Enjoy the chirping crickets!

  • Patti and Rick were very lovely hosts and worked with me on a last minute booking. They were super responsive and helped me book properly since I was having trouble with the app. When we were unexpectedly one man short for one night they promptly refunded with no need for me to ask. Checking in with them was like coming in to a family members home to stay, warm and welcoming. It poured out the first couple of nights we were there and the camper was very cozy. everything you need is there. highly recommended.

    Kristi2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Was truly a better experience than i could’ve hoped for. As it was only a very quick stay, patti made the conscious effort to make sure I felt welcomed and was there for a reason. Very personable, and willing to go the extra way to make sure I was comfortable and in good hands! Perfect for car campers and all others looking for a quaint place to stay

We are 25 miles north of Concord, about 90 miles from Boston. We offer a room with a queen-sized bed, private bath and kitchenette overlooking Kearsage Mountain. Wireless Internet is available. There's a hot tub on the deck.
There is a very nice view of Kearsage Mountain and the Minks from the dining room window. We are also right on the trail, if you'd like to bring your own snowmobile. There are also good places to walk and hike right out the front door. We're 26 minutes (8.4 miles) from Pat's Peak, and 30 minutes (14.7 miles) from Mount Sunapee Resort.
We are a couple of miles away from the historic town center meetinghouse. During the summer there are events most every weekend. The neighbors (don't have many) are quiet and friendly.
  • The Rowe Mountain Retreat is a great place to get away from it all. It is quiet, private, clean, and a great example of a rural New Hampshire home.

  • Barb has an amazing place on the mountain. Lovely breakfast. Congenial host. Read Barb's directions carefully, your sat Nav (GPS) may send you the wrong way!

    Brian2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and Doug are the perfect hosts! We could only stay one night, but they felt like friends by the time we left. They were very accommodating around our late arrival. The room and bath are spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable and they've given attention to all the details. I loved having fresh lemon water, tea and coffee makings in the sitting room just outside our room. The breakfast was delicious and bountiful. I liked being able to choose between a few menu options and also what time we wanted to eat. I'm gluten-and diary free so it was refreshing to have food at a B & B that I could eat. Barb even shared some of her recipes with me. We ate outside on the back deck and enjoyed the mountain views. Since it was my birthday, we treated ourselves to the couples massage instruction which was fabulous! This will be a gift that keeps on giving. I would highly recommend staying here and taking advantage of the massage training. We'll be back, for sure! Next time I'll bring my yoga mat for some peaceful deck yoga with mountain views.

  • Barbara was such a wonderful host. She is kind, empathetic, and incredibly hospitable. I was getting over a cold and Tyler spent Sunday experiencing a hangover and she was very understanding and helpful to both situations. She respected our space as introverts which I assume she figured out as she has a great attention for details and needs. Her cooking is absolutely wonderful, those were the most delicious blueberry pancakes I have ever had! Her home is absolutely beautiful. The photos on AirBnB do not give it justice. Her space just got bigger and more beautiful throughout the tour. We woke up to beauty and fell asleep in peace at the quietest space I have ever been in. She always had a fire going, knowing specifically that I love fire places because of my unfamiliarity of the Northeast. Tyler fell in love with her hot tub, it was a treat with different speeds and colorful lights! Two of my dear dear friends joined the two of us (and they were totally welcomed by Barb, it was so sweet!) and we stayed up talking in the hot tub for hours. Barb was an excellent host. Tyler and I plan to be back. Thank you Barb!

    Nishelli2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I was only there for a short stay but it was a MOST pleasant house and Barbara couldn't have been more welcoming. The view was beautiful and the hot tub was great...I went in 3 times! I would recommend this to anyone. I can't really think of anything that was lacking.

    Janna2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Truly enjoyed our experience at the Roe Mountain Retreat! Beautiful surroundings, idyllic home and gust room, perfectly clean bathroom, and our hosts were the most friendly people that just made us feel right at home the moment we arrived. We dined on fresh cod, asparagus, and the breakfast was just as awesome with fresh fruit salad, homemade muffins and orang juice. The view is spectacular. We will definitely plan on staying another night in the near future. Thank you Doug & Barbara!!!

    Jean2016-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • It would be difficult to find people more kind and friendly than Barbara and Doug. From the minute we got to their home, they treated us like old friends. For a weekend away from the city, this was the perfect place to be. Their home is incredible - high ceilings, multiple fireplaces, exposed beams and hardwood everywhere - but above all, their home was comfortable. We enjoyed playing cards by the wood stove and relaxing in the hot tub while watching the snow fall. By morning, that snowfall had turned into over a foot, which Doug cleared for us so we could go skiing at Sunapee (20min away) the next day - what a guy! The bedroom was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. From blueberry oatmeal to rosemary potatoes and a different fresh muffin for each day, Barbara is a creative and talented cook. She prepares delicious meals that can cater to any dietary restriction - if you are gluten-free/vegetarian/pescetarian, put this home at the top of your list! We can't thank Barbara and Doug enough for their hospitality. Dave and I highly recommend staying at the Rowe Mountain Retreat; we certainly will again.

  • There are not enough words to describe our one night stay at Rowe Mountain Retreat. My wife and I fell in love with this magical and beautiful place. Barbara and her husband were so nice and helpful. The jacuzzi was to die for we enjoyed seeing the stars and having a couple of drinks outside. The room was clean and perfect. Barbara offered us robes and slippers to feel comfy and the breakfast with blueberry pancake was delicious. You definitely want to stay here. We will definitely go back some day.

  • Amazing place to stay. The photos don't do it justice. Kevin was a wonderful host. If you like historic houses, a running river and beautiful surrounds this is the place to stay. Within walking distance of pretty much everything.

  • Great place to stay...

    Randell2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a good location and it was clean. However, the kitchen was not stocked for cooking or even eating cereal or warming up pizza in the oven. We chose this place because we wanted to make a hot breakfast. The staircase for Senior citizens is daunting . It is very steep with narrow steps.

    Dianne2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you choose to stay at Kevin’s place, you will not be disappointed! The place is a hidden gem. So soothing to you soul to hear the water in the River. We opened the windows, turned off the lights, sat and listened to Mother Nature at her best. So peaceful!

    Jennifer2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We were originally supposed to visit the farm in January, but an epic storm decided to visit instead. Ed was great about rescheduling. Our family was hit by a stomach bug the second time we were scheduled to visit. Ed was very kind, understanding and accommodating about everything. I am so sad weren’t able to get to the farm and hope we can go in the future! Thanks Ed!

    Erin2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best Airbnb we have stayed. The hosts were so sweet. They made us a fantastic dinner. The dessert was so good. I loved there horses and chickens. Very quiet and serene. Great trails too.

    Sandra2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT place. Can't beat the views out every window. Ed's attention to detail make this space feel welcoming and homey. I definitely recommend!

  • We had a wonderful time staying on Cindy & Ed's farm while enjoying some local skiing at Mt. Sunapee. The apartment was great, the views were beautiful, and Cindy and Ed were friendly and insightful. We were even able to walk around and meet some of the animals, including their beautiful dogs Charlotte and Bond!

    Timothy2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Spectacular spot. Beautiful view, very spacious and comfortable accommodations, well equipped and tasteful furnishings. Friendly flock of livestock and gracious hosts. I highly recommend this place. The only thing I suggest is to double check the directions with the hosts, since my GPS got me lost initially.

    Martine2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ed & Cindy’s place is AMAZING, you will not regret booking it!! When we walked in the space was so warm and cozy we fell in love immediately. The bed was super soft and comfy. We loved being able to disconnect from the city while we were there and just relax. There’s no tv or anything so it’s the perfect space to just wind down with a book or enjoy a bottle of wine. I’d recommend bringing some cards or a game if you are people who want to do something while there. In the morning we ended up getting a tour of the farm and talking to Ed and Cindy for 2 hours before we left, they are such friendly and enjoyable people we will definitely be back! We also got a bunch of their grass fed beef and some bacon from their farm that we are so excited to try! Thank you for everything!!

    Jaci2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Cindy and Ed was or best Airbnb experience yet. The pictures do not do their lovely lifestyle justice. Everything went smoothly in terms of communication for arrival and we were especially happy we chose to order the dinner for two - it was amazing! I would highly recommend this place for anyone that is looking for some fresh air and an unparalleled look into the small farm black angus industry!

Here is an email we received from a previous guest... "Our time at the pond was heavenly and provided a rest that we all really needed. • Linda’s place is absolutely stunning! My husband and I got married at Pats Peak and we booked this spot for the parents to stay. They absolutely loved it and it was a great peaceful location for them to stay at while they waited for the days festivities to begin at pats peak. Linda was very accommodating and was easy to communicate with as well. We highly recommend!! Thanks again Linda!!!

  • This house is gorgeous, we all loved staying in it and looking out at the lake and snow. The whole house is kept very clean and stocked with dishes and blankets. We also loved the games that were kept in the house, and the guestbook. We are thinking of coming back in the summer and experiencing the lake and town too!

  • If what you want is a peaceful stay in a lovely location, Linda’s

    Gretchen2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We definitely enjoyed the serenity and beauty of Linda's cottage. She was not there but gave clear directions as to how to get to the cottage. Some of the interiors have been recently updated and the two bedrooms facing the pond are definitely cozy and comfortable. The third has a bunk bed and is a bit dark - we didn't need it anyway. We tried using the paddleboat but the rudder was missing, so we ended up using the row-boat - some of the oars were broken or missing. The charm of the location can't be overstated - one can simply sit on the deck and gaze at the many faces of the pond over the course of the day. The nearby town of Henniker is charming and we rode our bikes on e beautiful route along the river. A lovely time was had - some upkeep notes would keep this cottage in tip-top shape.

  • We had an AMAZING time at Linda's cottage by French Pond. Linda was very easy to get in touch with for any questions prior to our trip. The house was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, clean, and well-equipped for all our vacation needs. The master bed and twin beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparation. The views of the pond were breathtaking. The kayak and canoe were in perfect condition and were a blast to take out on the pond. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Ellen2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible home. Perfect for a quiet weekend away. The views from the house onto the pond are gorgeous. We would absolutely go back for another trip! French Pond will always hold a special place in our hearts, we even got engaged on the dock!❤️

  • Linda's cabin is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway without being too far from Boston. Great house, very clean, pond-front with a canoe and kayak, amazing view. Brought my family with 3 small children and they absolutely did not want to leave. Even took a canoe ride across the pond to go apple picking!

    Michael2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, the view is amazing, lots of space. Lots of board games, my kids had a blast playing them. It was a nice break from all the technology. We went to pats peak to ski. It was so close to the cabin. Would love to spend time there in the summer, looks like a lot of fun!!!

  • Micheal and his wife Mitchelle are very nice people with a wonderful campsite me and my family were more then satisfied with our stay we had a great time to fishing canoeing and swimming and enjoying the fitpits very generous people and cant wait to come back next year 😊

  • The access to the water is great, we enjoyed swimming, paddle boarding, and relaxing with a book on the river. For people without a lot of camping experience, Michael provides most of things you need to enjoy the outdoors in relative comfort. The tent silo was a bit hard for our dog to manage, but once we were settled, it was quite comfortable! Overall, a great place to beat the heat (and the crowds) for the weekend

    Evan2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time camping on the Tooky! The fishing was great and the campsite had everything you could hope for. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an outdoors adventure!

  • Great place, had it all to ourselves! Very private location right on the river. Definitely going back

  • What a great time we had! The work they’ve put into the campground is very impressive and we really enjoyed having a bathroom, shower, kitchen and generator! Thanks again for the great memories, best of luck with the rest of the cabin and campground and we will see you soon!

  • Our stay was amazing! The tent was very comfortable and easy to get into, the kitchen area has everything you could possibly need, the bathroom/shower were very clean + completely functional and the river is absolutely beautiful!! Thanks Michael and Michelle!

If you like the outdoors, swimming, canoeing or kayaking come spend a few days at Sweetwater. We provide you a tent that we set up on one of our many sites. You will enjoy direct access to 1000 ft of river frontage. Local ordinances require that we provide the sleeping quarters, therefore, guests are not allowed to set up their own tents.
You will be staying in a tree tent called a tent silo. The silos are suspended in air and are extremely comfortable. Our property is on the historical register as the site of the 1st physician in Henniker. The farm is called Sweetwater and sits on 40 acres, with a 1/4 mile of frontage on the Tooky river. You can swim fish or kayak from our sandbar. Come relax and enjoy the outdoors at Sweetwater.

Yankee Barn home on 7 acres: four bedrooms, two sleeping lofts, 2 full baths, 2 half baths, eat-in kitchen, fire place, screened-in porch and finished, walk-out basement. 10 mins. to Pat's Peak, 30 mins. to Sunapee. Ideal space for gatherings of families and friends during all four of New England's seasons.
The house is in a private neighborhood with houses on a minimum of five acre lots.
  • Stephen's house is incredible. Our group actually found the house to be more beautiful than the photographs. The house is in a private location with a huge lawn and a fire pit. We were a group of 12 and didn't have to worry about noise or neighbors. The outdoor area is lovely, we spent all night sitting around the bonfire. Stephen was a gracious host, easy to contact when we had a small issue, and effective with his response. I, and everyone in our group, would love to come back again in the future.

  • Stephen and Susan were great hosts and created the perfect space for our wedding weekend. Jeffand I got married down the road and had many family and friends in and out and the house, which provided beauty, space, and relaxation for them all. The home and property are more lovely than the pictures show. Highly recommend.

  • Stephen’s house is absolutely stunning!!! It is in a great private location, with a beautiful yard, within 10 minutes of Pats Peak. The house is very unique and is truly a wonderful place to stay. Stephen was great and easy to connect with regarding our stay. We had a wedding a pats peak and some of our groomsmen stayed at the house and they loved it! I stayed there the night of the wedding and waking up at such a peaceful location with such a beautiful yard was a great way to end the weekend. We honestly cannot thank Stephen enough for allowing us to utilize his house for our special weekend and making it even better with his great accommodations and quick response time to messages We highly recommend!! Thanks again, Stephen!!!

  • The pictures don't do this home justice - it was very spacious with many unique rooms and features. There is no ac but it cools down well in the evening. The land around the home was also beautiful. We loved the screened in porch to hang out at night. Great place!!!

    Kathleen2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Stephen's home. The house and property are beautiful. Our kids enjoyed catching frogs in the pond, making s'mores in the fire pit, running around the large yard, and visiting a local lake and farm. Thanks so much to Stephen for inviting us to pick veggies from the garden and apples from the orchard--getting to eat fresh salads and swiss chard helped make it a really special experience.

  • Great big yard and fire pit. House was great!

Henniker Heights has been described by guests as eclectic yet relaxed and a place guests have made return trips. A great escape into solitude, quiet and comfortable space both inside and out. Once you visit Henniker, the only one on earth, you will begin planning your return visits.
The home is chalet with cathedral ceiling that has loft over looking the living and kitchen spaces with Vermont Castings/glass front wood stove for warmth or simply ambiance. Many have enjoyed the bar/wine room at the lower level with access to shaded patio and mountain view.
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. A farm rests just up the hill where you may hear cows. Walk to town is less than a mile and along the Contocook River. Local New England College, covered bridge and "Norman Rockwell Feel" has Henniker a place you will look forward to returning to again and again.
  • Gerald’s place is a perfect spot for friends or families who want to enjoy the local skiing, relax and get away or explore the fun area around Henniker. The house is spacious, very much a home and has all the amenities you need. We enjoyed our stay over New Years with friends including a day of skiing. Highly recommended!

    Brad2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gerald was a fantastic host and the place was wonderful! There are plenty of fun places to check out nearby as well. Will definitely be making trips up to Henniker in the future!

  • The house is very spacious and scenic (great view of Pats Peak slopes!). The kitchen is well stocked for those who plan to cook. Overall a comfortable and convenient space for our group of 11 adults and one toddler who were looking to ski/snowboard at Pats Peak! Easy check-in and check-out and great communication throughout the trip.

    Phi2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how cozy the house was and how close it was to Pats Peak

    Kristy2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Gerald’s place! We had three couples and a few kids and there was plenty of room to spare. The deck provides a great hangout spot and the basement is awesome- (although we hardly left the deck). Close to town, the grocery store and Dudley pond as well as some other scenic spots. Gerald was very responsive and i was able to reach out to him several times throughout the trip and have an instant response. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back for the ski season as well!

    Pamela2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect spot if you are interested in an extended stay in the scenic Northeast! It was comfortable, and our host was very accommodating to our whole family who needed a place to stay for a wedding nearby. Very comfortable, and scenic to boot!

Great Opportunity to enjoy peace and quiet in a private waterfront cottage-fireplace on your own sandy beach. The shallow to deep water is perfect for both young and old alike. There are 5 Kayaks and aluminum row boat for your enjoyment. During summer months, rental is for full weeks only from Friday-Friday. The remainder of the year, weekend rentals are welcome. Discounts in rate are given for longer stays.
If you are looking to truly get away, this is the place. Here is where you connect with family & friends in the open living, kitchen & dining areas. Swim or relax fire side on your own private beach.
Peace & quiet, yet only 20 mins to all of what Concord, NH has to offer, as well as the Mt. Sunapee area recreation. You will pass a buffalo farm, horse farms as well as picturesque mountain vistas on your 5 mile ride to the cottage from the quaint village of Warner.
  • Audrey's cabin on the pond was a great place to get some rest and relaxation time in! The 6 of us had plenty of room to spread out, cook up some great meals, and float around on the water. I would highly recommend this spot for people who are looking to be "remote" without being stripped of the basic amenities. It's a place to disconnect from the rest of the world, unplug from the internet, and enjoy what nature has to offer.

  • Beautiful view of the lake. Was up in New Hampshire for hiking so didn't get to spend much time in the house which was a shame. It had a very quiet and relaxing feel, there was plenty of space. Would love to come back next time I'm up there!

  • Audrey's cottage was perfect for a ski weekend. It has a beautiful view over the lake and there are a number of ski areas about 30 min away. It was the right size for a group of 7. Everything we needed was there. The kitchen was great to make a nice dinner after a long day of skiing.

    Joost2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend this property to a family or 2 sharing families. I feel like the house was bigger than we expected and ample places to sleep. The dish washer and washer and drier were a luxury!! My sister and I and our children had a wonderful time with perfect weather. We had ice cream at 3 local places, hiked the mountain right up the road and were forced to relax and float on the pond. We LOVED the Kayaks!! The kids must of paddled miles! Tins of memories were made!! 😊

  • My fiance and I brought our children here for labor day weekend. The home was spacious and very comfortable. Audrey has thought of everything. All we needed to bring was our clothes and food. We really enjoyed kayaking and swimming in the lake. The fire pit at night was very relaxing. Communication with the host and the check in process was very easy. We will definitely be back next year.

Daydream on a private three-season porch or get some antique sleep on a converted rope bed in a 1765 post-and-beam farmlette. Room and home are full of vintage and antique items, though with all modern comforts and style.
Dubbed the "Jeremiah and Mary Woodwell Fowler House," ours is a plaque historic home. It is known that Mary (then Woodwell) was captured by indians down the road when the garrison door was left open and taken to Canada. There she was the property of a squaw who would not sell her unless she was ransomed by her weight in silver. Her father tried in vain to raise the money and finally convinced a doctor to help him, or was able to visit privately with Mary and conspired with her for her to feign sick. Her value was decreased by the squaw, and Mary was ransomed by the town (through her father's fundraising efforts). The house maintains original floorboards and many of the original beams and structures. Doors have been kept where possible, or borrowed from local antique homes.
Boutique shopping, farm-to-table restaurants, the world's best ice cream, apple picking, blueberry picking, pumpkin picking, farm animals, kayaking, and hiking are all within walking distance. Skiing, both down hill and cross-country, ice skating on the town lake, swimming at the heavenly, private town pond (with shade!) or at a state reservoir, golfing, and fishing all within 5-10 miles. The state capitol of Concord is within 9 miles.

1770 Antique center chimney colonial, lots of character, located in a remote area with outdoor opportunities for walking including dogs and horses on extensive trail system. Blackwater River isnearby, as are skiing and snowmobiling opportunities. We welcome dogs and horses along with our human guests. Mount Kearsarge, Concord, New London, and Proctor Academy are all near by. We are also close to the Merrimack River and the rail trail.
The house was built in 1770 and has many of its original features, including timber framing and Indian shutters, updated for comfort and durability. It is a tranquil spot and we hope that our guests will come and relax and enjoy. We offer a continental breakfast, always with lots of freshly ground coffee and fresh fruit.
Our neighborhood is rural with only a few homes on the road. We have lovely views of near-by Mount Kearsarge and the porches are nice for relaxing, reading or just enjoying the day.
  • We have stayed in a lot of B&Bs. Some hosts have the knack of welcoming guests and putting them at ease without fawning and Anne is just such a person: warm and helpful. Her place is quaint, tasteful, and well appointed. Our favorite special feature was the hi tech shower. The extra bed in the room made things really comfortable for us to stay with our child. Communication was easy and there were no hiccups. I highly recommend.
