The hospitality was incredible (talk to joe if you get the chance), place was clean, as well as being pretty centralized to campus/downtown/carrsboro. Highly recommend, I will most likely be back!

  • Fantastic, comfortable and clean house. I was there for the cardiology fellowship interview at UNC, only 10 minute-drive, and felt safe. It was a flexible check in as I checked in at 10 pm. Thanks Katie for dropping me at UNC in early morning for my interview day. Would book again.

    Nicholas2018-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Katie’s place was PERFECT for me! I would have loved to stay for longer. What a cool room set-up! The sheets might have been the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable in the room. The check-in was quite seamless and pleasant. The location is tranquil and quiet enough for a relaxing stay, but seemingly close enough to campus / popular Chapel Hill areas to enjoy them as well. I didn’t get to use the laundry, but I appreciated the access. Places like these are what AirBnB is all about! Thanks, Katie!

  • This is my third Airbnb experience and my best one yet! Katie and Josh were exceptional hosts. The neighborhood was quiet and fairly close to campus which was necessary for my commute to work. Not to mention Katie went above and beyond to create an inviting environment for me during my stay. All in all this was my best experience through Airbnb yet!! Thank you again Katie and Josh!

  • Convenient place to stay walking distance to UNC Chapel Hill hospital/campus. This is a singe bedroom with shared bathroom- shared with another AirBnB user- which really was no problem. The property next door had a shared breakfast nook/kitchen. My room was clean with comfortable bed and desk. I received the wrong codes for the breakfast nook, so could not access it the first morning I stayed there. Another guest while I was there had issues with wrong access codes as well, so you may want to verify that the access codes are current before you arrive.

  • Honestly, this was the best place I stayed by now. The room was very clean and very well furnished. It is very close to the main campus and E. Franklin street where you can find all types of food. I was in UNC for a conference and will save the place for my future visits. I am also very pleased with the fact that the room is well designed to do some work.

I was less than a mile from the business school, and I probably could have even walked if I wanted.

  • Marios met me right on time and gave me a walk through the room and the other buildings. Significant upgrades are being made to landscaping and common areas in the main building. The single room/bathroom is Spartan, but...so is the great price. Perfect for solo travelers. Clean, good hot shower. Futon could use a new mattress. I'd come again. Thx, Marios.

    Anas2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Place is exactly as described. All of the essentials are available. Location is literally a 10 minute walk from campus. Worth the price for sure!

    Kyle2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great find! Inexpensive, quiet, and no more than a 10-minute walk to all of the places I needed to be in Chapel Hill. Jamar provided great instructions and Joe was readily available on-site to address any issues. The only drawback is the size of the shower in the bathroom. I am fairly petite and I found it tough to maneuver in it; kept bumping into the walls when I tried to turn around or grab the shampoo. Other than the shower, Tucked Away was a great value for a great location.

  • Vey nice place in good location. Loved the shower . Nice to have coffee or snacks available. But walls are very thin so can hear lots of neighbors noise. Biggest complaint was that I was freezing at night and never heard back from host about possibility of raising the temperature. Wore a coat most of the time indoors especially at night.

  • Great apartment - cosy and comfortable - in a heritage house. Ideally located for visits to UNC-CH and within easy walking distance to the local restaurants. Vibey because of the students living in the surrounding area but still quiet. The communication was efficient and check in seemless. Joe works on the property and was really helpful and friendly.

  • I stayed the studio for a weekend in Chapel Hill to interview at UNC. It was very close to the campus and walking distance to all the local restaurants and bars on Franklin Street. Leaving and arriving was very easy as everything was accessible with door codes instead of keys. The area next door was available for coffee and snacks 24/7 which was also very convenient. Quiet and cozy!

  • Jane’s garden flat was spacious, clean, and in a great central location. There were thoughtful touches like the coffee maker, mini fridge, and toiletries that made the space that much more welcoming. The outdoor part of the flat was lovely, the landscaping created the perfect environment for relaxing. Jane was available if needed, but left us to enjoy the space as uninterrupted as we pleased. We’d love to stay here again!

  • We were upgraded to a better room with a private kitchen and bathroom after our host realized we booked incorrectly (we booked a room for 2 instead of 3). She caught the mistake and was able to set us up nicely! We had a very comfortable stay-- my mom *really* loved the towels. The kitchenette was awesome and really handy, especially since I had to wake up earlier than my family members, and had to eat. The location is also key-- a 10 min walk to Franklin (the main drag) and a 30 second walk to campus. Perfect! We walked everywhere, since it was so accessible.

    Benjamin2019-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Debra and Rod’s place is nestled in the woods yet a 5-minute drive from anything you could need (tasty restaurants, grocery co-op, drug store, etc). So tastefully furnished and with personal touches everywhere, our daughter named their apartment “our special home” for several days. Even the loaner toys and books Debra left us were wonderfully selected. Like others have already mentioned, family/doggy noises travel downstairs into the unit but since we are super noisy ourselves (with 2 kids under age 4), we can’t complain! All noise took place during normal hours, never very early or late.

    Glynis Laing2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Debra’s place. The amenities were great with lots of thoughtful touches such as counter culture coffee, snacks, and a handwritten note. The space itself is beautifully decorated and very fun. Perfect for our party of two. My one note would be that if you are sensitive to noise then keep in mind that this is a basement apartment, and therefore you will be able to hear the family moving around upstairs when they are home. But other than that it’s perfect! Great location, comfortable bed, nice kitchen and bathroom. We would stay here again!

    Emma2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Love the the look and feel of this space! Debra has added so many thoughtful touches that make the space feel cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend it!

    Kassie2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Debra's place was the perfect stopover between long drives and a good location. If I had more time I would have loved to explore the near by college drag. As it was, I watched a bit of the gratis Netflix, got a good nights sleep, had the oatmeal and hot coffee Debra supplied, and hit the road.

    Jessica2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great, clean, space!

    Jeffrey2019-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Debra's place is perfectly clean, stylish (modern, choice furnishing and cool artwork), the bed is amazingly comfortable. I love all the nice details--sound machine in bedroom, great lighting/lamps in practical places, throw blankets, space heaters, night lights, quality soap products. My friend and I LOVED staying here. Also, Debra was super responsive and accommodating.

  • Nice place to call home for a few days. Beautiful neighborhood close to downtown chapel hill. Host left good coffee / tea options. Good TV and internet. Nice mid century design. King size bed was great. Nice outdoor space as well. We were in town visiting family. My wife, 3 year old, 7 month old, and myself made the space work.

  • This is just what I was looking for, which was a basic place really close to campus where I could crash. I would caution that there isn't a lot of noise dampening between rooms, so if you're a light sleeper you might want to consider earplugs, but otherwise I was very happy.

    Sara2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very conveniently located for Chapel Hill and UNC - allows you to walk places. The host very responsive, and allowed me to change to a better room as once I arrived I preferred not to share a bathroom. Breakfast offer might be avoided though.

    Guy2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room is "as advertised." Spacious, comfortable, a shared bathroom, and most importantly, walking distance to UNC, UNC Hospital and Downtown Franklin Street. The only problem was that my host was out of town and did not tell me. I am sure this was inadvertent, but it would have made things a whole lot easier had I been told in advance such things as an access code into the building.

    Aaron2016-04-07T00:00:00Z

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here while in Chapel Hill for homecoming, and it was the perfect spot for the weekend. You can't beat the location, and the room was just as pictured/described. We were looking for a decent room at a good price to function as a place to sleep for the weekend, and this place ended up being much better than we expected! The host was available and seemingly always there to help/adjust the temp in the room if we needed. If looking for a great place to stay in Chapel Hill for a day or two, this is the place!

I'd recommend this place for a very minimalist, value-focused stay.

  • The building was in a great location and staff was nice. But our room was dirty so we were moved. The second room was on the first floor below a group that stayed up half the night scrapping against the wooden floor. As a result we got very little sleep. If we had stayed in the first room that was in a one story wing of the house this would not have been an issue. I am sorry that this did not work out well for us as others seemed to have a better experience.

  • Gianluca's place was adorable and nice for a last minute stay! He was wonderfully communicative. Great host.

  • This apartment is so cozy! It is nestled in a residential area of Chapel Hill yet you feel like you are in a cabin in the woods! The backyard is home to a family of deer who viewed us with little interest. However, we were conveniently located 1.9 miles from the center of town. We will definitely stay here again. The host, his wife and young son were delightful! Coffee, tea, chocolate and excellent WiFi made the stay comfortable too!

    Karen2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Terrific communication which made our stay seamless. The house is in a great location and very close to the university. The apt is clean and roomy. You do hear the kids upstairs , but we were informed ahead of time and it didn't bother our sleeping. The walk way leading down to the basement can be a little dark, but we had a flash light on our phone that worked perfectly for one small dark spot. Would recommend.

    April2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as described! Gianluca is an excellent host and was willing to accommodate us in a any way possible. Would definitely stay again!

    Marc2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place is sparkling clean and all what you can ask for. Internet is fast, open space. I slept in the bedroom once and on the comfortable sofa bed the second night. A stove/burner would’ve been what I was looking for to cook breakfast. I totally recommend this space.

    Anas2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This in-law unit below the main house was very comfy and clean. Extremely conveniently located to UNC. Easy street parking with a parking permit which the host provides. Gianluca and family were very friendly. Left some nice chocolates for us and recommended fun and local places to eat. You will have some noise in the morning from above as the family has young children. Highly recommended!

    Ann2015-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gianluca's place was clean and exactly as described. A short walk to UNC's campus. Very clear communication. Highly recommended.

  • My Daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful property in Chapel Hill. The property was clean and spacious and very welcoming on arrival, following a long journey (and plenty of rain!). And the host Gianluca, was very welcoming too, and very approachable throughout our stay (without being intrusive). Tea, coffee, milk etc and toiletries were available on our arrival. All the equipment worked well - TV, microwave/oven etc, we encountered no problems during our stay. The property was very private, backing onto the woods, where it was lovely to watch the widlife either from the balcony or the large windows. The neighbourhood is pleasant and quiet, and the property is about 15 mins easy walk into Chapel Hill. We'd be very happy to use the apartment again, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

  • The Sklight Suite is awesome! I really enjoyed staying at the Human Science Center and I would highly reccomend this room. Lots of light, nice bathroom, great desk and chair with a skylight, high speed Wi-Fi, free coffee and breakfast and NY Times! Also there is a kitchen right next door. A lot of interesting people are staying at the center and the grounds are peaceful, relaxing and a block from campus!

  • It's a cozy room. Although the bathroom is kind of tiny, it doesn't really bother me

    Ariel2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time during my stay. It was very close to the bars and restaurants. I pretty much walked everywhere. I was even able to leave my belongings there even though I checked out on Sunday as I was at a bar watching some football. Picked my things up later that night which was grey. Overall an A++ experience.

    Patrick2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I was just looking for a basic room near UNC so it was perfect for that. Everything was as advertised (though wifi was a little spotty) and my stay was great. They even invited me to join for home cooked dinner with a group of interesting people living in the housing coop.

    Eve2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Michael's place! He was very descriptive in his emails to me making it very easy to navigate into the house and to my room! Everything was as described and within walking distance of UNC and infamous Franklin street! Would definitely recommend the stay!

  • I really loved staying at Lydia and Stokely’s place. I received a warm welcome and there were so many thoughtful touches that made me feel right at home! I will definitely look to stay there next time I am in the area!

    Nena2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, convenient. Great location and well stocked. Easy in/out. The bathroom is off the bedroom so would work best for single or a couple.

    Grace2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, amazing amenities, clean and spacious. We loved our stay here!

    Jeannette2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Lyria and Stokely's place. It is super close to Franklin Street and UNC, but still felt private and we had zero issues with noise. Lyria and Stokely were very informative about getting there, getting in the apartment, amenities, etc. They were very communicative. The apartment is newly renovated and sparkling clean. It has everything you'd need for a weekend, including a full kitchen (although all the amazing food nearby makes it hard to want to cook! :p). There isn't a TV, but there is WIFI so we streamed the Olympics on a rainy afternoon. I highly recommend this spot for a cozy weekend in Chapel Hill. :)

    Aleca2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful space in a great location. Everything is new and clean. Stokely is very nice, very responsive. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.

    Leslie2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts. We had a complicated situation with an unusual bout of winter weather in NC during our visit, and the Stokely offered every accommodation possible to help us out. The house is an awesome space - well stocked and well equipped for any length or extent of stay.

    Justin2018-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia and stokely’s place was a wonderful experience for our first time in chapel hill. Their house is centrally located so access to local establishments is very easy. The house was immaculate and they provided anything and everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them as hosts!

  • The house was spacious and comfortable and provided convenient access to the UNC campus. It was a good value that we would recommend to anyone visiting UNC for more than a couple of days. Gorgeous, light filled studio on top floor of downtown Carrboro/Chapel Hill apartment building. Walking distance from the best restaurants, galleries, music venues, shops and bars the area has to offer as well as UNC campus.
  • This apartment was in a great location, right on the edge of Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Katie and Debra were helpful, quick to reply to messages, and made check-in very easy. We didn't mind it, but folks should note that it's right across from Bowbarr's patio, which can be noisy late into the night. That's a minor issue though, given the great location and ability to walk everywhere.

  • Katie and Debra are very nice host. We stayed there for more than half month and they helped us out a lot. In particular, as we are computer science student, we often need to transfer large files and the building wifi was a bit unstable for that. But after they know this issue, they immediately arrange a new cable line directly to the apartment, and that helped us a lot!

  • We had a wonderful stay here. It was clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. Check in couldn't have been easier. Location is amazing - there's a great coffee place around the corner and the walk to Carr Mill and Franklin Street restaurants are just a few blocks in either direction. There was a little bit of noise from other apartments and adjacent business, but only to the level that we were aware of it - it was very minor and didn't disturb us. The hosts provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash - the sort of amenities that are nice to have in a home-away-from-home. There are live plants throughout, which gave it a nice, homey touch. Parking is available behind the building (we met a very friendly lady there a couple of times, walking her cat). All in all a great place in a great neighborhood. We'd definitely stay again.

  • Good location between Franklin Street and Carrboro. Surrounded by great food. Space has everything you would need for an extended stay.

  • Katie and Debra’s place was exactly what I needed. The location was perfect walking distance and was a great place to stay! Katie and Debra were quick to respond to any questions or concerns and were really proactive. I would definitely recommend

  • The apartment is in a fantastic location, and very tastefully decorated. It is walking distance to anything you might want to eat/drink/buy in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Katie and Debra really made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. When I come back to Chapel Hill, I'll definitely try to stay at this place again!

  • The apartment was super clean and conveniently located. I was visiting UNC and found the proximity to the campus, Chapel Hill and Carrboro much appreciated. The apartment is right next-door to my favorite breakfast spot, Jessee's Cafe and within walking distance to many other great eateries. Parking spots were always available, although not assigned. Debra met me, delivered the keys and made sure I was settled. I hope to stay here again when my future plans bring me to town.

  • Beau's place is perfectly located for a Chapel Hill adventure. While on a quiet side street, you can still walk to anywhere on Franklin Street, UNC campus, or Carrboro. It has plenty of room for visiting with friends or family, great TV, tunes, & wifi. We will be looking to stay again come spring.

  • As visiting alumni in Chapel Hill, we truly enjoyed our stay here. It's location is unbeatable, and the house itself was spacious and comfortable. The parking in this location, alone, is a huge bonus. Beau is a great host and is prompt with communication. I would highly recommend.

  • Beau's place is perfectly located and just spacious enough for a weekend away with friends. Everything was comfortable and clean. We had a great weekend and will definitely return!

  • Beau's cottage is in a great location. Our family enjoyed our stay and were able to walk to Franklin St. to enjoy the many outstanding local restaurants.

  • My family came to town for a Tar Heel football game, and Beau's house could not have been any more perfect. It's a 90 second walk to Franklin St, has off-street parking, and is absolutely spick and span clean. The beds are plush and comfortable, the living room is very cozy in which to spend down-time, and everything on campus is within easy walking distance. Beau was quick to respond for the few questions that we had after arrival and made us feel right at home. This happened to be the weekend that Hurricane Matthew hit, and Beau graciously allowed us to stay an extra night before heading home to the Outer Banks even though he had not planned on having any guests that night. Great house and great host.

  • The location was great and everything was clean. It was a little smaller then we thought. It’s an old house but with new amenities. Dishwasher was not working. Beds are big and comfortable. Everything went by just fine and communication with the host was easy and fast.

  • Jamar is an awesome host. The aparment location is perfect to reach anything you need in downtown.

  • Everything was wonderful during our stay. We were very familiar with the area, and knew how close we would be to the heart of downtown. The room itself was private and charming. As it was summer, there was less activity so we did not see many others who stayed. There was access to kitchen, dining and living rooms, but we did not use any. During this time of year in Chapel Hill you can be outside for the entire day which we were. We would go back for another visit in a heart beat.

    Keith2015-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! Can’t beat the location. I was in town for a grad school interview and I could walk to the interview and walked downtown as well. The bathroom was teeny tiny but it served its purpose. It was a little too warm in the room for my liking but the ceiling fan helped. Overall a very good value. We only interacted with Joe the maintenance man but he was super nice and helpful.

  • Estrella was an amazing host! She gave me detailed direction to get to her place from RDU. Very reponsive and considerate! Didn't have a chance to meet her in person due to very tight schedule in town though. The room is clean and tidy, the pull-out sofa bed was unexpectedly comfortable! The room size is just right. The house is about 6 min walk to School of Public Health. I am very glad that I chose this host.

  • Despite complications about availability of the rooms after the reservation was made (in order to allow an earlier guest to remain in the space), the host did everything possible to re-accommodate me in a neighboring Airbnb. Ultimately, it became a non-issue and I was able to stay as originally booked. Communications from host were spot-on along the way.

    Marcy2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was quite difficult to communicate with the host and Center for Human Science. I was sent information to check into a room that was not the one that I booked. Since the host was out of town, I was given several numbers to try- either no one answered or the mailbox was full. The host did communicate that she was trying to get in touch with someone immediately. It took approximately three hours after check in time to get put into another room. The wifi in the first room would not work at all, but I had better luck with the second room. Otherwise the stay was lovely, great neighborhood.

  • The location is prime and walking distance to campus and Franklin Street. The place was super clean and neat, which is always comforting when you are traveling. Also the futon bed was very comfortable, which isn't something that is also expected. We feel the only ding on our stay was that we requested additional towels since there were 4 of us (which we stayed on the transaction) and we only had two towels upon arrival and we never received them. Also, someone who seemed to be intoxicated, attempted to get into our room late at night but we had the additional lock set so thankfully even if they had the code they couldn't get in. Also, I would make a note, that the complimentary coffee and breakfast are not at this location we stayed at. If we wanted to have that, we would have had to walk two houses down. Not too big of a deal, but I was under the impression it was where we were staying. (I may have missed that note in the notes given about the place ahead of time.) Overall, we would certainly stay at this location again and may next year when we visit Chapel Hill again.

    Heather2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodation. Comfortable and conveniently located, washer and dryer available, the free coffee is a big plus. Would recommend and sign up for again.

    Dylan2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • It is in a superb location and is a great place to stay at. The neighbourhood is as close as you can get to UNC. What I didn't know was that the property had multiple 'houses' within the house - so basically, there will be other people in the property using the shared kitchen and table. However, the prices are right, comes with a shower booth and bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it for four - two would be a lovely fit, three would be tight and four would be bordering discomfort. The coffee in the morning was truly welcomed, although the bagels unfortunately ran out that very morning. The maid told us her sincere apologies, and I don't think this happens often. Overall, the place is a great value for people, hopefully two, visiting UNC and looking for breakfast and some wonderful company.
