My home is farther from Sequoia National Park than Three Rivers's rentals, but closer to less touristy places in which to experience the sequoias. I live here, in the 5th bedroom, and will be able to help you shape an itinerary that reflects your interests. Once you book and I can email you, I will send you a list of all the things you can do in the area.
My home is right in the center of Springville; you can walk to the market and the few restaurants. There is a full kitchen (with gas and charcoal grill), outside by the pool for guests to use (instead of the house one). I will have coffee, and/or tea for you; you can then go to the two great breakfast places. Great hiking, cycling, and just hanging out. No TV, but free wifi and long distance land line. I will tell you all the best, secret places to go to! Lately, I have been sharing options with my guests of what to see/do beyond my area, and how to put that together. Guests have mentioned that they wish they would have spoken with me *before* arriving and making all of their other commitments. (Some places they could have stayed longer, some shorter, some added, some omitted.) So, if you have some ideas of what you would like to see in CA and would like some feedback about the logistics, feel free to ask. The details part of this site is a little confusing. I have 4 bed rooms, each has a queen bed and can only accommodate 2 people per room. The suite and the room with the view have private bath rooms; the other two rooms share a bath (though you will never have to share with someone not in your group). If your group has more than 2 people, you will need to arrange for (and pay for) more rooms.
My house is perfect for visitors because though I am surrounded by acres of cattle land, I am also a two minute walk into town (though "town" is only about two blocks long.) There are two Mexican restaurants, a home cooking cafe, Frank's -- a bar and restaurant and , a burger place, as well as a small grocery store if you would rather cook.
  • Lamentablemente sólo estuvimos una noche en casa de Michal. Nos hubiera gustado contar con más tiempo para disfrutar de su compañía y recorrer la zona. Las comodidades que ofrece son excelentes y su hospitalidad También.

  • This house was amazing, for sure im coming back!

  • Michal was an awesome host. So accommodating and helpful. Her house was the perfect ending to our trip. Secluded, peaceful and relaxing. I wish I could have stayed longer.

    Lisa2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place to stay. Great host, nice pool, lovely room. Great Mexican food down the road. Highly recommend it!

    Chris2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Michal was definitely a good choice! She helped me greatly in finding the most interesting places to hike, taking the Needle Rock as an example. Even with the then unclear situation of the National Parks being officially closed, she helped finding out where to go. The place itself was very nice, i felt comfortable and welcome there.

    Moritz2013-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A very quiet tidy space, we had a lovely time and would come again. Thanks!

    Aidan2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxing room with a beautiful view! Quick walk to a couple restaurants in town. Michal was a lot of fun to talk to and a great guide to the area.

    David2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cover is a perfectly fitting of the book! Michal was a wonderful host with interesting stories, relaxing accomodations, and perfect suggestions for what to see while near Sequoia National Forest. We needed to break away from city living for a few days and this stay was perfect! My only regret is that I didn't stay longer to experience more of the "great energy". I would definitely return and will recommend this location to all of my family, logical and biological.

The bunkhouse has viewing windows of the river. Relax down at the river in the hammock or use our picnic basket and have a picnic at the river! Swing out into the river on the rope swing (Warmest swimming hole in Springville area)! Finish with an outdoor shower! Venture to the Giant Sequoias or to Lake Success! Lots of opportunities to hike along the river or up a hill for a valley view. Woody can give you locations.
In the Bunkhouse we have, Wifi, mini frig, microwave, and crockpot. We offer grandpa and grandma's queen sized bed. We have a beautiful river setting with two dogs that rome the place (Copper and DOG). You really can't go to the river without them getting all excited. Just say SHOO and they leave ya alone OR pet them all day long if ya want. Or just relax in the hammock or the hammock chair and read a book while listening to the sounds of the river. We have seen and you may see, deer, raccoon, skunk, tree squirrels, ground squirrels, bear, bobcat, and a red fox (that lives in the rocks across the river.) (You won't see all these every day of course) Birds - we have scrub jays, robins, hummingbirds, house wren, black headed toehee, Great blue haron, canadian geese, mallard ducks, gold finch, mocking bird, turkey vulture, several types of owls, American dipper, white egret, kingfisher, and the black birds, sparrows, starlings. Oh, and our local wild turkeys. We have more acorn woodpecker in Springville area than anywhere else in the world. If ya want to fish just don't fish while someone is swimming near ya. Insects - think out in the woods and come prepared. With our dogs around, you probably won't see a snake - however, better to be prepared. So, we have walking sticks for you that can aid you if you run across one to move it out of the way.
The small quite town of Springville is 1 mile away. Springville is a gateway to the Giant Sequoias and many outdoor recreational opportunities. We have a really nice golf course, River Island, just a few miles away that follows the river. Success Lake is 10 miles from the Bunkhouse with rentals for house boating, kayaking and jet skiing. It is a fishing and swimming lake. Springville has a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Wednesday nights (weather permitting) we have local live music for people in the area at River Ridge and at Frank's (at the Springville Inn) - one mile one way and one mile the other way from us from Springville. Friday nights during the summer months we have live music from all over the valley at the Springville Park Gazebo (Free). In the summer we have open air family movies at the rodeo grounds once a month. And we have the once a year Springville Rodeo, Once a year Springville Apple Fesival, and the once a year Springville Jackass Mail Run. We even have a world renowned resident astronomer that has star parties once a month. Our little town has a great Cowpuncher's Cafe, Wild Oak Coffee House, the Hamburger Stand, two Mexican restaurants, and Franks place at the Springville Inn that all have really good food. Gifford's market is small but is complete in things you may need. They specialize in B-B-Que meats and have a very good meat selection.
  • We had an absolutely lovely time staying at your property it’s a beautiful place and the dogs are amazing!! We couldn’t have wished for more! Thank you for the recommendations heading towards sequoia both were absolutely stunning!! Your top of our list if/when we come back to the US

  • Cute little place surrounded by beautiful mountains and trees.

    Lauren2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse is well kept! The bathtub is great and has candles for a romantic or relaxing bath. The river running behind is wonderful to listen to and relaxing. The entire space was relaxing. Woody has great suggestions on what to do in the town, where to eat, and even groceries!

    Mauricio2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Woody’s place was great, we had an incredible time cooling off in the swimming hole and hanging out with the friendly dogs down by the water. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to visit again sometime!

    Sequoyah2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Woody‘s place was lovely, the only thing we regretted was not enjoying the scenery for another night.

    Agne2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to relax by the river. Nice and quiet. Woody and his family were so kind. Great host! We were welcomed by the dogs who gave us a tour to the hammock before jumping in the river. The place is wonderful, with a great touch. I appreciated the fresh flowers in the room. The view from the room and the sound of the river running is so amazing. I will definitely come back!

Our property comes with a natural plant-filtered swimming pool with a beautiful waterfall that is perfect to hang out next to and bbq, read a book or take a nap in the hammock or feel free to go swimming in the pond with the Bass and Blue Gill. We have the Tule River flowing in our backyard (how much of a flow depends on the season) with many swimming holes within walking distance. We also have two friendly dogs named Copper and DOG and a cat named Bella that will be at your beck and call. They are extraordinarily friendly and love to be petted. Don’t be afraid to give them some love! We are also very centrally located for golf at River Island, spending the day at Lake Success or hiking in the Sequoia National Forest. Feeling hungry? Get your grub on at the Hamburger Stand or some home-made ice cream at Wild Oak - just minutes away! You won’t regret it!

We are within minutes of some of the best eating establishments and the gateway to the Sequoia National Park.
  • The Bar house served us as a super comfortable launch point for exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP and meant Sequoia National Forest. We loved quick access to Springville for breakfast at Cowpunchers (an authentic slice of Americana) and dinner at Frank's. The house had a comfortable bed, great sheets and towels, a serviceable kitchen for coffee, breakfast, and a hot plate. We loved our stay here. They do a great job to make you happy and it really shows.

  • Amazing place!! Super cute decor, very clean, and the AC is fantastic. The hosts are very sweet and helpful :)

    Carlos2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Magical. Majestic. This place was simply amazing. There was so much love and thoughtfulness put into all the details. The entire place looked like it could be in a magazine. The dogs were extremely well behaved and affectionate. The bed was outrageously comfortable and the room was emaculant. The outside was a pure oasis and very relaxing place to hangout and look at the stars. I would give this place an extra star if I could!

    Alex2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Cozy, pretty everything you need. The communication was smooth and easy. Would definitely recommend

  • Loved the outdoor living quarters. The awesome dog walking around. The beautiful river within 3 min walking distance. Socializing with Mehmet and Xico.

    Tomas2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent a wonderful night here. Xico was a wonderful host. Very attentive and the breakfast was amazing!! The place is secluded with the sounds of the river running by and the chickens in their coup. There are lots of interesting and appealing touches with the various outdoor common areas and the artwork and landscaping.

    Kevin2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice and cozy place to stay the night surrounded by stunning nature and perfect night skies! Loved it

    Tina2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique experience! Mehmet/Xico's home is truly for nature lovers! If you enjoy waking up to the call of a rooster - then you would love to stay here! Although we did not get to meet the hosts as they were away traveling, their lovely friend Destiny greeted us upon our arrival with water and snacks. The outdoor shower was one of my favourite parts. Their dogs were so friendly and slept beside our bed halfway through the night. The rooster and chickens woke us early but then we went back to sleep and woke with the sun. We had beautiful evening and morning views from the outdoor room. Be mindful this spot is for those who enjoy being outside/using outdoor facilities. Thanks again!

    Melissa2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mehmet and Chico's place is very inviting and warm. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and all of my requests were met. They have a lovely natural space that lends itself to healing and restoration. Their close proximity to the Giant Sequoia's was a perfect mini retreat for me.

    Kristi2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mehmet was super accommodating. It rained during our stay and he made sure we we're comfortable the whole time. the property is very beautiful and it's amazing to wake up to the mountains and the river in the morning.

  • After 12 hours of driving this was the perfect place to rest. We got a quick tour of the place and enjoyed a nice relaxing night under the stars in the hot tub with the sound of the river in the background. Sharon and Doug were the sweetest couple and their dogs Abraham and Lincoln were a hoot! Will definitely recommend this place!

    Juan2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Doug was an excellent host. He's an extremely warm person and was very helpful throughout our stay. The place itself is gorgeous and the dogs, Abe (infinite energy on this guy :)) and Lincoln, are the friendliest I've ever met.

My rentals were never meant to be like a Holiday Inn.
The theme is that of a old western town. For the purpose of amusement although we do have running water and electricity and a hot plate to cook on rather than a wood burning stove.
Many of the adjoining properties around the rentals are ranches.
  • Una de mis mejores experiencias, no hay servicio telefónico ni internet lo cual es maravilloso porque te conectas con la naturaleza y contigo mismo, Sin duda volvería, ❤️

    Diana2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a gem. Tucked away but so close to sequoia national park. The space is so cute, clean and also functional. We were able to cook and shower and sleep in a comfy bed before going into the park. The host is super hospitable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

  • Alfred was amazing and his getaway spot just adorable!

    Tiffany2019-03-17T00:00:00Z

    Yvonne+Alan2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Alfred’s place is something different and unique, with its own atmosphere and authenticity. Stargazing, charcoal BBQ, fire pit and absence of WiFi is an absolute fun! Would love to do something like that again once in a while :)

The Granny Bed was originally my grandmother's bed and given to me by her when I went to university...many years ago. Now it sits among the oaks on a little hill covered by a high pitched roof.
The Granny Bed shed comes complete with a comfortable bed surrounded by a mosquito net, small trash bin, a night table, a watchful friendly dog, unparalleled views, and a starry night sky.
Neighborhood consists of Blue oak woodland habitat, dark night skies, a major Sierran river, and representatives from the best houses (birds, butterflies, mammals, reptiles, and more.
  • We came up to Mehmet and Chico’s to re center ourselves from our busy life back at home. And we did just that. Very quite and peaceful. Chico showed us around and gave us suggestions on things to do. You have an option for a fresh breakfast and we decided to try it. Best decision ever! Plenty of space to relax. We were heading out that morning and were invited to participate in a Temescal ceremony which was very special. We felt very welcomed and appreciate that. We will never forget our experience and hope to see you guys again. Highly recommend it.

    Claire2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Mehmet/Chico's place was great! If you use (Hidden by Airbnb) maps and have their written directions on hand you will find their place. I was traveling solo and I arrived a bit later than I planned to around 4pm but Chico and I had been messaging earlier in the day. Even before I arrived I could feel his welcoming energy. As soon as I got there, I got a mini tour of the land. We were racing against the sun so Chico showed me the important bits first. The river is so close and you can hear it from the granny bed shed at night. It's a great experience. The shed is exactly what is says and what the picture shows. It is a cute bed on a platform shed structure. Chico offers plenty of blankets but I brought two extra just in case. I ended up using one over my head. At night there are noises that are to be expected when you are outside. Expect some little tree debris to hit the shed and some other noises here and there but if that doesn't bother you then you'll be fine. The space is setup with running water for washing yourself and dishes. The communal kitchen is setup with basics for storing and cooking your food. There is an electronic tea kettle so bring your fave tea to sip by the fire! The dogs were adorable and Tulley who is named after the river kept me company at night in the shed. My favorite part exploring near the river and sitting in the communal area with a fire going. There was a friendly young couple there and another solo traveler. Although my trip was short I enjoyed every second of it and I know I will be back.

  • I’ve stayed here twice now because I love it so much!

    Isabelle2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 would recommend! Perfect place to enjoy nature.

    Marie-Philippe2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mehmet&Chico were extremely welcoming. We had no problems finding the place thanks to very clear directions sent beforehand. The site is absolutely magical and sleeping outside (in a very comfy bed) was an unforgettable experience (special thanks to Tule for keeping us safe during the night!) Definitely recommend the place if you are looking for a unique Airbnb experience!

  • I had a wonderful two day stay. The best word I can think of to describe the experience is enchanted. Everything about this place is magical. Definitely do the breakfast!

  • So so glad I booked after having some reservations being a solo female traveling on this trip! Felt very safe, secure, and blew my expectations of what a healing and grounding experience it would be. Being so close to the river with the natural beauty of the mountains was so unique and beautiful. Very quiet & calm stay and the 2 German shepherds on the property were a nice touch. Would def come back!

  • Mehmet and Chico were very accomodating with our time of arrival and brought us some fresh fruits in the morning. it's fun to wake up in a community environment with the local campers. The river is absolutely gorgeous and the bedroom is comfortable and dreamy. The dogs are very welcoming and might wake you up in the morning with a friendly paw!

Springville house is close to great mountain views of Sequoia National Forest. This house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). It is a quiet area close to lake success and river. Please note that Sequoia National Park is about 1.5 hours (70 miles) from house.
Close to Eagle Mountain Casino, Lake Success and river. It also has beautiful hikes near by.
Springville House is located close to the Sequoia Forest and a few miles away from Lake Success.

  • La casa es muy comoda, esta a una hora de la entrada sur del parque sequioa y si vas con niños la casa es perfecta.

  • The place worked perfect for us. The host was very responsive. Easy to find the key. We mainly needed a place to crush as we were hiking most of the days. There’s a fire place you can use that we enjoyed. Loved the farm feel you get when waking up in the morning. Plenty of kitchenware to use. Plenty of blankets and towels. If you like BBQ, a grill is available too. Toys and puzzles available for family with kids. I’m with AT&T and got great reception. Will definitely recommend.

  • This location is right in the heart of Springville. We spent time at the annual rodeo and on the lake and everything was so close. The place was very clean and Rosalba is great with communication.

Though the home has been a part of downtown Springville for over 100 years this is a very comfortable two bedroom, two bath home. One bathroom has a vintage soaking tub and the other bathroom has a shower. The over-sized living room has a sitting area, TV viewing area and a game table. There is a separate dining area off of the kitchen. Springville is on the road to the famous Giant Sequoia National Monument. Hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and fishing and beautiful scenery.
  • Great place to get away, and disconnect from the world. The locals are so nice and the house is so cute!

  • Loved our stay. We spent most of our days at Lake Success and also went up to 100 giant trees trail. Derrick's home was awesome. Perfectly located in the smallest, cutest town. Walking distance to the few town restaurants. Sweetest stray cats that kept my kids thoroughly entertained. Access to washer and dryer was awesome because the mud from the lake was messy. Cooked most of our meals and had most everything we needed (minus a wine opener, so bring your own ;). Loved this place, hope to return.

  • Super great place to stay. Very spacious and cozy... lots of places to eat at a walking distance.

  • Everything was great! Such a cute friendly town and the cottage is exactly as described. Had everything I needed, clean, comfortable bed and pillows, my dogs loved the huge yard to play. Highly recommend, & will definitely return!!

  • My stay was really great and comfortable. The place is just like it is in the picture, the decorating in the house is really amazing and makes you feel like you're back in the Victorian era except you have modern amenities. The Wi-Fi is fast, there are air conditioners in every room, there's a brita filter on the sink, and there is a full size refrigerator and stove. I would stay here again. I was in the area for business and I would recommend this place to business travelers. As a tip for people who are visiting - the location is also a very short walk to at least 3 to 4 restaurants and a coffee shop. The prices are very reasonable, I didn't eat at the Mexican restaurants but I ate at the tavern and cowboy place, both are very good and are not expensive. The local grocery store is a bit pricey, but I stopped and porterville and picked up groceries. There's an Aldi's in porterville and porterville is about 20 minutes away.

The property is walking distance to the town of Springville. It is the perfect location for the annual Apple festival in October and Rodeo in April and only 7 miles to the base of the National Forest. The property is also close to Lake Success for those of you who like sun bathing and playing in the water.
While in the house you develop a peacefulness and can not help but to relax.
We have a park in town and on Friday night during the summer months they play live music. The Cowpunchers coffee shop is a fun place to visit for breakfast and Franks for a nice dinner, and Giffords Market for all your shopping.
  • This place the best place to stay. We really recommend it.

    Ofelia2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Randall’s place is a perfect place to access the Southern Sierras. Randall was quick to respond and check in was very easy. The house is large with plenty of space. Check out Wild Oak Coffee too since its not too far away either.

  • We loved the place though it is a very lonely town, which is why I enjoyed it. The house is very spacious with comfortable beds, basic amenities in the kitchen but, I don’t recall seen a microwave so we used the pots and stove instead, which we cleaned. The owner was very responsive and sent us directions since cellular service in the area was minimal. The owner has wi-fi too, which was very helpful. Thank you

Outdoor Campsites available for 1-5 campers. Bring all of your own gear, food, and kitchen supplies. Outdoor composting toilet and shower. Hiking, Biking, Climbing tours available for fee. Each site is unique w/ outdoor beds, hammocks, and platform beds from trees. 15% of our Airbnb proceeds go towards volunteer-driven land and river restoration projects with the local non-profit organization WildPlaces. Our guests are invited to volunteer (see (URL HIDDEN) for calendar of events).
Spontaneous decisions are rewarded here. Planning to camp? Camping to plan? A little under prepared? Super prepared? No concept of how seasons work, but with relentless determination to camp? Luckily, you have found the Land that Xico and Mehmet stewards and your request to stay is immediately reviewed. Our little secluded paradise is a blast and accepts exceptional people. Friends from the Aztec, environmental justice, spiritual, and playful communities come here regularly. No camp neighbors, no tourist shuttles, just straight up nature as it gets. We are both accommodating hosts and are passionate about our community and the environment. Connect with us. Do some brain picking with us or just be surrounded by some juicy-land love. "Xico and Mehmet are one another's dream weaver and run a dazzling array of ranch, nature, spirit and song," says recent guest Iggy. The land has a communal patio equipped with an outdoor kitchen and a comfortable living/dining area next to a camp furnace (affectionally called The Franklin). The entire setup is warm and inviting and it's easy to find yourself cozied-up on a couch next to the fire with a book and their lovely pets. You will inevitably fall in love with the pets -- Tule the tour guide dog. It's the best you're going to get for the price. It's only $10-$15 more than camping in the national parks but the solitude here is superior to designated camp slots in the parks. And if you came to hang out with some Giant Sequoias, the Trail of 100 Giants is just an 1.5 hour drive from the property. Dome Rock and its climb opportunities is even closer a nice little spot with the perfect view overlooking the Sierra. Xico and Mehmet are knowledgeable locals and they can craft an experience for you if you just ask. Go out there and have fun! Side tip: Visalia and Exeter Ca are near by eclectic small cities
Springville is the gateway to the Giant sequoias and many recreation opportunities. The town is small and our place is located just out of town at the end of a very rural road.
  • Where to begin with this wonderful experience? The fact this is a secret part of nature, kept by two wonderful hosts, the incredible breakfasts (and more!) cooked by Xico, sleeping in a hammock by a river and waking to the sound of cicadas? This is about as close to what AirBnB should and could be about as possible. Highest recommendation.

  • Fantastic place !

    Armand2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Xico and Carlos made our group feel very welcome. Xico texted me prior to ensure we were on the same page as far as arrival and number of people, which made me feel better about the reservation. We ended up picking a flat spot on the land near the river and camped in our tents. The land is beautiful and I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a relaxing night in a nature setting. Everyone there was very friendly and we really enjoyed hanging out with their friendly animals. :)

    Alyssa2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed myself more than i thought i would have. It's nice to get away and reacquaint yourself with wonder

    Andrew2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you're used to camping, this is a perfect place for you to stay. It's pretty rustic (port-a-potties, completely open-air bed, no real protection from wind/rain/dirt)-- but, if you're okay with that, it will be an incredible experience. The view is spectacular, with mountains visible on all four sides of the camp, and the bed was actually super comfortable. If you get a clear night, you'll have some of the best star gazing of your life! Bring your own pillows and blankets and an extra sheet for the mattress. My husband and I were pretty exhausted while we were there, so we didn't interact with Mehmet or Chico very much, but they seem like cool guys!

    Rebecca2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mehmet and Xico were fantastic hosts! Some of the most friendly and open people I've met. They are both dedicated to ensuring you have the best possible experience and it is clear that they enjoy meeting new people and sharing their wonderful property. Out of the four bed options, we slept in the grandmas bed both nights we were there. It was great to be able to sleep outside under the stars and trees while listening to the river nearby. If you go during winter, you definitely need to bring some extra layers as it will get cold at night. They have a great communal patio area with a neat stove they use as a fire place which is perfect for gathering around to get to know each other. Xico and Mehmet's place is secluded and immersed in nature. It is perfect spot to come to, to relax, commune with nature, or get away from the bustle of city life. It is not a place where you come to get drunk and throw a party. If that's what you are looking for, you should look elsewhere. As a bonus, their animals are all super friendly and sweet, just like Xico and Mehmet! Highly recommend this place, and hopefully will be coming back myself soon

    Kevin2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great camping spot with amazing views and direct access to the Tule river (a dip in the clear cold water is the best way to start the day!). Mehmet and Xico are very nice hosts and the dogs so friendly! Just be aware that campfires are not always permitted within the property, even in moderate fire hazard conditions. Overall, perfect location to explore Sequoia National forest!

    Julie2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mehmet and Xico have an amazing property for camping. So nice being able to just sleep on their swinging bed under the stars. Would definitely recommend this to anybody.

  • We had a wonderful time in the barn apartment on Holland Ranch. Beautiful setting, very relaxing, lots of great animals from barn cats to cows. The barn apartment has such a personality and unique style. Ronn was a wonderful host, and even invited us up to the main house on New Year's Eve to toast the new year. We will definitely be back!

    Stacey2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ronn was a terrific host! Communication was terrific, responses typically happen within minutes. The area was absolutely beautiful, property was nice and surroundings were magnificent. We had a great stay and are definitely planning on coming back sometime during the winter! Thanks Ronn, we all had a blast and the kids did not want to leave !!

  • True farm escape! We had such a wonderful time exploring the grounds and feeding the horses. The house is fully stocked with everything you could need including kitchenware and seasoning. About an hour away from both sequoia national park and sequoia national forest. Ronn is wonderfully responsive and left us fruit, candy, and wine. I would book again without hesitation!

    Jessica2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the barn! It was so quiet and peaceful, and the balcony and patio were great places to sit in the mornings and evenings to enjoy the stillness. Everything we needed was there -- kitchen utensils and appliances, towels, etc. -- all we had to do was get some groceries and it felt like we were at home. It was also a great base from which to explore the sequoias -- one day we drove along 190 up through Ponderosa, hiked the Trail of 100 Giants, then stopped at California Hot Springs to swim and soak for the afternoon, and then looped back through Porterville to the barn. It was a good day trip. Ronn gave us all the information that we could have needed and made the stay enjoyable. Thanks!

  • My wife and I were looking for a way to have our daughter spend time with her cousins who live in LA (we live in the Bay Area) and we decided on staying at Diana and Ron's barn. The setting was gorgeous and a great place for our kids to play outside with their dogs and generally explore nature. The barn's two bedrooms are spacious and we more than large enough to accommodate our two small families. The BBQ worked great, and the kitchen, while small, was very efficient and we were able to easily orient ourselves in it. Diana and Ronn were very responsive and helpful. I recommend it

  • Terrific location near the sequoias with expansive decks and awesome views! We loved the lower game room, because it allowed the main house to be quiet when desired. Bed in the Master was very comfortable, and the kitchen stocked with nearly everything you would need including coffee, spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and even sugar and flour. I had brought our own, but now that I know, packing for a return trip will be much lighter! There is a BBQ grill in the garage too. Thanks, Jeff for the personal contact too!

    Nancy2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best place i stayed. Location is great not too far from sequoia national park and with plenty of hikes around the area. The house is AMAZING! I stayed with friends for my birthday in march (perfect weather) the house is big and confortable, the views from the house are incredible. They thought of everything...jacuzzi, pool (w pool toys to keep you entertained) firepit, bbq, pool house with a window that leads to the pool, pool table, plenty of bourd games, you really dont have to bring anything they have it all. It a great place for a group because there is plenty of room to not be in each others way and so many things to do at the house itself. We spent both days in the pool and jacuzzi. Jeffrey was great, he answered all my annoying questions and he even heated up the pool for us for a fee and it was so worth it! We are definetely coming back!

    Pato2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's home was better than we could have hoped for, and the pictures don't do it justice. My family and I stayed here for a long needed family vacation, and it was perfect. Springville holds a special place in our hearts anyway, and this home emphasized it, from the stunning views out all windows, the great pool, jacuzzi, and game room, to the lake to fish in and the paddle tennis court....all on one property. And Jeff was an excellent host who answered all my questions promptly, and checked in to make sure we had all we needed. He helped make it a truly exceptional weekend.

    Holly2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place for some family vacation time! Loved that this house was really family and pet friendly, but also so clean! So many awesome things about the house and property that are super different and fun. We loved the swim-up bar at the pool. And the indoor/outdoor hot tub. The game room was super cool. A great place to bring family of all different personalities and interests! This house has sound proof aspects so that the loud peeps playing pool and blasting music downstairs don’t disturb the quiet people reading or watching their shows upstairs. The views are amazing. The sunsets gorgeous. Wish we would have played pickle ball but it was a million degrees out, so we passed and spent most of the time in the pool. Perfect place to tell the boss they literally won’t be able to get ahold of you. No service, except for WiFi in a tiny part of the house. Don’t we all need to unplug once in awhile?? Great place to do it! The host is really quick getting back with answers to any questions. Will definitely be booking this again in the future!

    Amy2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Super relaxing and perfect remote property. Our dogs had a blast and we were able to relax in the peace and quiet! Everything was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely come back to this farm house!

    Jessica2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey owns an amazing property and it has everything to make for a fun filled long weekend. It's close enough to the National park yet easy enough to get to the local stores. Loved the hot tub, pool and the game room. Also ended up playing paddle tennis with our tennis stuff--was a lot of fun! Thank you Jeffrey. We hope to return again soon!

    Vasudev2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • To start off, this place was absolutely amazing. The house was much larger than we thought and easily fit everyone comfortably. The Hafuma Ranch provides a lot of activities to do including paddle tennis, archery, swimming, pool and even just chilling in the Jacuzzi. The ranch is about 20 min away from Porterville, so going to the store wasn't that bad. Make sure to go outside for the sunsets! Jeffrey was also very helpful and easy to reach out to for any questions I had.

Welcome to Springville CA, only 3 hours North of LA and 3.5hours south of San Jose in the foothills of the Sierra mountains. We are 90 minutes South of Sequoia National Park and 45 minutes West of Balch Park, home of the largest trees in the world. Our home is on the 13'th fairway of River Island Golf Club right across the street from the clubhouse. The house makes the perfect getaway for family gatherings, the neighborhood is quiet and private and makes for a great place to stay.
We have worked very hard to provide something for everybody. There are many fun things to do outside like Bocce ball, Corn Hole, Horseshoes & Frisbee. We have 2 BBQs (Gas & deep pit charcoal) and we supply the gas and charcoal. We just competed a new game room called "Park" that hosts a Ping Pong table, electronic darts, Sonos music, guitars to play (music books provided for those guests wanting to learn to play) and plenty of other fun stuff. It is a beautiful room that is comfortable, quiet and spacious. It has become the favorite room in the house with our guests, especially our guests with children as they can now play in a safe and quiet space and keep entertained. We have HD Direct TV as well as Sonos music in every room with with Pandora, XM & Spotify music services ready to play your favorite tunes. This is the perfect house for a large group, 5 Bedrooms, 4 baths, (3 of the bedrooms are suites with private baths) and lots of outdoor areas to enjoy. The home has 8 beds and a sofa bed and can even accommodate more, perfect for large families, groups, weddings and reunions. We recently insulated the entire house and installed a new A/C & heater so the house will stay at your preferred temperature during any season. We have a new large Fridge/Freezer with an ice maker and a second one in the game room, a must for large groups. We have designed the outdoor living areas to take advantage of the perfect Springville weather. It is a wonderful house for your large group. River Island Golf Course (The highest rated course in the Central Valley) provides preferred tee times for our guests. This house has 2 large indoor dining tables (One flips over as a professional Poker table) Poker chips and cards are provided. We have a huge 10' picnic table outside to take advantage of the perfect Springville weather. Because the house is so centrally located and is one story, it is the perfect home for all ages. The house is very popular for families with young kids as well as older family members. With new beds and a quiet location, it is a favorite with everybody. We have had a number of groups use the house for the older members of the family for wedding parties and family reunions since access is so easy. Whatever the size or age of your group, purpose of your trip or time of year, we really do have it all. Hot water: Please note that for our larger groups, the hot water supply can be depleted quickly if all the showers are used at the same time. We recommend spacing showers out to avoid this from happening. We also recommend running the dishwasher at night. Wifi: The house has great wifi coverage but the speeds they offer in our neighborhood are not very fast especially when multiple users are online at the same time.
This neighborhood is quiet and private and makes for a great place to stay.
  • It is a great house, very spacious with all required amenities for a family and a large group of friends. Sound system is great!!! Location is also scenic within manageable distance from Sequoia/Kings National park. Owner is also very easily reachable for any questions.

    Prasad2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steve is really kind and helpful, he was really patient to answer all my questions. The location is very nice and easy to find. I have to say that I love the house, it is big with all the nice decorations, that really makes you feel like home.

    Ivy2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was super comfy for our group, and Steve was very responsive and gelpful. The sonos music system, all the games, were fun perks. Perfect spot for a laid back family reunion!

    Pamela2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We (family of 11 - 2 kids, 3 seniors) stayed here during our trip to Sequoia NP (btw, it is an hour away, so just be prepared for that drive). The property was beautiful and the area seemed pretty safe (mostly senior citizens in the neighborhood). Being set on the golf course, we had a lovely view to wake up to and look at. The house was clean and prepared for our stay. The gaming table and the ping pong table was fun for the kids and the “young” adults. The house is equipped with a Sonos System in each room, so it allowed the kids to plug their music in wherever they liked. We would stay there again if ever in the area.

It was too bad that the pool and spa were not heated, although it was about 70s, it would have been nice to dip in after a day of hiking. The wifi was a bit slow, or well, maybe not equipped to hold 11 people’s gadgets.

There’s not much to do in the city, which is fine, just be prepared to bring other entertainment stuff if your family needs it. There is a grocery store nearby, but we do recommend packing food from home too (we packed 3 days worth of breakfast and lunch, and went to eat out when needed).

The property manager was very helpful with our stay. She answered all of our questions and was very open with letting us call her if we needed anything.

  • The host was awesome! Timely response & the house was great! It was spacious, the sound system was awesome, backyard was really nice! The heater worked great too cause it was a very cold couple of days. Thanks for everything!

The Holland Ranch is a 7 acre hillside home located 5.2 miles from the Sequoia National Forest gateway. Enjoy the newly remodeled cooks kitchen and wide open spaces. The views from the cantilever deck are breathtaking and only 26 miles up to Balch Park and the Giant Sequoias.
The ranch sits just 2 miles (5.2 miles to the entrance) from the edge of the Sequoia National Forest in the foothills of the Sierras. Giant granite boulders tower and others rest in the sweeping pastures surrounded by horses and cattle. The Home lies high above these pastures with spectacular westward views. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots to explore: Ride bikes, Take a long walk around Globe Drive (6 miles), Go to Lake Success for a swim or fish. This is a rural setting with plenty of indigenous wildlife to include: Mountain Lion, Black Bear, Coyote, Raccoon, Bobcat, Rattlesnake, Golden Eagles, Red Tails, Blue Heron, Egrets and many songbirds etc...**** THERE IS ONLY AT&T cell phone service in the rural Springville area. !****
The Location is gorgeous. Amazing mountain views with large boulders and rolling pastures. Nicely paved roads for biking, hiking abounds! Let us know if you need bikes for a ride around Globe Drive. Explore the Sequoias the gateway is just 5 miles away. Lake Success is a small lake where you can swim & fish or rent a pontoon boat or jet ski or bring your own. In the nearby town of Springville, there are a few restaurants and shops. I have a hand book for you that lists everything to see in Springville and surrounding area. The local Giant Sequoias are within 23 miles (Balch Park) & 75 (The Generals) miles.

    Laure2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great views. Secluded. Lots of space. Just an easy comfortable.home base for exploring the southeast part of Sequoia. I’d stay here again in a minute.

  • We had such a great time staying here. Is was so peaceful, cozy, and relaxing, only wish we could've stayed longer. The kitchen was perfect and fully stocked, every amenity you need is there. We hiked up the property every day with our dogs and they loved it, and loved all the land they had access to. The views of the hills and pastures were beautiful. We came during Christmas weekend, and Ronn put up a tree for us, which was so thoughtful. We decorated it with the ornaments he left for us too, so it was like our own touch on the tree :) He also left us fresh fruit, bagels, cream cheese, juice and candy. Definitely an incredible host (and extremely responsive) with a gem of a property, we would love to come back!

    Angie2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect escape. Feels like a real getaway, beautiful spot to relax with friends and family or explore the nearby parks. Host has been fabulous about everything. Already want to come back!

  • Ronn was an amazing host! Excellent communication, gave great information on local restaurants and outdoor activities surrounding the house. We had a great stay at the ranch. My daughters loved the horses and cats on the property. We enjoyed exploring the property and the back porch is a beautiful place to watch the sun set! The home was beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. An excellent home base for visiting the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park we came to see (1.5 hours to south entrance and 2 hours to north entrance). We had an amazing stay at the ranch, would defiantly return if in the area again.

    Ashley2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views. The photos on line are nothing compared to what you will see when you arrive!! definitely suited for 6 max.. It was only 5 of us, but Ronn was cool to let us have some local family as day guests. The horses right down the road are super friendly! The tap water is amazing and super fresh. Only minor for us was no access to washer dryer, which we understand when on septic. Ronn was helpful with some recommendations nearby though. Would definitely go again.

    Gabriela2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place below Sequoia. Ronn left us bagels, fruit and candy when we arrived. Nice place with nice view of sunsets. Kids loved the horses. Ronn gave us some good tips for exploring Sequoia.

    Joshua2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at Ron’s place. He’s truly thought of everything. We used the house as a home base to explore the sequoia national forest. You could teach beautiful hikes as close as camp Nelson which was 30 min away. We went as far as Balch Park (50 min) and the trail of 100 giants (1 hr 20 min). We also explored the very small town and took it easy. It felt very remote which was just what we needed with our two toddler boys. They loved exploring the property and feeding the horses. It’s extremely hot outside (June) at the house, but there is plenty of shade on the beautiful wrap around patio, and we brought a little blow up pool for the kids. The house is completely cool and comfortable. Bugs were an issue at this time of year, but at the house, Ron has a bug zapper that made sunsets on the porch really enjoyable and mostly bug free. If you are looking for a real getaway and a look into country living, this is. A great spot to experience it. Sequoia was amazing weather in June since t is higher elevation as well. The whole trip was just what we needed and we are so grateful to have had such a lovely place to call home last week. Highly recommend for a family with young kids (who are endlessly fascinated by nature/hikes/cats/horses) or as a romantic getaway or even a great time with friends.

My home is farther from Sequoia National Park than Three Rivers's rentals, but closer to less touristy places in which to experience the sequoias. This listing is good for small families with young children, where you are happy to have 2 simple rooms and share a bath room with your group. I live here; it is not a party rental house. Also, other people may be staying there at the same time.
My home is right in the center of Springville; you can walk to the market and the few restaurants. I will have coffee and/or tea for you, and then you can go to one of the great breakfast places.
Springville is safe and quiet and dark enough at night to see the stars. It's a great base for exploring the mountains and the sequoias, and it is before the winding roads. In the summer you will enjoy the pool and the small village. My house is perfect for visitors because though I am surrounded by acres of cattle land, I am also a two minute walk into town (though "town" is only about two blocks long.) There are two Mexican restaurants, a home cooking cafe, Frank's -- a full bar and restaurant, and a burger place, as well as a small grocery store if you would rather cook.
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Michal's place over Labor Day weekend. My daughter and I stayed in the "family quarters", right off the pool and the outdoor kitchen, which were both super nice and well maintained. My daughter especially loved the pool, jumping off the diving board, sliding down the slide and climbing up to the treehouse deck, which had an amazing, ultra clear view of the stars at night, quite possibly my favorite part of our stay. Michal's home is lovely, filled with warmth and character, and she is a joy to converse with, offering plenty of great, knowledgable suggestions for attractions to check out in the area, as well as places to eat. We'll definitely be back!

  • Michals place was a true gem! I can’t express enough how amazing of a host Michal is! Really read how to get there and follow her directions because you will most likely loose reception! All the places around the area close early and it’s a 25-30 minute drive to Portersville which has everything. Can’t wait to go back and you’re definitely going to want to stay longer!

    Cindy2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for the weekend. Goal was to visit the beautiful trees, do some hiking and relax. Michal's place helped us achieve all that and more! We had two 7 year olds who absolutely loved the pool. Spending the night under stars was wonderful. The great energy of the house/property is definitely an extension of Michal. Such a neat lady and host!

    Denise2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible stay at Michal's. We enjoyed very much the swimming pool and sleeping beyond the stars on the roof top hidden in the tree!

    Rosa2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great weekend at Michal's home! She is a fantastic host and the house is a dream. Michal gave us such great tips and directions to local places - we were able to pack in so much in our 2 nights. The kids would have loved to have stayed at the house forever - the pool, land, treehouse, bookshelves and walk to town made it such a perfect getaway. Michal is so welcoming and inspired us to plan more adventures. SO fun!!

    Memorie2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for three nights and enjoyed it very much. The house is very spacious. Our kids loved playing around the house or in the children's park, which is only a 5 minutes walk away. Michal is a very warm and friendly host who has a lot of good tips for what to see and where to go. Thank you for the nice stay!

    Christian2015-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Was a really great stay of 3 nights. Was nice to 'be' there after room hopping a few nights before. Michal was there for us, with lots of tips to enjoy the neighborhood. Most important for me though was the fact that she is very warm hearted and that is what makes the trip extra special.

    Rijoy2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we had hoped for while trying to explore Sequoia national park/forest. Great location for both. Michal had a whole list of possible things to do in the area, she has vast knowledge of the parks and guided us to the perfect hikes/sceneries. She is very nice and is delightful to talk to, we will cherish our time and conversations always. Her place is beautiful and we would recommend anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to explore the southern Sierras to stay here. Thanks again Michal!

My rentals were never meant to be like a Holiday Inn.
The theme is that of an old western town made for amusement. To take one back to the old west, but we do have running water and electricity, and a hot plate to cook on rather than wood burning stove.
The rentals sit around adjoining ranch properties.
  • It is a beautiful house in a dream place. It was a short time but it was a pleasant experience.

    Alejandro2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay at and really close to all the national parks. Totally worth it :D Just plan to make sure that your phone has AT&T cause only those signals work in that area or plan ahead accordingly.

    Jae2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an escape from cookie-cutter hotels, if you enjoyed the road less traveled, you will absolutely love Alfred’s cowboy and western themed place, which is creatively designed and loaded with genuine antiques everywhere you look! We also enjoyed the fire pit and several meals in the front patio with a view of a sunflower field in full bloom. Randy greeted us and was super hospitable, making some customizations for us and sharing some great day trip recommendations (loved the Stagg Redwood and Balch Park Redwoods!!!!) You get the best of multiple worlds at Alfred’s place because you get a wonderful secluded feel out in the country, you are a 5-minute drive from town (with market, restaurants and gas station, AND YOU ARE A DAY-trip away from the majestic Sequoia Redwood forests!!! Thank you for creating such a wonderful getaway Alfred! Thank you for your hospitality Randy!

    John2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. You can see so many stars, it's amazing. The Milky Way even! Take a break from your phone and enjoy nature! If you are a worrywart like me, be warned that only AT&T phones will work (even in town). Otherwise, it was great to be disconnected for a bit!

    Lauren2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy old-west-style place to spend the night. Perfect for relaxing, you can just sit outside the house, look at the mountains and enjoy the silence. I would have loved to stay longer.

My home is farther from Sequoia National Park than Three Rivers's rentals, but closer to less touristy places in which to experience the sequoias. I live in my home and offer four rooms, each with a queen bed, to guests. The price here is for 3 rooms for 6 people. The 7th person, if a child, may sleep on a mat on the floor for $25 a night more. If you do not book for eight people, someone else may be in the room upstairs. Eight people will need 4 rooms which will cost $460 per night.
You can arrange to sleep on the roof deck under the stars in the summer, walk the labyrinth on my property, swim from mid-May through August, hike behind my house, and get all kinds of ideas of where to go, based on your interests. If you do not rent all four rooms, other guests may be in the house the same time as you are.
  • For the family that loves road trips, we could not have asked for a better place to stay than the home of Michal's. We are a family of seven, who can no longer find adequate accommodations easily, and with our summer road-trip through the Sequoias, we found a home away from home here. She had welcomed our big family in, even when the season was busy, and finding a place was difficult. Her place offered us a warm bed with view of the stars, my parents a cozy retreat, and even an amazing outdoor experience for my boys to sleep under the stars. For any weary travelers, whether small or large, Michal offers a beautiful home that is off the beaten path that is sure to feel like you have escaped the tourist bustle. I could not ask for more. We all would highly recommend this little gem to anybody looking for a night or nights to recharge, recoup, and relax on their journey.

  • Michal's home is gorgeous, secluded and very comfortable. I enjoyed our conversations and the opportunity get to know the other house guests. Would've loved to stay longer. I recommend this spot for small and medium-sized groups. Our family of seven had a great time here. Make sure to take a dip in the pool and stargaze on the observation deck. Don't miss this gem!

  • This was our second stay with Michal having visited from the UK last summer, although this trip we brought the rest of the family with us too! Beautiful, spacious property and an excellent host who is very generous with her time; sharing local knowledge to make sure that you have the best time exploring the area. Thanks Michal!

    Alex2019-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Michal's place was perfect for our trip to see the giant sequoias. Michal is an excellent host who helped us feel welcome. The entire house was available to us. Michal has a lot of experience in the outdoors and shares her knowledge of the area. The house was a good fit for our party of seven. It is clean and comfortable and provides a good nights rest. The table in the kitchen became our morning meeting place to discuss the day's activities over a cup of coffee. And after a long day of touring, the pool was perfect for cooling off. We would use Michal's home without reservation and suggest you do too.

    Jon2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Besides the quality accommodation, you will also get many bonus points: 1. well maintained swimming pool, 2. private uphill trail with great view, 3. creative tree-side loft to watch stars in the night, 4. very helpful local guide. We highly recommend this place.

    Bo2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Michal’s as a group of 5 on New Year’s Eve and had a wonderful time! First, Michal is very responsive, considerate and very hospitable – she made us feel at home in her beautiful house where every corner is a work of art! We were in awe the second we walked in. Michal was staying in the house and celebrated the New Year’s with which we are very happy about because she’s got a great energy and so many great stories! The next day, we drove to the Sequoia Park and spent the entire day there. It was magnificent – we’re still in awe from all the scenery and forests we were so lucky to see on that day. It was a fantastic trip and we’re thankful to Michal for helping us to make it happen! Would recommend staying at Michal's to all.

  • We stayed in the 3 simple rooms which were very comfortable for a family of 5. Plenty of shared space that it was lovely to have access to as well. We met and spent time with fellow guests and the kids enjoyed hanging out in the pool together after dusty hot days hiking or horse riding. Secluded location in proper cattle country, but a couple of great breakfast spots that are just 5 mins walk away plus car access to lots of activities (hiking, riding, big trees to see), as long as you don't mind some windy roads!

I look forward to meeting you!
My home is right in the center of Springville; you can walk to the market and the few restaurants. I will have coffee and/or tea for you, and then you can go to one of the great breakfast places. If your group is more than 2 people you will need to arrange for more rooms My home is at the end of a dirt road in the foothills. The property has many fruit trees so you can have fresh fruit when in season. There are several out door sitting areas and a pool with a slide and diving board. Springville is at the end of a river canyon, so the mountain air drops every night and flushes out the summer heat. There is a full kitchen (with gas and charcoal grill), outside by the pool for guests to use (instead of the house one). Guests may the communal areas. I will have coffee and/or tea for you, and then you can go to one of the great breakfast places. You are not renting a home, but staying with me; I will interact with you as much or as little as you would like. I regularly help people with day options as well as greater travel logistics. You likely found this site because your are interested in Sequoia Park. If you have time, you might want to consider the less touristy options: Trail of 100 Giants (where you can walk on and inside the big trees); the Stagg tree (the 5th largest and 2nd widest tree in the world) on private property -- I can direct you; and the Needles climbing area (unique rock formations, view of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in continental US). There are also fantastic granite swimming holes to explore, though they can be congested during the summer.
My house is perfect for visitors because though I am surrounded by acres of cattle land, I am also a two minute walk into town (though "town" is only about two blocks long.) There are two Mexican restaurants, a home cooking cafe, a hotel bar and restaurant, and a burger place, as well as a small grocery store if you would rather cook.

  • Michal is a great host and knows the area very well, so, if you don't have a program to visit around ;she will tell you the best places to go within your time frame ! The area is great and the pool is wonderful and very welcome after a day trip in the mountains. Michal makes sure you feel confortable at her home. I will be back sometime with the family !

  • Nice house, great host, location is out of the way for the main Sequoia attractions but is good for the more secluded sections of the Sierras. Michal provided us with some great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area (plus she's lovely).

    Daniela2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at Great Energy Too was a lot of fun. I will break it down for you: The house: very country! Very nice with lots of curios and pictures of the host and her travels, artefacts from around the world. Rooms were well kept. Best part: the observation deck above the garage. My kids loved climbing up and down the stairs to it. Oh, and the pool was awesome (though a bit chilly). Cons: lots of spider and spider webs everywhere (it is a country house with a backyard that faces a mountain, after all). But this could be a turn off for the more squeamish. Overall: great place that made me wish for a country home of my own. the host: Michal was a gracious host. She mapped out everything we could possibly due with our families along the 190 and was lovely to talk to. I think she could have been a little more concerned about wood filings that we found at the base of one of our beds (we thought it might be termites, even if our suspicion was unfounded or incorrect, but with an infant in that room weren't taking any chances and switched to another bed. But to wrap it up, she put up with our ethnic cooking and noisy children and piano playing with grace, and for that we're grateful!

  • We had a wonderful stay! Comfortable, private space to stay in as well as some fun common area living space, including an awesome rooftop deck to check out the stars. Great location for getting to Sequoia National, and great recommendations from Michal about what to see and do. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Amanda2015-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was perfect. We traveled to Springville for our anniversary and were more than welcomed by the host who provided a suite for our stay. She offered advice and suggestions without making it feel like choosing other options would be offensive. We visited some nearby trails and the National Park--both perfect in their own right. As per Michal's suggestion we ate dinner at a French restaurant in a small, nearby town--and we were floored by the incredible food & wine. Our two regrets are that we didn't have enough time to continue exploring the area, and that we didn't have enough time to share with our host. As a note to those who are considering this location: be sure to bring some cash for the hiking trails that require parking in facilities. Remember that most food locations around here close early (8pm), so schedule accordingly.

    Emmanuel2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and amazing host. She gave us directions to all nearby hikes. 10/10

  • This place was such a joy to stay at. What purely positive energy there is in springville and in Michal’s home specifically. Definitely use her tips to go see the local attractions up the mountains! We will surely recommend our friends and family to stay here when they come through town!
