Behind a locked gate, this funky, hidden Victorian offers quiet comfort and a private courtyard in center city -- plus our famous homemade fruit salad (and more) for breakfast every morning. Close to downtown, the convention center, the Pearl District, Rose Gardens, concerts, Trader Joe's, the Max train, & Good Samaritan Hospital. Great for couples, conferences, solo adventurers and business travelers. Host Mark grew up in this neighborhood and has lots of great tips to make your trip special.
Big room (there's a smaller one, too). This is a funky Queen Anne Vernacular house built in 1900, with double-hung windows, hardwood floors (outside of the carpeted bedroom), very high ceilings, and amazing molding. We're slowly restoring it but it's not a showplace yet, so I hope you don't mind some chips in the paint and scratches on the floor. If you've owned an older house, you'll understand.
Northwest Portland is one of the oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods in Portland. The city's best art house movie theater is kitty corner, and there are restaurants, sports bars and cute shops all along 23rd and 21st Avenue. The Pearl District is just a few blocks away. Providence Park (where the Portland Timbers play) is about ten blocks away. Washington Park and Forest Park provide literally 20 miles of running and hiking trails. Pioneer Courthouse Square, the center of downtown, is 1.2 miles away, a pleasant walk.
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Airbnb! Hosts are super friendly, kind, helpful and generous! Room was larger than expected and amenities were fantastic! Note to those with rental cars, however. you have to pay for street parking Mon-Sat but they do provide parking permits if needed! Thanks again and totally recommend!

  • Mark is great. Friendly, helpful. The house is cozy and warm, tucked away behind storefronts. Walking distance to everything downtown. Wonderful, relaxing stay.

  • This house is BEAUTIFUL! It’s perfectly tucked away in a great central location. Mark is an AMAZING host who is always happy to answer questions and provide recommendations. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough.

    Kara2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's place is very comfortable, and superbly located in a GREAT neighborhood!! Shops, restaurants, theaters, coffee shops, and great public transportation are right outside your doorstep, yet the house is quiet and secluded behind a locked gate and tucked away safely off the street. The bed was SO comfortable and the hosts were just wonderful, providing all the support I needed during my lengthy 10 day stay. I would definitely stay here again!! thank you Mark and Olga!!

    Veda2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was a wonderful host. He recommended restaurants which ended up going a few times :) We had a wonderful time during our trip to Portland. Thank you so much

    Kaori2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Olga's home is a great place for exploring Portland....and they are both a wealth of information about the area. The home is fantastic (cozy, safe, welcoming)...and the morning coffee is incredible!

    Jen2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Mark was great, the location is amazing! There are so many restaurants and bars within walking distance and also a short Lyft ride or if you are brave enough to take on the street car to downtown. The house its self is hidden, which is pretty cool. Mark was an amazing host, and had great food recommendations that didn't disappoint. We highly recommend!!

Enjoy the Portlandia vibes from the heart of North West Portland. You’ll love the location and the charming front porch swing is perfect for people watching in the Alphabet District. The neighborhood is full of wonderful restaurants, bars and adventure. The space is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. My place is the perfect basecamp for a Portland getaway!
The Alphabet district is a walkers paradise, close to Washington Park, Forest Park, The Rose Gardens, The Japanese Garden and Providence Park where the Timbers play. The apartment is just steps away from trendy 23rd street that has lots of cute shops, trendy restaurants and bars.
  • Emma has a darling home that’s beautifully decorated. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood with several shops/bars/restaurants within walking distance. I had a wonderful stay at her place.

    Scott2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Truly charming and beautiful place to stay. Emma is a wealth of knowledge about the city of Portland and was so warm and accommodating. Thanks Emma!

    Chrissy 2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s place was adorable and just as described. It was my 1st visit to Portland and loved the neighborhood-being close to shops and restaurants on 23rd while super close to the Trader Joe’s! I was even able to enjoy a few hours of relaxation on the front poor on the rocking bench!

    Skylar2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so great! My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend and we loved everything about this place. Also, Emma thought of every detail and is very accommodating! Highly recommend.

    Alexa2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • I just stayed there for the first time and I’d go back in a heartbeat! It’s the most adorable apartment, inside a beautiful Victorian home in a great area of Portland, perfect for solo travel (which is what I was doing) and I’d imagine it would also be great for a couple. Very comfortable and stylish and full of thoughtful amenities and touches to make you feel welcomed. The bed was comfortable and with really nice pillows and linens and the towels were nice and plentiful. In the bedroom, Emma has provided earplugs, which is a great idea (there’s definitely noise outside but it’s not bad and I didn’t need them). You might also need an eyemask if light bothers you, as the curtains aren’t quite enough to block out the light. A Trader Joe’s grocery store across the street couldn’t be more perfectly located. There are a lot of restaurants and pubs nearby too. I highly enjoyed Joseph’s artisan bakery and the Salt and Straw ice cream shop really does have the most amazing ice cream! Easy walking distance to a lot of great stuff from here, and yet also a great place to just sit a spell on the comfy rocker swing on the front porch and listen to the busker playing flute across the street in front of the grocery store.

    Rachael2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful clean space that was the perfect landing pad for the weekend. Felt more like staying in a hotel sans TV than a typical Airbnb experience, which worked out wonderfully for me. Keyless entry was a breeze, and eliminated the need to coordinate check-in/out with Emma. I especially loved this b/c my schedule didn't need to be set. The location wa super convenient. There are trendy coffee shops, bars, and restaurants in every direction, and of course, Trader Joe's being across the street was super convenient. I stocked up on snacks for the drive back to Seattle. There are a few notes that I'd like to pass along for future guests to keep in mind that were a bit of a surprise. These did not negatively impact my stay or rating, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. - Parking is no longer free, and can be a bit of challenge because the neighborhood is quite popular. However, I seemed to always find a space within 3 blocks of apartment any time I needed to re-park. Meters are enforced Mon-Sat 9am-7pm ($1.60/hr as of Nov 2017), and can be paid for 4hrs at a time with CC. (e.g. I paid the meter on Sat right at 9am in my PJs, then went back to bed for an hour. Got back up. Went to brunch nearby before having to pay the meter again.) - Kitchen is actually just a hotplate, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, sink, and largish mini-fridge. This was totally fine for me, since I rarely cook when visiting Portland because most meals are eaten out with friends or family. - Shower/tub area has a lower ceiling than the rest of the apartment, so the shower head is low as well. This is only noticeable if you're on the taller side of the spectrum. I'm 5'9" and fit in the tub to take a shower just fine. I did need bend to get my head under the shower head when washing my face and hair. For those with long hair, it would also be good to note that the water pressure isn't amazing.

    Kira2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a fantastic location.

    Todd2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how convenient the location was! The apartment was a great option for us as we spent most of our time out exploring the area. It’s definitely in the middle of a busy neighborhood, so be prepared with earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The hubbub didn’t bother us, though. We love the sounds of the city! Emma was a great host and communicated with us quickly when we had questions. We will certainly try to book again for a short weekend.

Room #6, a favorite among our repeat guests, is a corner room on the top floor of the Guesthouse. It has 1 queen bed and carries a maximum capacity of 2 people. This room has two large windows, a side table and chair, small closet, an upholstered chair and plenty of floor space for two people. One bath, with large, walk-in shower, is on the same floor as this room. Room #6 is on the top floor of the guesthouse, which is up 2 sets of stairs (with handrails, carpeted & approx. 12 steps).
We offer European-style accommodations for the budget minded, independent traveler. Our facilities include six private and comfortable bedrooms that share three full baths. Ideally located in the heart of Portland’s most charming and vibrant neighborhood, travelers can easily walk to myriad shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Japanese Garden and Washington Park, or hike over 40 miles of trails in Portland’s Forest Park, the largest natural urban park in the US. Portland International Guesthouse is just a short walk to the Portland Streetcar and MAX light rail with direct service to the airport and 1 block from two bus lines serving downtown. The Portland International Guesthouse consistently ranks as one of the most highly rated guesthouses in Portland. Our facility is entirely non-smoking/no vaping. That includes anything with a flame - i.e., candles, incense, etc. Due to the nature of the guesthouse, we do not allow pets or children under 5.
The Guesthouse is located in Portland's historic Alphabet District also known as Nob Hill. Our neighborhood is the city's most charming and vibrant. We are within walking distance or a short transit ride Downtown, the Pearl District, Powell's Books and most of Portland's major cultural institutions. One can meander through the neighborhood streets lined with Victorian homes, NW 23rd and 21st Avenues lined with shops and restaurants or walk up to Washington Park and the amazing Japanese Gardens. From there, it is possible to access over 40 miles of hiking trails. Some of the Portland's best restaurants, coffee houses and cinemas are only a few blocks away.
  • Great spot within walking distance to numerous restaurants and bars. Extremely clean AirBnb. Only issue was at times you can hear other guests but nothing that kept me from sleeping.

    Benjamin2018-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The room was great and although bathrooms are shared, they were really clean. Quiet stay and bed was very comfortable. Their amenities are great too. Location is walking distance from a lot of cool downtown stuff but of course rideshare still needed to be used as it does during travel!

    Xiaopan2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse is well organized, very clean and the Neighborhoods are beautiful. Nice Shops and Restaurants and the Rose Garden is a „must see“ in Portland!

We're a village of historic buildings in the vibrant Nob Hill area of Portland. You would have a bed in a 4-bed dorm in our main building, hand-rolled bagel breakfast included. You have access to a full kitchen and common areas to mingle with guests from all over the world. A few blocks to popular shops, cafes, pubs & the city's best restaurants. Walk to most attractions, including downtown, outdoor markets, Pearl District, Powells Books, Rose and Japanese Gardens (short bus or 1/2 hour walk).

  • This adorable studio is clean, efficient, and in an unbeatable location! The apartment is within walking distance of dozens of coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. Couldn't imagine a better place to stay for a week in Portland.

    Victoria2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great with plenty of places nearby and easy access to the Portland public transportation.

    Chris2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little studio, very sparse but with the amenities that matter (white noise machine, great towels, hair dryer). Took a little jiggling to get the door locked/unlocked. Good location with lots of nice spots to eat nearby

    Kennedy2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is a wonderful spot right in NW Portland with lots to do and see around! Anastasia is a wonderful host and gave us great recommendations for places to eat and drink around the city! Would definitely stay here again!

    Drew2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is in a perfect area for exploring portland. There are bus and streetcar stops just outside for taking you into downtown, or other parts of the city. All within a very short walk from the flat are loads of bars, restaurants and shops to explore. The flat was clean, with a comfy bed and good shower! Communication was also very easy, and Anastasia was great with local suggestions. Thanks again.

    Nadia2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location was pretty unbeatable - right by a great donut place, ice cream, and some amazing restaurants! The apartment itself was cozy and comfortable with all the amenities we needed to be a great home base.

    Jamie2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was incredible! Amazing location close to so many restaurants and shops. It was so convenient and Anastasia was a great host! There is a parking pass if you have a rental car which was also a great amenity. It was surprisingly very quiet despite being right above a sports bar and gelato shop. We both slept great and although the shower can only fit one at a time, what it lacks in size it makes up for in luxury. Two shower heads and nice big fluffy towels to dry off. I recommend exploring 23rd street and if you have a car getting out on the historic waterfall route just outside of Portland.

    Brian2016-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My favorite aspect of this was the location. We walked around the neighborhood in the mornings, enjoying the houses, flowers, shops, and restaurants. So fun to be in this neighborhood!

Third floor suite in the historic Isam White House. Includes bed area, living and dining area, kitchenette with microwave, hot water kettle, dishes and small fridge and private bathroom with tub/shower. This is one of the last grand mansions downtown that hasn't been converted to condos or offices. We are at the shopping and restaurant districts of Northwest 21st and 23rd Avenues. Walkability score of 97!
The Large studio is half of the old ballroom on the third floor of this home. It's been modernized with a brand new bathroom and kitchenette. We also have a smaller suite available in the same home and each has their own private AC/heat. The upstairs hall has a station with tea, Hershey’s kisses, instant coffee (not trying to compete with Ken’s bakery on same block!) and additional toiletries. The room at the top of the stairs without the electronic lock has a larger garbage can if you want to empty your smaller one into and this is also where the iron and ironing board is stored. Don’t get tempted by the washer and dryer, they are not hooked up or part of the listing yet!
Northwest Portland, Nob Hill, also known as the Alphabet District offers sophisticated shopping, dining and people-watching. Victorians, Colonial Mansions, boutiques and restaurants line the streets of this neighborhood that's ideal for leisurely strolls, while the adjoining Forest Park was made for hikes.
  • Great stay. Great place. Very happy

  • Richard was super responsive, the place is great, super well located. My family and I had a great time there.

  • Wow, guys. You will want to stay here. Such a cool house and pretty garden, a ten minute walk from The Vault cocktail bar on 12th and Everett. Do yourself a favor and go here! The interior space is very clean, mid century modern touches in the main space (Apt 2), lots of hot water (and shampoo/body wash) for the shower, controllable temp, a mini fridge, a decent bed, and a loooooong couch to lounge on. My Sasquatch-sized (6’3’’) boyfriend was able to stretch out on it quite nicely. Richard was wicked fast responding to us throughout and kindly allowed us to stow our luggage in the alcove post-checkout so we weren’t stuck schlepping our stuff while we waited for our train to leave at 7pm. I will happily stay here again. :)

    Claire2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This suite is very spacious and clean, the bed is comfortable, the room is quiet and the location is extremely convenient to visit Pearl district as well as Downtown. The info provided by the host was precise and timely, which made check-in and check-out very easy and quick. Certainly recommended.

  • Our best Airbnb stay so far. Very nice studio in historic house. Nice neighborhood with relaxed feel and various food options. You need to climb quite a lot of stairs though. Make sure you don’t have huge suitcases, etc.

  • I loved the cozy and pleasant space of Olivia’s condo! It was a sanctuary for me to retreat for rest and rejuvenation. Olivia was thorough, clear and responsive in communication. I appreciate Olivia answering all my questions. Olivia was gracious in accommodating my late arrival, and prompt in addressing any requests I had. I appreciated the thoughtful touches: refreshments and snacks for my arrival, fully-stocked kitchen, colorful touches in decor. The condo is within minutes walk to shops, restaurants, parks, public transportation. I very much enjoyed my time in Portland, thanks to Olivia’s warm hospitality and lovely space!

    Tina2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Olivia's place for 3 months while working in Portland, and I couldn't have asked for a better base to explore Portland. The NW neighborhood is amazing, and so is the Pearl. Please make sure to visit the Commissary Cafe right across the street - awesome coffee and brunch items. The condo has a large kitchen and is nicely arranged in terms of using the space. Can highly recommend it as a temporary home while staying in Portland!

  • I stayed at Olivia’s condo for approx. 1 month. The condo is clean, tidy and cosy. The kitchen is big for size of the condo and it was stocked with some essential dry food. Olivia and partner were helpful in making sure my stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Neighbours in the apartment block are polite and friendly. The condo is located in Pearl district with lots of vintage shops to explore. The condo is within walking distance (If you like walking) to the Rose Garden, Powell Bookshop and Down-town Portland. I would stay in this homely condo again.

    LeRae2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Allow me to explain why I gave this cute little pad four stars rather than five. First, this is a wonderful little apt, and Olivia had everything in place to make it a lovely stay... Everything was great, including the bed, the kitchen appliances, and the atmosphere. BUT, we had two problems that made us depart before our stay was completed: -- not her fault at all was a heat wave that rarely hits this area! The apt had no air conditioning -- unbearably hot!!! To make it worse, -- the apt is on the ground floor and due to no screens and insects coming in, we could not open windows, except in the kitchen for very short periods. It was HOT, HOT, HOT!! If it were not for that, the apt was absolutely wonderful, clean, a great location! Just don't go near this place in the summer.

Cozy studio for two right in the heart of beautiful NW portland. Surrounded by restaurants/ bars/ shopping. Five minute walk to the beautiful forest park which homes portlands famous rose garden. Ten minute walk to the MAX train which will take you directly to and from the airport. Also right next to Trader Joe's for all your grocery needs!
The location is very ideal. You can walk to anything you need or would like to see. It also offers a full kitchen if you feel like staying in to cook.
  • Great stay!

    Melinda2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, walking distance to everything but on a quiet street. The space is cute and simple, just an easy place to land after exploring Portland all day. We were really only there to sleep, but it was nice that it was so close to everything we wanted to do.

    Emily2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. Great location, very convenient. My only complaint is the noise from the major construction going on right outside the bedroom window. It would have been nice to be notified about that ahead of time. Luckily, the construction We didn't get the house. I guess we're next in line if the offer falls through. The offer that won the bid was waaaay above asking price, like almost 600,000. The sellers almost picked our offer bc they thought we were more likely to follow through. So, the search continues... for the weekend.

  • Shalei was a very communicative, friendly, and thoughtful host who offered some great recommendations of things to do in Portland. Her apartment is very clean and spacious with a welcoming and light aesthetic. The neighbourhood is very central and has some great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Would happily stay here again!

    Emma2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Shalei's place was perfect for our couple's getaway. The location is great and is located in the middle of everything that we wanted to check out. There is a Walgreens that is walking distance which was convenient for us! I definitely recommend this spot!

    Joyce2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Shalei made it very easy for us to check-in. The studio was comfortable and very close to NW 23rd street where all the restaurants and bars are.

    Harleen2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Shalei’s place was the perfect place to stay if you want to explore 23rd and the surrounding areas. Even downtown is walkable, if you don’t mind stretching your legs. The unit itself is as described: a cozy studio with some nice personal touches from the host. Check in and out was a breeze.

    Jordan2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, comfy bed, cute decor, perfect for one or two people. The building is older which lends the space a lot of charm (antique phone on the wall!) and the quirks of older construction (not silent or perfectly climate controlled.) Worked well for me while I was in town 2 nights for work.

  • Great place for a girls weekend! Great location, close to good shopping and great restaurants! Everything you could need is provided and the beds/pillows were very comfortable.

  • Very cool place, very cool neighborhood. Walking distance to so much, great amenities and decorations in the space. Parking is a plus. Only downside is that the upstairs neighbor is a night owl with creaky floors.

    Paloma2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great space for groups and easy private parking; proximity to downtown is a plus and area is quiet and very walkable.

  • Adrian was a great host! He was helpful with suggestions and instructions! His house was adorable and in a great location! He had plenty of towels and blankets for us! Also had lotions, soaps, toothpaste, anything we might need while we stayed! Will definitely come back!

    Jenna2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very attentive and quick to respond by text. Other than that he left me alone, which was great. I enjoyed my stay at Adrian's and it was reasonably priced for the area. The mostly private back deck was a wonderful bonus.

    Chris2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian gave very clear check-in instructions and was great about giving updates prior to check-in. The house was in great condition, in walking distance to restaurants and shops, and very comfortable! We had a wonderful stay and definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Portland!

You’ll love our comfortable 4th floor studio in NW Portland. It’s the perfect base for exploring Portland, whether you’re here for an extended vacation or work trip. We’re located between the Pearl District and NW 23rd – two of the trendiest areas.
You’ll love our comfortable fourth floor studio in NW Portland. It’s the perfect base for exploring Portland, whether you’re here for an extended vacation or work trip. The condo is perfect for one or two people and has a large kitchen and bath. It’s fully furnished with all the comforts of home - since it's our home away from home when we are in Portland. :) The building is secure with keyed entry, and has an elevator to get you up to the fourth floor. There is also coin-op laundry in the building. The condo is fully furnished. While it's a small studio, there is plenty of room for you to relax (and get work done if you have to) - we have couch, a comfy sitting chair, a desk and bench, a smart TV and wifi. The bed is a murphy bed so if you do feel like you need more space, you can put it up. And on either side of the bed is a full bookshelf with more shelving and baskets for clothing, shoes, etc. behind them. We also have bike hooks on the ceiling in case you bring or rent a bike.
We’re located between the Pearl District and NW 23rd – two of the trendiest areas in Portland. Great restaurants, bars and shopping are all close by.
  • Thank you, Hannah! My company booked Hannah's apartment for an employee who was traveling to Portland for a 6 month stint. The employee enjoyed the apartment so much that she chose to stay at Hannah's for another 6 months when we extended her contract. It's in a great location in NW Portland and an easy walk to the Pearl district. Hannah was quick to communicate on any building work, etc and helped make our employee's year long stay a wonderful one!

    Elaine2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah is a Great Host. She respond's instantly for any queries. One thing I loved about the place is that there is a Street Car just in front on the apartment. Regards, Satishkumar.RC Bangalore city,Karnataka State, INDIA

  • Hannah was a wonderful host and her studio was beautiful. The apartment was in a great location with tons of restaurants and things to do near by. Public transportation is an ease to get to. The studio has everything that anyone could need and the other tenants in the building were very friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here as a guest for any duration of time!

    Joshua2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Being a first time user, Hannah was a great first host. On top of answering all our questions about her rental, she also helped guide us through the rental process and direct us to the right places when our questions went beyond her scope of AirBnb. The apartment was adorable and in a fantastic location. Super walk-able location and across the street from a streetcar stop.

    Lydia2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah's apartment was great. Located in a nice neighbourhood, 25 minutes walking distance to downtown. The apartment has good ventilation and heat. There were no problems during my stay: the internet connection was fast and Hannah was available everytime I needed something. There was a fire in the building which caused my move out earlier that agrred but that was beyond Hannah's responsability. Thanks a lot!

    Rosario2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying at Hannah’s place for over a month. Cute small place, very similar to the photos. My first time living with a Murphy bed- definitely makes a difference once it’s folded up. The area is great! Not too noisy and close enough to all the cool spots in the area.

  • I stayed here for a month while I was working in Portland. The location can't be beat and the apartment is small but awesome! Communication with Hannah was great :)

Situated in between two of the top areas of Portland, the Pearl District and the Northwest Alphabet District, the biggest problem you'll find is what great restaurant, bar, etc to try next! It may be a micro-apartment, but my studio is efficient and has everything you need for someone on the go and ready to explore Portland. Only a couple blocks East is 10-Barrel and all the Pearl District and Brewery Blocks have to offer. While only a few blocks north is the famous NW 21st & NW 23rd.
A recently built and renovated ADU includes stainless steel appliances, new countertops and fixtures, and a stand up shower. With new plumbing, electrical, and a dedicated large water heater, you will never have a problem staying here! Relax on the amazing memory foam queen bed and take in your favorite shows on the 50in brand new 4K HDTV with Cable and Netflix included.
Location. Location. Location. Right in between the Pearl District and Northwest Alphabet District, my place has endless options for Dinner, Drinks, or whatever your heart desires. Take a stroll down the 3 blocks to the Brewery Blocks for beer and burger, or walk up the 4 blocks to some of the best restaurants the NW district has to offer.
  • Great location and it is exactly as advertised

  • Aj was a great host, let us have an early check in and communication was great. Location was perfect within walking distance to everything.

  • Location! Walking distance to different neighbors i.e. Pearl district and Nob hill. Parking near by was not much of a challenge and there is an enterprise 2 blocks away. It is a small front apartment, not great air flow (there is AC). Quiet street. AJ was a wonderful host and quick to reply.

    Amy2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Location= 10/10 Had a short visit to PDX and AJ’s place was the perfect location to eat all the local eats and check out the Pearl District. Pleasantly surprised at how walkable it is. I appreciated all of the food recommendations AJ provided. Place has everything you need and good for a single or couple to stay. AJ’s communication and hospitality were top notch and I can see why he is a Super Host.

Built in 1899, my little ground floor studio is in the heart of Portland, between the city's top shopping and dining streets, NW 23rd and NW 21st. Enjoy a private entrance, private bathroom, a cozy work/eat nook, a kitchen with a gas range, fridge, coffee maker, private Wi-fi and a 42" TV with Netflix.
Located in an estate built in 1899, this 280 square foot studio features a private bath, queenbed, a work/dining nook and Victorian charm. It's on the ground floor reached by a short flight of stairs to a private entrance and it looks out on to a green private yard, a rarity in this neighborhood.
This studio sits between Portland's most fashionable shopping and dining streets, NW 21st and 23rd, affectionately known as "trendy third." You are steps from amazing food and entertainment but tucked away from traffic facing a quiet backyard.
  • Stopped in just for an evening and had a nice time here. The suite was easy to locate, and we appreciated having a parking spot for the evening. It was easy to walk to food, morning coffee and tourist things!

    Stephanie2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet & comfortable space for 2 people. Convenient location in nice neighborhood within easy walking distance to many cafes, restaurants, stores, and the soccer stadium. Brian was very hospitable, storing our luggage before check-in & after check-out. Would definitely stay there again.

    Beth2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great time in PDX. Place is in a great location, walking distance from pretty much anything. Studio was cozy and kept us warm in the chilly weather. Brian is a superb communicator and responded quick.

  • A great location with convenient parking if you have a car. You can Walk to the Alphabet District for food and shopping. Brian was always quick to respond with any questions. A place we will stay again.

  • A great place for two people looking to find great shopping and dining right where you are staying.

    Jason2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brian's place was awesome! It was definitely very cute and cozy. Very close to 23rd on one end and another set of places on the other side (and so close to a Trader Joe's). Parking was easy and convenient, which was helpful because so much was walkable! Brian was always very responsive. We felt like true locals even if it was just for a couple of days. Will definitely try to stay at Brian's again the next time we're in Portland!

    Melanie2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Close to a lot of good restaurants and bars. Also loved the Japanese garden nearby.

    Scott2018-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Brian's studio is cozy and an interesting mix of historic and modern amenities. The studio is in an older building with creaky wood floors (make sure you take your shoes off!), separate hot/cold faucets, and pretty thin walls. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, you might want to bring earplugs. However, the studio is equipped with very fast wifi, netflix, all new furniture (great firm bed), and really lovely smelling shampoo+body soap! He also has a digital lock so its convenient if you have a late checkin. Parking passes are also provided and we had no problem finding parking on the street. Brian himself is amazing- very helpful and quick to answer any questions you may have. He's new at this so there's a few kinks that need to be worked out but I know that they'll be addressed the next time we stay here :)

  • We had a wonderful time in Portland and greatly enjoyed this great little apartment. The place is bright and pretty and the location can't be beat. Brad was extremely helpful and thoughtful and he was always quick to respond to any and all inquiries. I highly recommend this to anyone.

    Emma2013-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great spacious studio in the heart of Portland. A walk away from cafes, restaurants, and parks. Easy access to the freeway to quickly get to other areas of the city.

    Jennica2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brad's place was just fantastic! I was a bit concerned going in about the size of the unit, but the studio (+ kitchen) was the perfect amount of space for my boyfriend and me (both in our early 30s) and our 4-night stay in Portland. Everything was clean and up-to-date, and Brad provided us with everything we might need during our stay (plenty of towels, toiletries, etc.). The in-unit washer/dryer was a big plus. The location could not have been any better: just a quick walk over the highway put us in the heart of the Pearl District with numerous restaurants, shops, and breweries to keep us entertained. It was also a short car ride away from Washington Park and other neighborhoods surrounding the metro area. Bonus: an Enterprise Rental Car location is about 50 feet from the front door for those looking to rent a car for additional traveling. Brad was exceptionally communicative before our trip and gave great recommendations on his favorite local spots -- I just wish we had had time to visit them all! When we eventually come back to the City of Roses, I hope Brad is still renting this unit, because we would 100% stay here again. This definitely checks all of the boxes for a fun trip to Portland!

    Kelly2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was so easy to communicate with. We felt very safe in his studio. The location is perfect and so close to just about everything. Not to mention the 'grocery mart' below the building is convenient for any last minute needs (we forgot phone chargers). We walked almost everywhere or it's a short Uber/Lyft ride over to the other side of town. His studio is clean and perfect size for two. Would definetely recommend his place to any weekend travelers!

    Katie2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brad's place was perfect for my overnight stay in Portland. After a long day of meetings, Brad's place was the perfect oasis. It was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There was also a rental car place just outside the building which was perfect to secure a car for my drive to Eugene. The check-in, check-out process was very simple and smooth. Brad was able to accommodate a flexible check-in time which was extremely helpful. Great spot!

    Bev2016-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is in a great location and Brad was kind enough to let us check in early. We had a great time in Portland. The unit is close to many restaurants and shops.

MUST LOVE DOGS! We are offering a private bedroom in our apartment, which is on the 3rd floor of a big house in Nob Hill/Northwest neighborhood. The neighborhood is super walkable, and there are tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, and recreation options close by. We love living here, and we are happy to share our space! Our space will be a great option for you if you love dogs and are looking for an affordable place to stay in the heart of PDX.
Our apartment is neither fancy nor updated, but it is comfortable and cozy and in a super convenient location. It's also relatively quiet for being right in the heart of the city. Our guest room has a private deck with a small table and two chairs. Perfect for summer evenings! We have a very large dog who is vocal at times (usually just upon your arrival - she's very calm and quiet a majority of the time). We do our best to make sure she does not interfere with your stay, and most guests love her. We want you to be happy and comfortable here, and we ask that you only stay here if you are okay with large dogs.
Fantastic location in the Northwest/Nob Hill neighborhood. Within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, cafes, doughnut shops, ice cream shops, etc. 10 minute walk to downtown, Powells' books, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and other Pearl District stops. If you want to get out in nature, Washington Park and Forest Park are also close by, within walking distance.
  • Just gonna start by saying Murphy is the sweetest fluff ball. Jess and Chris were super helpful and accommodating host, and they have an interesting, unique home. the room has it's own deck with a solid view and lots of natural sunlight all throughout. In addition, the apartment location allows easy access into downtown Portland, and they even refer you to fun and interesting places to eat and sights to see. Overall a wonderful experience, and wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again!

    Will2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica and Chris are wonderful hosts! The guest room is lovely and Murphy (the dog) is such a sweetheart. The location is very walkable.

  • Location is superb, everything is within walking distance. Appartment is nice and cozy. The room itself is spaceous and we loved the (private) deck. The shared bathroom is beautiful! The dog is very big and can be a bit intimidating at first sight, but is actually a teddy bear that would never hurt a fly :)

  • Great little spot. Fabulous location near lots of restaurants, cafes, etc. Gorgeous private balcony attached to the room. Jessica and Chris were very friendly and accommodating. Awesome spot!

    Erica2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica and Chris are amazingly friendly, helpful hosts! If you ask for food or sightseeing recommendations, they’ll definitely help you out. The space is very cozy and quiet, the stairs are a bit steep so be prepared for that. Lastly, even if you don’t like dogs... you’ll love Murphy!

    Dex2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Trinity Attic is a wonderful space to stay if you are visiting Portland. The space is a cute Pinterest wonderland and very comfortable. Jessica is an amazing host, meeting us with her beautiful dog Murphy when we first checked in. She provided maps and suggestions of sights to see and really made us feel welcome! 10/10 would stay again.

    Tina2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay with Jessica and Chris. Murphy and pals barked (hello stranger) but they were very well behaved. Everything is as described. The neighborhood is central and walkable with convenient access to public transport. Chris recommended walking--instead of waiting for a bus--to the rose garden was spot on. Jessica was kind to accommodate on check-in and check-out time. I enjoyed our conversation during breakfast and walking.

Hello! I'm glad you're here - welcome! In addition to my beautiful condo being close to Washington Park, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Zoo, Arboretum, Downtown, Pearl District, MAC Club, NW 23rd, it is also FRESHLY deep cleaned! AND no longer on the market meaning no realtor showings (nevermind review noting those 2 frustrations). You'll love the unit! xo m
Cozy and clean, fresh, modern, private and perfect for your Portland experience. You won't find anything better!
Very colloquial, feels like old world Europe but with all the modern amenities, access and passability.
  • The location of Meris' place is wonderfully convenient. The condo is located right on 23rd, which is an extremely popular street for shops, restaurants, light rail, bus stops, etc. I walked a mile to work every day, and there is a bus stop right outside of the condo. As for the kitchen, I had to purchase my own coffee maker, kitchen knife, pots and pans, paper towels, trash bags, and soap as the kitchen was quite minimal. There were pots and pans available, but they were in very poor shape so I elected to purchase better ones. Although the kitchen is quite minimal, there are many delicious restaurants within walking distance if one chooses not to cook. The bedroom is lovely. The king sized bed is very comfy, and between the radiator and the down comforter, I was plenty warm during the Portland winter. I recommend ear plugs, as the bedroom wall sits adjacent to the door entrance, and the radiator can sometimes clank and be loud -- a small price to pay for heavenly warmth. Meris communicated well. She was a good host and great communicator. She often gave plenty of notice prior to realtor showings - which I appreciated. I also appreciated the free laundry room within the building. Overall, great place, convenient location.

    Diana2018-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Meris is incredibly friendly and quick with communication. Place is located in beautiful classic building on top of a large hill.

    Eugene2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place close to nw23rd which has restaurants and shops. We were there to go to a Thorns soccer game and couldn't have had a better location. Be careful when shopping at Zupans- the place is AMAZING. Maris' place is quaint, quiet and comfy. Not a lot of shelf room in the bathroom for getting ready but lots of mirrors around the apartment. Didn't cook so can't comment on kitchen supplies. No coffee pot but with so many fantastic coffee shops so close (B Street is good and so is Sterling) you won't want to make coffee in.

    Jodi2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This condo is in a great location in an awesome building with lots of history. It was very convenient to be able to pop down to the market everyday, and there are some great shops and restaurants in close proximity. I used to live over the hills in Beaverton and the 23rd Street/Nobb Hill neighborhoods were always some of my favorites to visit. We flew in from San Jose and didn’t rent a car - but we didn’t miss one! The building’s location was great for Trimet access, and between MAX, the street car, and Lyft we were able to easily get to anywhere we needed to go. Overall good place to stay and see Portland for a few days. Thanks Meris!

    Erin2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Meris is wonderful, she was very friendly and made sure to check on us while we were there so make sure everything was okay. Her condo is very cozy and in a wonderful location. Large open windows to allow a nice breeze to flow in and the bed was extremely comfy! It was almost hard to get out of bed early just because I felt so relax ; ) It's Near the Japanese garden and Oregon zoo and only 10 mins from downtown. Unfortunately I had a little accident and got a stain on her bathroom rug. I felt terrible and tried to get it out but Meris was so nice about it. Had a wonderful experience here and can't wait to come back to Portland.

    Alyshia2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Meris was fantastic. Great communicator. The condo was beautiful & spotless. Went above & beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable stay.

    David2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed a Meris’ home for the past 3 months. My stay overall was good, but the easiest way to type of this review is a ‘good and not so good’ list. THE GOOD: The location of this home is perfect. It’s walkable to everything you could need! Including some really amazing coffee shops and dozens of bars and restaurants. It’s also within walking distance of 3 grocery stores, which was very nice when I couldn’t use my car. You get downtown living without the downtown noise. The street itself the condo is on is beautiful, quiet, and just a few steps down you get amazing views of the city. The laundry room is one floor below the apartment and is kept very nice and clean. And there is no extra cost for laundry! Meris was always able to answer any questions and quick to help resolve any issues that arose. The building the condo is in is gorgeous, historical, and very well maintained. I met multiple neighbors throughout my stay and everyone was very nice and easy to talk to. THE NOT SO GOOD: I booked this place about a month in advance knowing that I was going to drive 2,500mi across the country and needed a place that I could park my car in. I was not told until a few days before check-in that my car would probably not fit in the garage... Not exactly something I wanted to deal with as I literally moved across the country. THANKFULLY my car just fit (literally, my front bumper was essentially touching the wall and I had maybe an inch to close the garage door), but I was unable to really use my car to get to and from work like I had planned because it was so difficult to get in and out of the garage. The other thing that was not previously mentioned to me before move in, is that the owner has been attempting to sell the apartment for awhile. I tried to be as accommodating as possible, but biweekly showings and/or an open house got very old, very fast. Lastly, do make note. There is not air conditioning in the building. This was fine Feb-April, but we’ve had some pretty hot days in the beginning of this month (May). It wasn’t horrible, but it’s definitely something I’m not used to!

    Halie2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Meris is a wonderful host, who goes the extra mile to ensure that your stay at her place is both comfortable and stress-free. Her place has nice touches like the lamps, candles and inspirational quotes. The location is wonderful, if you enjoy walking then this spot is in the right zone for you to get to on foot. My wife and I walked all over Portland from Meris' pad. It has a grocery store nearby, coffee spots, Washington Park right behind and all these wonderful food spots. We had a great time! Thank you Meris!

Very convenient studio located three blocks from The Pearl District and a few blocks from NW 21st Ave and NW 23rd Ave. Also very close to Good Sam Hospital. Portland Streetcar stops in front of the building. Possible parking space available for an additional fee.
Besides the main room which has a queen bed, reclining leather love seat, and 65” TV, there is a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, oven, and microwave.
There are numerous restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. The Portland Street Car stops right in front of the building. The Portland Pearl District is a short four blocks away.
  • Johns place was perfect for short to medium term stay. Located just a short walk from many restaurants, cafes and bars of the Alphabet and Pearl Districts. The local light rail runs right outside. The accommodation was very clean, newly renovated clean. John was easy to communicate with and happy to help in any way. It was also great to have a parking space for our car - as it was convenient and quick to access nature outside of the city with highways close by. We enjoyed our month long stay!

    Alisha2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is a great value -- especially given the fantastic location and the inclusion of parking. I was in town for family medical reasons and booked John's place as a backup in case I needed it. I didn't end up using the place, but appreciated John's continued efforts to accommodate my frequently changing plans, his responsiveness to my inquiries and his generosity of spirit. There's a reason that he's a superhost. I look forward to returning strictly for fun, as this would be a great home base for enjoying all that makes Portland special.

  • The queen bed is definitely not a queen and the sofa bed feels like you’re sleeping on metal bars. Other than three nights of virtually no sleep for the family. It was a decent location

    Lynn2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was ok. Nice apartment and clean. Don't book if you plan on having a car. I paid over $50 to park my car for 2 days. No clear instructions on finding a place to park.

ArtFulLife is a long-term furnished rental situated just 75 feet off NW 23rd, Portland’s iconic neighborhood street. An easy walk to the streetcar (3 blocks), to the Pearl District to downtown, Washington Park, and much much more. It is all best experienced without a car!
Life on a Higher Level ArtFulLife is a main-floor flat in the same charming 1886 home as ArtFulLife and shares its unique art-filled aesthetic. Converted from what were the home’s original parlor rooms, ArtFulLife features a separate bedroom, partitioned off from the living room by a set of French doors. The bedroom window looks out over the building’s front porch to the street. The unit features 10’ ceilings in the bathroom and 9’ ceilings in the other two rooms, original Bay windows, and a gas fireplace believed to be original (however, the gas is shut off). It also has a 1940s kitchenette that has been modernized with Ikea modifications and new appliances. A retro 50s sofa, designer chairs, Mid-Century floor lamp, wooden blinds, and a TV stand that began its life as a library cart round out the eclectic, comfortable furnishings. As for the art, you’ll see it everywhere throughout the flat, and it’s as interesting and unique as the furniture. Reflecting a wide variety of styles and cultures, the collection includes a large painting from Mexico as well as interesting conversation pieces that have caught my eye over the years. The house itself sits in the heart of Portland’s historic Alphabet District and is situated just 50 feet off 23rd Avenue, one of Portland’s iconic shopping streets. Built in 1888 and converted to a duplex 20 years later, it was transformed into a sleeping house in 1940 for the war effort and to support Portland’s shipyards. Today it has nine separate, self-contained units. It’s an active, vibrant place, full of personality, with a clean, colorful décor that’s funky without the funk. If you’re a history buff, you’ll appreciate knowing that the Alphabet District is a unique community named for its alphabetic progression of street names, and was added to the National Register of Historic Districts in 2000. A bastion of urban upstarts, it was home to Portland’s first neighborhood association formed over 40 years ago. It’s also known by the names Nob Hill, or simply Northwest Portland, and the shops and eateries here have always been among the best in the city. In addition, ArtFulLife II is only two blocks from the 23rd and Lovejoy light rail stop, making it an easy ride to/from the airport. You’ll find plenty of great activity options just a short stroll away. At ArtfulLife, you’ll be surrounded by the interesting and unconventional both inside and out. It’s the perfect way to experience one of the most exciting and inspiring cities in the country. If you will have a car let us know before you arrive! NW Portland has very strict parking rules so ask about on site parking for $175 a month when available. Please do not arrive at ArtFulLife with a car without having made arrangements. NW Portland has strict parking (metered during the day and by permit only at night).
ArtFulLife is situated about 75 feet off NW 23rd, Portland iconic shopping and eating street. From this location it is an easy walk to the streetcar (3 blocks away), to the Pearl District (10 blocks away), to downtown (1 mile), Washington Park (less than a mile - up a hill), and much much more. It is all best experienced without a car!
  • Great location, steps from amazing shops, food, and Salt and Straw. Cute flat in an old craftsman. Exactly what we were looking for for our stay in Portland.

    Marcus2016-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect. Keys and combination to lock box easy to find and use. The flat was charming and clean. The art was colorful and interesting - and mostly unsigned. Wondering if Fred was the artist? My plans in Portland didn't allow me a lot of time to spend in the unit, but miracles of miracles it was sunny all day the first day I was there and being outside was a true treasure. Thanks Fred.

    Su2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Fred's. Easy check-in, the best location and super stylish place. Definitely recommend staying if you're visiting Portland!

    Jenna2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • His location was great & the apartment was super clean. I would definitely stay there again.

    Luis2014-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I loved our long weekend at Artful Life II! The location is very hard to beat. There are so many cool spots literally steps away from the flat. The bed in the flat was very comfortable and we loved the artsy flair of the decor. Fred was also extremely quick to respond to a question we had. He's a great host! My only criticism would be the cat smell in the building. My fiancé is allergic to cats, so the scent did affect him. I would say this would only be a big concern if you have a cat allergy. Overall, we had an awesome time and I will recommend this location to my friends wanting to experience life as a local in Portland!

    Bethany2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Great place. Great hospitality.

    Erin2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • A charming place in a wonderful, walkable neighborhood with great restaurants!

    Andrew2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get out and about in Portland, don't hesitate to book here. Two blocks to the streetcar, easy walk to lots of restaurants and nice shops. The only slight downside is parking. But if you don't plan on leaving the city, skip the car rental and use the public transportation and Lyft or Uber and spend your savings on dinner!

  • We had a very comfortable stay and the apartment is conveniently located. The apartment is on the ground floor with easy access. The laundry is directly across the hall; it was easy to drop laundry in and within a few steps be inside the apartment again. The apartment, building and grounds are clean and well maintained. The hosts were very responsive and quickly answered any questions or concerns. I was working remotely and the workspace was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!

  • Great place in a great location. Was traveling for work and it felt like a home. Would highly recommend!

  • I stayed at Chris's place for close to 4 months while in Portland for a temporary work assignment. The apartment was so close to my office (just a few blocks away!) and conveniently situated to everything I could want or need - restaurants, shopping, entertainment, close proximity to my gym! I didn't even need a vehicle for the entire time I was staying - just grabbed an Uber for longer trips or utilized the convenient Enterprise car rental, located just across the street! Chris has done an incredible job of stocking the apartment with all of the amenities you could need for a stay, both long or short, and the personal touches and cute decor made it truly seem like "home" while I was there! (True story, I was so sad to leave!) Additionally, if any issues arose or if I had questions about the unit, either Chris or the really nice ladies assisting him with managing the unit would get back to me right away with assistance! I really appreciated all of the helpful and welcoming service! For my first ever Airbnb experience, I was completely thrilled - exceeded all expectations!

  • I think the place was clean which is usually the most important for me. The sheets were clean which made it feel comfortable and cozy. Also, it was safe (there are 2 doors which separate you from the street). Perfect and safe location. It has a nice little kitchen. The check in process was easy and the communication was fast and accurate. I had a wonderful stay in Portland!

  • Great communication with the host, a great private apartment with everything that you would need. It is walking distance for a lot of things and very convenient location with easy access to trader joe's and plenty of food/drink options nearby. The apartment was very clean and we would definitely stay again.

  • This place was just what we were looking for! The location was perfect and the price was great for the neighborhood. Check in/out was smooth and easy and the communication was seamless. The only slight issue was that the guesthouse upstairs got to be a bit creaky but not a big problem unless you're extremely sensitive to noise. Would definitely recommend!

  • The apartment is in a fabulous location!

  • My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay in Stephen's apartment which is in the basement (complete separate entrance) of the guest house that he also manages/owns. It was very comfortable and spacious, and included a spic & span clean but basic kitchen that we used for a few breakfasts and lunches. The location was ideal in a lively section of NE -within easy walking distance of many good restaurants, a few blocks of several bus lines and not too far from the street car. As with all of Portland, during the day the buses arrive regularly every 15 minutes and more like every half hour in the late evening (there is an accurate app for transportation). This was important, as I had an ankle injury and other than when we did a day trip outside the City, we did not rent a car for our 8 day stay in Portland - we relied almost completely on public transportation. Finally, Tim, who works with Stephen, provided us with numerous excellent and thoughtful suggestions for restaurants and bars. He was extremely generous with his time and was very informative & personable. We did not have an opportunity to meet Stephen. I recommend this apartment to anyone seeking a comfortable apartment that can be effectively used as a base to explore all of Portland, a wonderful city.

  • Booked a 5 day stay for a Portland get away. The ad matches the place exactly. The location is great, we walked to Nob Hill, the Pearl district, and to DT. Lots of restaurants, shops, coffee shops, and grocery store nearby. The place had very detailed instructions so there was no guess work. We were able to check in around midnight without any issues. The hosts were very accommodating, highly recommend.

  • All descriptions of this apartment are accurate. Great location, cozy apartment with everything you need, and gracious hosts. We were here for about a week and couldn't be happier with our stay! Thanks Stephen and Tim.....would stay here again.

  • Great host, great location! Set up very professionally for easy + flexible check-in/check out. 23rd street is great, also really easy walk to most things downtown too! I'll stay again if/when we return.

  • The description was completely accurate. The spot was clean and welcoming. Great location and easy walk downtown. I was allowed access to the entire home and facilities. Very accommodating! Tony was a great host. He made sure I had everything I needed, allowed me to check in early, and was very kind. I was in for business/continuing education. So, I wasn't able to explore and experience much. I would most definitely stay again!

    Joseph2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay with Tony and his pup Gary during my time in Portland. The location was super walkable from everything downtown and easy to get around on public transportation. Tony offered up some local tips on things to do and was helpful with any questions I had. The boys of the trip was Gary his super-friendly pup! He was more than excited when I came home which made me miss my pup less! I’ll definitely be coming back as the bed was comfy, space was great and super convenient to everything I needed!

You will feel right at home in my studio apartment. With its comfy queen size bed, full kitchen and adorable dining room with a beautiful view of the tree tops. It’s right next door to a Trader Joe’s and conveniently located blocks from the Providence Park MAX train stop which makes it easy to get anywhere in Portland, and to the airport. You won’t need a car. Also there are lots of dining nightlife and shopping within walking distance. This neighborhood is safe and easy to fall in love with.
In the heart of Portland this building was built in the 30s and has so much character. Most of my apartment has its original fixtures. I’ve done my best to replace things to keep the vintage feel.
My cozy studio is located on the top corner of a three story building. The location is safe and easy to get around. Being close to the the MAX train station you can get anywhere around Portland easily and cheaply. There are so many amazing places to eat and drink! Just a short walk from Portland’s famous ice cream parlor Salt & Straw and Pearl District which holds some of Portland’s most famous restaurants and coffee shops. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the karaoke bars!
  • All I can is that this place is perfect if you are a single traveler or couple. This may be redundant but it is close to bars and shopping.

  • Not going to lie... I spent about 20 minutes searching for an air bnb for my trip and the moment i saw this place i was SOLD and booked it on the spot! After a fabulous weekend there i can surely say it lived up to every expectation and more. It is the cutest little apartment and it's in the perfect location in the pearl district. Everything is pretty much within walking distance so i highly recommend walking, the area is beautiful. The place is super spacious inside and Kirsten was really great about communicating about anything and everything we could've possibly needed. Super grateful i found this little spot and will be back for sure!

    Molly2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten’s apartment is conveniently located to the Pearl District. I was able to walk to everything and only had to Uber to and from the airport. Apartment was very clean and she provided lots of instruction ahead of time about how to check in, etc. If I’m in the area again, I would definitely stay at Kirsten’s again!

    Cameron2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • I was super excited when I found this place for a weekend visit for a friend’s wedding at the Hoyt Arboretum and it turned out way better than I even expected! The location is great and the studio itself is absolutely perfect. Open, great layout, clean, organized, and spacious. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the Portland area!

    Elizabeth2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, perfect location, larger than expected!!

    Evan2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten's place was beautiful and located in a great area in Portland! I'd definitely recommend it again!

    Navid2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten’s studio was the perfect place to stay for a long weekend. Just the right size for two people, the apartment had some lovely 1930s touches. The location is great, especially if you are in to watch a Timbers and/or Thorns game at Providence Park! Kirsten was prompt to respond and placed many thoughtful touches (good tea selection, very well appointed kitchen.)

    Fiona2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten’s apartment is gorgeous. If you love a heritage building with character, this place is for you (keep in mind it’s old, so the floors are creaky and you can occasionally hear the neighbours). The apartment is perfectly situated near a plethora of shops and restaurants (and Trader Joe’s!). We loved all the natural sunlight and sleeping with the windows open at night. Kirsten was a wonderful host and always quick to respond. We appreciated the thoughtful touches and amenities in her place (including chocolates, maps, soaps, etc). Check in was a breeze. We would very happily stay here again on our next trip to Portland.

Curious about what makes Portland so weirdly wonderful? Live like a local and find out for yourself at our newly furnished, one-bedroom apartment in downtown Portland. Comfortably blending modern conveniences with historic charm, the apartment sits in a 100-year-old building near Jeld Wen Field and the South Park Blocks - perfectly situated to sample some of Portland's favorite pastimes, like getting lost at Powell's City of Books and drinking copious amounts of coffee and microbrews.
While right in the mix of things, the apartment is in a quieter part of downtown, meaning you'll have the peace and privacy to fully recharge after a long day of hiking or BrewCycling (yes, it's a thing). With an ultra-comfy queen-size bed in the bedroom and a surprisingly comfortable queen-size futon in the family room to sleep four, this is a great place for a couple or small group of friends looking for an affordable home base to take on The Rose City. Though it has just undergone a new renovation, the apartment's historic roots shine through, with much of the original woodwork still in tact. And with modern amenities like super-fast WiFi, new furniture, and a 50" LED flat-screen cable TV, you'll feel right at home. If you feel like staying in to eat, you'll have a compact kitchen with all the cooking essentials and a convenient grocery store just a few blocks away. A Keurig coffee maker will help you get up and go in the morning, or stop by one of the many local coffee shops close by for a specialty latte. You'll also have access to coin-operated laundry facilities to keep packing light, too!
Portland is known as one of the best food cities in the country, and being downtown will put you close to more great bars and acclaimed restaurants than you can shake a stick at. History buffs will want to stop in for a Spanish coffee at Huber's, Portland's oldest bar, and of course, you can't leave without a famous Voodoo Donut (though locals prefer Blue Star Donuts these days). Walk to the popular PSU Farmer's Market on Saturdays (8 blocks away), catch the latest exhibition at the Portland Art Museum (5 blocks away), get wild at a Timbers' game at Providence Park (2-min. walk), or take a stroll along Tom McCall Waterfront Park (25-min. walk). If you're feeling adventurous, check out Mill Ends, the world's smallest park (a whopping 2 feet in diameter) according to Guinness World Records. On second thought, maybe you should stick to the impressive International Rose Test Garden a little further West (about 1.5 miles from the apartment).
  • Loved the claw foot tube, bubble bath! Historic charm, walking distance to all! Tasteful decor, super comfy bed!

  • Kiara's place was great! The apartment is very clean with all of the amenities as listed. Bed was very comfortable and apartment is easy walking distance to TriMet/ downtown.

    Hannah2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is a perfect home base for exploring Portland. It's an easy walk to the Pearl District restaurant and shops and close to a public transit station. it is located in a charming old apartment building--nothing cookie cutter about it. The apartment was incredibly clean, the furniture was comfortable and there's plenty of space to spread out. Kiara was consistently responsive and even sent messages to make sure we were doing ok. Highly recommend this place.

    Julie2019-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very convenient location near bus stops and rail stations and in walking distance from many downtown attractions. The apartment itself was spacious and very clean. Kiara was very helpful throughout our stay and would often respond within minutes when we had a question or request

    Daniel2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Good value and location.

    David2019-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is located in a rather old building and away from the busy city street so the area was quiet but still walking distance to popular eateries and public transportation such as the MAX light rail. It's a cute and small space enough for two people. We were there late March so the place can get quite cold but there were heaters and extra blankets so that helped. All the basic necessities are provided. The place is old but kept clean and tidy. You can hear people walking up and down the stairs but it's really only during the daytime. Kiara is a great host and responded quickly when issues came up. Watch out for homeless people but that's just a Portland issue in general. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this space to people who aren't fussy and just need a place to sleep.

    Melody2019-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were only there less than 8 hours and just needed a place to sleep but it was close to our friend’s home and location worked out well.

    Janet2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kiara’s place was absolutely lovely, in a great location super close to downtown Portland. Lots of space in the apartment, well stocked with kitchen supplies but also close to lots of great restaurants! We would happily stay here again.

  • tldr; I recommend this place. Great ammenities and excellent location, with clean living space anf friendly people. HI NW Portland was one of the nicer hostels I've been to. Suoer friendly staff who are always willing to give suggestions, and you share a room with three other guests. Bathrooms are a communaal space, with four of them on my floor - I never really had a problem with access to these bathrooms. Toiletries can be purchased for cheap at the front counter if you forget anything. Ammenity-wise, there's events that happen everyday at the hostel, from live local music, game nights, or walking tours that allow for a lone traveller to connect with others during their time in Portland. The cafe is also a nice place to grab a quick meal or drink. The hostel is located about 3-4 blocks from Pearl District, making it an easy walk to excellent breweries or restaurants in the city. I didn't really need to rent a car staying here since the public transportation was convenient and cheap, and walking isn't much of an issue for me (it takes about 20 mins to get to the other side of NW Portland, for reference). The 24/7 service makes coming back after a late night of fun not much of an issue, unlike other airbnbs where you may need to be mindful of a curfew. I strongly recommend any traveller to consider staying here for their trip in Portland.

    Scott2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • overall a good spot for a quick night stay.

    Stephen2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great hostel in the heart of the Pearl district. I walked everywhere and didn't have an issue finding parking on the weekend, and the facilities were clean and well kept. There are 4 bathrooms on each floor and I never waited more than a minute or two for one. Overall a fantastic experience!

    Hattie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here when you're in Portland for a night or two! Easy to walk most places, great cafe, free bagel and coffee for breakfast, clean rooms. Can't beat it.

    Erin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience staying at the Northwest Portland International Hostel! The staff was great and I enjoyed the perks of having a complimentary bagel and coffee ever morning during my stay.

    Dmitry2019-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this hostel is a source of delight : the welcoming employees, the proximity with local restaurants and attractions, the high-quality amenities (comfy dorm and modern restrooms) and the variety of breakfast options (whether you choose to take the free bagel and drink or any other pick with a potential discount, it's up to you). Will definitely consider going back if I am once again in Portland in the future.

    Sophie2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, spacius communal areas, great cafe, super clean bathrooms, simple shared bedrooms. Just what I needed at a great price.

  • My stay here was a pleasant surprise. It was my first time staying in a hostel, so I didn’t quite know what to expect. Everybody on the staff was very kind and extremely helpful if you had any questions. The whole building was well taken care of and clean. The location is optimal for adventures around downtown. They also include freshly made bagels every morning! I don’t know how it could get better. Definitely a great place to stay while in Portland.

Get ready to keep Portland weird. This funky 1-bedroom hideaway—just one block from the MAX line—is perfect for a weekend getaway to the City of Roses. It’s found at the intersection of affordability and killer location—need we say more?
Privacy and the comforts of home, all in an adorable package! You can walk right up to this ground-level unit. Inside you’ll find trendy decor, a comfortable queen-size bed, and blazing-speed WiFi. The petite kitchen packs a powerful punch, fully stocked with a Keurig and whatever you need to craft a quick meal. If you’ve brought a small group (3 people max!) you can pull the couch into a comfy futon. The bathroom is off the living space, and features a stand-up shower—there’s no time to soak in a tub, when you’re soaking up all Portland has to offer. This basement unit stays cool in the summer and warm in winter (no A/C required). There’s a coin-operated washer and dryer for your convenience, so you can handle whatever your Portland adventure throws your way!
You can’t beat this convenient, easy-access apartment for a couple or small group on the go. The MAX line carries you straight here from PDX, and central downtown Portland is just a mile away. It’s a 2 minute hop, skip, or jump to Burnside Street, where some of Portland’s most fabulous restaurants reside. You could window-shop here all day at the many boutiques and craft coffee spots. Soccer lovers can catch a game at Providence Park just 2 blocks away from your abode. If you love urban living, you’ll be in heaven above.

  • Fantastic location! It’s a very clean, cozy, convenient location and Tonya is a very welcoming, gracious host! If you’re visiting Portland downtown area and use the Max (light rail) to get around, it’s ease can’t be beat. I’ll look it up for future trips! Thanks!

  • I only stayed for the night, but it was a comfortable one! The apartment is in the basement, so it was quiet, but the windows let in enough light to keep it from feeling like a basement. The real star here is the location - everything you need is a short walk (or Lyft) away!
