Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private deck surrounded by pristine and untouched nature just a short drive away from LA.
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down to its bare aluminum studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best breaks or go hike Sandstone Peak (Santa Monica's highest mountain). But whatever you do, make sure not to miss the incredible sunsets off our deck. At night, watch the milky way appear and count the constellations above or the moon reflect on the ocean below. And if the wind is right, listen to the sounds of the crashing waves travel up the canyon or even the seals barking down below. And then at dawn, if you're lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK ON THE AIRBNB LINK FOR DIRECTIONS as it might take you to the wrong location. Only use the accurate directions provided on our itinerary. If you don't you might get lost and we are not responsible if you do not follow our easy and foolproof directions. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are a mice in the Santa Monica mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the airstream if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the airstream but we do have 4 traps around the airstream so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. In three years we have yet to ever see a rattle snake near the airstream so the area is definitely not prone to them. This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to potential slippery road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. The beauty of this experience lies in seeing infinite views and yet no trace of humankind. Sleeping with the doors open, under the milky-way while hearing the ocean waves crashing below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack. Our guests have the most special nights here. Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology :-)
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.

  • I don't know if I can say enough positive words about the experience staying at this Airstream trailer. Christian answered all my questions promptly and offered his advice for local activities prior to check-in. The directions were easy to follow and lead you to the top of the Malibu hills where Christian met us for an easy check-in and overview of the trailer and surrounding area. The trailer itself is clean and nicely decorated just as in the pictures. The restrooms and shower were better than expected and offered a nice touch of the indoors. I have saved the best for last...the view. It was the most beautiful view I've seen in California. The deck offered front row seats to the sun setting over the ocean and the stars that can't be seen without escaping LA's lights. Absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for a unique getaway, this should be top of your list.

  • Amazing place to stay at!! Pictures and videos can NOT describe the views from up there.

    David2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience and the most beautiful view to have the privilege of seeing. From sunrise, sunset and surrounding stars; the view will be an image that I'll always cherish with my family. Thank you for making the experience available.

    Yenvy2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is incredible. Totally unique experience and worth every penny. Hope its available for years to come.

    Lauren2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most perfect setting. It's literally on top of the world, and you wake up in a cloud every single morning. It's peaceful, and the sunsets alone make it worth it. Everything inside was great, and we cooked dinner two nights. The bed was very comfortable, and while it gets a little warm inside, it was easy enough to just open the door a little bit. The bathrooms are wonderful, and the water was warm if we waited until the water had been in the sun a little bit. Keep in mind this is not a 5-star hotel, and you will be "glamping" - there was a mouse that showed up and there are bugs, since you're technically camping. But if you go in expecting that, it's absolutely wonderful. A huge white dog showed up on the deck one night - he was super friendly, but seemed to be afraid of men. He got lots of snuggles, and then went back to his house down the hill.

    Kate2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most amazing experience I ever had. The place is super romantic, the views are breathtaking, the outside seats and beds are amazing for sunset watch and stargazing. The host is very responsive and prompt. One disadvantage, the road leading to the place is very dangerous and requires skilled off road driver. As soon as you start driving up the mountain you will lose cell coverage and (Hidden by Airbnb) map signal, so either have a satellite gps ready or use the directions very carefully.

    Khaled 2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Would love to do it again. The mornings and evenings were surreal. The host was quick to answer any questions. Some little creatures, but hey your camping in their territory, so all good. Recommend a shower when you first arrive, water in the morning is pretty cold. We did have a white husky show up on the deck. The dog turned out to be friendly.

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse (all photos tagged with #thejoshuatreehouse) This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • What a beautiful stay we had! Thank you so much for sharing your space. Perfection!

    Amy2016-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Joshua Tree house was amazing -- despite a few problems caused by unusually strong rain, our time at the house couldn't have gone better. both Sara and Rich were available to answer any and all questions, and were extremely helpful before and during our stay. we loved the recommendations and visiting the integratron. it was overall a great experience and we can't wait to stay again. thanks so much for having us!

    Kenna2016-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Like all other reviews describe, the house was nothing short of amazing. Though we never met Sara or Rich, it's obvious that they're good people with good vibes, and you can feel that in the house. Not a single missed detail, which I so appreciate. Their communication was just as detailed. We said aloud multiple times, "can we just stay forever?". We spent a few hours exploring town each day (3 night stay) and honestly, all we ever wanted to do was to go back and hang at the house. If you appreciate details, chill vibes, and a record player, this is your place. You'll never want to leave.

    Alyssa2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time here at their space. It was close to restaurants and shops and close to the National Park as well. We were able to prepare our meals with all of the tools they had in their kitchen and thoroughly enjoyed our rest on the comfiest beds! Would highly recommend and stay again!

    Alyssa2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous space! We loved staying here!

  • Everything was excellent from start to finish

    Jordan2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • sara and rich's lovely home was the perfect place to escape to after our wedding! beautifully decorated, super-comfy beds, and sweet touches like a record player and board games made it difficult to leave. location was excellent-we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but we were close enough to walk to the saloon at night :) we loved spending the evenings star-gazing in the backyard. if we could move in, we would!

    Becca2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The home was darling! Sara responded to questions immediately, which was much appreciated. All recommendations were worthwhile. Only note: if airborne allergens are tough on you, the desert dust won't be your friend. It's everywhere. Just be prepared because it's apart of the experience.

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. Since we book so far in advance, if you would like to stay here, check out our other listing, the Hummingbird Haven: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6562632 We are in a quiet yet convenient location. Shaded by Oak and Madrone trees and next to a Redwood grove, you can enjoy the outdoors from the deck. In the summer, it is cool and in the winter you might get to hear the creek running below.
We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend, you will usually need to make your reservation request about 9-11 months in advance. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out, We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, an Electric Water Kettle, a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $155. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $310. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $41 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $42. So for the weekend, it will be a total of about $428. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 11 people living here in a rather loose community.
  • Great time to get away and just enjoy the surroundings. Kitty and Michael were very welcoming and made us feel right at home.

    Francine2010-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Like your own private tree house (but with heat and running water : ) We loved the quiet and beauty of this cute little place that overlooks a stand of redwoods. The host was lovely and generous. We will definitely go back in the future.

  • I stayed in the Mushroom with my girlfriend for only one day, and it was a pretty magical one. Like most reviews say, Kittie greeted us warmly and showed us the cabin, then showed us around the property, introduced us to her three friendly goats, and to her beautiful chickens! She brought us a jar of fresh goats milk, which we drank, and put in our coffee and oatmeal in the morning. She showed us where to walk around the property, and told us some things to do in town. The cabin was stocked with everything you'd need, including cooking utensils, spices and olive oil. The shower was the most surprising part - nicer than my shower at home, certainly! The cabin had a comfortable, cozy, sort of magical feel, and I'm sorry we couldn't stay an other day. I only wish I'd gotten to thank her on our way out!

    Basha2012-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully charming and very rustic! Had a marvelous short overnight stay. There are chickens, goats, cats and hundreds of hummingbirds on the property (along with a few tenants too). The hosts are very friendly, but not intrusive. Kitty gave me fresh goat's milk and whey (from her cheese making ventures), which I'm thoroughly enjoying. The cabin is small, but can easily accommodate 2 people. Although you'll need to climb a ladder to get to the bed. It's well appointed and even has a BBQ and rocker on the porch. I learned about their 'brown water bog' which was something I'd never heard of. All in all it was a great experience and I wish I had been able to stay longer~ I'd definitely return! Thank You~!!

    Shelly2012-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay in this Cabin. Kitty is a wonderful host.

    Bharat2014-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say that has not been said about Kitty and her magical space? It was such a profoundly unique experience to on her lovely property where there is solitude as well as beauty! The space was small but accommodated my family of three perfectly as well as our friend! The deck made it feel very spacious and open and we really enjoyed grilling out one night. Kitty was so sweet to let my 5 year old daughter help milk and feed the goats and play will all the animals... She also gave us some goat milk which tasted so wonderful in the fair-trade organic coffee. We had a wonderful stay and although we are locals we hope the return in the near future.

    Meredith, Wallace & Ashby2014-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty was such a great host and made our stay not only enjoyable but filled with new experiences! We were able to enjoy the hummingbirds and goats and had fun interacting with her dogs and cats as well. Kitty graciously showed us different parts of the property and was a very engaging host. The cabin was neat, clean, and definitely as described, with various amenities such as popcorn, sparkling cider, a great selection of movies, etc. Even though it was fairly cold outside, it was nice and toasty inside. There were different places to explore on the property and we did a short hike on a trail after it rained. We weren't sure how to get onto the internet, but since we were doing a lot of catching up, we didn't ask --- I'm sure that Kitty would have been able to provide it had we done so. None of us had cell phone reception at the cabin (AT&T and Verizon) so just a note if you need to be in communication with people while away. It was great for us to be disconnected and spent time catching up with each other instead of on our phones. Would love to get back up here and spent another night if possible!

    Cynthia2014-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • The advertised photo's make the dome look expansive and secluded, however, we were unpleasantly surprised to find that this was not case. After spending what seemed like eternity brushing through endless trivial rules, the host finally left us alone. Yeah the dome may have been cool, but HIGHLY OVERRATED AND PRICED. There is nothing exceptional, special or out of ordinary about this listing so I would think twice before forking over $160 plus I almost the forgot the "transient taxes"- which of course have to be collected in tax.

Enjoy peace, quiet, and beautiful views in Cazadero. For each rental, $50 will be donated to Raphael House, a San Francisco organization whose goal is to help at-risk families achieve stable housing and financial independence.
This little a-frame cabin would make a productive retreat for an artist, writer, or musician, or a romantic getaway. Surrounded by redwoods on a private road in Cazadero, my cabin is an hour and forty-five minutes north of San Francisco: a roughly ten-minute drive to the beautiful Sonoma Coast, and just fifteen minutes to Guerneville and wine country in the other direction. Head west and you’ll hit the charming town of Duncans Mills; go east to Monte Rio, and catch a movie at the historic Rio Theater. The full bed sleeps one or two comfortably. No TV or microwave; yes record player, wood-burning stove, equipped kitchen, and lots of cookbooks. The backyard is sunny and sloping with a view. There’s a table and bench on the deck for al fresco dining. And there’s speedy wireless Internet, too.
  • Where to start? My 2 day airbnb trip to this a-frame was nothing short of incredible. Very close to the beautiful town of Jenner (cliffs that meet the ocean, seal breeding bay, and the best damn sunset the US has to offer), a quaint diner, and a scenic drive from Russian river brewing. the cabin itself is remarkable, the detail is perfected down to the book collection and glassware. cozy bed, in-ground shower (what!? right?), large back porch. all of our needs were met, plenty of towels, blankets, firewood, and coffee for us. it was an absolute pleasure, and such a magical place. Very hard to part when we left. Rachel was very easy to get ahold of and great to communicate with. Next time we journey out towards northern California again I will not hesitate to be back at this spot! I do recommend driving to this location in daylight, since there are a few tight corners along the mountain. Skate park nearby if you're into it. A million "thank you"s to Rachel, you made our vacation, tenfold.

    Jess2015-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was utterly charming -- exactly what we were looking for. The location was perfect -- right in the woods in a quiet meadow, and a convenient 10-minute drive from both Guerneville and the beach. The cabin itself was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and even included a guitar, ukekele, well-stocked library, and record player + extensive record collection (Paul Simon! Neil Young! Beatles!). The bed was extremely comfortable, too (and hard to get out of). We ate breakfast in the sun on the porch. It was very easy communicating with Rachel and she was available via both email and text, although minimal communication aside from check-in information was required. Hope to stay at her cabin again as it was quite a memorable trip!

    Ben2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect escape! Rachel was wonderful and we loved staying in her beautifully appointed cabin. It was just what we were hoping for. Woodsy and remote but close to the ocean, river and great little towns. The nearby beaches she recommends are stunning. We also loved sitting at the big table on the porch, perfect for a picnic. All the little details are just right and we cannot wait to go back!

    Rebecca2014-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fab! 2nd time staying there, everything was awesome.

    Rachel2014-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience - we had lots of fun! Enjoyed the stereo and vinyl records and loved the seclusion! Would love to make it back some time!

    Brian2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing and magical experience at the a frame cabin! What a perfectly designed hideout in the woods. We loved the record collection, the selection of books, and the fully equipped kitchen. I would recommend this place to anyone. One of the best air bnbs I've stayed in!

    Travis2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The A-Fream in the woods was a delight to stay at! Comfortable and cozy, perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking, wine tasting or spa-ing nearby. The location was perfect for both coastal & wine country adventures. Streams of natural light are a welcome wake up and nightfall can be paired with spinning records. Thoroughly enjoyed using it as our Russian River base.

    Laura2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The best way to describe our stay at in The A frame was peaceful! Very clean and has everything you’ll need for a weekend stay. Make sure you check out Gold Coast coffee/bakery and the general store in Duncan Mills! The perfect weekend getaway for two! Thanks Rachel!

  • Just returned from our 3 nights stay. What an unforgettable experience. We didn't want to leave. Though the weather was overcast and the days were short we never ran out of energy to cook a wonderful meal (keep it simple) or take a hot shower. The refrigerator is the size of a dishwasher so shop wisely. Everything was top of the line including the bedding, towels, toiletries. Linda was absolutely a great host providing excellent instructions that were detailed and relevant. Bring a GPS to mark your location upon arrival so trips in and out for food etc is brainless. We took hikes everyday in the endless backyard of desert. With snow in the mountains and an ever changing light to the view out every window, it was hard to leave. Recommendation: No coffeemaker (only espresso machine) for which we could not find refills. Bring your own coffee and coffee press if you can't live with instant coffee. Ample spices, cooking oil and pantry items. One of the best stocked kitchens I've had the pleasure to use. On our short list to come back again.

  • I don't even know where to begin. The itHouse is a dream. Waking up in the master bedroom couldn't have been more serene. Every single detail about this house has inspired me to re-evaluate how I'm living and how I can do it better. We arrived on a cloudy day to a powerless house, which Linda warned us about. She helped us through getting the generator up and running which brought the electricity back quite quickly and for the rest of our stay. The way this house runs makes you appreciate what we all take for granted every single day and really forces you to conserve energy. If only we were all like this in our everyday lives. Imagine the relief it would give to the planet?! If you're looking to truly disconnect and re-center yourself, this is the place for you. If you can't live without TV or the Internet on your vacation, you won't find what you're looking for here. It's so remote that you have to climb a hill to get service, so you go to bed under the light of the stars instead of the glow of your phone and you wake up and quickly realize social media won't be the first thing you're going to see - instead you get the 360 degree view of the desert wilderness - lizards and rabbits and land squirrels right outside your window - OH MY. How refreshing! I dream of the day I get to go back. Thank you for building this truly special, thoughtful and gorgeous house.

  • It-house is just an amazing place in the middle of nowhere.. Our two children – 6 and 10 – really enjoyed the 3 nights of our stay there. I recommend it to everyone to spend two or three days there.. You’ll get in a totally different world, but still with all comfort that you have in normal life No doubt, this is a wonderful getaway for those who want to try something different while still living in comfort.

  • What a fantastic place! I think it is fantastic that Linda makes her place available through Airbnb -- it gives us a chance to really try on and experience great architecture and a beautiful setting.

    Jd2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Being that often on the front site of airbnb is great but Linda deserves it. The off grid it-House is an architectural masterpiece. Delightful embedded in the stunning nature. The house is furnished in the best of taste. It’s a fantastic hideaway unfortunately several thousands miles away from me – otherwise I would love to be back again as soon as possible. Linda was very helpful concerning all issues and instructions are clear. The house is easy to find – bring your books along, lay back and relax.

    Dominik2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this house that hasn't already been said by others? The location is amazing - just secluded enough to make you feel like you're truly in the middle of nowhere, but not so secluded as to make a city dweller like me feel too uncomfortable. And it's nice having a decent-sized town just about 15 minutes away, in case you don't buy enough firewood the first time around! We spent most of our daytime in the National Park, and we didn't have any issues with loss of power in the evenings or at night, even after a good amount of cooking and running the dishwasher. Having enough hot water for four people to shower after a long day of hiking was a bit of a challenge, but we were able to make it work as long as we all used our strictest water conservation techniques (turn it off when soaping up, make haste, etc.). The indoor fireplace was great and did a really good job of heating up the entire house - we used the outdoor fireplace one night, as well, and those who stayed in the larger bedroom felt pretty overheated that night. As others have said, there is no freezer in the kitchen, but there is a good-sized fridge. Someone mentioned being able to see an RV parked near the property - we noticed it, too, but it was far enough away that it didn't bother us (and it's not parked in an area that would be able to see into either bedroom). I do think it's important to mention the dirt road, though - it can be pretty rough in some areas, so if you don't have a truck or SUV, just be aware. Our Jetta wagon did fine, but I definitely wouldn't want to drive down that road in a Smart car or anything that's low to the ground (it's about two miles of dirt road). So, if you have the opportunity, stay here!! Even just three nights in the house is such a great experience.

    Mary2014-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing place I've stayed in my life. The setting is phenomenal, you feel like you're sleeping outside with the expansive views from the bedroom. The fire orb was super clutch to generate warmth in the evening. Outside fireplace was a nice touch you don't necessarily pick up on from the listing. Linda's instructions were very detailed and helpful in terms of gaining access to the property and information regarding how to make the sustainable solar energy source last throughout a cloudy evening. Top shelf, 10 star experience. Do it.

    Brian2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic 3-night stay at the house. As we were on our way, Linda contacted us to let us know that there was a fire in the area. She kept us well informed and pointed us in the right direction for further news. The house is the perfect place for relaxing - no clutter, well equipped, a beautiful panoramic view over the valley and outdoor chairs to admire it. A unique and highly recommended experience!

*This cabin was featured in the New York Times in January, 2017. * A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement.
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our other two cabins nearby ("Homestead Camp Cabin in Joshua Tree" and "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin") *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a fire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request. Please note that we have a TW0-NIGHT MINIMUM stay, and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. This requirement allows us to keep our rates low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to protecting the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values.
  • We had a really amazing time staying in Joshua Tree at Stephanie and Jay's place. Everything was as described. It is very much off the beaten path which made for amazing star gazing. Jay was very nice. We didn't meet Stephanie. Everything was smooth, except for the roads leading to the cabin ;) Seriously though, our Nissan Versa rental car barely made it up the washboard, sandy pathway ("road"). All is good though. Just take it slow and you'll get there. Plan an extra 20 min or so once you exit off the main 29 Palms highway. It truly was a great experience. Thanks guys! :)

    Bryan2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • There are plenty of well-deserved positive reviews for Stephanie & Jay and their Homesteader cabin already, so rather than just repeat the same praise, I would like use my review comment to say that we very much admire the couple for leaving LA, developing something unique, special and worthwhile, and sharing it with the world! Way to go, you two. We certainly appreciated it and found it inspiring in a way that will surely last for some time. Kindest regards! P.s. - we loved how quite and still it was out there!

    JD2014-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was one the best weeks we have spent anywhere. We loved the Cabin, The Desert and it's inhabitants and we were made to feel most welcome not just by Jay and Steph who are delightful hosts who will now remain as friends but by all the local people of Joshua Tree that we met during our visit. We cannot recommend the Homesteader Cabin highly enough for anyone wanting a truly relaxing break away from a humdrum existence and the pressures of daily living. • Our stay at the Homesteader Cabin was every bit as relaxing, peaceful and fabulous as we thought it would be. It was a truly unique experience for me and my partner and a very memorable way to spend my 30th birthday. The outdoor shower was a nice way to start the day and star gazing the perfect way to end it. The cabin is the perfect location from which to explore Joshua Tree National Park and we also took a short one hour drive to Palm Springs. A stay in one of Stephanie and Jay's cabins is highly recommended. Good luck with all of your future projects :) Catherine & Adam

  • I haven't language to describe the grace and spiritual center of Jay's and Stephanie's Soul Retreat in Joshua Tree. In a perfectly appointed one-room space, Jay and Stephanie have with careful but not precious precision have hand-crafted the Perfect Place on Earth. Every possible amenity and necessity has been anticipated, without a single excess: just the right number of pots, towels and pillows live happily with indulgent perfections: an abundance of magazines, a coffee grinder, a fast wi-fi, a hammock, excellent cell service, and an exquisitely designed separate facility for showering and toileting. Jay met us at their home upon our arrival, not the least bit put out by our unanticipated tardiness. He kindly answered every question with patient sincerity, weathering my slavish St. Bernardish foamings. He had connected us to a beautiful Desert Spirit, Angela, whose fresh juices were delivered within an hour of our arrival. She walked in "our home" and we wanted to scoop her up and keep her with us, she so fully emanated the peace of the Almighty Desert. I cannot give out any more stars. I am apoplectic with gratitude that Jay and Stephanie welcomed us home to their safe, electric, cozy, exhilarating piece of the World. One can become most fully realized and most fully rested, both, here.

    Stephanie 2015-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Jay and Stepanie in their amazing house. It's not hard to get to if you follow their directions, and you will be rewarded with absolute peace and a beautiful landscape. The desert is surprisingly full of life. We have rarely felt more relaxed.

    Gareth2011-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't ask for a more perfect place to stay in Joshua Tree! Jay and Stephanie were thoughtful and accommodating hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed every step of the way. This will undoubtedly be our go-to spot for future Joshua Tree sojourns.

  • El lugar es bonito. Faltan detalles de limpieza, pero en general bien.

  • Directions to the house were accurate and access to the house easy with the combination lock. The house is located in a residential neighborhood but has many beautiful pine trees and country feel to the area. It is very nicely decorated with lots of woodsy touches which add to the cabin atmosphere. Beds and couch were comfortable, plenty of towels, china, utensils, etc. Did not use washer or dryer. BBQ worked well. As did WiFi. Location is a about 15 minutes to Stateline.

  • We had a great time at Ryan&Darnie's chalet! It's quite, clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend it for families and groups.

    Xu2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Lake Tahoe Chalet was perfect for us, two older active ladies looking to get away for a few days, staying in a safe location convenient to the Lake, hiking, birding, exploring the area, searching for Fall colors (Hope Valley nearby.) The home is very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen; we loved having 2 full bathrooms; beds were comfortable; nothing that we couldn't figure out or needed that wasn't supplied. We would happily stay here again.

    Carolyn2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos!!!

    Jodi2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Chalet. We were six friends staying for two winter nights, and we didn't feel crowded at all. The central heater works well for heating the house and drying wet socks, and additional space-heaters in the bedrooms kept us at perfect temperatures. The full kitchen allowed us to cook several meals together, and the location is great for long walks, snow-covered adventures, or driving to our Tahoe destinations. It's a beautiful, bright home, with every detail of the decor thought through. We didn't want to leave!

    Odalis2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin nestled in a quiet residential area of South Lake Tahoe. 3 br with one of the rooms having 2 double decker twin beds. So really enough room for everyone without getting in each other’s faces. Cabin in the forest feel with the luxuries of a stylishly renovated home. Hop, skip, and cartwheel away from heavenly lodges. I will definitely book again if we are going to be vacationing in the area.

    Miwako2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Home is cozy, photos really make the home appear bigger. Living room and dinning table are a little crowded. Home needed some spring cleaning and TLC.

Also, those who are very light sleepers should consider using earplugs if the possibilty of sounds of coyotes, owls, rooster or dogs keep them awake. While we strive to avoid working around the Yurt during early morning or late afternoon when guests like to relax, we will be tending the gardens, etc. during the day which many guests find fascinating. Whether you wish to retreat to Nature or explore the surroundings, you have a wide choice of activities. Our canyons and beaches boast world-class mountain biking, hiking, horse-riding, wine-tasting, surfing and sunbathing. There are hiking trails right out the yurt door which access Nicholas Canyon Park and lake as well as Leo Carillo State Park. We can help you arrange horseback lessons and trail rides locally, as well as rental of surfboards, wet suits, and mountain bikes. Yoga, dance, Pilates, acupuncture, massage, and gym usage can also be arranged. While secluded, we are easily accessible by major roads. • Pasamos una noche 4 personas (no muy grandes) y apenas teníamos espacio. La casa es para 5 pero no sé cómo podrían hospedarse en ella tanta gente. La ducha no tiene presión. El emplazamiento está muy bien.

  • Our stay at the Yurt was a unique experience that we would recommend to anyone! The yurt itself is comfortable and being able to gaze up at the stars through the skylight is a treat. The property is in a great location - amongst the canyons but also close to the beautiful beaches. Breakfast in Bibi and Bruce's home was not only delicious, but we were made to feel most welcome and had a lovely chat!

  • What a beautiful corner of the world! The Yurt is clean and comfortable. The property--a working organic farm nestled into the canyons above Malibu--is stunning. Bibi and Bruce where charming, gracious hosts. We had dinner and breakfast at the farm as well...both were fantastic.

  • I booked a meal at Malibu Orchards on EatWith and discovered this magical airbnb retreat! Meals are more affordable than any Malibu restaurant, yet all organic! The ingredients are all fresh, the cooking delicious, the conversation engaging, and the setting enchanting. Likewise, the accommodation is perfect - sheets smell of sunshine, water is soft and chemical-free, essential oil-based cleaning products. And, the hosts are a wealth of local information and insider-film stories. A perfect 5-star Airbnb!

  • We had a great stay at Bibi's hurt. Because it is away from the city, you definitely get a sense of being in a whole different place (while being close to home). I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking to get away from the fast paced city life.

  • BiBi greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the Yurt, and was incredibly welcoming. We slept so well in the loft bed listening to the frogs and birds. The next morning we headed up to the main house as we had arranged to have Bibi cook us breakfast which was fantastic and she had such great suggestions on sights to see and knew alot about the local area, she even lent us some field guides so we could explore the parks and trails around the canyon. After spending a day at the beach where we saw whales, porpoises, and sea lions it was back up to the house for a shower and then back out to a different beach for sunset. The Yurt provided such a relaxing and private space for us between our outings and adventures. Make sure you have at least one meal while you stay as the food is fantastic and you will learn so much about the area. If you are looking for a unique and authentic place to stay and love to learn about the place you are staying then book with Bibi!

  • Bibi Was an amazing host , we had the change to share dinner with her and her friends it was lovely and exquisite. The Yurt is beautiful and very private. We would love to come back and be able to explore more , for a weekend.

This a rural desert location. The Tile House is a magical place. A vortex in the desert of love and space. This is the place to retreat and unwind, find yourself, breathe and explore. Not available or appropriate for parties or large gatherings. A spot to meditate, cook, and watch the sky, the clouds and stars at night. A healing, colorful environment for rejuvenating your spirit and soul.
A two bedroom house with outdoor hot tub and gorgeous views, and gated courtyard with firepit. Queen-sized beds, picture windows, cotton linens, and towels. Fabulous and reliable WiFi. iPod dock with speakers. Full Kitchen, refrigerator, coffee maker, mixing bowls, wood-burning stove, swamp cooler. Laundry facility on site. Fireplace and pellet stove. Dog-door for your pet to access a fenced and secure yard. Great for large get togethers or a romantic getaway. Sleeps 4 comfortably but also has a sofa sleeper for a kid. Cradled inside and outside by a mosaic made of Mexican tile, smalti, handmade Perry Hoffman ceramics, tile and fused glass, found desert tiles, found objects, stained glass and ceramic bric-brac, THERE you find yourself situated in complete silence, watching the desert light crawl across the fast and intricate landscape which is ALL around you. 7 miles from the town of 29 Palms and the east entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. 360 degree views amid the peace and quiet, beauty and wonder, where indoor and outdoor osmosis expands your exposure to the desert. Touches of luxury, whimsy, and function make the visitor feel safe but also adventurous. Perry has been working on his roadside attraction / museum / gallery / magic spot / mosaic house since it began in 2000. 11 years later, 800 sqft were added, and approximately 2500 sqft of mosaic applied and grouted. Glass fused baubles, hand made ceramics and a magical desert. This desert homestead turned beacon of love vision is waiting to reach the stars. The Tile House sits in the middle of the vast and open desert. You need not walk two feet to be a part of the wilderness, now it is up to you to look around both macro and micro and see what you can see here. Jack rabbits, cottontails, ravens, scorpions, desert iguana, snakes, Gambel's quail, lesser night hawks, owls, coyotes, roadrunners, sphinx moths, and kangaroo rats, flash floods, dust devils, lightning storms, sunsets, summer rains, empty roads, wildflowers, and cacti are some of the things you might happen to see. Walk gently in nature. At night, absorb the clear starry skids, and August and November meteor showers. Remember, there are rusty bits and broken tiles in the sand. This is a work in progress. Be careful and don't walk about barefoot. You have been warned. Not recommended for children, unless prior arrangements and agreements are made. You are ironically completely alone in the middle of nowhere and the center of the universe.

  • I had a small getaway trip to joshua tree with 3 other girlfriends and i was fortunate to come across finding this beautiful awesome home!!! Perry was very good at communicating with me. he made sure to email us with detailed instructions and directions about the house prior to our trip which was really helpful!!!! the house is super eclectic and so fun!! i love the hippie bohemian artsy vibe. each room was so beautifully decorated so it made our photos from our photoshoot so vibrant in colors! we didnt know about the cute little trailer in the backyard! it was so fun to take pictures in there too. it was a pretty hot weekend but the AC/swamp cooler worked very well and we were comfortable just lounging away at the house. thank you for having us at the tile house!!

    Lena2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay! Magical, clean, comfy beds, warm. Pet friendly to boot!

    Brooke2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tile House was everything we expected and more. There was an endless amount of beautiful things to discover in and out of the house. It was one of the most unique and relaxing places we have ever been to in the world. I couldn't imagine a more perfect way to experience the desert and it was very close to Joshua Tree National Park. Thank you Perry for creating this and sharing it with others! Thanks also for your helpfulness and quick responses. We hope we can visit your house again.

    Jessica2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Tile House was a magical destination -- beautiful mosaic work throughout, and open views of the desert landscape from every window. We enjoyed keeping warm by the pellet stove during our visit in the cold of winter, and the house was very convenient to Joshua Tree NP. Thanks for sharing this unique space with us Perry!

    Vaughn2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience using airbnb and it couldn't have been better. I needed to escape my hectic city life for a couple of days and Tile House was the right place to do it. Perry put so much love and positive energy in the design of the house, I can't imagine anyone having a bad time there. It has a mystical, anything goes, atmosphere. I left feeling inspired. The house was clean, bed was comfy, the hot tub was perfect under the stars at night.

    Noelle2016-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Tile House was beyond words. We felt so good in Perrys home...the art work was everywhere you looked, the cool polished cement floors felt good and even tho it was 110 degrees outside we were cool as cucumbers inside. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your magical home

    September2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perry was a great host. He gave great directions and warned me of the weather and even offered to reschedule because of the weather and kept me updated on everything. The property is amazing and one my favorite places, ever. The cooling system works well for the summer and the entire property is filled with amazing things to look at. It's expensive to stay, but you are getting an entire house. I will definitely be back.

  • El departamento es muy completo y luminoso. Si bien el barrio está un poco alejado, tiene excelente comunicación por transporte público. Tuvimos todo lo que los anfitriones ofrecen. Pasamos unos días espléndidos en San Francisco

  • I traveled to San Francisco for my son's wedding. It was so wonderful to walk into a beautiful studio with anything I could possibly need. The host greeted us warmly and told us to call if we needed anything.. I would definitely stay there again.

    Elizabeth2012-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Mike & Nic´s place was great. Unfortunately we didn´t meet in person, but the communication went perfectly anyway. If i come back to San Francisco i would be happy to stay at Mike and Nic again. One tipp: Climb the small hill next to their home at sunrise. It is worth it.

    Daniel2013-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mike & Nic seem to be great people! Their place was cozy and very good. It wasn't a fancy house, but the room was what we needed to rest and stay, perfect for small groups.

    Thiago2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Mike and Nic's Grand and Cozy studio. The studio was charming and clean, in a perfect location. It is just blocks from Bernal Heights park where we enjoyed panoramic views of San Francisco. The stores and restaurants on nearby Cortland Ave provided high quality affordable meals out, and good options for groceries. We enjoyed dining in the studio, too; the kitchenette has all one needs to fix a nice meal, and the dining area is lovely. The neighborhood is safe and walkable (very hilly, bring your good shoes!) The selection of books was a special treat! We'd love to stay again in the future. All the best to Laura, who took great care of managing the rental while the owners were out of town.

    Margaret2013-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We visited San Francisco with our 8 year old daughter. Mike and Nic were very helpful and courteous, and the studio was well appointed. We slept in the bed, our daughter on the futon, and both were very comfortable. We used public transportation, and there were bus stops located nearby. There were snacks and beverages there for us when we arrived, and there are some grocery stores and some wonderful restaurants nearby, some that there were menus already provided for us so we could order in. We had a wonderful time, and we so appreciate having this wonderful little studio to come home to while we were there.

  • Our experience at the "Grand and Cozy 1920's SF Studio" was exceptional. It is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood with easy parking. We usually got a spot right next to the studio, or a few cars down. This studio has great character having a history of being a corner grocery store from the 1920's (I got that info. from one of my friends who happened to have lived a few doors down from here in the 1970s!) Despite its age, Mike & Nic have renovated it beautifully, and it is modernly comfortable with old time character (but without old time mustiness!). The appearance and cleanliness of the studio not only met, but even exceeded my expectations. Mike and Nic are great hosts that have provided very nice accomodations. We wanted for nothing. They were also responsive in our communications. My bed was VERY comfortable and I liked that there was a big work desk and dining table (we were on a working vacation). The neighborhood center is just a few blocks away, and it has some small markets, and a great selection of restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. I enjoyed morning coffee at Martha & Bros. and Sandbox bakery (as well as baked goods at the latter). One dinner was at a contemporary Peruvian place called Piqueos. The food was interesting and delicious (especially the complimentary fried garbanzo bean appetizer, yucca balls and pulled pork sandwich), and we received excellent service. Restaurants & cafes where we had good experiences in other parts of the city included Tuba Turkish, Red Cafe, Philz Coffee and Dynamo Donuts in the Mission district, as well as Golos and Alegrias (Spanish tapas) in the Marina. I had been planning to take public transportation, but being the Californian that I am ended up driving everywhere. I had no problems with traffic despite it being an exceptionally busy weekend (Fleet Week, World Cup, Giants Game, 49rs, music festival in Golden Gate park). I was able to find the less traveled routes (looked at my GPS navigation, and then drove parallel streets to those it suggested). I was able to get from Marina Jr. High (near the water) to the studio in 15 minutes flat after we watched the Saturday air show. I highly recommend this studio, and hope to be returning to it in future trips to SF.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • El apartamento de Sara está bien decorado, limpio y es tal y como lo muestra en las fotos. Es una buena anfitriona que mantiene contacto por si tienes alguna duda. Sin duda lo recomiendo

  • Sara is a lovely and welcoming host and Boo the dog is very friendly! :) The place is nice and quiet and Sara provides everything you need to make you feel comfortable. Great location: colourful and lively neighbourhood, lots of bars, restaurants and supermarkets in walking distance. Enough bus stops around to get to the City Center and back. Great place to stay for exploring the city!

  • First of all, the neighborhood was very nice. Victorian style houses were wonderful. We found everything as described previously, so there were no surprises. Sara made us feel cared from the first moment and was very helpful on our last day, which we appreciated a lot. She was always checking our requests immediately and tried to solve them as soon as possible. Even her dog is very welcoming! The garden is beautiful and it is shiny in the apartment. We even had games in our cupboard! :)

    Kubra2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Sara's Air BNB! It is the perfect place to stay in a gorgeous and quintessential San Francisco street. We felt right at home and loved how beautifully decorated it was, with a cosy fireplace and stunning back garden. We liked that it was so close to Golden Gate Park, we hired bikes from there and rode across GG Bridge. So much fun! Couldn't recommend this Air BNB more highly for anyone visiting SF.

    Chelsea2016-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sara's place was just perfect. She gave us a warm welcome and a bottle of chilled wine when we arrived. We found everything as shown in the pictures, even more cosy. The small bench in the garden was an ideal spot to enjoy the morning coffee ( which was given to us as Delicious nespresso capsules from our generous host). The apartment is just around the corner from Haight and its vivid neighborhood, so we really enjoyed coming home to our nice, safe and clean retreat.

    Heike2014-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was awesome and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Sara was wonderful and extremely accommodating.

    Russell2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was not able to meet Sara as she was out of town during our visit. Although her friend, who was house sitting and attending to the flat, was very kind and helpful at all times of our stay. Sara was also helpful and prompt in her communications in making arrangements for our stay. We loved Sara's space, for 3 of us who each needed our own space. I put my blow up mattress on the floor in the kitchen area and slept well, mtg daughter had the bedroom, and my mom, 89, slept on the fold out twin couch and said it was very comfortable. I loved the neighborhood as it is charming, safe and quiet and only a block from Haight Ashbury, a delightful part of SF I'd never visited before. I loved the ease of walking to places, and also driving and finding easy parking. The Buena Vista Park is just a couple of blocks up the hill, it's a beautiful place to walk and enjoy views of the city. If you take your dog, this is a very dog friendly neighborhood. We enjoyed the fact that any area of SF was within 15 minutes, the location is wonderful and the retreat is a treat!!

  • We had a great time at Sara’s home. Sara is friendly and was very responsive to texts. Her home is quiet & cozy. Good location if you want to explore Haight-Ashbury or Nopa areas of San Francisco. Yummy restaurants on Cole Street -a short walk. Only issue we had was WiFi was inconsistent.

We love the tranquility of our very beautiful mountain and the spectular ocean views
  • Awesome location with an absolutely amazing view!!! The pictures can't truly make it justice. It was so great sitting out on the patio for any meals, but especially breakfasts. It was close to great hikes that we just loved! Also a short drive to PCH and some of the best beaches in Malibu. The options for having a bite are plentiful both down on PCH and up in the canyons and we really enjoyed how easy it was to change the scenery from beach to mountains to great views and to cosy wooded areas. The place it self has all the amenities we required for our week and a half stay with our 9 month old baby. A big plus was the tangerines and citrus trees just out side for fresh vitamin C. When we arrived the shower knobs was not working correctly but David took care of that right away and the next day the plumber had fix the issue. David and Ling where very attentive hosts. Only drawback was that there is no insulation between upstairs and this apartment so you can basically hear what people are saying in a normal voice from upstairs. We had no major issues with this as the people who rented upstairs during our stay didn't make much noise. Also it does get very hot in the day time in the apartment so you should note that there's no air conditioning. We had no problem since the windows can open and you can pull down the window shades. And it cools of quickly with the help of a fan in the evening. Also adding we where there in January. We really love this place and would gladly come back any time! /Daniel, Stina & Billie

  • What an amazing view… I run out the words to describe how spectacular this place is ! it’s one of the most stunning places I have ever been. If you are looking for a place to unplug and forget the world, then stop searching and book this cottage. Ling and David were very helpful, thank you guys for sharing your house. Great experience, Definitely will go back again.

  • It was very nice to stay in this mountain house with a great view of ocean. My husband enjoyed seeing different kind of birds and wild animals. I went hiking every morning. There was a lots fun. We had wonderful time there. Thanks for Ling and David open their house for us.

    Jill2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A little peace of Heaven. If you want to escape for awhile by yourself, this is the ideal place. High up in the canyons and rock steps leading to house makes you feel like your in heaven. Please note if you do not like canyon driving and or are not steady on your feet this would not be a good choice. The winding road sometimes is 10 miles per hour

    Beverly2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! Wish we could extend our stay by few more days just to enjoy the house.

    Nita2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay in this marvellous mountain retreat. Everything was as described. We made good use of the suggestions and instructions left by Ling and David and those we read in the visitors book. We particularly enjoyed our hikes in the Solstice Canyon and the Topanga State Park and walking around the Malibu Lagoon. we saw so many birds, our only regret was leaving our binoculars at home.

    Laurence2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at this Malibu Hideaway! The pictures definitely do it justice and we had a bey pleasant time. We highly recommend this stay and look forward to returning!

We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants, and are perfectly situated to walk or take local transportation to nearby visit museums. Step out the yellow door and there are walks through wooded trails to Baker Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End, and Ocean Beach -- to the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park, the DeYoung Museum and/or the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, with its lakes and beautiful gardens of the Arboretum. If you prefer to sidewalk explore, it's fun to walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello, stopping in at the pubs and Chinese restaurants (little Chinatown) -- head a bit further to Fillmore Street, or take the full journey on the California 1 trolley (electric bus) - 7 miles to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk) through the distinctly different neighborhoods that make San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner -- Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater are just around the corner. There's something for everyone.

• The unit was precisely as described, everything was in order and really clean & neat! Good location as well, a quiet neighborhood minutes away from the Golden Gate Bridge. We traveled with a rental car and managed to find parking space nearby on every occasion. All in all, very recommendable!

    Sebastian2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very clean and very cute. The bedroom was very cute with a small yard. Dennis was very friendly. The location was pretty good. One street away from lots of Asian restaurants, markets and tea places. And it's near golden gate park.

    Jacob2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! Clean and spacious! We had free street parking and we're just a swift ride away from downtown! It was wonderful and homey!

    Samantha2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location of this place, walking distance to Golden Gate Park and so many great neighborhood spots. It was right next to an awesome little cafe where we got coffee and breakfast just about every morning, and across the street from a little grocery store where we got a few necessities. When we needed to go elsewhere we just grabbed an Uber, and there were always a few cars in the area. Dennis was an awesome host, very responsive and helpful! We had a delayed flight and didn't arrive until midnight, and he had given us perfect instructions for how to get into the apartment. The only thing that wasn't perfect about our stay was how cold it was! This isn't really the fault of the hosts but the apartment really keeps the cold in and doesn't get a lot of sunlight. They did have heated bedding which was really excellent and made sleeping more comfortable though!!

    Rebecca2016-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home in the heart of a great neighbourhood, location was perfect for exploring the parks nearby. I would definitely recommend this place to those looking for an enjoyable stay in San Fran!

  • Dennis and Nancy were so lovely and the apartment has a great location - buss downtown run frequently and the area has very good coffee shops and restaurants. It was clean and cozy and the kitchen had all the utilities one can ask for. You can hear some noise from upstairs and since it's in the basement it can get a bit cold and damp. Other than that it was great!

[No monthly rentals] Soulful cottage keeps you in the heart of it all, while giving you total privacy and quiet. We designed it to be a warm and bright retreat from the hustle of everyday life. It really feels remote and peaceful, and yet it's minutes away from the best of Venice.
"Thea & George were awesome hosts and their place is absolutely amazing. It's a perfectly appointed private cottage tucked away on a quiet street on the back of their property. We wanted a place close to the beach but far enough away so as to not be in the middle of the action all the time - this place was the perfect medium." "Thea and George's cottage, set off a quiet road, is bright, clean, and cheerful. It's newly renovated, with great attention to detail, making for a relaxing stay. The location is a short walk to the main drag of Abbot Kinney, where you'll find lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, and the buzz of Venice. Overall, it's a beautiful flat and is recommended for anyone who wants a relaxing time in a great neighborhood with friendly, attentive hosts." This is a super-sweet cottage in the back of our property, perfect for a professional looking for a quiet place to come home to after a hard day's work, for a couple wanting some peace and quiet, or for a family with one or two small children. We've just renovated it, and furnished it with lots of love and care. We're one mile from Venice Beach, half a mile to the Venice Canals, and six blocks from the famous Abbot Kinney shopping street, with LA's trendiest boutiques and restaurants. The cottage is roomy and very bright, with five skylights and wood floors. It has a full kitchen, with fridge, toaster and 4-burner modern gas stove. The bedroom area can be closed off from the rest of the space by a semi-circular folding door, and it is furnished with a queen bed. The living area is spacious and bright, with a desk, fold-out couch and TV. The cottage has its own outdoor table and chairs with an umbrella, idyllically situated under a big bougainvillea vine. We provide: - linens, towels and beach towels - a full kitchen with pots and pans, tableware and some basic cooking staples (ketchup, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, sugar, coffee, tea, etc.) - shampoo, conditioner, soap - two adult bikes (use at no charge, you fix them if they break) - wifi - there is ample free parking on the street, you just have to yield the street cleaning signs to avoid getting a ticket on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 8-10am. Please read our other reviews to see what kind of hosts we are and to get an idea of the service we provide.
Abbot Kinney has become the hottest boutique and restaurant destination on the West Side, and it's only six blocks away. The beach is only a mile away, with the famed Venice Canals halfway there.

  • Todo muy bien. El sitio es cómodo y tal como se promociona. Los anfitriones estuvieron disponibles cuando hubo un inconveniente y lo solucionaron rápidamente.

  • George and Thea were wonderful hosts. The cottage was spacious, clean, comfortable, and trendy. The beach and local attractions were within walking distance. Would definitely stay again!

  • We had an amazing time! The unit is a cute little cottage set back off street in a private area. When we arrived it was all set up for us with the keys and instructions left in a clearly visible area. We had no issues during our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

    Patrick2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, very cool and large cottage, always responsive hosts! The cottage has a particularly positive atmosphere in a calm street, though very close to the trendy Abbot Kinney with great restaurants. We would definitely recommend this place and would be very happy to come back.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage & loved riding the bikes down to the beach. The decor is cute but we felt a little exposed due to the lack of blinds in the cottage. The Check in and out was flawless and parking in the street tight but easy. There was coffee, tea etc in the cottage for us but no creamer which was disappointing to discover first thing when we were tired and in need of a hot drink - meant a quick early morning bike ride to shops for some milk. We never met George or Thea and when we found the bikes needed the seat moving and handle bars tightening we found out they lived about half an hour away (the bikes were one of the main selling points over other places on airbnb for us). We found some tools thanks to the people staying in the house and rectified this ourselves. They also informed us how to stop the bikes as we'd never seen bikes with no breaks! Overall we really enjoyed staying in the cottage, it's location and style. Venice beach is a MUST. Thanks for having us:)

    Samantha2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfect for our needs and the communication from the host was great. From the well equipped kitchen to plenty of towels for the bath. Cozy yet contemporary - great location.

    Gina2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Great location and super cute. Easy parking on the street and close enough to walk to the beach. George and Thea were very nice as well as Roxie their dog.

  • Merete was very helpful and accommodating with a late check-in. She made sure that we knew where everything was located in the loft and was available if I needed to get in touch with her. The loft itself was so lovely - a cute little place :)

    Yujin2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is the coolest air bnb in San Diego. Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time, yard is fantastic and the bed is comfy as hell! Close to shops and restaurants. Host is awesome and I recommend this place to anyone coming to San Diego.

    Tommy 2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to experience the life of a true San diegan! The house is beautiful and stylish. Very nice neighborhood and Merete is a wonderful host!

    Surya2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Merete's place! She was so hospitable and responsive to our every need. The neighborhood is charming. There is a panadería at the end of the block and a taquería next door. It is a quiet neighborhood and within short driving distance to Gaslamp and Coronado. The loft itself is so cute, very clean, and well furnished. I would recommend this place to groups of 1-3. The fourth person is a tighter squeeze, but it is also doable.

    Kate2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is located in a very central location - it was easy to get to everywhere we needed to go. The bed is a cute space, although I would suggest bringing your own pillows if you can. It also can get a bit dry in the bed, as it gets warmer on the second floor. Merete is quick to respond and as she lives close by, she is able to lend you anything or help you however she can. Overall a cozy stay and such an architecturally cute place. Well worth it!

    Angel2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Merete's place is great for one or two. The space is super-cool with a nice bathroom and kitchenette. It took just a few minutes to get to the airport and the price was right!

    Stephen2018-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good little apartment in San Diego. Be prepared to drive or Uber to places, but otherwise a cool space and a GREAT shower.

    James2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay. Merete was super helpful and stayed up late to let us in. The place was clean and cozy.

  • Great house to stay in. Close to downtown Santa Monica and the pier. Mary was a fantastic host and responded quickly to anything we asked. Would stay again

    Stefan & Selda2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was okay. Location is nice and the host did a great job with the check in process. I think I was disappointed because the guest house is not shown in the pictures, and I expected to be staying in the home shown on the listing. The alley that you have to use to enter the guesthouse is poorly lit. The malfunctioning door was also a nuisance. I think the guesthouse is a nice place to stay but very overpriced at $250 per night.

    Tarak2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect! The pictures are exactly what you get. Beautiful place and super convenient. Could not be happier.

    Gary2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and guest house on a quiet street in Santa Monica. Mary sent a helpful guide to the house before our arrival. Being able to park in the garage is a huge bonus to travelers as Los Angeles parking can be difficult. The guest house was spacious, modern, and clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Ryan2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house is beautiful, modern and clean and just as shown in the pictures. Appliances are brand new. Parking in the provided garage spot was convenient and secure just a few steps around the corner. The walk in closet provides plenty of space for luggage and clothing with plenty of hangers and shelves/drawers. There is a Trader Joe's about a 10 minute walk down Pico, and a Starbucks right at the end of the street. Lots of other shops and restaurants too. The only mirror in the space was the one over the bathroom sink so would respectfully suggest the addition of a simple full length mirror perhaps on the closet door, which would make getting ready in the morning much easier. We stayed for 3 days and had a small issue with lack of hot water in the shower. We did let Mary know and she said it was fixed, but we were not able to get the water in the shower any warmer than lukewarm, even though the water from the bathroom faucet and in the kitchen was hot. It wasn't a question of not understanding how to use the shower, we had turned as high as it would go. All in all it was a great place to stay in SM.

    Jane2016-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed the space! Easy location just 2-3 miles from the beach. The home is beautiful. If I had one critique, while I loved the openness with all the glass I thought privacy was lacking a bit with no blinds or anything allowing full coverage from the main house.

    Adam2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely reccommend to stay here. Clean house, nice neighborhood, nice hosts. Everything you'd want to have.

Tks for everything guys!! :)

    LUJÁN2017-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Jeff was an outstanding host! He was super flexible, helpful and very accommodating. Even more so, the accommodations were simply fantastic. The bed was super comfortable and the room, artwork and bathroom were just gorgeous. The location was perfect for excellent dining and we simply could not be happier with our stay. We will certainly be back!! Thanks Jeff and Mike!!

    Michael2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was very welcoming and the property listed was exactly like it was shown, very clean, the room and bathroom were lovely. My husband and I enjoyed eating breakfast at the neighborhood restaurants, Jane and Sweet Maple. The neighborhood had nice boutiques to shop at and was very convenient to restaurants, groceries, gas station, and parking was plentiful. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again.

    Joanie2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A convenient and quiet location with nearby shops, restaurants and local activity. Jeffery provided helpful information about the area and attractions.

  • Really beautiful room in a lovely historic house, beautifully updated. Very clean hip decor, super modern bathroom. I think the ceiling must be 14 feet high! We loved it. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating with our special requests. Cool neighborhood, we'd love to stay there again.

    Dave2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a great stay! The place is beautiful, VERY clean, and it is in such a great location. We loved the decor and upscale appliances. If you’re looking for a place that’s very central, this is the place to book! We were also able to leave our bags earlier than check in time which was so nice because our flight came in so early. Overall, one of our favorite Airbnb’s!

    Juliette2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing experience at Jeff's place. This was our first time booking through airbnb and Jeff's place was a perfect way to start our trip. Room and bathroom was really nice and clean, felt like we were staying in a hotel! Location was perfect... Just far enough out from the hustle and bustle, plenty of restaurants and there were bus routes nearby to get us in and out of town. Jeff and Mike were really nice, helped us with our bags when we arrived late at night :) and also suggested some amazing restaurants in the area. Thanks again guys!!

Tucked away in quite pocket of trendy North Park, our charming guest house provides comfortable accommodations with quick access to some of San Diego's best restaurants, breweries, parks, and beaches.
Feel free to use deck and take in the view. The backyard area is shared with my family. Feel free to enjoy the space and let me know if you have any questions.
North Park is bustling with restaurants, cafes, music venues, boutiques, microbreweries, and unique historical homes.
  • Ian's guest house was great! It's a quiet, family friendly place in a central location; close to Balboa Park and lots of great restaurants/shops. Ian was a great host as well. It was unusually cold at night when we were in town and he purchased a space heater to make sure we were comfortable. I would stay at his guest house again in a heartbeat!

    Joey2016-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse was impeccably clean and organized. We cooked breakfast in the mornings and found everything we needed in the cozy kitchen. The French press was new to us, so it does take a little practice. Upstairs our bed was plush and extremely comfortable with the cool, evening breeze coming through the windows. There is Netflix on tv, and WiFi available, but no cable. This property is located in a beautiful neighborhood and is a 5 minute drive to the San Diego Zoo; 15 minutes to Seaport Village, Little Italy, Boardwalk Pier. La Jolla Cove is a must while you're here, and it's only about 25 minutes from the guesthouse. Absolutely a lovely place to stay in San Diego!

    Alma2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. House is located in a quiet residential area but only a short ride to great restaurants and cafes. The house was adorable and well appointed. Loved it!

    Liz2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Even before arriving, Ian reassured me that anything I needed he would take care of. He let me know that the place was able to be checked in early! (Definitely helped) When I first walked in I was taken back by how this place was set up. It has everything you could possibly need and it was very clean/organized. Ordered some Italian food from a nearby restaurant (Lefty's) I highly recommend it. My girlfriend and I loved the place and if we are ever in the area we will come back. Thank you Ian for everything!

    Danny2017-02-15T00:00:00Z

Ian was so pleasant and helpful without being intrusive. He was the perfect host and was immediately responsive to messages. My husband and I absolutely recommend Ian’s place!

Rugged, beautiful landscape with picturesque mountain views and wide open cloudless blue skies. At the foot of the door, magical hiking trails take you across the Santa Monica mountains. It’s a perfect spot for people who love the outdoors, but also want to be close enough to the city. Beauty. Simplicity. Nature.
TOP OF THE HILL ACRES will bring you an even more memorable experience this fall and winter. It's also Our favorite time of year. Beautiful sunsets to enjoy. We are still in a dry spell, high hazard fire zone at this time of year. The canyon weather is dry and we need to avoid any sparks of any kind. The morning sunrise warms the world around you and takes you into the twinkling stars at night. You can prepare meals on our outdoor barbecue and choose between outdoor dining or snuggling up amongst the cushions of the Moroccan nook. Two trailers are for our guests to enjoy. The smaller trailer provides a small kitchen including a fridge, toaster oven and kettle. The larger trailer awaits for a cozy night sleep. Please note: there is no electricity in the large trailer. Candle light, lantern, flashlight and fairy lights will help guide you. Planets and stars come out by the thousands, and the hoot of owls and the call of the mountain coyotes connects us to the beauty of nature. Limited wifi is avail for our guests to connect if needed.
Great hiking trails. Awesome bird watching and home to our wild coyotes. ( they are harmless, just don't bring your cat) 15 minutes from the best California surfing and sandy beaches. Shopping is 10-15 minutes away. Topanga eclectic shopping and celebrations happening every weekend!!

  • Lydia was a fantastic host and her place was a dream! Just like the photos. loved it so much. definitely coming back!

    Alison2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Simply amazing, views are breathtaking, the thought put into detail is exquisite. I definitely recommend this place.

  • Amazing experience in a wonderful location. Great chance to get off grid a bit and enjoy the quiet surroundings. Definitely recommend!!

    Neil2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia was extremely welcoming and easy to communicate with. Trailer was a unique and fun gateway. Outdoor shower was blissful and something different from ordinary stays which is exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend staying here and we can't wait to go again!

    Farah2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly wan't to say that you shouldn't rent this place to make sure it would be available for ourselves when we visit the west coast. But that wouldn't be fair.. This is by far the best Airbnb experience we ever had. It's so special and unique. You are literally on top of the world. It's a real clamping experience. Lydia and Dean are both beautiful people and very welcoming. We enjoyed the fire pit, the cosy bed, the outdoor shower, the view, the sunset and the delicious coffee and toast Lydia made for us. A true recommendation!

    Nikita2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a sanctuary of peace and simplicity! Lydia, Dean and Dest are all so kind and it's admirable the work they have done creating this property. They do well to keep you comfortable even prepping the coffee for you when they would leave for the day. My partner and I feel very fortunate to have visited this place as it is such an example of the beauty of simple living. Just up the road beyond their property are a long connection of trails that can take you all over the mountains of Topanga. We watched the sunset from the trail beside the wild buckwheat on our final night. We especially loved the outdoor shower surrounded by the tall stalks of tobacco plants. Nothing like bathing under the sun :) Already thinking about coming back - especially to see the completion of their new simple home built on the property below!

    Caitlin2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! My boyfriend and I spent New Years here and it was perfect. Right when we got there Lydia greeted us with her dogs and was very accommodating. The attention to every little detail made our stay special. Twinkling lights keep everything lit at night and the bed is comfy. It gets a little chilly in the evening, but it’s to be expected for January. Lydia had plenty of blankets to feel warm. You have a perfect view of the moon, which was big and bright during our stay. We also brought food to grill. The fridge was the perfect size and so was the grill. It is a glamping experience (outdoor shower/outhouse bathroom). It is the fanciest outhouse I have ever seen. It is even decorated on the inside. Staying here was a memorable experience and beyond our expectations. Thanks Lydia!

Private loft apartment in Queen Ann Victorian home, Cool 60's/70's Decor Vibe. Located in San Diego's Historical Sherman Heights district, Centrally located, 10 minutes walk to East village, 20 minute walk to Gaslamp District. Private Entrance. Ladder to Loft bedroom, Must Use Caution. Sorry but may not be the best fit for comfort for big and tall guests.
Our beautiful home is an example of a Queen Anne Victorian two-story house built in San Diego in 1889. We converted one level of the house as two separate vacation rentals. The loft apartment bedroom is accessed by a ladder/stair that must be climbed up/down using a ladder, pictured in listing. The apartment is on the second floor accessed by an outside staircase. It is fully equipped and has a private entrance and cozy living area. This unique apartment can be your home away from home!We are a few blocks east of downtown San Diego (with free street parking) and a 5 minute drive/cab ride from the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter (on 5th Ave) where you will find great restaurants, coffee houses, bars and nightclubs. We are minutes away from Petco Park, the new baseball stadium, Convention Center, San Diego International Airport and the Santa Fe Train Station. Sherman Heights is the Historical Heart of San Diego's beginning. Many beautiful homes from the end of the nineteenth century can be seen throughout the area. It is 5 minute car ride down Market street to Gaslamp Quarter Downtown. Bus stop is 2 minutes from house.
Sherman Heights is located east of the East Village of downtown San Diego and only 10 blocks from Petco Park, the new baseball stadium for the San Diego Padres. We are just south of Golden Hill and north of Logan Heights. The neighborhood was designated a historic district by the City of San Diego in 1987. Sherman Heights consists of primarily historic homes, which border Downtown San Diego’s East village. The Downtown San Diego development boom over the last decade and its inland crawl through East Village has altered a once fading neighborhood. Today, you will see a huge movement underway in the preservation and restoration of the neighborhood. Homes and buildings are being restored back to their original character and charm. Sherman Heights is a very diverse neighborhood shifting from mainly established Latino community to a younger Hipster style crowd. Sherman Heights also hosts the annual events, the Latino Music Festival, Soap Box Derby, Open House Fair and Day of the Dead festival.
  • Raddest loft ever. The neighborhood wasn't my favorite in the world, however the details of the loft from the cool "Chinese Food" neon light, the vintage record player with vinyls, and the awesome views of downtown from the upstairs sleeping area made up for it. Not to mention, Rene....he's very professional, super accommodating & extremely fast at responding. He was very friendly, informative, easy to talk to & he was so nice to offer chairs, umbrella, sheet, towels & ice chest for the beach! Everything was clean, had more than just the essentials, cool seating area right outside the front door to have coffee in the (Website hidden by Airbnb) was a great stay & next time I'm in SD, I will stay here again. Loved it!!

  • Rene was a great host - we had water and milk in the fridge upon our arrival, and he checked in to make sure we were comfortable. The unit was very private, which we appreciated.

    Catherine2015-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable loft. So many appliances included in the kitchen. Rene even had milk, orange juice, and water stocked in the fridge! There was a hair dryer and curling iron in the bathroom which was super thoughtful and Rene was very understanding about our later check out which was great. Would stay again!

    Bryan2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was in a perfect location for us since we were in town for the MLB All Star Game. We were easily able to walk downtown to Petco Park, the place was decorated really cool, parking was easy in the neighborhood, and it was convenient to the highway for us to explore other parts of San Diego. Rene was a great host and very responsive!

  • this place really is as groovy as the pics! i was surprised how big the loft was and how spacious the whole place felt. easy to get around even without a car. grocery shops were within walking distance, as well as bars and restaurants. i definitely recommend! thanks rene!

  • This was my 2nd visit to San Diego and i decided to stay in Rene 2nd accommodation that he offers and as per the first it was a great experience. The location of the house is perfect for everything you want to see and do in San Diego. He also has information on the table as you arrive with information about the city and suggestions of what to do which is a great touch. Ample street parking and a very quiet and safe neighborhood.

  • Lynns house is just a beutiful as the pictures make them appear, it's extremely clean and has the cutest homey feel to it. Our room was just our bed with a dresser and closet and a TV, it was cute but I was surprised that the bathroom was down the hall from our room. Our door also didn't have a lock on it. However, she was always quick to respond to any of my messages and they gave us as much room as we needed. Thanks again Lynn!

A perfectly designed Hollywood Hills open plan space with unobstructed panoramic city views all the way to the ocean...A total private guest house with the convenience of being minutes away from Hollywood attractions, the sunset strip & Griffith Park observatory.
An extremely well designed open plan guest house: complete with queen bed, bathtub & sink, private toilet, small fridge, with inside and outside hang out space and a strong bluetooth speaker for music. Also included is a hot plate, all cooking utensils necessary, a Nespresso machine with pods and an American standard coffee pot with coffee and sugar, a microwave, and filtered drinking water. (the iMac and screen are removed from the desk, and the unit will be delivered with no clutter of any kind. Bring your devices as they will be happy with the blazing fast internet and power ports all over the house, inside and out.) Toilet and sink are located 1 step from the French doors, behind the antler of the main picture of the listing. Fridge also located outside the unit by one step from the opposite french door. Guest house requires your ability to climb many stairs from the street level, so it is best as a guest you are comfortable with stairs.
Beachwood Canyon is the best neighborhood in Los Angeles, giving any guest immediate access to the best attractions in a fraction of minutes down the hill. It is also right beside one of the largest city parks in America, as well as the famous Griffith Park Observatory. There's hiking trails, the Hollywood sign, horseback riding and almost all the outdoor concert venues within a few minutes from the house.
  • Beautiful view and clean, sleek design. Would recommend.

  • We couldn't have been more pleased with this Airbnb experience. Mathias is a fantastic host. He was very available to answer our questions and made us feel welcome and right at home. The space is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The bed is very comfortable and the view of the city both during the day and night is amazing. We look forward to revisiting this space again in the future...definitely at the top of our list of favorite stays.

  • Mathias a warm and welcoming host. The neighborhood is one of my favorite's in LA. Near really great restaurants, close to Griffith Park, and the Observatory and Hollywood sign. And if you're in LA for work, I found the guest house was close enough to most meetings that drive time was very manageable. It's a lovely, airy space with fantastic views of the city.

  • We were in town for a quick Saturday show at Hollywood Bowl and could not have been happier at Mathias's place. It is a great location and the apartment is perfect for a retreat in the hills. Enjoyed the view, outdoor shower, and the location as it is very close to Griffith Park which we spent the day exploring. Would highly recommend. Mathias was a gracious host and provided excellent recommendations that added to our time in LA. The layout is smart, well designed, and we felt like rock-stars. It's a great experience.

This fully furnished second story South Mission bayside studio offers relaxed beach living. This studio sleeps 2 (Queen Bed), 2 Stand Up Paddle Boards, 2 Beach cruisers & 2 Boogie Boards are provided; private off street parking; steps to the bay and short stroll to the beach.

    Amy2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was basically a 7 minute walk to the south mission jetty. The rental was a second level studio that had an incredible zen vibe, tons of natural light and windows, beach cruisers, outdoor shower, gas grill, very comfy living space, cedar paneling, cedar roofing (with a massive skylight) and all the needed amenities. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet the host, Laura, but here communication was right on point and she got me dialed right in. Best suited for 1-2 people.... I wrote a bit more on my travel blog about this (Website hidden by Airbnb) The vacation rental in South Mission beach are distinct form the other vacation rentals in area code 92109 (Pacific Beach, North Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, South Mission and Crown Point) because of it’s tranquility. Anyone that has visited Pacific Beach proper know that the main drag Garnet is filled with all sorts of restaurants, bars and a great college vibe. For those seeking to keep it a bit more mellow and enjoy larger spaces, big spreads of sand and hit one of the most epic surf breaks in all of San Diego a South Mission Beach vacation rental, like the zen studio, will be a score.

  • We came on our honeymoon, stayed a whole week. Loved the space, the Windows were open all week as it was 75° all week. Quiet neighborhood, Sara's taco shop on the corner, the beach is less than a two minute walk and we honestly felt like it was a private beach. Loved the location next to all the good food spots and tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. All in all great space, great location, great price. We might come back next year!

1 bd/bth apt. is centrally located, less than 2 blocks from beach & main avenue, where you'll find the heart of OB. From restaurants, antique shops, bars, & all things eclectic to OB. Full Kitchen, wifi, & SMALL (12.5') alley parking space.
The bedroom contains a full/queen size bed and a long comfy couch with a TV that we can provide access to Roku with our Netflix & Amazon Prime accounts. Will also provide wifi, kitchen, and an alley parking spot that will fit a compact car 12.5 feet in length. 2 adult size very old bikes available for use.
Ocean Beach is an old hippie town known for it's 70's reputation. There are some great restaurants and natural wonders to experience. Such as, Sunset Cliffs which are amazing and a sight to see before eroding away. Dog Beach is just a couple blocks away as well as the longest west coast pier, which doesn't require a fishing license.
  • Kristy and Wade are awesome! Their place is cozy and clean. We loved the patio space cute and quaint especially after a day at the beach or a short walk to town and even a long bike ride!!! OB was great and we are looking forward to coming back and staying at Kristys place no need to stay any where else!

    Jodie2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • I loved Kristy and Wade's quaint little place! It was relaxing and peaceful and within walking distance to the beach. I would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

  • Great place to stay if you want to walk to breweries or the ocean. Parking spot in back is a huge plus. Quiet area and just a short walk to nightlife.

    Jeffrey2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was only me second AirBNB and I have to say, I just completely loved the whole experience. The place was set up perfectly. It’s in a wonderful neighborhood, and the secluded patio is more unique than any hotel or other experience you could ask for. Easy walk to the main OB area or the water. Planes did not bother me much. Bedroom was very cozy, bathroom has plenty of room and amenities, and kitchen is clean with a small sitting area. I slept well every night and enjoyed the patio. Was even better than expected. Kristy, as a host, was very responsive and friendly. I appreciated all the info I received. Check in and checkout very easy! Would recommend to anyone looking to experience Ocean Beach or a great location to have as a hub center for San Diego.

  • The Hobbit House was great! Two blocks to the beach and tons of restaurants within walking distance. The outside are was smoking friendly and we really liked hanging out there in the evenings. Kristy was awesome, easy to get in touch with and she even let me play her guitar! We had a great stay, I definitely recommend her place if staying in OB.

    David2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is cute and well located, a short walk to the beach, bars, restaurants, etc. Kristy has thought of pretty much everything you could want in the home. The planes are quite loud, but she does have earplugs for that!

    Tracy2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at the hobbit home! It's walkable to the beach and all the cute shops and restaurants in OB, it was quiet and relaxing, and comfortable and adorably decorated. There's a fair amount of noise from planes flying overhead, but you adjust and I didn't think it was too bad. I'd definitely stay here again!

Our home is located near Venice Beach without being in the middle of the "craziness" and also close to LAX. The Hobbit House is a newly built structure which you will LOVE! The smell of the wood and the fact that you are sleeping covered by mother earth gives it a very special vibe.
All the little spaces in our backyard make our home very special and unique. You might meet other Airbnb Guests and enjoy some sun in our serene backyard, which we call our outside living room...
Our neighborhood is very quiet and save. There is a shopping mall area with movie theaters and grocery stores about 10 minute walk from our house. If you go the other direction there are many little eateries, where you can indulge in various cultural foods such as Sushi, Vegan Thai Food, Mexican and much more. We are close to everything. It's great for biking to the beaches and walking distance to the marina shopping mall. the 90 fwy provides easy access to many places.
  • We arrived late and in inclement weather, and we were still greeted by the warm smiles of Sanni and her family. Not only were they great, but their space was beautiful, as well. They've clearly poured a lot of their heart and soul into making it a lovely place, and it's paid off. I'd highly recommend this getaway to anyone staying in the LA area.

  • We had a great stay at the beautiful hobbit house. Interesting, inspiring and cozy place. Thank you Sanni & Helene.

  • The Hobbit was an unique experience and it felt like a fun cabin camping retreat. The house was cozy, quiet and warm.

    Shannon2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Hobbit House for 2 nights and it was just as pictured! Beautiful, felt like we were glamping. I would recommend this to everyone. Shops and restaurants aren't as close as we would like and Venice Beach is a trek but the stay here was great!

    Jessica2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit House is straight out of a story book. You enter The Circle through a wooden gate and find yourself in an oasis that is as quant as it is tranquil. The Hobbit House is accompanied by three other tiny homes in the backyard of Sanni's home, which I believe is also available on Airbnb. You follow a path of rocks to the front of the Hobbit House, which actually faces the back wall of the yard -- it was nice having sunlight shine through the transparent "front wall" along with the privacy that the positioning provided. The Hobbit House itself was more spacious (and gorgeous) than I thought. I was able to stand straight up throughout the home; I only had to crouch to get into bed. There's a great table for working and eating, as well several hangers and places for luggage. I'd absolutely recommend Sanni's place. And thank you, Sanni, for the stay!

    Lauren2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit house was a perfect amount of space for my husband, 1-year-old son and me. Since we flew in and traveled light without a pack and play, my son and I slept in the larger bed while my husband slept in the twin size. The only issue my (tall) husband had was he'd occasionally bump his head on the low ceiling near his bed, so just be aware while getting up from bed. Other than that, the space was clean, hostess was friendly and accommodating and the area was peaceful and unique. We'd definitely stay again. We also made friends with the other guests which is a plus for our sociable little family. Thanks for the great stay!

    Michelle2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room was smaller than I expected but overall it was an okay experience.

This well designed studio is located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in San Diego - Mission Hills. Surrounded by canyons with private entry and quiet patio. Only a couple of blocks away from great dining, grocery stores and shopping.
This beautiful canyon studio apartment "the Roost" designed by an architect and interior designer offers a quiet peaceful setting, yet it is close to all San Diego's popular destinations, such as Balboa Park, Hillcrest, Little Italy, Downtown, Old Town, the beaches, the Zoo, Sea World and Coronado, all just a mere 10 minutes or less away. Relax on the patio with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the birds and the zen setting. The kitchen is small, but well equipped to make simple meals. The kitchen has a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, two single portable induction cooktops, hot water boiler, toaster and the choice of a French press, or a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers. We will try to leave you fresh eggs from our chickens, although in the fall and winter they do not lay many eggs. If you prefer to eat out, some of San Diego's popular restaurants such as Brooklyn Girl, the Red Door, the Patio, Farmers Bodega, Lefty's Pizza or Harley Grey's are just around the corner. Starbucks, Meshuggah Shack, Heartwork Coffee Bar, Kettle and Stone and other coffee places are just a couple of blocks away as well.
Mission Hills is one of the most central located neighborhoods in San Diego. Most attractions (Balboa Park with many museums, the Zoo, Sea World, the Ball Park and Fashion Valley) and popular neighborhoods (Old Town, Little Italy, Downtown, South Park, North Park, Hillcrest, Coronado, Point Loma, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla) are less than a 15 minute drive away.
  • Yvonne and Chuck made us feel very welcome and introduced us to their amazing studio. It's a truly unique place, secluded and welcoming, with a great patio overlooking the valley. The place had everything we needed to live comfortably and more (fresh eggs from their own chickens!) and both my girlfriend and I slept very well in the comfortable bed. Another big plus is the location, with walking distance to a great deal of restaurants and bars. Would gladly stay here again!

  • This studio is exactly what it appears to be - and then some. Quaint, charming, with a beautiful canyon view and the private entry made for an absolutely serene and relaxing weekend. The hosts were kind, clean and eco-conscious. Fresh organic eggs were waiting for me when I arrived, along with a bottle of red wine. I couldnt have been more happy to spend my vacation in the Mission Hills, 5 minutes from Downtown and central to many other shops, restaurants and beaches. I cant wait to stay here again!

  • There are many Airbnbs in San Diego. We poured over the listings, trying to pick one — and I kept coming back to "The Roost" because of the charming photos and stellar reviews. Having stayed there, I can say that the photos and reviews are all accurate, and then some. It is such a beautiful space, designed well and decorated lovingly. The view into the canyon was gorgeous, the outdoor space was great, and visiting with the chickens as I put eggshells into the compost was a treat. The location cannot be beat; it was 15-20 minutes or less to get anywhere we needed. Inside, it's not a huge space (since we're coming from a NYC apartment that wasn't a problem) but again, it's so well designed. A table that fits flush against the wall. A bathroom used efficiently (though it did take some skill to use the shower). A small kitchen that had truly everything we needed, plus storage space for clothes and other items. This Airbnb is also about the details: awesome shampoo and lotions, candles, excellent coffee and tea options, a bottle of wine and chocolates, and way more things than I can remember. All of it added up to us feeing at home — but a way, way nicer home :) Will be staying here next time we're in San Diego if we can!

  • Chuck and Yvonne were superb hosts (despite we couldn't meet in person due to overlapoing vacation)! Everything was prepared and very clean for our stay, even with some nice add ons like some chocolates and wine. Communication was perfect and very smooth. We couldn't have wished for a better neighborhood - parking is available in the street and it has nice restaurants all in walking distance! Most places we wanted to visit where only a 10-15 minutes with the car. It's even possible to the the public transportations (bus stop nearby). We definitely recommend this place!

    Robin2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great first experience with Airbnb thanks to Chuck and Yvonne! We couldn't have had a more comfortable stay. Very thoughtful and helpful hosts. We will definitely return if we're back in San Diego again.

    David2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Yvonne's studio was absolutely a home away from home. Clean, cozy, inviting and it made it very difficult to leave when our vacation was over. The view through the double doors was an excellent way to start each day. Our hosts were great, and made it feel like we had the whole place to ourselves. Without a doubt, I would love to stay here again.

An Oasis in the heart of Hollywood. Designed with attention to architectural detail by Parisian Architect Johann Bertelli (Atelier Panama). Bright, open and modern, but with a super comfy and inviting vibe. Steps to Hollywood Blvd and Franklin Village. Perfect for couples, business travelers, or anyone looking for more than just a place to crash.
New, recycled and repurposed materials that blend together to create the feeling of a modern cabin. Private and Comfortable. Architectural details throughout. There's a gorgeous tanker desk, an accent wall made from the ceiling of the original 1914 structure, and a one of a kind bed made from project remnants. There's even an 8' movie screen connected to Cable, Netflix and Blu-Ray. You won't want to leave.
This is Urban Hollywood. 40 yards/meters from Hollywood Blvd. Walking distance to Griffith Park, Hollywood and Vine, Upright Citizens Brigade, Pantages Theater, Fonda Theater, Coffee Shops, Restaurants, Bars, and the Metro. 5 minute drive to Silverlake Junction, the Hollywood Sign, Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Griffith Park Observatory. Larchmont Village, Universal Studios, Barnsdall Park and Art Center, Magic Castle, Cineramadome, Mann Chinese Theater, and more... Walking distance: Griffith Park - Entrance and Trails Coffee Shop just a short walk away. And for those feeling adventurous the Griffith Park Observatory is an additional 30 minute hike. Amazing views. Hollywood Farmer's Market - Sunday mornings till 1pm. Great fun atmosphere and the absolute best place in LA for rubbing elbows (literally) with the rich and famous. Pantages Theater - The LA stop for Broadway Musicals. Hollywood Walk of Fame - Less than a mile away. Bolt Coffee Shop - There are 5 coffee shops within walking distance of our house, but our favorite is Bolt. Walk 1/2 block from our house to Hollywood Blvd. Look left and across the street. You'll see it. UCB Theater - Improv institution. Famous alumni include Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Ed Helms, Ellie Kemper, Donald Glover, and others. Check out the Sunday night show (you never know who's gonna show up) but get there early because seating is limited. Thai town - Head the other direction on Hollywood Blvd. Lots of great Thai restaurants to choose from. Palm Thai Restaurant - Just a couple blocks from our house and the home of the most famous Thai Elvis Impersonator. Worth the trip. 5 minute drive: Universal Studios - Home of the recently opened Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Or you could take the metro. We are 2 stop on the Red Line from Universal Studios. Silverlake Junction - The heart of super hip Silverlake. Hollywood Sign - Just up the hill. Hollywood Forever Cemetery - Check out the Cinespia Schedule for summer movies in the cemetery. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner. Palladium - We just saw Beck there. Awesome venue. Walked home. Barnsdall Art Center - Centered on the Hollyhock House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Friday night wine tastings all summer long. Mann Chinese Theater - Take the car or stroll the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lots to see and do. Arclight Theater Hollywood - Best place to see a movie in Los Angeles. Cineramadome - Huge and historic movie theater and great place to see a Hollywood blockbuster as they were meant to be seen.

  • The Reilly's place was just as shown on the site. Very peaceful, beautifully decorated and well located for the part of town I was working in. I would highly recommend it!

  • Michael was an amazing host. Great communication, very friendly and honest. Lovely residence and the cleanest most comfortable bed and studio. Beautiful and friendly family and dog. We enjoyed his movie screen and was in a very good central location in Hollywoood. Definitly 5 stars and we will be back again!

  • Fabulous LA place to retreat for breaks between sightseeing. Easy convenient location, centrally located and yet private & quiet. Such friendly, helpful hosts as well. Indulging in the tasteful & functional studio design that nestles you comfortably in for a real screen movie experience in the evening was such a treat! We will try to book again when we return!

    Annette2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • I've had experiences staying at a lot of Air BNB's, and Michael & Kayren's was easily one of the better ones I've booked. The space is more so what I would call an "accidental Air BNB" though. What I mean by this, is that it seems like using this for Air BNB was an afterthought (this is a compliment). It's so nice and comfortable, that you would think it's main function was as a dedicated family guest house only, or like the description states, a "retreat", because it surely is. As far as parking, it is a little tricky, mainly at night, as there's only street parking available; morning/afternoon isn't too bad at all of course, and you should be able to find something right in front, or just within a few houses down. If I had to do it all over again, I'd make sure to lock in a good spot during the day, and just Uber everywhere at night, trust me. I think I read one reviewer confused or annoyed why the hosts do not offer parking in their driveway, but once you're in there, it's pretty obvious that there's just NO room, or barely any. As far as walkability, it's pretty decent, although we didn't do too much exploring by foot, w/ exception to the great coffeeshop around the corner, "Bolt," which was a good spot to setup and knock out some work at, as this was more of a business trip. My girlfriend was actually fine just working from the unit itself though, as it was such a comfortable and nice environment to be in. Plus, it has everything you need, including coffee and all the standard amenities, plus some. If I was really forced to state any negatives, the only thing I could really say was that the bathroom is a bit small, and the shower handle is a little stiff, but that can be fixed. Overall, I'd love to stay here again, as it was close to perfect. I'd heartily recommend this to anyone, it's a SOLID value and has "vacation" written all over it; I described it as an 'urban cabin'. Book w/ confidence!

This beautiful two bedroom/one bath apartment is located in the Castro/Duboce Triangle and in walking distance to Upper and Lower Haight, NOPA, and the Mission. Lot's of transportation, corner stores, grocery stores, and fantastic restaurants are in walking distance. If you come with car, street parking is quite easy here but it is restricted. However, there is paid parking around the corner at the hospital garage and there is also a street nearby where you can park your car for a week.
What I love most about the apartment is how truly bright it is. Big windows allow for lot's of natural lighting. The space is quite big (for San Francisco standards) with a nice large kitchen for cooking and socializing. The guest room is facing the back which is quiet and shielded from street noise.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with cute little streets, beautiful houses and lot's of parks. And if you are in the mood for entertainment you only need to walk a few block to find great places to eat and drink and people watch.

    Lisa2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nice room just like the pictures. The bed was comfortable and big enough for two 6' tall people. We didn't see much of Anka as she was often up early and gone by the time we woke, and we came home later after she had retired - so we had plenty of privacy - but Anka gave us a lovely orientation when we arrived and had great tips on the area. I loved the sensor night lamps along the stairs and hallway. It's a nice 10-minute walk to great cafe's and bars on Divisadero, Haight st, or Market st. Lots of hills in the area - we should have taken Anka's check-in advice and got a Lyft when we arrived. Getting the train then hauling our suitcases up the hill was not my best idea.

    Nicole2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the apartment very much. It's at a great location. The apartment was very clean. Although we did not spend much time there we highly recommended. Anka offered us great tips about restaurants and bars in the area. That was very helpful.

  • Anka went ABOVE AND BEYOND! This was my first experience with Airbnb and I will definitely use it again. It was a very clean, spacious, well laid out apt. Your room has ample closet space and the bed was hard to get out of in the mornings it was so comfortable!! It is obvious she has put a lot of thought and care into her design and upkeep. She has put much time and effort into making her guests feel welcome and knowledgeable about what is close and happening within the city. You are very lucky if you get the chance to snag this place up for a couple days!!!

  • Hi Anka we are home again and we want to say our stay with you was really really great. You made us feel so at home and so welcome in your home. Nothing was a trouble and everything was so easy and relaxed. Your place is clean bright warm and so friendly. We really enjoyed our stay with you. You are a truly great hostess and we would love to come back if we make it back to your great city thanks Michelle and Tasha

  • Great location tucked behind the action of Abbot Kinney. Very quiet & comfortable, thanks for having us!

  • The studio was amazing, we loved the interior design, the colors and all the art, it was a feast for the eyes. The accessibility was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed the key less entry. Proximity to everything in Venice was unparalleled. Simon and Darla have made an amazing place, it felt like an otherworldly retreat. Thank you.

  • What a total delight this beautiful guest house turned out to be! I am a Real Estate Broker in Portland Oregon and see many, many fabulous homes, but this really is a prize! My daughter and I stayed here and totally enjoyed every minute of it. We rode the 2 bikes provided everyday and had breakfast on the private patio surrounded by gorgeous lush greenery. The master bedroom area was cozy and had wonderful topnotch linens. My daughter slept in the glassed in area and was bewitched by it! Simon met us and showed us around the property and is a very interesting and helpful host! We cannot wait to go back! Thank you Simon and Darla!! Shirley and Jennifer

  • Great hosts. Fun area, close to abbot kinney and the beach. Highly recommended!

    Michael2013-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great experience! Many artistic little details in the space made it memorable and way more unique than staying in a typical hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, its just steps to abbot kinney and the beach is close. Also a short walk to the venice canals which was very fun to see. Simon was very accommodating and friendly. We didn't have a chance to meet Darla. We're cat people and liked to see the cats roaming the property. The space feels very private and the outdoor patio/garden is also wonderful. Over all we felt like true locals and had a great time!

  • Great location

    Adria2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
Ideal to be close to Venice beach, the nicest neighborhood of Los Angeles, regarding us. The apartment looks exactly like the photos. It is clean, nothing wrong to say about that. For us, there has been no contact with the host, we did not talk to them. You have to go to their store if you want to. To conclude, it was a very good stay.
