STR REG# (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) This apartment is close to all the action of downtown (7 minute walk), the Old Port (15 minute walk). Deering Oaks Park is one block away. Please note it SHARES A BATHROOM with the adjacent studio. It is very close to all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and bars of Portland. The building does sit next to a light industrial urban area, there is a less 'salubrious' area 2 blocks east, which is easily avoided, and this is Portland, you will see 'street characters'..
This is a one bedroom apartment with its own private access door but with a SHARED BATHROOM. You have a private living area which consists of a bedroom, large living room with TV, WiFi, Netflix and Hulu streaming and a dining area/kitchenette. This apartment does not have a full kitchen, but has a small fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate, pots and pans etc. It is a ground floor level apartment and for this reason I have frosted the windows for privacy. The bedroom has air conditioning and we suggest putting this on at night (even if it is on fan only) as this will mitigate any outside noises from traffic and voices. The street is generally quiet at night. The bathroom is accessed through a hallway, so you have your own lockable door, a hallway and the opposing apartments lockable door to separate the private areas. This is an old building and nothing is really level/square. Noises can travel and for that reason we request that guests please enter and exit quietly and please be aware of those below you.
This neighborhood (West Bayside) is undergoing strong gentrification. There are several great restaurants less than a minutes walk from the front door (Isa, American Bayside Cafe, Back Bay Grill and Food Fork Lab, 2 buildings down). However, the building borders a light industrial neighborhood and sits behind the main post office. It is an urban environment, not a tree lined residential street. The area 2 blocks east is best to avoid, you are safe but it doesn't look pretty. It is easily avoided by accessing downtown Portland via Forest Avenue. Deering Oaks Park is a beautiful park that is only one block west, and has a great Farmers Market at the weekend. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods a quick 2 minute car ride or 6 minute walk away. The building is minutes away from everything, but this being Portland, you will see 'street characters' in our neighborhood.
  • Christine's place was a perfect spot for a date night getaway. The only two slight downsides is the location and the shared bathroom. The location is central to downtown Portland but not in the nicest part of the city. However, Christine leaves explicit instructions how to get downtown without walking through that area. Great place to stay, highly recommend to any couple that wants a fun weekend trip to explore Portland!

  • Very accommodating host and a great, conveniently located place.

    Gus2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy place, very clean and well decorated. We drove to most places, but it was definitely walkable. Recommended!

  • Very cool house, great location. Easy to walk to parks, bars and restaurants. We would stay again.

    Derek2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, safe, and organized. Christine was also super responsive. Love the shower. Great stay!

    Cyprian2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute space to stay in for a long weekend. The shared bathroom was never an issue since we never saw the occupants of the adjacent space. Only complaint was the somewhat sketchy area in one direction that was mentioned in the description. It was easy enough to avoid with the instructions left by Christine, though we went for a walk upon arriving early prior to check in and unfortunately hadn’t seen the warning to take an alternative route. Easy to walk/lyft downtown though, and plenty of good local suggestions in the binder.

    Carly2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty good value for the location, clean and as pictured. Definitely not the best part of town but got the job done vs. a hotel. Thanks Christine.

    Derek2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Christine was a wonderfully organized and prepared host. She sent information regarding the unit and how to get in way in advance and responded quickly if I ever had any questions. Not to mention how airy and cute the unit was. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. We couldn't have had a more pleasant stay.

  • We had a great first stay in Portland. The Airbnb was clean and homie, with a lot of natural light. It's only a short walk away from downtown. We cannot wait to come back!

  • Awesome place to stay! A very short walk to downtown Portland

    Ally2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Christine’s place is clean, well-lit and stylish. Perks include; flat screen with Netflix, complementary coffee & shower products. If you’re looking for an affordable place with an authentic Portland vibe, this is it! However it is worth noting this apartment shares a bathroom with another unit and is in close proximity of several homeless shelters. We did appreciate that Christine’s windows were gated, allowing us peace of mind - when we slept with cracked first-floor windows.

    Megan2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • An extremely clean apartment with everything we needed. Appreciated Christine's communication before arriving and the ease of access to the building. Conveniently located to the center of town.

  • We loved our stay in Portland at Christine's place!

    Mollie2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine's place is awesome! The room is huge, clean, fully-equipped (flat TV - AC in the room - private kitchen) well decorated and really nice, as depicted on the photos. The bed is also super comfortable with high quality linens. I didn't meet Catherine, but everything went well thanks to her clear indications. The whole place is really designed to ease the guests' stay (keys, indications, recommendations). I would totally recommend!

    Adrien2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable apartment, exactly as described in listing. We were only here for a night and were barely in the unit, but it seems like a good base for getting out and about in Portland.

Walking distance to all that Portland has to offer. Clean and easy to access apartment on the 3rd floor of a great building. Located in the trendy Bayside neighborhood.. sort of like Brooklyn 20 years ago thus transitional, but super safe and super close to all downtown/Old Port amenities!
2 bedrooms both with queen size beds, full kitchen , bathroom, and small living room!!
The Bayside neighborhood in full disclosure is transitional, but it is as close to the Old Port/downtown as anywhere and we have never had any safety issues at all - Trader Joe's, Back Bay Grill, Bintliffs, Bayside Bowl and a fantastic Flea Market (Flea-for-all) all within 2 to 3 blocks also!
  • John and Missy were very nice and communicative. Check in and parking were both very easy. The apartment is exactly as described in the listing and in the reviews. It is a very basic space to sleep. While it does have a kitchen and small living room, the living room can only fit two people kind of comfortably. So I wouldn't plan to hang out in the apartment very much. That said, the place is clean and the beds are comfortable. We did have everything we needed for a quick stay.

    Marianne2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • A nice and cozy place to stay!

    Victor2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time staying at John's place. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had!

    Micah2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay, nice to have Netflix to watch after a long day touring.

    Jason2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to check in and close to many things in the city. Not the best neighborhood in Portland, but good for the price. Third floor on a tight stairwell, nice bedrooms and kitchen. We loved the little sitting room/den. Had a great time in Portland whole staying here!

    Stuart2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very clean! Would stay again!

    Brooke2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were overall dissatisfied with the accommodations. It is a low rent apartment in a relatively bad part of town. It is on the third floor of an apartment building that is more suitable for a college student or family looking for lower rent apartments rather than a suitable place to stay while on vacation.

    Kristen2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place right near downtown. Definitely an up and coming neighborhood though. The apartment itself is a great size, super clean, and John and Missy have lots of little touches to make sure you have everything you would need. Thanks again! Will be back!

A simple, clean unit hidden in the heart of Bayside, Portlands most up and coming neighborhood!. IN FULL DISCLOSURE the property is very close to the homeless shelter thus a lot of people wander the street at times during the day but it is safe and generally quiet at night! It is completely safe though and just 2 blocks from Congress Street/Arts District and a 10 minute walk to the Old Port. Within a block are many great restaurants
The neighborhood is safe but very transitional with a lot of people wandering the street at times during the day.
  • Simple room with ample space. Stop by his oyster bar (flyers in the room). And his recommendation for other neighborhood food choices are spot on! Karmasouptra is especially tasty.

    Alexander2019-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot for those who travel lightly. Had all of the necessities including coffee, extra toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc. Location is excellent - just a quick walk to most of what Portland has to offer. Would stay here again.

    Sam2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • John's place worked out very well for me. The area was a bit of an odd mix of people clearly struggling - though as others have said, I had no feeling at all that it wasn't safe - yet it was close to some amazing restaurants (including the oyster eatery downstairs!) and convenient to some really interesting parts of the city. I would definitely stay there again.

    Terry2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is a cool little studio above his oyster bar (which has AWESOME oysters, by the way). The place was clean and the location is great, as it's right near downtown. John was really friendly and offered suggestions for dining and nightlife too. As the location is so close to downtown, it can sometimes get noisy on the street at night but, all in all, it's a great place.

    Blake2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Easy, convenient and a great price

    Annie2019-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • John is very nice, and the location is excellent. The space itself is spartan but adequate. Don’t miss the oyster bar downstairs!

    Nikolas2019-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is centrally located in downtown Portland, which made it very easy to walk around and explore different restaurants and sights. The space was comfortable and clean, and we really enjoyed meeting John at his oyster bar downstairs. Exceptional food, and great hospitality! Thanks for having us.

    Stephanie & John2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • John was super great at communicating all the necessary things for our stay! While the neighborhood isn't the best, it's only a couple blocks away from great restaurants and shops!

Cozy efficiency in solid brick building close to all in town amenities, located in a transitional but trendy Bayside neighborhood.. sort of like Brooklyn 20 years ago thus transitional, but super safe and super close to all downtown/Old Port amenities! Cozy efficiency in solid brick building close to all in town amenities, located in transitional but trendy Bayside neighborhood. Efficiency has no kitchen, but there is a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The Bayside neighborhood in full disclosure is considered slightly edgy, but up and coming for sure and as close to downtown as any neighborhood in Portland. It is extremely safe and as a working professional I love living in this location. It is busy location during the day with the city works close by, but a ghost town at night thus generally quiet after 5. Yes.. the bus is less than a block away, the train about a mile or so and the airport less than 15 minute drive! Check in is generally around 3 and check out is 11. There can be some flexibility depending on availability. please ask in advance

  • Great place to stay in Portland. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. Studio was neat and clean as advertised. Parking was a breeze. Recommended.

  • John's studio apartment was perfect for a short stay in Portland. It's a short walk to downtown and the waterfront, but also easy to walk to east bayside, munjoy hill, and east end.

    Colin2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was great. Exactly what we needed. Nothing fancy. Small studio with a bed, love sofa, table, bathroom with standup shower. Had a small fridge and microwave. Small Tv had Netflix n HBO on demand. If you can get passed by the "walking dead" around the place then location was great. Few blocks away from arts section in Portland and then about 15-25 minutes walk to harbor depending on where you are headed. John had a parking spot for us to park our car which we can see right out our window which was also a plus. Even though we didn't get to meet John himself, check in and check it was easy. He also responded quickly to our questions.

    James2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Nice and clean. Perfect for our one night in Portland. Thank you for moving the bed so we could fit an air mattress.

    Patrick2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Johns room was well prepared for a traveler, and was perfect for our quick one night stay. Definitely not the Taj Mahal, and it is closely located to a homeless shelter so there's plenty of colorful individuals meandering about during the day but that's to be expected in any city. Slab is very close by, and is a Portland staple I'd recommend to anyone craving some ridiculously portioned pizza!

    Peter Michael Quinn2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • John was easy to communicate with. Check in was easy. Apartment was simple and clean. Bed was comfortable. Walking distance to many restaurants.

    Brian2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient, cozy, affordable place to stay in downtown Portland if you aren't looking for anything fancy like us. It was a close enough walk to everything for us. The lockbox was really convenient as well to get the keys without having to coordinate an exact time. Everything as pictured. Not as loud as other reviewers said.. Normal apartment chatter here and there. Would stay again!

    Angela2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly what we were looking for--great location, easy and convenient check in and check out, and equipped with enough amenities to accommodate our single night trip (towels and toiletries!). An overall great stay for a night on the town! Was definitely as listed--and to address location concerns, it was on the edge of town and perfectly fine.

First floor back apartment in convenient bayside neighborhood
We are located in a transitional neighborhood, there is a homeless shelter and soup kitchen near by! Our bayside police are on foot, bicycle and vehicles keeping their eyes on things!

  • Very fast response times with the ability to meet the needs of whoever is lucky enough to snag this spot in Portland.

  • Great location! Apartment is the perfect size for people visiting in town and expecting to take in what the city has to offer. Parking was easy and all the hot spots are within a short walk or drive! The apartment itself is clean, bed is comfy and was definitely nice and cool during this summer heat! Would highly recommend and repeat book!

    Kate2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Decent location. Comfy bed. Faint smoke smell.

    Andrea2019-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Missy’s apartment was exactly what we needed while staying in Portland... a comfortable bed, shower, and within walking distance to downtown Portland. Parking was a bit tricky, but that seemed to be the case everywhere. I felt safe walking around the neighborhood, even though it was a bit outside of the more touristy downtown area. It was the perfect home base to be out and about exploring Portland.

    Molly2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Listed as no smoking, however smelled like smoke in blankets, was told there was street parking, if not could park in driveway by knocking on neighbors doors (?) and then was told by neighbors that Melissa was told before that this was not acceptable, so we ended up with a parking ticket. Only 1 pan provided, and oven was filthy.....towels had black hair in them. NEVER again!

    Erika2019-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Good deal / price and clean, besides it may have been a smoked in. It’s easy access and close to all the good sites in downtown Portland, although it boarders a homeless area. I didn’t mind but some might find it unsafe or unpleasant. Just a bit of noise/fighting on the streets.

Well lit, large room with an extra futon (second bed) in a cozy old-fashioned Maine duplex with your own private entry. The queen size bed, plush with 800 (or more) thread count sheets, a down comforter and cozy pillows will prove to be comfortable. The room has a private bath with a tile shower, refrigerator, microwave and coffee/tea. We provide towels, hi-speed wifi and small speakers for music. We are an easy walk to everything, and we offer our driveway for parking.
(Please read my entire listing as it will answer most, if not, all questions you may have. It will also help you decide if what I have to offer will meet your expectations and needs so you can have an amazing stay here in Portland) Hi, I'm Christine. I'm here to help you have an enjoyable stay at my home. But, also, I have made my Airbnb as self-sufficient as possible in case I'm off doing unpredictable life & mom things. I don't want my busy schedule to hinder any of your plans. As much as I would love to meet all of my guests, I may not be able to. (Do know, I will always be reachable by phone or text and would love to help in any way I can) My place is right in Portland and you can literally walk to most, (if not all) desired locations. It is a two story duplex that I have converted into a home for my family with a designated Airbnb area. To ensure privacy, my family stays in an area that is totally separate and secure from the Airbnb space. I have a dog (Harriet) and she will bark. Even though she is friendly, you will not have direct contact with her. My house is not modern. In fact, it is well over 100 years old. Calling it a "fixer-upper" is a bit harsh, but it does need some special love and attention. As much as I am very serious about making these upgrades happen, it has been a slow process. Take comfort in knowing that I have prioritized the Airbnb space and its the best room in the house! I am proud to have made it into a unique/comfortable/clean and cozy little Spot for my guests. (I intend to use my Airbnb revenue as a means to make such improvements to the rest of my home) I love my neighborhood. Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl, Bubba's, (voted best dance club) Isa and American Bayside Grill are primo hot spots within a block of my house. We are a short walk to The Museum of Art, Nickelodeon, the Old Port, (waterfront) Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, Deering Oaks Park and some of the nations most highly regarded microbrew pubs. On the downside, there is a resource center a few blocks from my house. You may encounter homeless people who may/may not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol. The area can easily be avoided by foot and/or by car. I provide a map that clearly shows where the resource center is and how to best avoid it. (if you choose) Please take comfort in knowing, I have lived in my neighborhood for 15 years and I feel safe in my home, and I would never have an Airbnb if this were not the case. Also, we are less than 2 minutes off the 295 highway, so traveling north or south of the city will be as easy as it gets with minimal city driving. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MY PLACE: Q: When can I check in or check out? A: I will try to accommodate your desired check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if I have a guest leaving that morning, as I need time to have the room cleaned for you. Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please? And, where do I leave the key when I leave. A: Yes, yes and leave the key in the room.
Parris street is a little two-way street right in the heart of downtown Portland, in the most diverse area of the state. Online maps measure distances in feet to the most celebrated and award winning restaurants and night spots. We are located just blocks from Portlands highly touted art district with the Portland Museum of Art within ten minutes on foot. My family has lived in the neighborhood for over a decade. We feel safe in our home and have never had an incident where someone even tried to break in.
  • We really loved our stay! The place is lovely - the room is spacious and nicely decorated, and both the room and the bathroom were spotless :) Christine was really friendly and helpful. The spot is perfect for sightseeing Portland. We can really recommend the place!

    Elżbieta2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Honest about the area. Not so bad outside of the listing but be wary of used needles on the street area. No fridge, more of a plug-in mini cooler that could fit maybe a six pack of cans, but nothing that needs to be at the standard 40. Bed was nice, bathroom felt not very private, since it had a door to another room. Room was small but had high ceilings. Couldn’t figure out how to use the TV between 3 young adults so no review on that ‍♀️

    Jayne2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
Jederzeit gerne wieder!

  • Christine is very kind , she suggest us a very nice restaurant and very helpful information about the center of the city ! the room is better than in the picture , it was clean and confortable moreover it was like to have a private house ! the position is very close to the city center (only 10 min wolking ) .

5 minute walk to Congress square. 10 minute walk to the top of the Old Port- [walk time- tested with two unfocused dogs]. We are very centrally located on the Portland peninsula. 5 to 10 minute walk- to all Portland has to offer; restaurants, galleries, parks, shops, and two farmers markets. Just a few short blocks from the State Theater, Portland Museum of Art, Portland Stage Company, Art's district, Old Port area, and Congress Square.
Two bedroom, first floor apartment in owner occupied brick 1848, Ira Brett Greek Revival home with period details. Private entrance on side of house- with only one step into the apartment. Two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed, one full sized bed, each with quality linens. Apartment also has one roll out single bed with memory foam mattress. Spacious and comfortable living room, original wood floors, oriental rugs, black marble fireplace (non-functional), Wi-Fi [with modem in apartment], Dish satellite tv, air-conditioning in summer months in each bedroom. Eat in kitchen; microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, oven and stovetop, coffee maker, snacks, coffee. Older style stackable washer/dryer, iron and ironing board. Bathroom with oversized shower, plenty of fresh towels, and toiletries.
Our two family home is located in a vibrant, transitional neighborhood- home to professionals, artists, self employed, unemployed and homeless individuals. Businesses located in our neighborhood include: Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Bayside Bowl, the Food Lab, Architectural Salvage, Isa- (a wonderful neighborhood bistro), Bayside American Café ( a great spot for breakfast), and Back Bay Grill- (fine dining and a Portland institution). There is a resource center located 3 bocks away- that serves homeless individuals and others in need.
  • This was by far the best air bnb experience we've enjoyed so far. Caroline and Tom were welcoming, gracious hosts. The dogs and cat are nothing short of adorable. The apartment itself couldn't have been nicer: it is charming and quiet with good lighting and sweet, tasteful personal touches. We felt at home immediately. The kitchen was well appointed (coffee, local beer, snacks, Glenmorangie!, good dishware, etc), the beds and linens super comfortable, the furniture cozy and authentic, the shower strong, the little courtyard picturesque. The location was perfect; we walked most everywhere and enjoyed the private parking space on property. Our only regrets are that we couldn't stay longer. Hopefully this apartment will be available when we return to Portland next year. Can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you! Peter and Kristie, Seattle

  • Wow! What a wonderful find! The profile is exceptionally accurate and this house exceeded our expectations. A comfortable, cozy space to relax at the end of the day exploring Portland and nearby cities. The wine, beer and snacks provided were a great surprise! Thanks Tom and Carolyn for making this great home available for us to enjoy!

  • A lovely apartment within walking distance to so many Portland activities.

  • Best Airbnb experience yet. Beautiful historic space with tastefully understated period furniture, wonderful rugs, great eclectic art, really comfortable beds, great shower, yummy stocked kitchen (wine, craft beer, amazing cookies from Standard Bakery, and, well, snack sizes of Cheetos and Fritos when nothing else will do). Perfect location. Great hosts. Terrific home base in walking distance to the best of Portland. We'll be back!

  • This place was so perfect for our girls getaway. It's such a cute spot, that was so comfortable. Carolyn and Tom were great to communicate with, very quick to respond. Every part of the experience was great. They left Maine beer, wine, snacks, toiletries and homemade cookies for us. We were able to walk to Congress St. to grab dinner and drinks, and walk our way down to the waterfront as well. For breakfast the next day, we went to a great breakfast at Bayside American Cafe, again 0.2 miles away! I just loved everything about our stay in Portland thanks to Carolyn and Tom.

  • This was our first trip to Maine and we had a wonderful time exploring Portland and the surrounding coastal towns. What a lovely state and wonderfully nice people as well, including our hosts! The property had everything we needed and was a nice and quiet place to stay so close to the heart of Portland. Easy walking to fabulous places to wine and dine. A little gem of a place to stay! We'd love to come back again!

  • I recommend this space highly. So close to Portland city restaurants and shops, but private and cozy.

Our home is near parks, nightlife, hospitals and the city center but located in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to everything. It's very small, but quiet and has a separate entrance. If you want to socialize with us you can, but you also have privacy too. The house was built in 1894, so the room/ bathroom are older, has a clawfoot tub and is small. Many guests ask about off-street parking. We have it available for 5$ per night in a nearby lot.
Full size bed. Very comfortable double bed. The room is small!! Electric heaters are available for your use to supplement the heat. Did I say the room was small? Its small but really comfortable. The bathroom is older and has a clawfoot tub, so you must be able to lift your legs over a 24" lip. Water pressure is very good.
The West End is primarily residential, with apartments and single family homes. It is very safe. There are nearby convenience stores, markets and laundry mats. The hospitals are both a ten minute walk away.
  • This place has become my go-to in Portland. Great value, cozy room, very nice hosts.

  • Way better than I expected. It was way more private than I expected as well. Great host and awesome location.

  • Location was great - so close to so many things - and helped give my sister and I a more complete Portland experience. Dennis messaged me a few days before the stay with information and recommendations on things to do in the area, and we ended up visiting two of the spots on the list. Had a great time at both! Would definitely stay here again!

  • Chip was great! Gave us great local tips, friendly, and very personable. Very private in a great location. The post indicates room is small but we felt very comfortable. Highly recommend.

  • Heather and Dennis were very accommodating. They had everything we could have needed already in the room which was adorable decorated. It was a short walk to everything we wanted to do. I definitely recommend this place if you want a quiet space near downtown portland!

  • Lovely stay in this charming property, which made an ideal base for exploring the city. Chip welcomed us on arrival with tips on local places to eat and drink. The private entrance was convenient and secure and afforded privacy and flexibility. The room itself was cosy and warm with an extremely comfortable bed. The private bathroom was also perfectly adequate and very clean. Communication before and during our stay was prompt and accommodating. We would happily stay here again.

  • If you're looking for a cozy room and bath in the historic West End of Portland to lay your head after a day of sight seeing and an evening of dining, this is the best value in town. The facilities are clean and the host replies immediately to any communications. I liked having my own entrance.

  • Beth’s place was great! Beth greeted us on time and was fast in responding to all questions. The house it located just minutes to all major Portland Downtown and Old Harbor sites. The room was immaculate and very cozy. The bed was comfortable and the room had a small refrigerator, microwave, AC, utensils, plates, etc. It’s really setup with everything you’d need. Plus, Beth gave us a parking spot which was awesome. The bathroom was clean and equipped with everything you need except for a hairdryer. There are some homeless people on the area but they didn’t bother us and Beth really handled it when they were closer to the house. Overall, if you’re looking for a great and affordable spot in Portland I’d recommend this spot. I know that next time I’m in Portland, I’ll stay here again.

    Valerie2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This room is convenient and walkable to Old Port! Parking is easy to find on the street and the guest room even has a mini-fridge if you have drinks/groceries.

  • Great, cozy room in downtown Portland. It was a SUPER hot weekend in the city but the A/C was a delightful respite when we turned in for a break from walking around. Easy walk to nearly every angle of downtown and a relaxed, friendly vibe to turn to at the end of a day of adventure. Will return!

The charming Olive & James Berry House (1851) is your CLEAN, comfy & cozy refuge in the center of it all: a block & a half from MECA & up the street from Bayside Bowl. Many park & never move from the driveway! Great food steps away: Isa, Bayside Cafe, Nosh, Emilitsa & more or walk less than a mile thru the Old Port to the waterfront. Eat-in kitchen, full bath, small tv room (Roku/hulu/wi-fi), a/c in each bedroom, patio, grill, garden & free parking. No pets, kids 9+ considered. 420 FRIENDLY!
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized fridge, electric stove, Keurig coffee machine, toaster, blender and an array of dishware, cookware, silverware & glassware. Try a Moxie, the official soft drink of Maine or brew a cup of locally roasted coffee from Coffee By Design. An assortment of tea and breakfast items is also provided for you! The cozy tv and reading room has a selection of books about Maine or by Maine authors in addition to a 24" flat screen tv. Network channels are available over the air and there is a Roku with Hulu Plus. The unit has dedicated service with the modem & router located in this room should you need to re-set. Two LOVESEATS (NOT full-sized couches) seat 4. The bathroom, with a full-tub and shower, is located UPSTAIRS and is fully stocked with towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. The upstairs bedroom features a full size, extra thick inner spring mattress with an egg crate foam topper. There is a new, twin size, 8" memory foam mattress that slides out from under this bed for a 5th person (or 3rd person if each one needs a separate bed). Let me know if you need this made up and it will be ready upon your arrival. The downstairs bedroom has a 10" queen size combination foam and Conforma Coil mattress. Both bedrooms have air conditioners. Since this is a 160+ year old house, be aware that the stairs may be steeper, and the stairway itself narrower, than in a more modern building. Floors are creaky too! City of Portland License #STHR (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)
Bayside is one of Portland's emerging and popular areas on the peninsula. It's not a quiet suburb, houses here are quite close together and you'll hear normal city traffic and neighborhood residents. We are located on the edge of the Arts District (don't miss the Friday Art Walk!) within walking distance of all of Portland's hot spots-both uptown and in the Old Port. New business, including a whiskey bar & a brewery, are soon to join Chipolte, The Fork Food Lab, Trader Joe's, Eastern Mountain Sports, Quest Fitness Cycle and others. Within a 3 block area, you'll find some of the city's finest dining establishments: Back Bay Grill, Isa bistro and brunch favorite Bayside American Cafe to the West. Yet, just down the street, to the East, the Preble Street Resource Center and Soup Kitchen serve Portland's large population of homeless persons and others in need. A throwback from the founding years of the industrial area of the area, E. Perry Iron & Metal Scrap Yard (est. 1896) sits across the street from Whole Foods. This diverse area is in transition and we who live here are excited to see what will come.

  • Hilda's place is great. The place has everything you need. Very clean and check in was a breeze. Good location within walking distance of downtown. Will certainly stay at Hilda's place again.

  • This is a great place. A friend and I did a stayed for a few months during the winter and this place was perfect. I didn’t need to bring anything besides clothes and personal belongings. Hilda has thought of everything. She was also super helpful and responded very quickly if we needed something. Her description in this listing are spot on. Whenever we had friends visit they were always jealous of how homey our place was (20 somethings). Location is amazing. My roommate and I didn’t have a car and had no problem getting around. 7 minute walk to Trader Joe’s. 5 minutes to Monument Square. 10 minutes to Old Port. We were both teaching and we’re up early and snow was never a problem. Klay shoveled us out pretty early. We left just as the weather was getting nice so we didn’t get to enjoy the backyard. My only regret about this place is that I couldn’t stay longer. The place, location, and hosts were all great! For nearby food Pizziaolo, Empire, and Nosh were favorites but it’s hard to go wrong in Portland.

  • hilda was a terrific host. everything (like check in and check out) was well-explained. she was very responsive when i messaged her. her space was awesome too. very clean. we ended up getting in very late on friday and she let let us stay on sunday past check in so we could enjoy portland for a few more hours - very kind! we were in portland for a marathon and we'd love to come back for pleasure sometime. and when we do we hope hilda's place is open!

    Julia2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Portland. The place was decorated very nice with a creative flair. It was very clean and well stocked with anything you would need. Hilda and Klay were wonderful and great to give suggestions on what to see and where to eat in the area. The food was fantastic and great local beer. Thanks Hilda and Klay!

    Lora2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Hilda's place is very clean and exactly as advertised. The kitchen (and the rest of the house) is well-stocked with kitchenware, coffee, bathroom amenities and other odds and ends that one might need during travel. The off-street parking spot was a definite plus! The location of the apartment is pretty good - I'd say it's walking distance to the center of town though for my parents (who are older) the walk uphill towards Old Port was difficult, so we ended up driving everywhere. Hilda is a helpful but unobtrusive host - she was around to answer questions if we needed them and responded to messages in a timely manner. Just two things to note - the TV room is on the smaller side so if there's more than 3 of you or if you'll spend a lot of time indoors it might not be super comfortable; and since the house is an older house, the staircase & the floors are squeaky so if you're a light sleeper, definitely bring earplugs. Other than these, Hilda's place is comfortable, clean and conveniently located for both the center and grocery stores - I'd recommend it!

Living in Portland's downtown peninsula on the most historic street will make you want to stay!
Neighborhood boasts the best restaurants and is a 3 minute walk to the Museum of Art, a must-see if this is your first time in Portland! Very quiet and safe.
  • Todo perfecto incluso mejor de lo esperado. Las indicaciones para recoger las llaves y poder aparcar muy claras. Kevin accesible en todo momento aunque no le necesitamos. Recomendable 100%

  • We had a wonderful stay in this apartment! Everything we needed was there and we felt right at home. We didn't have a car and it was super easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was a wonderful way to experience Portland for the first time. Our one suggestion would be to make sure there is a fan in the room. It was unseasonably warm (90+ degrees) and while the cross breeze still helped the room cool down at night, a fan would have made it much more comfortable to sleep.

    Louise2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy, with clear instructions on how to get set up. Check-in and Check-out done by lockbox so it was very convenient. Love having the parking space for the whole trip so we could come and go. Right next to our favorite bars and restaurants. Quiet and quaint building, comfortable furniture. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Host contact was gracious and welcoming. Property was as promised. Neighborhood is great! Overall, a VERY positive experience.

    Tom2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the apartment was lovely! The space itself was large and comfortable and despite the temperatures outside being in the teens the apartment stayed comfortably warm the whole time. The place was clean and neatly organized with every detail attended too. Having coffee available was a great comfort in the mornings. There plenty of local food/drink/entertainment options within a very short walk; the whole city of Portland is actually very accessible on foot. Kevin was very helpful and accommodating and provided some good recommendations for food. We arrived the day after a snowstorm and ran into a few issues with parking and snow hauling but Kevin was beyond gracious and helpful in resolving the parking woes, allowing us access a private off street garage for our stay. The only negative of the whole experience was the snow hauling/clearing equipment working outside around 2:00 AM was very loud and did wake us. This was only an issue on one night of our stay and passed very quickly.

    Dan2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location with lots of natural light coming through the big windows. Firm, comfortable mattress. Location might be a bit noisy in the summertime with the windows open, but it was fine during the winter.

    Bess2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment! Very professional and great communication. Kevin left very clear instructions and gave us his number in case we needed anything from him. The apartment is close enough to walk to everything but far enough away that the neighborhood is still quiet. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Portland!

    Rachel2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful apartment, the sort you could live in, and the best neighborhood in Portland ME. We walked to great restaurant after great restaurant. Kevin was a very nice and informative host. Would love to stay here again.

A comfortable room in a house located near the arts district, with many restaurants, cafes, bars and interesting shops. It is a short and fun walk to the Old Port. Shares large full bath and half bath with another room rented on Airbnb as well. Parking and Wifi is included.
This comfortable room has a queen bed (new mattress as of November 2018!). It also has a dorm fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and a few dishes. There is also a TV and a Roku player. The TV has an antennae and receives several local stations over the air. The Roku player allows guests to watch several free channels, but also to log into their own subscription on Netflix, Hulu, etc. Guests share a jack-and-jill style full bathroom with the guests in our Studio, also rented out to visitors. There is also a powder room on the first floor that is available to everyone.
Our house is an a beautiful historic tree lined street. It is a block away from Longfellow Square, the unofficial start of the Arts District. There are several fabulous places to eat and drink within a few block radius. There are also several music venues and some unique shopping opportunities. The Portland Museum of Art is only three blocks away. Arts District - 5 min walk Deering Oaks Park - 7 min walk Old Port - 20 min walk Portland Headlight - 15 min Western Promenade - 15 min walk

We had everthing we needed and the communication before our arrival was outstandig, the check in very well prepared. Would highly recommend this place!

  • We had a great stay at Bob's beautiful home. They were really flexible with us and our arrival time. When we got there, Bob got us settled and had lots of great restaurant recommendations. The room was cozy and comfortable with a great tea and coffee stand. Unfortunately we only had one night in Portland, but we would have love to have stayed much longer!! Thanks Bob and family!

  • A beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood in a beautiful place! Portland is a foodie paradise! We enjoyed the fare at Tandem Coffee, Bissell Bros., the lobster shack, and Central Provisions. The room and bathroom were set-up very well for our stay, it was very helpful to have a fridge and hot water pot in the room. Sharing the bathroom was no issue at all (there was really helpful signage to orchestrate confusion-free usage).

    Katie2019-05-07T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed with Robert for one night on our trip from Boston to Acadia NP. The place is located just perfectly for a stroll around Portland downtown. We had the best Clam Chowder thanks to Roberts advice. Parking was no problem on the street after 4pm. Robert supplied us with a babybed for our one year old son. Check in and out was easy. A place to recommend!

  • This is a great place to stay in Portland. It was very clean and charming. I highly recommend!

  • Simply stated, Brian's place is exceptional. The apartment is beautiful and I felt at home the minute I walked in. In reality it's compact but because it makes great use of the space, it feels much larger. The parking space in the back is a great feature so there's no street parking to deal with. I especially liked that the residential neighborhood didn't feel "touristy" and there are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance that made you feel like a local. I highly recommend Brian's Airbnb when traveling to Portland!!!

    Scott2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! We hope to make it back.

    Jason2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The condo was perfect for our stay in Portland with our 1 year old. It was quiet but close enough to walk to the popular areas, very clean, and nicely decorated. We especially appreciated the ability to do laundry and the easy check in/out process. Brian also went the extra mile for us and mailed us the baby monitor we left there. We would absolutely stay her again. Thanks Brian!

    Brianna2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brian was a fantastic host. His apartment was located right in the heart of Portland, extremely close to all of the city's hotspots. Brian has a map in the apartment that pins all of the local restaurants, attractions, breweries, etc. This was helpful in deciding what we wanted to visit. Additionally, the apartment is kept in amazing shape and is extremely stylish. The parking is really convenient, as is the electronic lock system. For those looking to also visit other parts of Maine, Brian's apartment was close to Freeport and Cape Elizabeth (within 20 minutes). We also made the day trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia (3 hours each way) which was fairly reasonable from Brian's apartment. Overall, amazing airbnb!

    Vishal2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brian’s apartment is very charming. It has glossy blonde wood floors, a spacious modern kitchen, a tasteful blue-and-white color scheme. It is absolutely spotless, too. We liked the location a lot. It is just a 10-minute walk to the Portland Museum of Art and all the shops, galleries and coffee bars of Congress Street.

    Ugo2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is very cute and is within a 15-minute walking distance of old Port and any thing you want to do in the downtown area. It's a studio feel and it's on the bottom floor and everything you could need is there in the apartment! Thank you Brian for providing a place for a great 5 year anniversary celebration!!!

  • Carlo clearly cared that our stay was pleasant. Though I once lived in Portland (was down for a graduation and a concert) he offered a wealth of knowledge about the neighborhood and the city history. Special touches such as a write-up on the concert we attended and a comfortable, clean space were so appreciated. The only thing I'd change is to stay there longer next time! Thank you, Carlo and Stoja!

  • This is such a great place to stay in Portland Maine! It’s walking distance to everything downtown, we never even moved our car. It’s around great restaurants, shops and near the waterfront. The space is awesome too! Small little kitchenette to make some coffee or keep leftovers in the fridge. Carlo is an amazing host, him and his wife live upstairs and they have a hair salon on the first floor. Can’t wait to come back!

    Kelsey2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • He was a great host. I would highly recommend staying here. The location was great. The room was nice. He gave amazing recommendations.

  • Carlo is extremely welcoming and helpful, and the apartment itself was perfect for our weekend trip to Portland. The location is great - a 5 minute walk to downtown Portland and the space was comfortable and felt like home. Loved being able to sit out and enjoy my morning coffee out on the patio. Thanks Carlo. Erik

  • Great place to stay in Portland and super comfortable space! Carlo was very welcoming and had some nice recommendations. Would stay here again.

    Chloe2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carlo met us at the parking lot and showed us in. Gave a brief tour of the beautiful space and was on his way. It was clean and cute with nice little amenities( bottled water, a few craft beers, keurig coffee maker, and his and her mugs) Perfect location to walk anywhere. They only downside is we could not stay longer.

    Christina2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carlo's place was wonderful. An exceedingly comfortable space filled with thoughtful amenities and, best of all, in a great location for exploring all the great restaurants clustered in the middle of town. Carlo was responsive, helpful, and downright charming. Will stay in his space when next in Portland.

    David2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Carlo's place is truly wonderful - great location if you want to have three lobster meals before 3pm (which we did!) The apartment is adorable, very well-decorated and the perfect romantic getaway. Carlo is a fantastic host, and even went as far as to pick up a bottle of Italian Prosecco for us when he found out we were married the day before our stay. It was such a thoughtful thing that made our mini-moon extra special. Carlo, we raised a glass to you! Thank you again for hosting, we can't wait to be back!

Sunny ground floor apartment in a beautiful brick Victorian era Italianate home. 1000 sq. ft with hardwood floors, king bed, full bath, private entrance, access to patio and yard. Walking distance to everything; just two blocks from Congress Square.
This is a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a classic Portland layout: living room in front, french doors to the dining room, bedroom to the side, kitchen in the back. The bay window gets copious morning sun and makes the maple floors gleam. The bathroom has just been expanded and remodeled in 2017 with a small tub and new fixtures. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a rollaway twin bed or pack-n-play crib is available. The entire place has replacement windows and was certified lead-safe by the city of Portland. Please note that like many homes in Maine, there is no air-conditioning, as Portland averages only 4 days per year over 90 degrees, in which case we have fans and beaches.
Mechanic Street is a little one-way street right in the heart of downtown, in the most diverse neighborhood in the state. Online maps measure walking distance in FEET to Portland's most celebrated restaurants, nightspots and parks, and less than three blocks to Portland Stage Company, Portland Museum of Art and Congress Square, the center of Portland's art district. Also be advised that a resource center for the homeless is down the street and an ancient local dive bar on the corner can sometimes attract an "urban tableau" of our less-fortunate neighbors, however they are mostly harmless and the community policing center is nearby and responsive.
  • Kate and Clint's place was clean, comfortable, and charming. It is lovely to show up and have a place just as is expected! The family is mindful of guest privacy, which is very nice. Kitchen and bath are stocked with necessary items. We liked it so much, it was perfect for us.

    Jennifer2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Portland at Kate and Clint's place was a treat, and they were very easy to work with. The location is good, the place was very clean, and the apartment is as lovely as it looks in the pictures and stocked with everything we needed. I'd recommend their place to anyone staying in Portland.

    Dan2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and Clint have a lovely home very to everything in Portland. They were easy to communicate with and when I needed to drop off some baggage early they were super cool about it. Beautiful, private, little home and I would highly recommend staying with them!

    Ben2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts made us feel welcome. Enjoyed the location and the apartment was very clean. Spotless in fact! The shower was challenging to negotiate and you can definitely hear upstairs noise in the afternoon - taking a nap wasn't easy. But these are small things. The apt had a nice feel to it and was definitely a good value.

    Jane2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kate’s home was a beautiful well kept space with a variety of thoughtful touches. Met our needs perfectly and couldn’t have been easier to check in and out of. Really wonderful!

    Doug2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place in a great location. Check in couldn't be easier. Highly recommended!

    Sofi & Dan2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Clint were so nice to work with, and they seriously went above and beyond providing every single thing we would ever want or need to make our stay comfortable and pampered. The chocolates on the pillow! Such a nice touch! If you stay in Portland, Maine, you HAVE to stay at a place like this! It is so urban and charming and beautiful! It fits right in with the ambiance of the amazing downtown area. Actually, the picture of the outside doesn't do justice to how beautiful and charming this home is. And, the minute you walk in, you feel warmth and coziness! I also have to compliment the artist whose original work decorated the walls (Clint!) We thought they were art gallery or museum quality! It was truly a GREAT experience staying there!

    Sandy2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a roomy, clean place to stay very close to the Arts District. We first stayed in January and rebooked shortly after returning home. Will be at the top of our list of prefered places to stay

A quiet, beautifully lit, sanctuary in the middle of Portland's peninsula. The Art Studio is on the ground floor of a 100 year old church. It's previous use was as a painter's studio and there is still some paint on the radiant heat, polished, concrete floor. The room is full of art by Maine artists. Your host is an artist and makes the rest of the building his home and work space. For the use of guests there is a sunny, fenced yard accessible from the rental.
Park your car because you won't need it. In minutes you can to walk to the many restaurants and bars as well as brewery and distillery tasting rooms. Less than 20 minute walk to the Portland Museum of Art, Portland Stage Company, and the State Theater through the center of the downtown. And you'll be only one block from Portland's historic performing arts facility Merrill Auditorium. My listing is dog friendly, but you must inform me if your dog(s) are accompanying you. More than one dog will require an additional $15 per night.
  • Great location in Portland. We have stayed closer to the West End in the past but found the location of Jay's place to be right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Very cute, clean space with a little private outdoor area that was perfect for an evening beer or morning coffee. Jay (and Tucker!) was very pleasant and quick to respond to any questions we had.

    Jaime2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay at Jay's studio. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. He was responsive and provided great recommendations. The location is perfect, walking distance to restaurants and other attractions. We enjoyed meeting Jay and look forward to staying there in the future.

  • Great location - easily walkable to the Old Port and lots of other great areas with restaurants and bars. The space was open, clean and filled with beautiful art. We had a great time staying for a long weekend - Thanks Jay!

    Sean2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • A pleasant studio with nice artwork. A six block walk to downtown restaurants, a little further to the wharf. Great coffee/pastry shop a half block away. Whole Foods two blocks away, if you want to eat in the apartment.

Beautiful new apartment in the Heart of Portland. Filled with light and has a beautiful view from the 8th floor. It is great for a romantic get a way!! Bars/ restaurants and little trendy shops surround this location and everything is in walking distance. The old port/ ferry is a 15 min walk away. You will for sure enjoy staying here.
  • Esperen un lugar sucio, mal cuidado y con indicaciones pocos claras de como ingresar. La anfitriona no está en el lugar y no colabora en resolver los problemas

    Luis Fernando2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute apartment not far from most things to do in Portland. Easy check-in and check-out. A big TV. Marlene even left some clean towels to use and snacks for the night.

    Madeleine2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very cute, and in a great location! The big windows and the sunset over Portland was beautiful.

    Jillian2019-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Mirror House lived up to its expectations and then some. Great location in Portland, walking distance to everything fun and tons of good restaurant options you could hit with a rock from the front door.

    Gregory2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Marlene's home was clean, bright, and super convenient to downtown. Check-in/out was very easy and Marlene's response time was great too.

    Erica2018-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This really was as described- a great location, perfect for a romantic vacation/staycation, a fantastic view, and lots of giant, awesome mirrors! The gym in the building is understated, especially if you’re staying for more than one night. it’s state of the art equipment and has everything you need, with a super cute view of Portland from the treadmills. The building has its own entrance to Joes convenience store which made for a very “convenient” and easy night in with pizza and wine. Marlene was responsive when we needed entry to the building at check-in. Would definitely recommend!

    Amy2018-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our check-in at Marlene's was seamless, and she was extremely responsive throughout our stay. The apartment is centrally located in a fantastic spot, right near a bunch of bars and restaurants. Additionally, the building itself is really nice, and all of the neighbors were super friendly. The only issue we ran into was that the apartment had not been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived, but Marlene was gracious and understanding of these issues and offered a solution. Otherwise, our stay was great. This is the perfect spot for a weekend trip in Portland.

We are in the heart of downtown Portland. 5 to 10 minute walk, to all Portland has to offer; restaurants, breweries, galleries, parks, shops, famers markets. The State Theater, Portland Museum of Art-Portland's arts district, the Old Port, Congress Square are near. We are located in a vibrant transitional neighborhood, home to Trader Joes, ISA, Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl and Bayside Café. There is a homeless outreach center located 3 blocks away that serves the homeless.
First floor studio space in our 1848 Greek Revival home, with separate entrance. It is not a large space, but there is a feeling of spaciousness, largely due to 9 foot ceilings. There is a small coffee maker, and a small refrigerator with local beer, water, coffee and cream. Outdoor garden space is shared- primarily with Elmo and Wally (our French bulldogs), and Mack, (our cat). Renovations were completed in August 2017; new floor, walls, lighting/electric, and a new bathroom. A few things to know about your garden mates; Elmo has a great deal of enthusiasm, and we are working on his greeting behavior as he tends to jump for joy when humans step into the back yard area (he will jump on you -we are working on this) - Wally overall is more low key, but still very excited to greet people- Mack, the cat lounges on the chairs outside the studio and in various places in the garden, he is very friendly and enjoys greeting guests at the backyard gate.

  • Great location. Cute place. Awesome host. Carolyn also has 2 cute dogs and they are super enthusiastic about meeting us. The location is pretty central and close to everything. Room is private and comfortable with all the amenities. Highly recommended

    Michael2018-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, location, and the space was a perfect fit for us!

    Debbie2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location and a wonderful space! Carolyn and her adorable pets were so welcoming. There was a snow storm the evening that I stayed in Portland, and Carolyn was kind enough to go outside and clean off my car!!! She clearly goes above and beyond for her guests. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Portland!

    Abbe2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn's cute studio was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my friend. Great location which was easy to get to and from everywhere we wanted to check out in Portland. Super clean with everything we needed (and more: coffee, snacks, beer, wine, an extra heater for the winter). Plus, Carolyn was extremely communicative and friendly leading up to our visit. Once we arrived, she was there to greet us, tell us tips about her home and the area, and even brought her adorable French bulldogs by to say hello. I would absolutely recommend this to a solo or duo traveler(s) and hope to visit again in warmer weather!

    Diane2019-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a great little Portland hideaway, Carolyn’s place is for you! Great location, spotless and clean, super quiet street, and very thoughtful amenities (they had wine, beer and snacks waiting for me in the fridge). Worth every penny!

    Caitlin2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish, we loved our stay at Tom & Carolyn’s! Carolyn helped with the booking and was very responsive and informative. Tom met us upon checking in, despite the rain, and helped us get settled while giving us some helpful tips about the surrounding area. The space is beautiful and perfect for the two nights we spent there. It is elegantly decorated - yet still cozy. There is a nice personal touch of snacks and drinks provided, which we thought was absolutely great. The bed is also extremely comfortable and is perfect for a great nights sleep. We also got to meet Wally and Elmo, who were so cute and friendly! Finally, everything is within walking distance (or a $5 uber, which we took on the rainy day). We would recommend this space to anyone who wants to visit Portland, yet still get a quiet, good nights sleep. Thank you Tom & Carolyn!

    Erin2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Carolyn and Tom's guest suite was perfect. The location cannot be beat, and the space itself was wonderfully decorated, immaculately clean, and comfortable (the bed was super comfy and the window A/C quite powerful). The bathroom had lots of thoughtful touches, like a hairdryer and travel-sized toiletries. Carolyn and Tom provided ample privacy and emptied the trash/provided clean towels quickly upon request. The two adorable French bulldogs (Wally and Elmo) and affectionate cat (Mac) were also highlights. The home itself is also just steps away from excellent restaurants and located in a very nice neighborhood.

    Mike2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying at Carolyn’s during our trip to Portland. The parking was super convenient, and everything was in walking distance! Both Carolyn and Tom were super easy to communicate with, and offered great suggestions on what to do! We really appreciated the snacks and refreshments, as well as being greeted by her dogs and adorable cat whenever we got back. The studio itself is super comfortable, and well equipped with anything you might need. Definitely would recommend this spot!

The condo is a on a quiet and safe residential street, and the bustling commerce of Congress Street is just a block away. The action on Congress Street is all considered part of the Arts District, so it's very artsy! The very popular ArtWalk First Friday is on the first Friday of every month, and it's right around the corner from the condo. This part of town is where the locals hang out; the Old Port is, on the other hand, very touristy. Our local park, Congress Square, is a 1-minute walk and offers outdoor entertainment several evenings a week, including dancing and live music - all for free! Bars, restaurants, shops, and live music venues line Congress Street, so you don't need to go far from the condo for coffee, live music, or a meal. Not only is our street - Deering Street - one of the most beautiful streets in all of Portland - tree-lined, with brick sidewalks and very little traffic - it is also a cohesive collection of high quality architect-designed buildings from the second half of the 19th century that were originally predominantly residential in nature. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Chris was very quick to reply to my messages and our stay was perfect. If you are thinking of an staying for more than a few days the apartment is stocked with everything you can imagine. Great job guys and thank you again!

  • Chris and Mike's place is like a SoHo studio transplanted itself to Portland. Designer details throughout - built-ins, dimmers on virtually every light, a dream shower (literally, I've dreamed about a two-headed rain shower with body jets), tons of closet space if you're in town for a long-term stay. Amenities like Alexa, fast wifi, French Press with great local coffee, Meyer's soap, a beautiful enclosed outdoor deck with umbrella for privacy, custom blinds all make for an incredibly comfy visit. And speaking of comfy, the bed is fantastic. Plush, soft with what feels like a little bit of memory foam and tons of pillows. A great place with great hosts that respond quickly and thoroughly. Thanks for making our stay memorable, Chris!

  • Chris and Mike thought of everything when they updated this this condo! The apartment comes with excellent, modern amenities that don't diminish from the historic bones of the building. The space was exceptionally clean and came fully stocked with everything one might need during their stay. While we ate out for every meal, we could have easily cooked in. Communication was great and the recommendations were exceptional. If you are looking for a comfortable, cozy, boutique space with modern amenities, this is where to stay. Exceptional location and would absolutely stay again when in Portland next.

    Jake2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most well appointed Airbnb property we have stayed in. Chris has thought of everything one could possibly need. Very clean, beautifully renovated, and full of charm. Great location on a quiet street within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and ferry. Bed is very comfortable. We will absolutely stay here (if available) on our next trip to Portland. Made for a perfect weekend getaway!

    Matt2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The little touches of flowers, cute decor and a binder of wonderful food/activity suggestions made it all the more. Chris and Mike are quick to communicate back to you and are super helpful with everything. The Airbnb is super close to the old Port area - 5 min walk to many restaurant options and 15 min walk to the water. Parking wasn't too bad, once we found a spot on a street nearby, we left it. Chris and Mike are also super helpful with helping you find parking garages/spaces if needed. To top of our wonderful stay, they gave us wonderful blueberry muffins from a local bakery for our travels. Truly wonderful hosts!!!

    Caitlin2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • As we walked with our heads down through the light rain coming home from dinner one night I said to my boyfriend, “I am sort of surprised the apartment didn’t come with an umbrella - that would have been a nice touch.” The next morning when we opened one of the closet doors - there hanging at the back was an umbrella. We have stayed at a fair number of AirBnB’s around the US and the world and found this one to be among the best. It truly felt like we were the guests of a good friend who wanted to make sure we had a wonderful stay in Portland. The apartment is very well appointed with tons of storage and every conceivable amenity. We were charmed by the gift basket of local treats we were greeted with. But perhaps most of all will look back fondly on the heated towel rack and bathroom floor (and the shower… which is amazing). The apartment is very well located - a short walk from almost everything we wanted to do or eat. It was spotlessly clean. The building is older and there are other apartments but being on the top floor we heard almost nothing - and availed ourselves of the white noise machine to make sure our sleep was uninterrupted. We listened to music on the surround sound - which made us feel at home. The only aspect of the apartment what was anything less than perfect for us (personally) was the mattress - which was quite a bit softer than what we are accustomed to. Obviously a matter of personal preference. Chris was very easy to communicate with and provided excellent instructions and recommendations. We would highly recommend this apartment.

This STUDIO apt is bright, comfy, beachy, beautiful! The location is outstanding - walking distance to all of downtown. Central to beaches & activities. A/c and parking included. I am flexible, friendly, and happy to share info about Portland. Check our reviews, ask us questions, or just come stay with us!
This studio space is simply perfect for what you need. It's comfortable and it feels like home because it is. It's filled with great art, pieces of handmade furniture, etc. The space is ideal for 1 or 2, as there is only the one QUEEN size bed. But you could sleep a third person on the couch. I've slept on that couch myself many nights and it is very comfortable. Additional details to know... As stated and pictured, this is a studio apartment - meaning all one room. But for a studio it is quite large and spacious. We have a bistro set in the bay windows for dining, enjoying coffee, or sitting on your laptop. TV with apple TV set up. Full size couch and coffee table. Full kitchen. Small, but clean bathroom, with a stall shower - no tub. A/c and ceiling fan. Black out curtains if you like to sleep in. Off-street parking included. Coin-op laundry in the basement.
GREAT neighborhood! We are in the historic district and surrounded by beautiful old homes and brick mansions. We're also right around the corner from Longfellow Square, filled with great restaurants, bars, shops, small live music venues. Longfellow Sq is in the Arts district, home to Portland's best galleries and the Portland Art Museum. We neighbor the Old Port, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from our home. Here are some other landmarks that are helpful... *** About 5 blocks from the Portland Museum of Art and handfuls of galleries. *** Just a couple minutes any direction to great coffee shops, breakfast spots, and my personal favorites, Tandem and Holy Donut. ***Just a couple of blocks South of Deering Oaks Park and a couple of blocks North of the Western Promenade. Both are great parks for walking or watching the sunset. *** Just a couple of blocks from Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. A short 10-15 minute walk to USM and to the 3 grocery stores in Portland (Whole Foods, Hannaford, Trader Joes). ***A short 5 minute walk to the Seadogs Baseball Stadium and 10 minutes to the Civic Center. ***3.7 miles to the closest beach; 7-10 miles to 3 more beaches and Two Lights State Park on the ocean. 4 Miles to Fort Williams Park and Portland Head Light on the ocean. *** 15-20 minute drive to the airport (about $15-20 for a taxi or Uber)
  • Nova's apartment was the perfect home base for exploring Downtown Portland. The apartment was perfect for me (quiet, and walking distance to everything). It was great having a private parking spot as well. The bed was one of the most comfy I have ever slept on and I like that the sheets and blanket were very soft. I followed several of her recommendations and they were all great! I highly recommend this place and if ever I return to Portland I will look to stay here again.

  • My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay! The studio apartment was centrally located, within walking distance to many attractions (restaurants, bars, shops) and a short drive to south Portland/the lighthouses. The pictures depict the apartment well--quaint and cozy. There was also a folder full of suggestions of places to visit and things to do--a major plus for those who have never been to Portland. We definitely recommend!

  • I only stayed at this little gem for 1 night but it was perfect. I didn't get a chance to spend a whole lot of time there, bc I was in Portland for a wedding, but it was walking distance home from the reception! The street is calm and quiet and there is off street parking. Nova was available if needed; we felt very welcome in this quaint studio apartment. Thank you Nova!

    Sarah2014-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nova was really great to work with! She gave great, thorough directions for how to get to the space from multiple ways ( airport, hwy, via bus, greyhound, etc) which made navigating a new city much easier. The apartment was stocked with all the necessary house basics ( dishes, utensils, pots pans, cups), and the instructions for arrival ( getting keys, etc) were easy, since she used a lockbox onsite to keep the keys. It was a very comfortable space and within a mile of major Portland attractions!

  • We had a great time staying here in Portland! Check in and out was very easy and the location is great! Everything was clean and we had all we needed. If there was one thing I could change, it would have been the size of the shower. This is minor and everything else was great. We would stay here again if we came back to Portland!

  • Toms place was amazing! It's central to everything, and the views really made relaxing even better. I loved the self-check in, and Tom was quick to respond to my messages as well. I would without question stay here again!

  • Really outstanding location, right in the heart of Portland and quick walk to most of the city. Easy check-in process, VERY clean, and a super comfortable, stylish apartment.

  • It was a great space in an absolutely amazing location.

    John2019-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Safe, central, chic, and cozy. This place is perfect for a few days in the middle of Portland. We were able to check in before the scheduled time, and when the weather turned bad, Tom offered to let us stay a little after check out. We stayed without a car, and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go really easily. It was just perfect!

    Casey2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Having lived in Portland for six years before moving to NYC, I know what a true Portland experience feels like. This spot is hands-down the best way to experience the Old Port. Our favorite bar is right downstairs (Taco Escobarr), it's walking distance to every other possible restaurant worth dining at, and it has the cool, artsy vibe that Portlanders are known for. Tom was also incredibly accommodating with early check in and late check out, putting the icing on the cake for us. We're already planning to book again for our next visit home!

    Kylie2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tom was a great host. He sent very detailed check-in information, including photos of where to park, which was extremely helpful. You can see the parking lot from the apartment - it's less than a block away. The apartment itself was clean and had all the amenities we needed.

    Julie2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Toms place is extremely clean and in a great location. He is very responsive for any questions and let us check in a little early as we were in the area early. We stayed in 2 of his units during our trip and both were perfect.

Explore all that Portland has to offer from this historic apartment. Everything is within walking distance from this charming, vibrant and eclectic apartment. Cozy and rugged, it’s built with comfort in mind. The apartment is just blocks from the Saturday Farmer’s Market and a large, tree-lined park with playground, splash pool and tennis courts. Includes one off-street parking spot and plenty of local expertise. Josh and Melissa are always right upstairs in this Victorian duplex.
Comfortable furniture, original hard wood floors, ample space, lovely light and unique details in this artistically arranged apartment in our two-family home will provide the perfect digs for your Portland adventure.
We are close to all that downtown Portland has to offer, but conveniently located near the highways. Use our space as your base camp for all your Maine adventures. We love living in our historic place because the neighbors are really great and because it's so easy to get out and about on foot or by bike.
  • Tiny issue, we texted the host, and they fixed it instantly!

  • Good value for the cost, with lots of space. Good central location. Free off-street parking spot is a big plus. The apartment itself is not the most up to date, but it’s very clean and spacious. Owner lives upstairs and is helpful and friendly.

  • The inn was great! 1st floor apt with host above. Super easy check in. Zen artsy vibe with Victorian charm. Amazing location close to everything with parking! Took an Uber one night so we wouldn’t have to worry about drinking and driving or parking-less than 10 bucks. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family!

  • What a cute space! High ceilings and great personal touches made this place a great home away for our vacation. Melissa gave us a very detailed list of restaurants to check out and she did not steer us wrong. Plenty of games and books around for the rainy day we had, and easy access to downtown Portland. Such a great stay — will definitely be staying again!

  • Close to restaurants and shops. Convenient parking spot via condo association. Comfy bed and quiet at night. FYI the condo is on the third floor with steep stairs, so if you have heavy bags take that into account. If you're looking for clean and adequate accommodation in Portland this is a good choice.

    Kassia2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay at Bruce’s place. It is very basic, but the location is great to walk around Portland. It may have been a bit overpriced. Also, it was easy to find street parking so I would steer clear of paying $40 for a spot for the weekend (especially bc Sunday’s are free).

    Mike2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice apartment & centrally located. Check in was very easy. Overall good experience and would stay here again.

    Hugh2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great little apartment on upper floor of house in quiet neighborhood. Walked to many restaurants and attractions throughout the weekend we stayed. Would highly recommend for travelers looking to stay within walking distance to downtown. Bruce was easy to communicate with and available to make suggestions.

  • This is a great location in the heart of the arts district and wonderful restaurants! Within walking distance to the old port area and many of the beloved sights of Portland. The apartment was neat and clean and everything we expected. Bruce was a great host and very responsive to our needs.

  • This was a clean and comfortable apartment in a quiet area. Perfect for a central location to do day trips south or north.

    Steven2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house is fine with a good location. The entrance to the house is not well maintained and we found no one was shoveling or dealing with the ice which made it difficult and uncomfortable to get to the door. Would not recommend for elderly people or children.

    Michael2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is kept very clean, and provided a suitable place with a great location to stay for the night. Please note that he does not have WiFi, and also that parking will be offered for a price- IT IS NOT INCLUDED. These are two things that I had mistakenly assumed would be available for free. They are however listed on his this page, so be certain to thoroughly read this listing before booking! Being from Massachusetts- our service was pretty horrible, so prepare for the possibility of being without service or WiFi! Do research ahead if you have not been to Portland- as there are many amazing places very close, but there will not be any welcome pamphlets with suggestions when you arrive. Overall incredible location, and very clean. Owner is very responsive if you have trouble.

Enjoy the quieter end of Oak Street in the heart of Portland's Arts District. This studio is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. For your comfort we provide linens, extra pillows, organic cotton towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Blackout shades and a white noise machine will ensure a peaceful sleep in the city. A fully-appointed kitchen with plenty of bar ware, cookware, coffee, tea, sugar and creamer will make you feel at home and able to eat in if you choose. Two large closets are provided for your items. Parking for one car is included in the adjacent parking lot.
The Arts District is the best place to stay in all of Portland! Walk anywhere on the peninsula or just step out your door and find yourself in the middle of the finest galleries, live music and dining Portland has to offer. Just a few blocks from the waterfront, this section of Congress Street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios as well as the Portland Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA, the Center for Cultural Exchange, the State Theater, the Portland Stage Company, the Center for Maine History and more. Several music venues offer live music in the Arts District : Blue, 650 Congress Street: A jazz club with every Saturday dedicated to the genre and live music nearly every night of the week ranging from open mic to Irish session. Tapas and a good wine selection. Empire, 575 Congress Street: Eat at Empire Chinese Kitchen before heading upstairs to see a show. Local and national acts pass through this small club, and it's home to the long-running Clash of the Titans series. Geno's Rock Club, 625 Congress Street: This rock/metal club has character. The theater-style set up makes every spot in the house a good one, and the whiskey is good. One Longfellow Square, 181 State Street, Suite 201: Hosting acts from all genres, this is a great place to hear old favorites and learn new artists. The bar offers local draft beers and cocktails made with local spirits. Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress Street: This mid-size venue attracts fantastic artists from across the country and supports the local scene, too. The beer selection offers many locally brewed options like Bunker, Oxbow, and Allagash. Space Gallery: 538 Congress Street: This Congress Street arts center hosts documentaries, community events, and music acts. Whatever the format, it's sure to be something that makes you think. Enjoy locally-made Urban Farm Fermentory cider or draft beer from Bunker Brewing Company. State Theater, 609 Congress Street: The State Theater could easily force its captive audience to buy overpriced drinks, but this mid-sized venue keeps its beer selection local, so you can enjoy your favorite Maine brew while you listen to the national acts that visit this historic theater. Portland has nearly 400 restaurants. A few worth trying right in the neighborhood include Emiltsa, 555, Taco Escobarr, Sur Lie, David's, Empire, and Boda.
  • Awesome location right in the heart of the arts district very very close to great restaurants, stores and the Portland museum of art. We were able to walk everywhere in the city that we wanted to go. The apartment itself is very stylish and industrial, the bed is HEAVENLY, we miss it already! He has a fully stocked kitchen available if you want to cook for yourself, the full size fridge was great too. Highly highly recommend. We would stay here again on returning to Portland. Thanks again Tom!

    Jessica2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment in one of the best parts of the city for good eats! Awesome food and drink options located within a minute or so walk, many of which are open late night. The rest of Portland is within walking distance as well. Don’t feel like walking? Use your favorite ride sharing app (rides are surprisingly cheap)! Overall, we loved our stay at Tom’s place. We’ll be back if we find ourselves in Maine again.

My husband and I have come to Portland once a year for the last 5 years and this loft has one of the best locations we have found. It is so clean and has everything you could need even for such a small space. Parking is free and close by and check in was simple.

  • Thank you for fantastic experience We truly enjoyed our first visit to Portland Grate location and close to everything , including the Old Port area where we spent majority of time The apartment was clean, tastefully decorated and included everything you would need on short vacation . We felt like at home comfortable and safe The convinient parking across the street parking was also a big plus All the instruction that Tom sent in advance, made check in smooth and easy I definitely recommend the place

Simple unit minutes to downtown Portland in the hottest and very transitional neighborhood of West Bayside. IN FULL DISCLOSURE the property is very close to the homeless shelter thus a lot of people wander the street at times during the day but it is safe and generally quiet at night! There are 5 restaurants within a block, its 2 blocks to the Arts District & just a 10 minute walk to Old Port.
  • Pictures are accurate. Small space, but just big enough for two people if you share a bed. The A/C is powerful and helped with the heat. The apartment itself was clean, but unfortunately we realized later in the night that our sheets were very obviously NOT cleaned prior to our stay. We found pet hair and dirty socks in the bed. This was a huge disappointment and made sleeping there very uncomfortable. The street the building is on had a lot of (homeless) people outside of it during the entirety of our stay. Not sure I would call the neighboorhood safe, especially coming and going at night. Overall, we were disappointed. We got the Airbnb to feel more comfortable in the city, but next time we will certainly stay at a hotel considering the prices were comparable.

  • worked great for us to be close to mecca. great host.

    Melinda2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is well situated - within walking distance from city sites, food establishments, and ferry terminal. Amenities are lovely and simple, access is easy, and the overall experience is very positive. The hosts were very helpful, and were able to accommodate my special request (due to the wedding i was attending).

    Boris2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Minimalist apartment has what you need but nothing more. Great walking distance to everything downtown. Immediate surrounding streets are definitely full of people wandering the streets all night, but we didn’t have any issues.

    Bradley2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location is as described which is seedy (at best) but the upfront nature of the hosts made that tolerable. The place itself was small and kinda dumpy but compared to how expensive everything else is in town, it was more than serviceable.

    Allison2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great. Bed super duper comfortable and about 15 mins walk from Downtown as promised. Thanks John and Missy!

    Ashley2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • John is a great host. Don’t miss out on his new Oyster Bar below the AirBnB. Great service, food, and conversation with the locals. Looking forward to our next stay already!

    Alexander2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We kind of knew what we were getting into since I did a search of the area on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps street view. It’s not a good area despite it being close to many good spots to eat etc.. One of the windows in the bedroom area was broken and it got pretty hot at night so we were left with only one window that would open. Since the window was open we awoke to the pleasant sound of someone vomiting early in the morning. Above all the place was unclean. We felt uncomfortable walking barefoot. There were particles of dirt or sand on the floor as well as many sticky spots. The sheets were not clean, there were hairs and glitter on the bed. Thankfully Portland is such a great place that if you’re just looking for a cheap place to sleep for a night it won’t kill you.

Updated unit includes full Bath with tub, galley kitchen, free street parking and laundry if needed! Located in the trendy Bayside neighborhood.. sort of like Brooklyn 20 years ago thus transitional, but super safe and super close to all downtown/Old Port amenities!
    Comfortable, cozy and clean.
A great, transitional neighborhood. A bit of street traffic during the day, but extremely safe and very quiet at night and as close to downtown as anywhere. Have lived here 3 years and love it myself. Trader Joe's, Back Bay Grill, Bintliffs, Bayside Bowl and a fantastic Flea Market (Flea-for-all) all within 2 to 3 blocks also!

  • John's spot is situated closer to lots of downtown stuff in Portland, and one definitely gets the sense more stuff is going up around it in the near future. Clean, comfortable, simple lodging, with great communication from host. Would go back in a heartbeat.

  • John's place worked out good for us. A bit sketchy neighborhood, but John has clearly stated that in his listing. Checkin/out was easy (lockbox that he will send you the code for), the place is fairly dated and worn, but was clean and serviceable. We appreciated the extra touches, like the little shampoo bottles, water, painkillers and extra toothbrushes.

  • Great place. Great town. John was a great host

  • Conveniently located and very clean. Easy check in and check out. Per the other reviews and description, definitely a transitional neighborhood, we didn’t spend much time in the neighborhood outside the unit. Quick and cheap cab ride to the shops and restaurants at Old Port.

  • Great apartment and walkable distance to mostly everything

  • John's place was absolutely wonderful. It was really easy to get anywhere in the area. The home felt welcoming, the beds were comfortable and the water was hot for the showers! Thanks for the weekend John.

  • Great little place just on the outskirts of the Arts District. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, which was nice because we had free parking at the apartment! It came with all the amenities we need, including a kerig, pots/pans, and even soap and shampoo!

This beautiful first-floor apartment is in a gorgeous 19th century house, redone in a modern style with exposed brick and non-working fireplaces. Here you'll find everything you need for a wonderful stay in Portland, as well as proximity to some of the city's best restaurants, bars, and arts attractions - literally just four blocks up the street. We also rent our sailboat overnight through Airbnb for more adventurous guests. Drop us a line for more info! Portland STR registration # (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)
Four blocks away, people will pay $300 a night to stay at the Westin. Here you can have a whole apartment for just a fraction of that! This is a 1-bedroom apartment in a beautiful old house. There's a spacious bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a living room and eat-in kitchen.
Up until a few years ago, Parkside was known as one of the rougher neighborhoods in town. Things have changed a lot. It's now one of the few placed on the Portland peninsula where everything isn't being turned into luxury condos, and where families can still thrive - and yet we are so close to some of the city's biggest attractions. It's also said to be the most diverse square mile in all of Maine. Please keep in mind that our location is right smack dab in the middle of a major city - and all the good and bad things that come along with that. So while you'll get outstanding convenience and accessibility, sometimes it gets a bit noisy at night. It you're looking for a quaint little place by the sea this might not be the place for you.
  • Chris was easy to get in touch with and let us check in several hours early. The place was clean, charming, and in a convenient location. Would definitely stay here again!

  • I put in a pretty last minute request after my boyfriend and I decided on a whim to go to Portland for a night. Chris was kind enough to let us stay, very communicative, and made the whole thing easy. The space is beautiful (it even has a deck we didn't get a chance to use this time around!) and an easy walk to all the action of downtown. I would definitely recommend this place to others! Thanks again, Chris, for a lovely stay!

  • We had a very brief stay but it was a lovely space and was sparkling clean. It's a great size in a very convenient location. The bed is squeaky but otherwise it's a great spot.

  • We had an amazing time in Portland!! Chris was able to accommodate us last minute and we loved the location. Easy walk to Downtown and Old Port.

  • The place was pretty big, lots of good restaurants were close to Chris' place.

  • This is a handy location and easy walk to all the attractions of Portland. Neat and tidy, it was a great spot to stop and parking is available and only a block away for longer than a night time only stay.
