  • We stayed 2 nights at Mike's place and had a great time there! Mike was extremely hospitable, and took care of all our needs. The fireplace was lit up prior to our arrival, and there were fruits and chocolates on the table for us. :) A very nice touch from Mike! Breakfast was amazing, and we had it once in his house, and another time at the porch of the cottage. It was raining when we got there, and it was pretty muddy on the ground around the cottage. Nevertheless, we had a really great time there! We also had the seafood platter that was really delicious!! Thank you Mike!

  • Absolutely perfect! The best place we could imagine after finishing the three capes walk! He is an amazing host and the cottage was so beautiful :)

  • Best ever breakfast and dinner preparation from Mike. The house is excellent built like 5 star . The environment are really cozy and farm stay feeling with surrounding of sheep , duck, horse and many . Mike is a very very professional Chef and warming person . The view from the cottage covered the bummer Bay view ( sunrise is cool there) . Luxury view I would say. Night time with the galaxy star across ... I highly and strongly recommended this cottage . Thanks again for the everything .

  • Mike's cottage is very sweet and cozy. His communication was fantastic, super-flexible and generous with offering last-minute meals, coffee and home-baked brioche! Definitely worth putting Mike on your itinerary...!

  • Michael and the farm stay cottage is great. A cosy little cabin, easily warmed by a wildfire heater. All amenities included. Michael offers a wonderful continental breakfast included in the price. His freshly baked, home cooked bread was incredible. Highly recommend for those passing by or needing a few days.

  • Best. Airbnb. Ever. You won’t regret it.

    Siona2018-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived on a cold rainy afternoon and were welcomed by our host who'd already started the fire to warm the cottage. Beautiful  bay views, a cosy cottage with a very comfortable bed and impressive gardens, with horses, turkeys and ducks on the property were an added bonus. Mike is a welcoming host with an easy charisma.

  • This is a lovely house in a beautiful part of the world. It is private but close to amenities. We loved the jetty and the toasty warm heater.

  • Fantastic location. Great for a getaway!

    Adam2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best place we stay in Australia for our road trip in Tasmania. Around 45min drive from Hobart but the drive was totally worth it. The house is clean and the amenities is new and as it described. One day is definitely not enough to stay here especially during summer where they provide 2 kayak and safety vest for us to use. Recommended it to some of my friends who coming to Tasmania !!

  • My husband and I stayed at Sea Whispers for 2 nights at the start of our 7 night trip around south Tassie, which was an easy drive from the airport to be able to arrive in daylight. The view of the water, private jetty and privacy was amazing, it was a great spot to go to Port Arthur and explore the area. The pot belly was a great place to sit in front of to have wine and nibbles. If you’re wanting a very relaxed open space with water views and fishing, this is it, thanks Jie we loved it.

    Vicki2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed with this beautifully appointed cottage. Super clean, modern, spacious, private with views to die for. We booked a long weekend / winter escape here and spent our time curled up in front of the log fire watching the storms roll in across the water. A perfect escape only an hour from Hobart. Will definitely be back to stay again and recommend to friends and family. Jie was quick to respond with any communication and the self check in was faultless.

    Emma2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

  • This was an excellent experience staying here. The views from the house and deck were an absolute pleasure every morning and evening. The bed was very clean and comfort. All facilities, like cooking, washing etc. are of high quality. Ann and her family and dogs were very friendly and easy-going. Great value!

  • What a beautiful home in a beautiful part of the world! We stayed at Ann's home during Falls Festival. It was the perfect size for the 5 of us and an easy drive to and from Falls each day. Ann was so helpful with local tips and even arranged a locals parking pass for us so we could get closer to the event. Thanks again Ann!

  • We were travelling through Tasmania and stopped at Ann’s place for one night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. It was sparkling clean and the beds were so comfy. The kitchen has all the amenities you need and the pantry has some little bits like bread and milk for the guests. Could not recommend enough for a totally relaxing stay!

  • Perfect place at a lovely spot. We had a great time and can highly recommend this place.

  • If i could, i would rate this place 10 stars. It is absolutely like a 5 star country stay. Everything is absolutely spotless and ridiculously comfy. We were really impressed with the interior and place. Ann was also very understanding and accommodating of our needs when we checked in later than we expected. There was also lots of easy breakfast items - butter and milk in the fridge. There was even a compost bin for food scraps. This is definitely a must stay for anyone travelling along the east coast and is a wonderful place to stay.

    Marion Bay, Tasmania, Australia

Open plan timber cottage with sweeping views across dairy pasture to Maria Island, Marion Bay Beach and Forester Peninsula. We have easy access to Port Arthur and Tasman Peninsula to the south, and Orford and the East Coast to the north. An easy 40 minute drive from Hobart and convenient 20 drive from Hobart Airport. (Final half k is well-maintained gravel road.)
Our house features clean lines, polished timber floors, white walls decorated with Tasmanian art. The house is small, however the cathedral ceiling and mezzanine create a spacious feeling, while the wood fire easily heats the living area. The house has a generous covered verandah ideal for morning coffee and outdoor lunch. We have a rain water tank supplying clean drinking water. Our small block includes deciduous specimens, native flora, orchard and vegetable garden. Our garden is a haven for birdlife - from the tiny magnificent blue wren to the noisy wattle bird. The fields and dams are home to native hens and marsh harriers and are visited by wedge-tail and sea eagles, herons and swans. The garden is visited by the odd wombat, bandicoot, poteroo and little forest bat. We love our weekender and stay at every opportunity, rain, hail or shine. The house is simple but very comfortable. The area is safe, fantastic for long walks and bike rides on country roads or along the spectacular Marion Bay Beach. We are 15 minutes drive from the township of Dunalley along a picturesque seaside road, for petrol, groceries, pub and cafés (the Dunalley Fish Market is renown for its fresh seafood and chips).
We are situated in a small coastal hamlet, surrounded by a beautiful dairy farm. Our neighbours include Gillespie's Ginger Beer factory, artists and makers and the award winning Bream Creek Vineyard and Cape Bernier Vineyard. We enjoy the dairy farm's beautiful herd of friesian cows and the coast views and views toward The Ragged Tier and Maria Island.
  • Gordon's place was just what we required, in terms of location, amenities and ambience. There were some lovely personal touches we did not expect, and it was a delight to stay at this peaceful haven for the weekend. As a host Gordon was quick to respond and gave us plenty of details of what to expect and the house rules. This would be an ideal place to stay for anyone looking for a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, we just wish we'd had longer to enjoy the tranquility.

    Judi2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful and inspiring studio haven high on the hill in the middle of this great community. It has everything you need to feel at home including a abundantly rich market garden stall just a stroll away down the road. It really is a creatively rich environment to be. Would recommend visitors to the area to stay at Gordons place. Thanks again.

    Genna2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • A clean and cosy place to get away from it all. A good location for exploring both Maria Island (highly recommended!) and Port Arthur.

    Michael2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gordon’s place is a beautifully designed home with pastoral views towards the water, a good home base for day trips and wonderfully comfortable for days in alike. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, mornings on the veranda, and clear starry nights as seen through the skylights in the loft. Loved our stay here, we had everything we needed (and Gordon was kind enough to meet us at check in to show us around)!

    Stephanie2019-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with a peaceful outlook. Very comfortable and relaxing.

    Demetra2019-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gordy and Sarah's place was absolutely stunning. The views, the amenities, everything! Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back.

    Juan Pablo2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great base to stay to explore the Tasman Peninsula and surrounds. Very peaceful and a great place to get a break from city life.

    Yvonne2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Gordon’s place. The house provides a serene and beautiful space in which to relax and enjoy the serenity of the house gardens and beauty of the local area. We enjoyed sitting on the verandah taking in the view, walking across the road to the community garden stall to buy some fresh produce for dinners, the local wines and the 5 minute drive to magnificent Marion Bay for walks and swims and the warm welcome of the hosts. If you want a peaceful, laid back holiday in a stunning environment this is the place to be. Just take food as there are no shops near by and the community garden has limited seasonal produce- the kitchen is well set up for cooking.

    Dunalley, Tasmania, Australia

Flotsam has two fabulous fully self-contained studios, right at the doorway to the Tasman Peninsula. Each has their own private surroundings and fantastic views. We are about 30 mins due east of Hobart Airport. It's ideal for one-night stays, but, if time permitting, treat yourself to a few days so you can explore this incredible area which is all within easy reach. The Studios are well-designed and modern, and have lovely touches which will make your stay very comfortable and special.
Flotsam is perched high above the beautiful Dunalley Beach which you can access from your studio. At low tide you can walk way out on the shoals. It's quite unique. And only 15 mins away is the start to the Tasman Peninsula, where you can visit the Port Arthur Convict Site and all the natural wonders, like the Tasman Arch and the Blow Hole, or put your hiking boots on an do the famous walks - like Three Capes, Crescent Beach, Ship Stern's Bluff, Waterfall Bay! They're fabulous! Or if you want to explore the beaches, there's our Marion Bay Beach, or Sommer's Bay Beach near Murdunna, or Eaglehawk Neck Beach, or the lovely bay beaches of Dodges Ferry. We have some terrific places to eat in Dunalley - the Waterfront Cafe, where you can watch the boats at anchor in Blackman Bay. Or go to Bruce's down on the canal for authentic fish and chips wrapped in newspaper. Or just over the road from us is the lovely Bangor Vineyard where you can have food and wine. And the Dunalley Hotel is always open for dinner and they specialise in fresh local fish.
  • We found Afloat to be such a relaxing and peaceful space with well thought out finishing touches and comforts. It was perfect for our 10 year wedding anniversary.

  • Great for couples visiting Tasman Peninsula

    Martin2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good stay in Flotsam studio. The studio is very beautiful and beautifully decorated. Very clean. The communication with the host was very good and the access at the studio was easy. The studio is front of the Tasman peninsul, only 15 minutes to the first interesting point. But we were a little disappointed because we didn’t find the calm that we hoped for by the sea. The road passes right by and it makes noise at night and in the morning if you want to sleep. The point is important. The stay was good overall.

  • My family and I had a wonderful time in Brigid's farmhouse. The house is luminous and charming, warming up very quickly with the log fire. The surrounding area is peaceful, and nearby Marion Bay is a delight. Communication with Brigid was fluid and clear. We hope to return soon!

    Daniele2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome heritage property with a fantastic few. It was quiet and secluded with great areas to explore close by!

    Tom2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the farmhouse was ideal for our needs - 30mins from Hobart and less from the the airport, 30mins or so from the Tasman Peninsula and only a pleasant drive through national forest to access the main East coast road. We found the farmhouse to be well-furnished, with great views from the kitchen / dining room, some interesting old furniture, all necessary conveniences and a pleasant master bedroom and en-suite upstairs. Brigid went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Before we left there were comprehensive instructions and advice, during our stay there was adequate communication to ensure all was well and when we did have a problem (not related to the property), Brigid's local contacts went out of their way to help us! We'd highly recommend this property for a small family looking to explore Tasmania for a week or so!

    Christopher2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Charming rustic old house set in a rural location. Great access to port Arthur area and east cost. House is full of books and old furniture but has a relatively modern kitchen. Few spiders about but that's to be expected in the country. Front entry and garden was a little overgrown but views east to the coast more than made up for this. (Note: At the time of our stay the roof deck was not accessible due to leak.)

    Phil2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Old farm house. Communications with Brigid were excellent, and the accommodation provided everything we needed. We had a great relaxing stay. Thank you.

    Sue2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly Brigid was always quick to respond, helpful and transparent. Also went the extra mile regarding things to do, general tips from groceries to directions. As well as some information on arrival regarding the history of the home. Secondly, the house was as described and the pictures were a clear and genuine reflection. It really is exactly what you are assured you can expect; a beautiful and rustic farm house. The house is easy to find and accessible. It is also cleaned to a high standard. Everything you need is there from kitchen utensils, heating both fire and eletric plus blankets, as well as some basics such as toilet paper, shampoo etc The location is perfect for exploring the peninsula to the local town (20 minutes away for stocking up) and Hobart. The house is honestly a lovely place. Renovations are tasteful and in keeping with it's age, history etc As well as capturing beautiful views and lots of sunlight. On a clear day you can see the gorgeous Marion Bay as well as the lovely surrounding farm lands all around. Some sheep roam the nearby paddocks - securely behind fences. I loved I was permitted to roam and explore. I must say the house really does have a strong sense of character. I especially loved seeing the previous owners, Brigid's Mum's, stunning art adorning the walls and the amazing array of books in nearly every room. This place is perfect for everyone. Romantic getaway, lazy days reading beside the wood fire, being a base for exploring the country side, kid friendly and safe for exploring the grounds, or somewhere to hide away from everything. I would definitely not hesitate to recommend this home and stay again should the opportunity arise. I hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as my husband and I. Definitely adventure packed. Big thanks to Brigid for sharing such a lovely home with everyone.

    Melanie2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautifully renovated space oozing with character and charm. Was heavenly waking up to views of pinks and oranges at sunrise out across rolling hills all the way to Marion Bay... from bed! Felt immediately at home, like we had lived there for years. Ps if you're ever selling we'd take it in a heart beat! Thank again

  • Staying with a family is an enjoyable experience. Rebecca and Fred were very helpful and knowledgable about the local area and Tasmania. I would stay with them again in the future.

  • This is an amazing house with a very nice and kind family. The hosts are so friendly, they always give a nice and quick answer when we got some requests. I like their little babies and the two lovely dogs too.

  • We stayed one night on our way from Hobart to Bicheno, good country view around there. Bec and Freg were very nice and Bec made us coffee in the morning, which was very nice. Though sometimes the WiFi didn’t work very well, we still enjoyed our stay there.

  • Lovely cozy and quiet room. Super friendly family and relaxed atmosphere. Can recommend to stay here.

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful location, surrounded by forest and a beach a short drive away Go here to get away from it all!👌

  • Very nice host. Two very friendly dogs, but be careful, they like to jump bed. Not sure what happened to the Airbnb system, but my booking conflicted with another guest. The host managed to arrange another room for us. The house is a bit old, but clean everywhere. For those who like pets, it’s a good place to stay.

I really enjoy staying in her house as her house is so clean and she is so lovely. there is a local dish market nearby where you can get fish and chips and great price, so settle your meal is not an issue in there. I would definitely going back again if I go back to tasmania.

  • Amazing stay. We were amazed when we saw how big and beautiful space it is! I recommend that to everyone! Families, students, everyone!

  • This was our first Air B&B and I wasn't quite sure what to expect! But the description was perfect and Sharon was quite the nicest person you could hope to meet! The house was very clean, tidy and wonderfully quirky, plus it was just round the corner from the pub, which was handy for dinner. The boys enjoyed running around in the garden and we enjoyed a bit of Netflix after they'd gone to bed. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Brilliant stay in a beautiful villa! With a wonderful view

    Nimi2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • It is hard to go back home once you have stayed here! Paul and Chris are very thoughtful hosts and made our stay very comfortable. Cheese platter on arrival, breakfast items for our first day, free bicycles to name a few.

    Maryam2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Chris & Paul's place. Very stylish open space. The hosts are friendly and easily contactable, helped with sight seeing locations and restaurants to visit. The villa is secluded in the country side offering privacy and great views but still close enough to the CBD.

    Mikey2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredible. The house is beautifully designed: each of the spaces has been carefully thought through so that they're both beautiful and comfortable. The furniture and contents of the house are evidently well curated, but it's not stuffy or ornamental. You feel relaxed the minute you turn up. Chris & Paul are super friendly - they helped us out with local recommendations and were great for a chat over the fence, but at the same time respected our privacy and didn't intrude at all. Most remarkably, you can sit out on the deck and feel like you're in the middle of the countryside, yet you're still close to Hobart with plenty of food options, wineries and pubs in between. 10/10, would love to stay again.

    Matt2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place to stay if you are looking to tour around the South Eastern part of Tasmania (Hobart, the Tasman Peninsula, Maria Island and Freycinet) The house is very modern, clean and has all the amenities you can think of. Paul and Chris also provide all the food you could possibly need for your first day, so you don't have to worry if you are not able to make it to the grocery store before hand. We absolutely loved our time there and are already thinking about visiting again in a few years time!

  • It was a joy to meet Steph and Dave. We loved staying in the house and wished we had longer. The view was panoramic, the garden wonderful and the house itself was really comfortable. We hope to visit again on our next Tassie holiday.

    Doug2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem!! So glad we found this exceptional home. Really appreciate the great hospitality and sparkling clean home. Steph and Dave are wonderful hosts and create a special experience with little added touches like some fresh flowers, milk & bread, and house was warm for us on arrival. And the view from every window is the standout feature, breathtaking! We highly recommend this lovingly built and well maintained home. Thanks for our great stay!

    Ashleigh2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don’t do the view justice. Clean, close to beaches and Tasman Peninsula. Comfortable beds, too.

    Lauren2018-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dave and Stephanie are warm and welcoming hosts and the view from their lovely place really is spectacular. They were very welcoming of our little ones. Thanks!!

    Caroline2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don't really do justice to how this lovely space drinks in the stunning panoramic view. With the smell of freshly mowed fields and surrounded by birds this is a real gem. Dave and Steph are warm and generous hosts. Highly recommended.

    Geoff2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The photos are great but they still don’t do full justice to the spectacular view and the charm and warmth of this house. It was just a delight to be there. The timber floors and furniture give a kind of glow to the place, and sitting watching the birds in the native garden was lovely. The bed is very comfortable with nice crisp sheets, and you lie in bed at night and see the sky and Maria Island in the distance. The kitchen is fully equipped and there are good big pans if you want to cook up a big pot of soup - so many places lack this. The location is terrific. The wetlands were very interesting for us and there’s a wonderful walk to do down on the long spit at the beach, as well as walks on the Tasman Peninsula. Our hosts were very kind and helpful and very good with communication beforehand. We had the perfect holiday.

    Cynthia2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay, such lovely accomodation in a beautiful setting. We will definitely stay again. Dave provided some great local tips on what to do around the area- be sure to check out his recommendations.

Relax in secluded comfort in our house on a coastal tidewater. Surrounded by wildlife and in easy reach of a superb beach and Tasmania's finest food and drink, relax on the encircling deck or in the hammocks, birdwatch from the deck, play boules or go cycling, sit around the fire pit at night, barbeque some fine local produce or use as a base for nearby beaches, birdwatching, vineyards or bushwalking, including the Three Capes Track or trips to Port Arthur.
The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and queen-sized bed. The other two bedrooms have double beds. Showers in both bathrooms and a bath in the main bathroom. Open plan kitchen and living area with adjoining study. All new furniture. The house is decorated with local artworks.
You can walk to Marion Bay beach and enjoy this magnificent surf beach, often having it all to yourself. The attached nature reserve abounds with wallabies, wombats and bird life. The surrounding area has vineyards, fisheries, dairies, farmers markets, cafes, restaurants and galleries. A food lovers paradise. You can see pelicans, swans, parrots, and even wallabies without even leaving the house. You can sit outside for an hour and not hear a single noise made by a human and yet just up the road excellent food and services are available.
  • We had such a wonderful, relaxing time here! A lot of thought has obviously gone into making sure guests have everything they need feel very comfortable. We spent our days at the beach and our evenings spotting birds and wildlife. We found the information folder to be very useful and entertaining – loved the advice on where you can watch the kids while drinking a glass of wine, and the kids' version of what to do locally too. Marion Bay beach felt like Tasmania's best-kept secret. It's absolutely stunning, and we had it to ourselves. Thank you, Hamish. We loved our stay.

  • We were not greeted by the host in person, which was fine as we had communicated via email/txt. The neighbours were always friendly with a wave during our 7 night stay. It was a great base for touring the nearby sites. Dunalley's local bakery has delicious items to savour! A beautiful modern large house right on the bay.

    Susan2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay in the Tide House, this time for 8 nights. It's a superb let, can't recommend it enough. The kitchen is fabulous, has everything you could need. The house is spacious, light, doesn't lack anything. It's secluded, with lovely views. Both bathrooms are perfectly functional. I highly recommend staying here, it's a beautiful spot, perfect for access to good hikes and fabulous scenery. Hamish is an ideal host - clear communication and quick responses.

  • Tidehouse is a brilliant place to stay. Great location, comfortable and clean. As the description denotes it is right on the water/bay front of Blackman Bay which is a tidal Bay... Lovely to watch the ever changing scenes!

    Ann2019-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my goodness. What an amazing property to spend some time relaxing at. The views - magnificent. We loved being right near the bay. Watching the bird life and even my husband went 'splodging'. Hilarious for the kids. So close to a beautiful beach which is practically deserted. Hobart a close enough drive to spend the day at (markets etc). You've made us fall in love with Marion Bay with your beautiful home. Thankyou so very much.

Dunalley was once a centre for fishing and canning, and had a busy little harbour. There are signs of it still. But now it has numerous oyster farms, sheep farms, an abolone farm, and lots of orchards. It is rural yet attached to the sea. We have a canal and a bridge that opens allowing the fishing and sailing boats through from Blackman Bay into Frederick Henry Bay - a much safer, and shorter way into Hobart. Tho' historically there have been many a shipwrecked vessel at the Narrows, that's the outlet of Blackman's Bay to the Pacific Ocean. Sometimes the swell is so high boats can't risk coming through. We had a catastrophic fire in 2013 which destroyed in total 161 homes. It destroyed the community and the lives of many people. However, if you look closely you will see the amazing survival spirit of the locals - the new school, new community hall and terrific new infrastructure, not to mention the great new homes which have been rebuilt, and the strength that has emerged from the community. Flotsam is one of them.
  • The place was great, everything you could ask for. There's a highway right next to it but with the lack of car the noise level is very tolerable. All in all, it was great

    Jenny2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible space. Highly recommended. Thoughtful touches, warm and inviting, stylish and cosy. I absolutely loved our stay here. Yes close to the highway but the outlook of the beach and feel of the place completely outweighs that. We went to Bangor for lunch which was amazing and then had takeaway from the local pub for dinner- both within 1km of Flotsam.

    Lani2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to book, check-in and leave! The place was as described and can certainly recommend for the traveller!

Vineyards, Dairy, olive grove, cherry orchards, blueberries , grazing , potatoes, distilleries . 10 minutes to Marion Bay. 10 minutes to Wielangta forest & Sand spit reserve . Kellevie is home to the "Hell Fire Cup " & there are kilometres of awesome mountain biking track . Numerous places to eat , 15 to 20 minutes away . We are half way between Hobart & Port Arthur. 40 minutes in each direction . 30 minutes from Hobart Airport .
  • We absolutely loved our stay at The ragged tier. It was spotlessly clean, and we are fussy usually. The linen and towels were crisp and comfy. The breakfast supplies and extras were generous. The house was comfortable and quaint. The view at the top of the hill amazing. Mark was very quick to respond, thoughtful and a great host. Highly recommended.

  • Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we ended up having to cancel our reservation at the last minute (only shortly after arriving at the property) so it was difficult to complete my review as accurately as I would normally. The Shack is a new build at the beachside community of Connellys Marsh. If you like a quiet get away which is close to attractions (Tasman Peninsular, loads of beaches, hikes, local eateries selling freshest of oysters, wineries) then this is the place for you. You’ll love our place because of the views the location and it is RELAXING. Our place is good for couples, small groups for long weekend get aways and families (with kids). 40 mins from Hobart & 30 mins from the Hobart Airport.
The Shack is an open plan light-filled space with two living areas, kitchen and dining that opens up to a deck over looking the bay. The space is large and great for entertaining and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cook top, wall oven and loads of storage. TV and DVD player as well. A wood heater keeps the place warm on cool evenings when the sun goes down. The wrap around deck allows you to follow the sun and the bbq area at the back of the house is nearly always sunny. Two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with laundry), one bedroom has a single bed and bunk beds and the fourth bedroom has two single beds.
Quiet beach area so your place is the perfect space to get away from it all. There are no shops at Connellys Marsh and you will often have the beach to yourself; with the exception of Summer time and long weekends, but even then, its very quiet. The beach is shallow and at low tide the pools of water get very warm - get for kids or big kids who want to float about on a lil. You can play sand cricket and the kids will love to try and catch the soldier crabs on the beach.
  • We had a great stay at the Shack. The location was central to the Tasmania's east coast, a short stroll to the beach and fantastic view. The shack had great amenities including all cooking appliances and the breakfast items were a great touch.

    Basia2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Shack at Connellys Marsh is the ultimate place to relax and unwind with tranquil surrounds. The beach is close and great for that family game of cricket at sunset. Overall, The Shack is a wonderful home for families with everything you could possibly need. Thanks once again Christie for your excellent pre-arrival details.

    Mary-Lou2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Christie is a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcomed and communication with her was impeccable. The shack is in the most gorgeous location and is decked out with everything we needed. We could have easily stayed here longer if we could have. We could hear the sea at night and were lucky to have gorgeous weather whilst we were there. Totally recommend the shack. Great place to stay. Thanks again.

    Annaki2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Connelly’s Marsh is one of Tasmania’s hidden gems. A sheltered bay that is perfect for young kids and spectacular sunsets. Christie’s place is great for a family or couple stay. It’s warm, clean and well equipped. My family enjoyed a very special Easter. Would definitely stay again!

    Tina2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Christie's Air BnB house at Connelly's Marsh was fantastic. We really enjoyed this house and felt immediately comfortable upon arrival. There was plenty of space for us as a group of 3 and the house could easily hold another family, especially with 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was very functional and there was not one thing more we could have wanted as Christie's house supplied everything. I would highly recommend this house to future Air BnB guests who are looking for a home away from away in the natural and unique setting of Connelly's Marsh. Dodges Ferry, Sorell, Richmond are all only a short drive from 'The Shack'. Well done and thank you Christie

    Mary-Lou2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Pristine, quiet and secluded area with fantastic views of the bay. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway with good fishing spots nearby. Plan your next holiday at 'the shack' for sure!

    Ross2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem!this is a five star "shack"most magnificent setting. Stroll to the beach 2 minutes away, great for the kids crystal clear waters and more or less a private beach for those lucky enough to live in this beautiful place of the world. The shack has everything that you need, spotlessly clean, modern and no stress stay. Great space for kids and feels like home away from home. Great dinner at the Bangor Wine and Oyster shed highly recommend the oysters and lamb pie. If your looking for stunning views, peace and quite a short distance from Hobart this is the place to stay highly recommended.

    Jane2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a beach get away with kids? This is it. A roomy beach house with all mod cons and plenty of room for two families. Walking distance to the beach, which is ideal and kid-friendly. Christie was a wonderful host. Communication was clear and warm. We look forward to visiting again soon.

  • Joan was an exceptional AirBnB host! Her space so tranquil, and decorated so beautifully! The bed was so comfortable and we appreciated the little extra things provided such as the bread, eggs, food in the cupboard and toiletries. Her informative emails helped us find somewhere for dinner and make sure we were well looked after. An easy drive from Port Arthur, was lovely to visit Bream Creek and see the beach. Would 110% recommend staying with Joan for a peaceful retreat to recharge the soul!

  • We loved our stay in Bream Creek. The little studio was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed. It was in a very tranquil garden setting with beautiful ocean views. As other reviews have stated there are no blinds, however this wasn't a problem for us because the location is very private and the views are spectacular (so you wouldn't want to block them out). We would definitely stay again.

  • What an absolute gem of a place! My friend and I felt immediately at home throughout our recent 4 night stay at Seaview Retreat. Joan is the essence of service and hospitality - graciously attending to everything and at the same time incredibly discreet. The space was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable. It was like walking into a dear friend's room. The best collection of interesting books if the weather keeps you indoors at all! The view is stunning and a short journey to the captivating surrounds of Marion Bay. We feel so very grateful to have met Joan and Sally and can recommend this place with absolute pleasure. It is said that we should travel around looking for experiences not just 'things' - and it's the local people and their love of their land that best creates an experience - this is what Kath and I received - an incredible experience provided by our hosts and the local land together - what a wonderful way for us to start 2016!

  • We absolutely loved Joan's place. The unit was cozy, well furnished, and had all the necessary kitchen supplies. Lovely breakfast provisions were also provided. One of the best thing about the place were the hosts! Joan and Sally were so kind and welcoming. When they heard we were doing the Overland track later in the trip they even offered to lend us gear! Really wonderful ladies. Unfortunately it rained and we were unable to walk down to the beach, but it did look spectacular from the house. Overall, a beautiful spot to relax.

  • We had a wonderful, albeit brief, stay with Joan and Sally at the Seaview Retreat. The location is quiet and peaceful. The apartment at commands a wonderful view of the water and night sky of an evening. Thank you also for the breakfast :) Absolutely recommend to anyone considering a stay down Marion Bay way.
