Our bed sitter does not have cooking facilities but a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities are available, we are more than welcome to help with any special requests to make your stay enjoyable.
A 15min trip straight down the highway will put you in the Hobart CBD, a stroll around the waterfront, weekend markets, quality restaurants or just some fresh fish & chips from the various waterside Fish Punts, or relax with a coffee overlooking Victoria Dock with its picturesque marina and resident boats and yacht's

Room has a foldout double bed with firm and comfy orthopaedic mattress, also a kettle with tea selection and capsule coffee machine. Outside the room is a private toilet. However, please note that shower and kitchen facilities are NOT available.
Please note that shower facilities are NOT available. As a suggestion there is a aquatic centre 600m away where you could have a swim and shower, the entrance fee is around $7.00, or there are beautiful Savoy Baths located 500m away, with saunas, spa etc. the cost is $35.
Absolute city centre and waterfront with the best restaurants, cafes etc. at your doorstep. Salamanca is reached by foot in about 15min , it is 1km away.

1 Sandy Bay Road, Hobart. You couldn't ask for a better location. This is a spacious furnished and equipped apartment with copious amounts of natural light, comfortably sleeps 2 people in a Queen Bed. (Message me if you want an earlier check-in or a later check-out, I'll try my best to accommodate). So, if you (and your partner) want the convenience of a central location, where fantastic waterfront restaurants serving local fish and produce are within 2 minutes walk, you've found your second home. Hobart is a small city, so why not enjoy the culture and festivities that it has to offer, including the 2 minute walk to the MONA ferry and Port Arthur ferry and Bruny Island ferry. Or you could walk across the park to Salamanca market, historic Battery Point around the corner (5 mins) or a lovely stroll down to Sandy Bay village (10 mins), or if you keep on going, head down to Lower Sandy Bay and enjoy the beach and playground (25 mins). Or you could walk up to North Hobart (20 mins) to enjoy the mix of ethnic cultures and food, including Indian, Japanese, Thai and of course, Italian! And if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, rent a car from one of the 4 different car rental agencies which are 2 minutes walk from the apartment and take a drive down to the Huon Valley, or up to Mt. Field National Park or even over to the East Coast. A day trip to one of these destinations will surely make you look forward to coming home to your relaxing and spacious abode.
This central location is fantastic. It is close to the CBD and parks, historic sites and the market life of Salamanca. And if you really enjoy fish or seafood, head down to the various seafood eateries along the waterside. You also have the convenience of renting a car from one of the 4 car rental agents in the next few streets, to be able to explore the local sites scattered around Hobart and beyond. By the way, there is no parking for cars in the building, but there is plenty of street parking alternatives.

As a scientist, writer, artist, and poet, my home is decorated with an eclectic mix of jellyfish art, Tasmanian natural history, and travel memorabilia. I’ve been told many times that my home feels comfortable and inviting. It’s a splendid location for accessing Salamanca cafes and shops, waterfront festivals and events like MOFO and Taste, and the science precinct with CSIRO and the Institute for Marine & Antarctic Studies. A range of breakfast options: on the go, self serve, or indulgent.
Your bedroom is light and sunny, with a fresh and classy feel decorated in white and gold. Your bedroom and the shared bathroom are on the upper floor (Street level). Downstairs is the kitchen, living room, laundry room, courtyard, etc. Both floors have their own doorways to the building, with lift access; your room is 1 metre away from the upper level entry, which acts as a semi-private entrance. Off-street parking is available with a gate-code: don’t hesitate to ask!
My home is two minutes’ walk from the village in Battery Point, or five minutes’ walk to Salamanca shops and cafes. It’s a lovely neighborhood to take a stroll through and look at the homes from different eras. We often get gorgeous sunsets and sunrises over the Derwent, and dusk is a particularly relaxing time to sit in White’s Park and watch the sail boats, recreational fishermen, and seabirds.

Welcome to our home, a spacious apartment in the heart of Hobart. We are a 10 minute walk to the Saturday Salamanca, Sunday farmers markets and 5 mins to the CBD. The room on the second level, comes with a comfy double bed, all day sun, free wifi, mini fridge, microwave and kettle for those in bed dinners.
We are right downtown, with dozens of bars, restaurants and cafes within 5 minute walk. If you have a car there is free off street parking all weekend and after 5 on weekdays. As for the indoor space, we share the living, dining and kitchen spaces, 2 sparkling clean bathrooms, a laundry with a dryer, outdoor patios and share house company. Perfect stop over for travellers, students or even mainlanders ;)

Macquarie House is of major heritage significance, and one of the oldest surviving buildings in Tasmania. The property is on the Tasmanian Heritage Register, noted as one of the first two brick buildings ever constructed in Hobart. Birch's House first became known as Macquarie House after Governor Lachlan Macquarie stayed there between April and June 1820. The very name of the building ‘Macquarie House' is a recognition of the fact that Dr. TW Birch was favoured by Macquarie. In 1824, the property was converted to a hotel for the first time, and in 1842 the hotel converted to a boarding house (including the additions of coach house and stables). In 2015, it was renovated back to accommodation, and reinvigorating the name 'Macquarie House' - not the stables, but newly renovated guest rooms!

Situated a short walk from historic Salamanca (approx 400m), this light and comfortable apartment gives you great access to all of the bars, restaurants, cafes and art galleries in the area, including the famous Salamanca market held every Saturday. The buses and ferries out to Mona depart from nearby Brooke Street Pier, approximately 700m down the road. Everything you need is a short walk away.
Accessed securely via keypad entry, the apartment was renovated in June 2019, including all new furniture. It consists of a kitchen/living area on the top floor, featuring oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave. The lounge room has a luxury leather pull-out sofa bed, plus access to a covered balcony with views of the city. Downstairs has the large bathroom (including washing machine), plus a bedroom with king-sized bed. A second covered balcony is accessed from the bedroom. There are reverse cycle air conditioners both upstairs and downstairs so you can independently heat/cool your bedroom and living area.
Situated in Hobart's premier and most historic suburb, Battery Point, the neighbourhood is filled with wonderful examples of 1800s cottages. It is well worth just having a wander around the streets for a stickybeak. It is also a stone's throw from Salamanca Place, where the best cafes, restaurants, bars and galleries are located. The closest bars and cafes are only 350m away, an easy stroll along Hampden Road. The waterfront where most of Hobart’s large events happen, such as The Taste of Tasmania and Dark Mofo, is only 450 metres down the road.

All inner-city attractions are within easy walking distance, most of which are only 5 minutes away, read more on this under the heading 'The Neighbourhood'. The apartment itself is located within a secure building complimented by undercover car parking (a rarity in Battery Point!) and lift access. Situated across two levels, you enter into the kitchen/dining/living area enjoying a beautiful sunny aspect towards the Derwent Bridge from the balcony. The sofa in the living area can be converted into a bed to sleep 2 people. The master bedroom and bathroom (with laundry facilities) is located downstairs and has a second outdoor area furnished with a table and chairs.
A 2 minute walk will take you into the heart of the historic Battery Point village, where you can enjoy the heritage architecture and browse the boutiques and cafes. Jackman and McRoss bakery is not to be missed and Da Angelo Italian restaurant is a firm favourite with Hobart locals, both of which are also located in Hampden Road. A visit to Hobart is not complete without a trip to acclaimed MONA and the most scenic way to get there is on the ferry of course! Jump on one of the camo-printed ferries from the Brooke Street Pier, less than 10 minutes walk from the apartment. Salamanca Place is bursting with cafes and restaurants and is just down the road, less than 5 minutes walk. The Sandy Bay shopping precinct is less than 10 minutes walk - here you will find supermarkets, fuel, hairdressers, massage therapists, newsagents and more.

Skybus drop off and pick up is located 50m away. We are available to be contacted at anytime, your privacy is all yours as the apartment will only be used by you when booking in. Please note that there are 24 stairs to climb as the apartment is located on the second story of a corner building.
This second story apartment has windows on almost every corner giving you a birdseye view of the hustle and bustle in a small section of the Hobart CBD. You have the luxury of being in your own private space.
There are various options of bars, cafes, restaurants, dine in or takeaway options within walking distance, along with the CBD shopping precinct. There is a wonderful walk along the Hobart Rivulet that takes you up to the Cascade Brewery in South Hobart, you can walk directly from Collins street towards Mt Wellington. Just a short walk towards the waterfront will take you either by ferry or bus to the world famous MONA which is a must see when in town! Also if you are around on a Saturday the Salamanca Markets are a wonderful attraction, with so many local artisans and fresh local produce. Farmers Market on Sundays located on Bathurst Street, is a fantastic eat and mingle attraction.

If you stay here you are in the heart of the heart of Battery Point! Walk to the docks, CBD, Salamanca markets, Princess Park (Kids will love it ) restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars, MONA ferry and adventure tour bases. Its a fantastic location! Relaxing and private outlook. We live in the main house as we have taken over what was a Bed and Breakfast, the apartment remains as accommodation. We are very conscious of your privacy but not too far away if you need anything!
The main area consists of the queen bed ( feedback is that it is a comfortable bed !) TV/DVD 2 seater couch, dining table and kitchen. There are 2 induction cook tops, convection microwave and plenty of crockery etc. The second room is separated by a compact bathroom. It is a small room with a single bed and wardrobe. We have off street parking a premium for this area.
We are very privileged to live in such a beautiful place, so close to Salamanca and Battery point precinct. This gives you the option of doing without a hire car as you can walk everywhere. Many guests choose to be car less for a few days and then hire one to go further afield. We love the accessibility to all Battery Point has to offer!

The design is enhanced by stunning water and city views (day and night) and you have a private bathroom all to yourself. We have free on-street parking or paid secure car park within the house.
Iconic 1900s battery point mansion within close proximity to Salamanca (2 min walk), Battery Point cafes and restaurants and the city (10 mins walk). We have a cute little garden upfront, a fully equipped chef's kitchen and laundry with all new appliances. You will have a private room on the first floor of the house that overlooks the ocean and the city. The house is occupied by our family and the only shared spaces where you might encounter other people are the kitchen (and the laundry, if you choose to use it). The bedroom door does not have a lock, nor do any doors in the house, as the place is quite historic and the doors were originally made by the convicts, we choose to preserve their look by not adding modern clutter. Having said that, the place is very peaceful and tranquil being a family home.\ Fresh towels and bathroom toiletries provided.
Regarded as the most prestigious suburb in Tasmania, Battery Point is right in the heart of all the action in Hobart. Plenty of coffee shops within a stone throw, Salamanca is 2-minute walking distance and the city is about 10 miuntes walking distance.

Birch's House first became known as Macquarie House after Governor Lachlan Macquarie stayed there between April and June 1820. The very name of the building ‘Macquarie House' is a recognition of the fact that Dr. TW Birch was favoured by Macquarie. In 1824, the property was converted to a hotel for the first time, and in 1842 the hotel converted to a boarding house (including the additions of coach house and stables). In 2015, it was renovated back to accommodation, and reinvigorating the name 'Macquarie House' - not the stables, but newly renovated guest rooms!
