The private bedroom is a sunny, eastern facing room. You'll be able to see the sunrise from your windows if you prefer to wake up early. We have a shared bathroom on the 2nd level directly outside the guest bedroom.
As an Air BnB guest, you are welcome to share all communal spaces, including the living room, dining room, kitchen, front porch, and back yard. We strive to make our home an open and welcoming space to all and frequently entertain musicians and fellow educators.
Our home is located in Edgewood, a close-knit community in Northeast DC. The diverse neighborhood is full of older residents as well as young families and children. Residents enjoy being outside and getting to know their neighbors. We are located within walking distance of the Rhode Island Avenue metro station (Red line), which is two stops from Union Station. Edgewood itself is a residential neighborhood, but there are many nearby options for grocery stores, dining out, and other amenities. Our favorite new addition to the neighborhood is Huacatay, a delicious Peruvian restaurant three blocks from our home. We are within a 20 minute walk of the new Monroe Street Market on the edge of the campus of Catholic University. There you will find Busboys & Poets, a local restaurant/bookstore that often hosts community events. Additionally, there is a Starbucks, & Pizza, Chipotle, Potbelly, and Barnes and Noble bookstore. On Saturdays, the community holds an outdoor farmers' market outside Fox Loves Taco, a local breakfast taco/coffee shop. Directly adjacent to the Rhode Island Avenue metro station is Rhode Island Row, a mixed use residential and retail area. There you will find a CVS pharmacy, Smoothie King, Dunkin Donuts, Chipotle, Sala Thai, Carolina Kitchen, and more. Finally, a 15 minute walk down Rhode Island Avenue takes you into the historic Bloomingdale neighborhood where here you will find great restaurants and bars, a yoga studio, and a farmers' market during the summer and fall next to Big Bear Cafe.

Start the day with a homemade breakfast at the cozy dining table in this newly renovated apartment in historic Eckington. Curl up in bed with a book and take in the boho decor, with its trailing plants, hanging raffia baskets, and pastel accents. NOTE: Apartment is in a historic home so sounds from the main house upstairs might disturb you. If there are any issues please let me know and we try to remediate them. If sensitive to noise please find a more appropriate accommodation. This is a studio apartment in the basement of the home. Thanks!
This apartment is located in the basement of a larger rowhome in NE Washington DC. Although, it is a new apartment the house is still old and sounds and creaks may come through. Thank you for understanding.
Close to Union Market, which has expanded recently to include a Trader Joe’s and Blue Bottle coffee. The neighborhood is also home to Qualia Coffee, as well as a great pub called The Pub & The People.

Classic DC rowhome basement that's recently been emptied and looking to be utilized for the summer. It's really going to only serve as a crash pad for one or two flexible travelers who don't plan to do much more there than shower and sleep. This will be reflected in the price of course as well. However it's been newly renovated so you're staying in a fresh place and you'll have your own private entrance. The other three tenants are upstairs and live there full time.
Eckington is a suburban part of DC though very close to everything like Logan Circle and other arteries to get around.

My place is in close walk to local hotspots including Red Hen, Pub & the People, Boundary Stone , Anxo, Shaw's Tavern, Howard Theatre (best live music in the city), Union Market (foodie's paradise), NOMA, Rhode Island Metro, the P6 bus will take you directly to downtown/The National Mall, Met Branch Trail bike/walking, and a short jaunt to The Capitol (1 mile), tourist spots and Smithsonian Museums. You’ll love my place because of its centrally located convenient and quiet location.
I am offering a cozy bedroom with exposed brick walls that's warm and welcoming. You will be sharing my renovated condo in a large older brick house in one of the oldest neighborhoods in DC, Eckington. PLEASE NOTE: There are not windows in this bedroom-but I guarantee you will have the best night's sleep here. It is also TINIER than the fancy Air BnB photos taken appear. My condo offers a cozy living room with exposed brick that is equipped with Apple TV to stream all the Netflix and HBO GO to your hearts content. A comfortable couch and lounging chair are a good way to wind down after a day of exploring the sights. I have an extensive record and book collection for you to peruse and play some jams. You have free range to my galley kitchen available with a toaster, microwave, fridge, gas stove electric, electric water kettle, family heirloom antique cast iron skillets (no soap please), excellent kitchen tools/knives, and a French press with local small batch roasted coffee. It's a great space to throw some meals together or to reheat some leftovers.
Note on your GPS--my home is in NE, not NW--many guests accidentally go to NW and have to back track to get to my place. Eckington is a beautiful residential area filled with picture worthy historic and colorful row houses. There are a few corner stores in the area and I am east of Bloomingdale, to the west of the Rhode Island development and Gallaudet University, to the south you will find NOMA and to the north Brookland. All of these areas are walking distance from my house (10-20 min). NoMa offers a large, major Harris Teeter grocery store, restaurants (mostly fast or semi-fast food), coffee shops and a CVS. Also, a red line metro stop is there. You can get there by taking a walk/bike path, called the Met Branch Trail 15 minutes. Bloomingdale has a quaint little market, offering more than the regular convenience stores, including a solid wine selection. There are some great hip restaurants and bars there that I recommend all guests to check out. One of my favorite farm to table restaurants in all of DC is located there, the Red Hen. My favorite coffee shop in the city, Big Bear is also in walking distance. There is a also yoga studio, Yoga District that offers affordable yoga classes. In the summer, the DC Park and Rec department opens the Harry Thomas Recreation Center pool (a block from my house) where you can go for a splash or swim in one of the lap swim lanes. The DC pools are free to all. The Rhode Island metro stop and shopping district is currently accessible by walking along the Met Branch bike/walking path. There you can find a CVS, Home Depot, major grocery store, TJ Maxx, and some restaurants (semi-fast to sit down). Brookland is also along the Met Branch Trail and close to the nearby Catholic University and the Basilica. Other notable destinations in Brookland include a local brewery, art spaces, dance classes, Yoga/Pilates, and many art studios. There are several bike share stations in close proximity to my house, and within 20 min you can be to almost anywhere in DC through, including all the sights. I have one helmet to loan, bike maps and can give you tips as I am an avid biker and bike commuter. DC is a super flat and bike friendly city and one of my favorite activities in the city. Of particular note, for a bit longer walk, I am a little less than 25 min away from the Shaw Metro stop which houses the green/yellow line. And H Street is also fairly close to me, although I would recommend biking there.

Located in Eckington, a residential neighborhood downtown (ie. close and quiet). Your bedroom boasts a queen bed, closet, and lots of natural light. Additionally, you have a private bathroom. Friendly reminder that you are renting a room, not the whole house. This means *no* kitchen access (ie. no cooking/baking. Cereal and milk / heating up leftovers and you're in the clear).
The house is 100+ years old. It's kept the charm and character, but did have a facelift ten years back. Still has hardwood floors and high ceilings throughout. Your private room is upstairs and has two windows, a full closet, and a queen bed. Additionally, you'll have full access to the guest bathroom just outside your bedroom (I have my own, so this will just be yours). Great for business travelers and tourists alike. Location: A 15-minute walk to the metro or a 15-minute uber/lyft ride to downtown DC (add extra time during rush hour). The Convention Center is only 1.5 miles, the Capitol 2 miles, and Union Station 1.5 miles away.
Eckington is such a fabulous neighborhood. It truly has a residential feel to it, even though its surrounded by modern amenities. Within a half mile of the house is everything from the all famous Red-Hen (rustic Italian) to Big Bear Cafe. Yoga and cycle studios within a 10 minute walk as well.

Welcome to DC! This renovated 1 bedroom basement apartment with a private entrance and private bathroom is in the Edgewood neighborhood. The unit also has a living room separate from the bedroom with a futon. Edgewood is a quiet residential area near Catholic University and only a 10 minute walk to the Rhode Island Ave Metro. it's only a 10-15 minute car ride to major attractions (Capitol, museums, etc). Casual food options nearby include S & G Seafood, McDonalds and Huacatay Peruvian. --
This beautiful apartment is located in a central area of DC but is on a very quiet block in the Edgewood neighborhood. It is on a street lined with row homes. The apartment itself is spacious and is a true one bedroom. There is a lot of closet space with an iron, lint brush, washer/dryer and hangers waiting for your clothes!! Want to take a bath or shower? It's your choice in the brand new bathroom. Apartment has a small fridge, microwave, hair dryer, Roku tv and coffee pot. There's a table for you to eat or work on via the free wifi. Coffee, tea, and water are all complimentary as well!!!
My neighborhood is very quiet. It's mostly families and older couples. You wouldn't imagine you're so centrally located based on the feel of the area. Gallaudet, Trinity and Catholic Universities are all under 2 miles if you're visiting.

“Neighborhood Description: Eckington’s colorful rowhouses in a palette of pink, gray, yellow, green, slate and blue may be familiar to you: They appear in the time-lapse opening credit sequence of the Netflix series “House of Cards.” The neighborhood is characterized by two-level houses with porches and tiny front yards. A mix of Victorian-style houses with steeply pitched roofs, Federal structures with flat roofs and taller apartment buildings adds visual diversity.

The guest bedroom of my 2-bedroom home is perfect for the solo traveler: quiet residential area, on the metro Red Line, close to many city activities and a great access point for exploring DC’s museums, neighborhoods, dinning, cultural and night life. Things to keep in mind – the room is rather small and the walk to the metro is 15 min. I can't change location and size, so full disclosure there - if you don't like walking or want more space, you may like other Airbnbs better.
Hello, I am Rossen. Check my AirBnB profile description for a few words about myself. Here is a detailed description of my home that I share, and the guest bedroom that I rent out. THE SPACE AND THE ARRANGEMENT I live in a 2-bedroom apartment that I share with AirBnB guests through renting out my guest bedroom. So when you book it, you will be only sharing the living space with me as your host and not with any other guests or strangers. You will have your own private room, while we share the rest of the space – bathroom, kitchen, living room, deck, yard. For all my guests I provide clean sheets, towels, a visitors parking pass for free daily street parking in front of my building (in case you drive). I have a few simple house rules to be observed (please do check and observe those) and in return, I am very easy-going and flexible. Also to clarify, guests are sometimes confused by the name “AirBnB” and ask me if I provide breakfast, rides to/from the airport, and sightseeing tours around the city. AirBnB is a ‘bed and breakfast’ only in name and only virtually. I am simply able to provide friendly hosting, a nice place, a low price, all the coffee and tea in the house, and a lot of good suggestions to make your experience in Washington DC count. The rest is up to you and I could only help with ideas. THE ROOM My guest bedroom is small, but practically organized, clean and well-maintained space. It's pretty minimalist with a single real bed (that could expand into a double), a small window, a small closet, a small cabinet and a bookshelf. THE APARTMENT The place that I share is a modern 2-bedroom apartment on the second floor of a small 4-unit building. I have a separate Airbnb listing for the whole apartment, which I rarely rent out - usually when I travel. My guest bedroom is what’s most regularly rented. The apartment has one bathroom (that we share), a fully equipped modern kitchen, a large wooden deck with patio furniture and a propane grill, and a garden-style yard space. I keep the house clean, tidy and well-maintained, and it’s a no-shoes, no-smoking environment. A couple of other features include: - Wireless Internet - TV and cable - PS4 with a Netflix account and a DVD/Blu-Ray player - A laptop-to-TV video and sound connectors - A stereo with 2 ceiling and 2 stand-alone speakers - Washer and dryer in unit - Dishwasher - Central air - Jet tub (a-la jacuzzi) - A decent size fenced, garden-style yard on the side of the building (bikes can be locked on the iron fence) - A guest street parking pass and plenty of street parking available, including two not-zoned streets a block away. To all my reservations, I will email specific suggestions on places in DC that are a must-go for sightseeing, live music, shows, night life, dining & flavors, coffee, beer, wine, whisky and more.
The neighborhood I will describe with one word - strategic, and that's why I've chosen to live there. It’s very close to the geographical center of DC and within only a 1 -2 miles radius, you find the National Mall with Capitol Hill, all the museums and monuments, as well as DC’s hottest neighborhood for good food, coffee, and drinks, for bars and nightlife, theater and live music, and for all things bohemian: 14th str, U str, Shaw, Bloomingdale, H str. It’s also situated on DC most useful metro Red Line, and only one stop away (or even a walk) from Union Station – your central train and bus terminal. There are multiple bike trails cutting through the neighborhood, including the Metropolitan Branch Trail. While Eckington is a rather small, residential, and quite neighborhood, you are perfectly situated to explore the city by walking, metro, biking, or short and cheap Uber/Lyft rides. Street parking is also easily accessible – most of the local streets are one ways and not busy. AirBnB also publishes its own guide of DC neighborhoods (https://www.airbnb.com/locations/washington-dc/neighborhoods), but here is my short take (I will email you a lot more when you book) BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, LUNCH, AND DINING • Big Bear Café – one of DC's coolest coffee houses, with very crafty coffee, patio garden, ever changing eclectic and healthy food menu, and dinners with candle light (10-15 min walk). • Windows Café – easy neighborhood, deli type café (10-15 min walk). • Grassroots Gourmet – a family bakery that uses fine ingredients to bake from scratch. • Red Hen – incredible restaurant and one of DC’s famous, dedicated to quality natural food, natural wines from interesting regions, and a modern Italian-American fusion. Although it’s absolutely top-notch and upscale in terms of quality, execution and delivery, it’s casual in terms of ambience – strongly recommended (10-15 min walk). • The Pub & The People – that’s the neighborhood place that does it all, and does it all well – brunch, lunch, dinner, appetizers, salads, burgers, craft beer, cocktails. They have a patio too (10 min walk). • Indigo – one of the best Indian restaurants in the city, this one specializes in home cooking and has a nice patio (15-20 min walk). • Aroi Fine Thai and Japanese cuisine – traditional Thai food and Japanese sushi (10-15 min walk). • Bacio Pizzeria – great gourmet pizza and a beautiful patio outside (10-15 min walk). • El Camino – good Mexican cuisine (10-15 min walk). • Crisp Kitchen & Bar – southern, soul food inspired cooking and a good breakfast place (10-15 min walk). • Wicked Bloom – very good barbecue (10-15 min walk). • Uncle Chips – a funky little cookie shop, well known for it’s chocolate chip cookies, but they also have coffee and sandwiches (10-15 min walk). • Union Market – an old historic marketplace that has been recently renovated and is now one of the hippest spots in town, and a serious rival to Eastern Market. It has and artisan feel and offers an original mix of meats, cheese, produce, seafood, bakery, smokery, creamery, Korean BBQ tacos, empanadas, olive oil, gelato, coffee, cupcakes, fine wine and beers, flowers (15-20 min walk, mostly on the bike trail). • A Litteri – an authentic Italian grocer and deli with a mind-blowing selection of wine, meats, olive oil, cheese, and anything Italian. They make great sandwiches too. This one is a true gem (15-20 min walk). • Thai X-ing – probably the best and most famous Thai restaurant in the city, which is actually in the chef’s house and serves traditional home-style Thai recipes passed down from his family in an intimate home setting. Keep in mind that although it is not pretentious, reservations are a good idea, just because of the high traffic (25-30 min walk). • Fast bite options around the NoMA metro stop (15 min walk): - 5 Guys burgers - Roti Mediterranean Grill - MINT Indian Food Bar - Au Bon Pain - Potbelly - Starbucks - Dunkin Donuts • Fast bite options around the Rhode Island metro stop (15 min walk): -Chipotle -Carolina Kitchen -TKO Burger -Sala Thai -Bergami’s Pizza -Jersey Mike’s sub shop BARS • Boundary Stone Public House – a hip neighborhood bar (but also popular all across the city) that offers crafted beers, an amazing bourbon list, and good food (10-15 min walk). • Showtime - a cash only, casual neighborhood dive bar of locals with a free jukebox and even live music sometimes. • Dacha Beer Garden - a great small beer garden with superb beer and superb happy hour – it gets crowded. They also allow you to bring your own food, as well as your dog : ) PHARMACY AND GROCERIES • Harris Teeter – the nicest grocery store around in terms of food quality and organic choices. It also has a rich food bar and bakery with numerous of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices (15 min walk, it’s by the NoMa metro). • CVS – two pharmacies, one by the NoMA metro and one by the Rhode Island Ave Metro (both 15 min walk). • Sunday farmers market by Big Bear Café - – fruit, vegetables, pastries and backed things, pickled things and more (Spring, Summer and Fall only).. • McKinley Market – a small grocer/convenience store just around the corner. That’s where you go for cigarettes, tooth paste, toilet paper, Aspirin and all such necessities (less than 5 min walk). • Baks Family Enterprise/Food Rite Supermarket – a decent size neighborhood supermarket where you can find pretty much everything you need for cheap. It just hasn’t caught up with the organic/fancy food revolution yet – I am still a fan (10 mins walk). • Giant – a typical big American chain supermarket that offers everything and anything, generally cheaper than Harris Teeter. It also has a rich food bar and bakery with numerous of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices (15 min walk, it’s by the Rhode Island Ave metro). SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES There are multiple public sport facilities in the area, including indoor and outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, track, basketball courts, football and soccer fields, bike trails and city bike lanes, and the city’s only bike polo ground where pick-up games take place on Monday and Thursday night. • Yoga District – affordable yoga classes, all different styles and levels, (10 min walk). • Project Fitness Noma – gym, personal training, martial arts, boxing, boot camp, yoga, zumba (15-20 min walk). • Wired Cycling – indoor cycling studio and classes (5 min walk). • Harry Thomas Recreation Center – outdoor pool in the summer, gym, baseball field, tennis courts, basketball courts (10 mins walk). • McKinley Tech High School – football/soccer field and track (5 mins walk). • Trinity College - indoor Olympic pool (25 min walk) • Brentwood Park – bike polo, a new tough urban sport, if you dare (20 min walk). • Shaw Skate Park – if you skate, rollerblade, or BMX you will have a lot of fun at this urban concrete skate park. You can borrow my rusty skate too. ENTERTAINMENT In terms of entertainment, the H Street Corridor/Atlas District, Shaw, U street, and 14th street area are well known for dining, bars, night life, theater, and live shows. All of them are within 1.5 mile radius, a 5-10 min Uber/Lyft ride, or up to a 30 minute walk. SHOPPING • TJ Max (a discount store for anything from clothing, through shoes, perfumes and accessories, to sports goods and household items) – it’s a 15 minute walk from my house, Google it.

Our happy basement studio apartment is a thoughtfully furnished space in a great location, just an 8 minute walk from the NOMA metro (and 1 mile north of Union Station). There are several distinct spaces (bed, dining, workspace, lounging, kitchenette, and bathroom) that flow in and out of each other, making it a functional and comfortable space during your stay in Washington DC.
THE BED is the place you will want to rest your head, with a brand new Tuft and Needle queen mattress, a mix of pillow types, cheerful duvet cover, and crisp white sheets. THE KITCHENETTE: We want to ensure that you have everything that you need in the morning and throughout your stay. We stock our happy yellow kitchenette with a variety of coffee and teas, giving you an option of using a french press or Keurig (with compostable pods). There is an electric kettle for tea, french press, or other needs. There is a small fridge with separate freezer, microwave, and toaster oven (please note that there is no stove or oven for cooking). Unfortunately, there is no running water in the kitchenette itself, but access to two sinks with drinkable water and we provide gallons of water, if you prefer to use that. LOUNGING: There is a surprisingly spacious area for lounging with a delightful blue love-seat, and colorful ottoman. The bookshelf behind the love-seat provides boardgames, books, and magazines for your use. The television has full cable, and for sports fans you can watch all of your games. It's also on a moving mount so you can watch TV from anywhere in the room - bed, couch, table. THE DESK: If you are looking for a work space, we have just the things for you, with Wifi and a foldable desk and comfortable chair, you are able to look into the garden from the desk. If you do not need a desk, it neatly folds into the wall and does not take up space in the room. DINING: A small tucked in table is big enough for two people share a meal, but not so big that it protrudes unnecessarily into the room. BATHROOM: The bathroom is small but provides enough space to get ready comfortably in the morning. It has a nicely tiled standing shower, and vanity with counter space and drawers. Fluffy white towels of varying sizes are provided, along with bathroom essentials (we've tried to think of everything that you may have forgotten).
We love our neighborhood. It's a residential neighborhood with a couple local bars, and a beer garden. We also love our local coffee shop, Big Bear Cafe, which has outdoor seating that lets you forget that you're in DC sitting under grape vines. In addition to being a lovely neighborhood in itself, we are about 1 mile walk from several of the hippest neighborhoods in town.

Welcome to our home! We are in Edgewood, in DC, about 2 miles from the Capitol, and near the Metro and buses. We're in a quiet neighborhood nestled between Catholic University, and walking distance to trendy Bloomingdale and two farmers markets.
This is a great, sunny bedroom in a nice, colorful house. Compared to other locations in DC, this house real feels like a home, and you will feel welcomed and likely very happy here. ***Please note that there is a different rate if you are more than one traveler. There is one queen sized bed, which is fine for two people if you are a couple. You will share the bathroom with us.
This is a nice, friendly neighborhood, with easy access to all of DC hot spots. We are close, by public transportation to the Capitol, the Library of Congress, Chinatown, and the museums. We are within walking distance to Big Bear, one of the city's coolest cafés, and Red Hen, a great restaurant in historic Bloomingdale. We are walking distance to the National Basilica, and the great restaurants and artists' spaces there.
