Together we can make our own traditional soaps, using the recipe that my grandmother taught me, as she also learned from her mother. With my knowledge as a biochemist, we can try to develop these recipes to produce a better product, based on your needs! We will start from scratch, giving to our soap the features we will choose together, such as perfume, color or shape. The olive oil we will use is collected and prepared by me and my family without any use of insecticides and other chemical preparations! Naturally, at the end you will take the soap - you will have made with your own hands - that will be ready the next day, as a souvenir to remember this unique experience as you take your shower!!! In addition, you can take the formulation where every step is recorded all the way, if you wish to make your own soap at your place.! The whole procedure is completely safe even for young children and no specific knowledge is required on the subject. On the contrary, you will find it particularly educative and interesting!

You and a group of friends will learn about the ancient technique of jewellery making through sand casting while enjoying the tastes of an award-winning Cretan boutique winery. Found nowhere else in Greece, this workshop is a hands-on experience for up to a maximum of 10 attendees including yourself. You will be taught the ancient art of sand casting and with your choice of silver (.925) or gold (10k, 14k, 18k) you will cast and polish a beautiful piece of jewellery to keep. This workshop will take place at the picturesque Manousakis winery, located just outside of Chania city. Here you will be surrounded by Cretan nature and indulge in the fine crafted wines and winery grown foods. The entire experience will take.place outside in a well ventilated area. All Covid-19 safety precautions will be in place to make sure all guests are comfortable and safe. Included in the booking fee is your 4-5 hours of instructed workshop time. All of the tools needed for casting and polishing. Finally, you will be given organic wine produced on site and fresh locally grown snacks on our break. We offer cooking lessons in Krousonas village. Super family friendly! The programme last at least 4 hours. Firstly we will welcome you with some cretan delights and refreshments . We will discuss the menu and you can choose from the season options(vegan or not) what would you like to cook. Secondly we will visit the farm , we will feed the goats and sheeps and if its summer probably you can also milk the goats! In continue when you choose menu (vegan or not) we go to gather our organic vegetables from our orchard, you wiil have time to explore nature, breath fresh air, learn important information about the plant and of course live the experience cutting the fresh vegetables and fruit. When we collect our vegetables , we learn how we use every ingredient in our kitchen, how does it help our health, about the appropriate quantities we use and we start to how prepare our meal and how we cook. You will learn all the secrets of cretan cuisine with us . (It depends from the season you can also taste and watch the production of cheese.) Since I am Cretan and having lived most of my life in Crete, I know everything about Greek culture, Cretan traditions and interesting facts and beliefs about Crete. You will be surprised about the facts and myths that surround this wonderful island. Of course, I will show you what locals like and where they go when they go out. As you can see by looking at my social media accounts, I am a professional photographer and I want to immortalize your memories of Heraklion. So, I will take you to picturesque (and of course instagrmable) locations and capture beautiful photos of you. Of course, we will be able to organize a professional couple photoshoot or even plan your wedding proposal and have a photographer there to shoot it. Visitors will have the chance to taste the unique flavor of Cretan Extra virgin olive oil and learn about the techniques Cretan use for thousand of years to produce it in the beautiful village of Skalani just outside of Heraklion. Visitors will be having a tour led by greek olive oil experts. They will visit a modern olive mill and witness how olive oil is produced, followed by a tour of our private olive grove and an olive oil tasting course accompanied by greek delicacies. Shepherding is inseparable to the Cretan cultural identity. The vast mountains of the island have long been protecting and providing the Cretan populace. This is why, contrary to what most people would expect from island people, Cretans are far more connected to the mountains than the sea. We will share this connection hiking through the Cretan mountains and crossing 11 gates that separate different pastures. We will follow the paths that generations of Cretan shepherd's feet have made through the flora. We will admire the wild beauty of Cretan mountains and discover the many ways local people depend on them. To gather our strength I will find us the perfect spot to enjoy a typical shepherd's light meal along with homemade raki, just as it is done for generations. On our way we are going to visit an old church built-almost curved in the rock of the mountains to connect with the spirituality of the scenery. After we conclude our trekking we will make our way to the car to drive to a small "cafeneio"(Greek version of tapas restaurant) where we will be served by Madame Irini a traditional meal over which we will discuss about Cretan culture, nature and share our experiences.

Why not take advantage of the proximity and visit the south coast? This part of the island is called the Wild Crete or "the other Crete", beyond the mountains, far from the hotels and summer crowds...After 45 minutes drive from Rethymno we will arrive at Plakias and explore this beautiful region, starting with a short hike of about two hours and a half. We will discover an exceptional part of the south coast of the island, by going around the Plakias peninsula while overlooking to the Libyan Sea. Even in August we will be away from the crowds... and hike this beautiful part of the island pretty much alone. 2nd stop Olive groves, rock formations, cliffs and fantastic views are waiting for you on this flexible day, where swimming can take place wherever you like, on beautiful beaches with very few people, as you walk along on the side. Time to stretch your body and enjoy swimming at the splendid crystal clear deep blue waters of South Crete! What is best than enjoying an isolated beach all by yourself? 3rd stop Of course, lunch is planned in a small tavern with the most gorgeous sea view in the region, in order to enjoy a genuine meal just like the Cretans do. Fresh fish on the grill with refreshing dry wine, made by local grape varieties, and the waves under your feet... it doesn't get more relaxing than this. After lunch we will start our way back to Rethymno.

The place we will visit is an adults playground... We will enter the river using a hidden path which will lead us straight to the most beautiful part of it.. And the fun begins...We will walk through the river, sometimes swim, take pictures, laugh and live it with our hearts.. Somewhere in the middle we will have a snack-drink and continue the fun. Our destination is one of the most beautifull beaches in Crete where the river crosses the palm forest of Preveli ending up to the sea.. Time for relaxation, sunbath and swimming at the south part of Crete.. A small cafe-tavern is also there for food and refreshing drinks.. On our way back we will follow a different path on the other side of the river, so we won't miss anything.. You are welcome to enjoy this unforgetable experience! The path in the gorge begins just below the village of Imbros and the path to the entrance to the gorge is clearly marked. Inside, the trail descends gently down the gorge towards the south. It is never steep and not particularly difficult, but like everywhere in Crete, the path is stony, so we have to be careful where we put your feet. As we continue inside the gorge, we can notice that it is small in height as well as in length, so we are always right next to the slopes and cliffs and we have a much better opportunity to observe the unique plants and flowers nearby. Thankfully, since the gorge is quite narrow and there are a lot of trees, we will be accompanied by shade most of the time! The flora of the gorge is rich and it is surprising that between so many rocks where there is no soil, various trees grow; in particular lianas, rare herbs and all kinds of herbs. After about 90 minutes of walking from the entrance to the gorge, we will pass an impressive stone arch on the right; this marks almost the end of the hike and, if we’re feeling exhausted, we can stop here and return to our starting point to have lunch. If we continue, we’ll observe that the gorge widens a bit and after about 15 minutes we will arrive back on the road and at the village Komitades, where we will find many taverns with traditional Cretan flavors, in order to enjoy lunch and relax after this hike.

The possibilities for walking and discovering outside of Rethymnon are numerous and at the same time so close! For this hike accompanied by a English-speaking guide, a short trip of 20-30 minutes outside Rethymnon is sufficient to reach the surroundings of the village of Maroulas and find yourself in the middle of nature. The village itself is well known for its ancient Venetian houses (a number of them have been renovated by lovers of old stones!) Indeed, the Italian bourgeoisie often had secondary houses built on the heights of Rethymno; important trade point during the Venetian occupation. Note that it is possible for us, before or after the hike, to discover the village if you feel like it. The hike itself begins after passing the village when we find ourselves surrounded by nature, far from the crowded places and with breathtaking views of the region; Rethymnon Bay to the north, the White Mountains to the west or Psiloritis to the south. We take the shepherds' paths but also part of the E4, the European hiking trail. During this loop of approximately 11 km, we cross several valleys which will sometimes allow us to have very clear views in height, sometimes to find ourselves in the middle of wild vegetation or vines. From experience, the only crossed living beings are either sheep or goats, or their shepherds because we are on their working land!
