Cape Meares Oregon Coast experience with author Adam Sawyer

Take a 90-minute adventure through history, nature, and breathtaking coastal views through Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint. This beginner-friendly hike is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone eager to explore the beauty of the Oregon Coast. • We'll meet at the main parking area and start with a scenic 0.5-mile loop to the historic Cape Meares Lighthouse, taking in panoramic viewpoints and enjoying only the occasional dad joke. • We'll visit the legendary Octopus Tree and then hike into the ancient forest beyond it. Learn about the unique plants and wildlife of Oregon’s coastal old-growth forests and pause at a picturesque creek crossing, where I’ll highlight the striking differences between secondary and ancient forests. • Take a short drive to a park entrance trail that leads to the biggest Sitka spruce in Oregon. I’ll answer any remaining questions, and then we’ll wave, fist bump, shake hands, or hug, and bid each other fond farewells. And maybe, just maybe, part as new lifelong friends. Maybe. You’ll leave having experienced the magic of Oregon’s coastal wilderness, with my recommendations for more food, drink, and other must-see spots along the coast. Note: Be sure to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. There will be a total of just under two miles of hiking/walking.

Forage for edible plants next to Latourell Falls

Latourell Falls, located in the Columbia Gorge, is a wonderful place to learn about the landscape and plants of the Pacific Northwest. Join a wilderness educator and forager as we visit this dramatic waterfall, sampling wild edible plants along the route. • We’ll meet at Guy W. Talbot State Park and then walk up the trail to Latourell Falls, which was formed by ancient volcanic activity. • As we move up the canyon, I’ll share stories about the history and ecology of the area and point out native edible plants. • We’ll explore both the base and the top of the falls, taking in the stunning views over the gorge. You’ll leave with a greater appreciation of the Pacific Northwest and a newfound knowledge of Oregon’s native plants. Note: Please make sure you are dressed appropriately for the weather and have sturdy shoes.

We will pet and feed all the animals till your heart content! All animal feeds are provided here and included. This unique experience teaches about caring for the farm animals with lots of holding and petting. Wear proper shoes and old clothing, be prepared to get dirty! This is an outdoor experience, rain or shine!! Please leave your pet at home or in the car. We do host private parties and event, book a private event, check weather!

Multnomah Zen: caminata panorámica por cuatro cascadas

Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.

First, we will decide on the day's hike based on your hiking experience and what you'd like to see (mountains, waterfalls, lakes, etc). After we pick our destination, we will drive to the trail where we'll stretch to ensure we don't pull a muscle and then get right into it. Make sure to bring snacks and a camera (optional) for the hike! I will also have a camera to capture photos and videos of our experience together that I will send to you at the conclusion of the trip! La finca Tiny Hearts

PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION before booking to make sure this is the experience for you and you are prepared. When you get here we will immediately go into the goat, mini horse, mini donkey, mini cow and pig pasture and love on them. We can also feed the Alpacas and Chickens if they are hungry. While visiting I will be actively working in the fields, but am always ready to answer question you may have. Because I am an animal sanctuary I take in all animals. Most are super loving, but some require special instruction to interact with. The cow can be pushy and potentially knock kids over. They will secured to prevent this. Parents please help kids follow the rules so everyone remains safe. Please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind a dirty on, especially in the rainy season. Tall waterproof Boot are VERY recommended. There is thick mud to walk through in the wet month. This is a true animal farm. Poop, mud, and dirt are apart of it. We do birthday parties and other private events in the fair weather months. Our day trip will take you on a special journey; we’re going to have fun, eat well, walk in the wild, and show you our favorite parts of the National Park. We keep our groups small; you may join a few other explorers (we limit our trips at ten guests) from all over the world. We’ll pick you up from your downtown Seattle hotel or meet you at the Sheraton Grand, then we head for the mountain! We’ll stop along the way to stretch our legs and have a little snack with coffee and tea. In the National Park we’ll see giant old growth trees, icy waterfalls, and watch for elk, bears and birds. We’ll ditch the van to explore several mellow trails and share secrets of the volcano’s diverse ecosystems and wonder at some of the most pristine and stunning wilderness in the world. Lunch is served with a view in the beautiful park. We’ll cater length and level of activity to the desires of the group. At the end of the day we’ll return you to your place in downtown Seattle! Other things to note: - We offer this tour year round! From May-October this tour is available 7 days/week. From November-April, this tour is available on Saturdays & Sundays. Note we are updating our listing for 2025. Pardon our dust as photos update! We'll journey from downtown Seattle to Sunrise Visitor's Center on the North side of Mount Rainier. From there we'll put on our hiking shoes and tackle the Burroughs Mountain Trail - the prettiest trail on Mount Rainier with the epic views of the mountain. Burroughs Mountain has been described as a mountain against a mountain. At over 7800 feet, Burroughs Mountain sits right up against the northeastern face of Mount Rainier, hugging the Winthrop Glacier. It offers one of the most dramatic views of Washington's largest volcano. The hike is moderate to challenging with options to turn around at 4 and 6 miles making this the perfect option for those that want to push beyond the crowds but question their own limitations and abilities. This is YOUR hike, and we'll push as far as you are comfortable. But trust me, the views are worth it. There is no technical climbing and those in moderate to fit condition will find this hike to be both challenging and rewarding. We keep our group size small (no more than five plus guide). This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (also a few inclines for 7 minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls which we drive right up to. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.4 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

Our tour will take us through mossy forests and fern beds, across a suspension bridge, floating a hundred and sixty feet above Lynn Canyon with stunning views of waterfalls and alongside the river to hidden pools that offer the perfect place for a snack of Salmon and Cedar tea. We begin our journey on the world-renowned Baden Powell Trail, as we follow its winding path through a forest of towering trees Lynn Creek appears alongside us. This trail will deliver us to the Suspension Bridge giving us the chance to gaze into the canyon below taking in the impressive waterfalls from a bird's eye view. The east side of the creek sits above the canyon in a more mature forest and delivers us to Twin Falls a smaller double waterfall. After a short climb, we return to the Suspension Bridge en route to a river beach to sample some Cedar tea and nibble on candied salmon. Our journey is approximately 5km in length and includes steep sections with three thoughtfully designed staircases to make your ascent smooth. We walk a beautiful figure 8 loop helping us to capture the magic of the canyon while seeing new terrain throughout. Sunset tours include a better chance of wildlife sightings such as Bears or Owls. Headlamps are provided. Other things to note Please note that this is a non-smoking tour. This is due to fire risk in the canyon. Dogs are welcome on this tour! Leash required.

Do you want to support an animal experience that prioritizes animal welfare? Look no further. Heartwood Haven is a true sanctuary to animals rescued from the worst possible circumstances who now get to live wonderful lives in a natural setting with huge environments. During the tour, you meet and interact with pigs, cows, turkeys, ducks, geese and an occasional cat. It’s a very hands on up close and personal experience like nothing you have experienced before. During the tour you will learn about how the sanctuary started and the huge impact our work continues to make. You also will hear about some of the rescue stories. And you will learn about the intelligence, emotional lives, and experiences of the rescued animals. After the tour you will look at farmed animals in a whole new light. The sanctuary is home to 80-200 animals including: 4 cows, 60 pigs of all sizes as well as a variety of birds. You will meet pigs ranging in size from 100 to 1000lbs, piglets, naked pigs, furry pigs, pigs who love belly rubs and snout kisses. The experience is outdoors, boots or waterproof shoes are recommended. Dress appropriately for the weather including layering if it’s cold, rain jackets if it’s raining, and don’t forget sunscreen and a hat on a sunny day. Great for groups and great for team-building.

We keep our groups small (10 or fewer), so you may join other explorers from all over the world. We’ll pick you up from a downtown Seattle hotel before departing for the park. You may take a ride on the Washington ferry system or enjoy a stop at a wildlife refuge enroute because the journey is part of the adventure! In the National Park, we’ll see giant old growth trees, azure lakes and waterfalls, and watch for bears, birds and marmots. We’ll ditch the van to stroll through several terrains - from moss-draped forest floors surrounding Lake Quinault or Lake Crescent, the soft rolling sands of the mouth of the Elwha River, or the rocky shores of the Olympic Peninsula. We’ll cater activity levels to our guests and every tour day is unique depending on the weather, season, and interests of the group!
