Your blacksmithing adventure will include three hours of hands on instruction as you create your very own masterpiece. Your experience will start with a brief orientation to The Forge at Quiver Full Farm. During this orientation time we will make sure each participant is dressed and prepared with all necessary equipment to have a SAFE forging experience. We will be working with equipment that reach temperatures greater than 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. This experience requires participants to be attentive and be able to physically exert themselves. We will have all participants sign a safety liability waiver before starting. If you are under 18 years of age you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate. Jeremy will introduce you to all of the equipment that you will be using while creating your forged piece. He will give detailed and guided instruction on how to use these tools. From there you will choose one of several projects to create. Jeremy will be there to guide you, assist you, and maintain a safe working environment while you create your masterpiece. Using real sterling silver, tiny saws, hammers, and fire, you'll create your very own ring. I'll teach you how to measure, cut, solder, bend, file, and polish your custom creation. You can also texturize or letter stamp it to make it truly one of a kind. You'll leave wearing your new ring with a sense of great accomplishment and the perfect souvenir. Other things to note: This experience runs between 2.5-3.5 hours long depending on your design choices and work ethic. Average class time is 3 hours. Safety is important in the studio! To many, the Hasidic world is shrouded in mystery and secrecy—well, not anymore. On this experience you get to see first hand the daily lives, rituals and customs of the Hasidic community, guided by a member of the community. Being able to access places seemingly closed off and hidden to the outsider. An opportunity to be able to ask any and all questions about the Jewish faith, culture and philosophy. We kick off the experience inside a Hasidic home, and learning about what it takes to keep a Kosher home. Then its off to the streets of Crown Heights, starting with exploring the world famous “770” Synagogue, getting a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of daily prayer services. Next stop is a Jewish scribe, seeing up close the intricate details involved in producing the Torah Scrolls. Followed by a walk down the avenue, visiting the local shops, and seeing the traditions dating back to the early 1800’s. The experience continues rain, snow or shine (just come prepared).

In this beginner Silversmithing class, you will pick out your own stone and create the setting and shank. We'll get familiar with the torch, jeweler's saw, flex shaft drill, anvil & bench pin. We'll solder the bezel, cut out the setting and file it flat. Then we create your ring shank according to your own size and add them together. We'll finish your ring by setting the stone and polishing the piece. All finished work is sterling silver and you get to go home with a brand new ring. Patience is required. No experience necessary. *Other things to note* Please dress for the occasion! We'll be sawing metal and using messy materials. Don't wear anything dangly and please have closed toe shoes on. This activity is hands on and messy! Also to note: long fingernails could make this a little harder, but doable! *there are good dogs on site.* **PLEASE NOTE: I don't have the space for more than two people at a time for this experience, this is my home studio and it's pretty small. I’m going to teach you all the knowledge that my family (especially my grandmother) passed down to me since I was very little. We are going to start off with touching and knowing the right ingredients (imported from Italy), and then get ready to get your hands really dirty! We are going to prepare two kinds of pasta: tortelli filled with fresh local ricotta and spinach, and tagliatelle. While mixing with your hands, we cheers with unlimited wine to good food and good company! While we are waiting for the pasta dough to rest we will enjoy a real Italian aperitivo with a charcuterie board. Salute! This experience can be vegetarian friendly. This class can’t be suitable for Gluten Free or Vegan. To finish off the evening we are going to dine with your just made fresh pasta. This unique three-part, 3 hours walking tour will begin where Manhattan began - at the National Museum of the American Indian. Each part of the tour will last approximately 1 hour. This first leg of the tour will start in Lower Manhattan. Specifically, Bowling Green, where the first enslaved Africans started building the infrastructure of the city, and end at Wall St. where the enslaved Africans were brought and sold. The second leg of the tour will start in the Financial District. We will walk up Wall St to Federal Hall - a site next to a famous free African who owned and operated a famous Oyster House in 1825. The last leg will start around the Brooklyn Bridge, including the African Burial Ground National Monument plaza. This tour is great for groups, team-building, and field trips, and it's especially beneficial for school-age children. Depending on the mood and convenience of the group, we can stop for snacks at any time. Each location is based on a specific chapter in my book. There will be several restroom breaks. Please note that finding parking is extremely difficult in Lower Manhattan. Indoor garages will cost between $35-40. I advise using public transportation or car service.

These popular vessels are the black, inflatable boats you find on expedition ships around the world. They're also the boats we operate as photographers and guides in Antarctica and the Canadian sub-arctic. So what will we see? It is common to see numerous seals, osprey, great blue herons, various sea birds, mink, and deer as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora and geology as we cruise the area. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia! There are two things we cannot control; wildlife and weather. That said, we keep a close eye on marine weather forecasts and if we have any safety concerns, we will reach out asap. We operate rain or shine so please be prepared to get at least a little wet. Welcome to our Alpaca Farm! Upon arrival, you will be met by some of our Alpacas. Though they may be some distance away grazing in their rolling mountain pasture or relaxing in one of the barns, they will certainly acknowledge your presence with a curious stare. We start your experience with a short walk to a nearby pasture to observe and learn about the alpacas and our farms story. Standing by the fence, we will introduce you to the alpacas, discuss farm safety and answer any questions. Usually the alpacas are interested in what we are talking about and will generally come up to join in the conversation. As your experience winds down we invite you to the “Farm Store” for all things alpaca. In the store, we explain how their fiber is converted from raw fiber to luxurious clothing. We would never give you a map - this would ruin the surprise of finding a secret door but you will have a Q & A with one of our docents before you start your journey. It’s not in the finding, it’s in the seeking that is important. Experience the magic! Your self-guided experience will begin with an in-depth video introduction to our history and our secret doors, as well as what to look for as you go. Then, we will send you off on your own to search for the secrets and treasures that are everywhere to be found. As you explore the mansion, which is steeped in history and intrigue, you'll be walking in the footsteps of presidents, freedom fighters, G-Men, historians, famous musicians, and fiction writers. Built 125 years ago, nearly every President since Teddy Roosevelt has visited. Things to note We guarantee you can see at least 60 of our legendary rooms — but be warned secret doors are tricky to find —if you find 2 or 3 you are an above average sleuth All ages can attend. Between myself and my team (including tour guides June, Melissa, Helena, Alison, Bailey and Laura) we have over 35 years of goat experience. Guests will get a walking tour the goat farm, home to 60 goats. We will begin the tour by giving loads of information about goat care and dairy farming. Guests will have the option to play and interact with goats. You’ll definitely want to wear shoes that can stand getting dirty for this part. We will finish the tour with an elaborate tasting of the 9 fresh cheese varieties we make weekly on the farm.
