Great place for a retreat! The hot spring in the bathroom is fantastic. A great place for those planning for a multi-day hike along the Oirase river.

Great place and the hallway provided extra space for all our stuff. Very cozy and the perk of the sauna was very nice. Loved that it had a dryer

We loved Yuka's beautiful home! It was a highlight of our trip. And Yuka bent over backwards for us to use her kotatsu even though it was put away for the summer and we are all so grateful for that!! It was the perfect way to end our day and start our morning when it was still a little cold out. Her home is the perfect blend of a traditional Japanese home with a mixture of modern features for our comfort. None of us had any complaints! We walked from the shin-Aomori station and it was a peaceful, 15-20 minute walk alongside the pond and quiet neighborhood. And the shin-Aomori station is a convenient station - we even decided to do an afternoon trip up to Hokkaido and it was dreamy. We would highly recommend this place!

the house is lovely, clean and peaceful. located within walk distance from the JR station. two spacious bedrooms with futons on the tatami inside is enough for the family. Only 2 concerns from us. First only toilet on the 1st floor which might be inconvenient at night as you need to step from stair to get there. Second the house has a limitation of electricity usage, when using 2 heaters together during winter night (-5c), it will cause a power outage even it turn back to normal automatically within 5-10 seconds but you cant use 2 heaters together during winter. this is something to be aware of if you're staying during the winter of Aomori. Other else about this house was excellent.

Great place to stay for your vacation, feeling relaxed

My gratitude to Kumiko and Kim for having hosted us in their lovely home. We were overwhelmed by their hospitality so much, that Kim personally picked us from the nearby station and dropped us this was never expected as Air BnB host. Kumiko is a marvelous music teacher and sweet human being. They both appreciated the Indian classical music While we were stuck at home due to bad weather, Kumiko made our day by showing us and accompanied to the wonderful places of Kabushima and coastal area. You made our stay memorable.

Our stay at Cottage Hideaway was wonderful! We were able to find the location easily, and Aki met us and helped us check in easily. The cabin was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We were plenty warm even during snow storms with a combination of electric split systems, kerosene heaters, and a cozy fire place. The property was beautiful and huge! Our kids spent most of their time playing outside in the snow. Aki was great to work with. He was very proactive in providing recommendations for restaurants and ski resorts, checking on our needs, and even plowing the snow off the driveway every morning. We will remember our time in Aomori fondly.

This was an amazing place right by Hirosaki Castle. Located a short walking distance from the restaurant center. Will book again!
