37B&B - Santa Teresa

Living with Isa & Paolo is an experience! An experience every newcomer to Rio must have. Well before leaving for Rio, I had the feeling that coming to their place was a good decision (primarily based on the comments on their listing). And I was right; spending just two nights in their lovely home was the best start to our Brazilian holiday! In spite of having no formal background whatsoever in hospitality, Isa & Paolo are just amazing hosts: warm, thoughtful and extremely helpful (we not only got a detailed email on directions, but Paolo also sat with me to make a detailed plan for our day out to Centro). Yes, the house is exactly what it looks like in the pictures. And yes the breakfast is superb (don't miss the coffee!). But I would go back there for the warmth. Traveller tip: Assuming he's available, insist that Paolo joins you for breakfast. :) Thank you Isa & Paolo .. hope to come back someday soon!

Meu marido e eu estivemos 3 dias no Rio e ficamos hospedados na casa do Isa e do Paolo situada num bairro cheio de charme, super-seguro, com ambiente nocturno e diurno, perto da estaçao do metro, com autocarros de diferentes linhas a todas as horas e sobretudo com muita animaçao. A casa é bonita, decorada com estilo e modernidade, a cama óptima, o duche forte e revigorante. O pequeno-almoço generoso e farto, entao o bolo de chocolate da Zezé...um must! Foi um grande prazer e uma grande experiência partilhar casa com este casal encantador!

My stay with Isa and Paolo was my first time using Airbnb, and it was a positive experience. The quality of the accommodation was good, and the hosts were very friendly and hospitable. The house is located in the residential part of Santa Teresa, which was a change for me after staying for two days at Copacabana. It's of walking distance to the restaurants and cafes within the district, and is close to other interesting areas like Lapa, Praca XV and some museums. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and with the house located on top of a slope, it was also a peaceful environment. There's wifi and breakfast is good. There's also a very likeable dog. I had some interesting chats (and even a dinner outside) with Isa and Paolo about Brazilian life and society, and they were also genuinely interested in learning about other cultures, all the while sensitive about leaving the guest time for himself to get out to do sightseeing. Paolo was especially helpful in making recommendations for food and places of interest, and even helped me look up transportation details for my next destination on the internet. I'd highly recommend staying with them!

Isabel and Paolo are very nice hosts! Very friendly, very helpful, very hospitable. The room was excellent, we really enjoyed the cosiness. Every morning we waited for a delicious breakfast. It was a lovely experience of our stay in Rio de Janeiro!

Magnifica atención personal y trato estupendo. Nos aconsejaron en todo momento los lugares a visitar y el mejor modo de desplazarse/horario. encantadores

Die Betreuung durch die Gastgeber war sehr gut. Paolo holte uns vom Flughafen in Santos Dumont ab. Dies klappte ohne Probleme,obwohl wir mit einem späteren Flug ankamen. Die Unterkunft war einfach und sauber. Excellent war das brasilanische Frühstück mit Kaffee und vor allem einheimischen Früchten, das Paolo zubereitete. Paolo stand auch für alle Fragen und Informationen sachkundig und immer aufgeschlossen zur Verfügung. Die Lage ist zentral, die Metro in Gloria in 5 Minuten zu erreichen. Von dort aus gibt es gute Anbindungen zum Zentrum und an die Strände nach Copacabana und Ipanema. Etwas beschwerlich ist die Rückkehr über eine ca. 140 stufige Treppe, die eine gute Kondition erfordert.

Miguel y yo estuvimos cinco días hospedados por Isa y Paolo, siempre nos sentimos muy a gusto con ellos. El barrio es super tranquilo, lindas callecitas por donde pasear. Desde el atardecer ya se podía escuchar una música suave que inundaba el aire. La habitacion era muy confortable y del desayuno solo podemos decir que era fabuloso!!! todas esas frutas deliciosas y el café con un toque italiano....muy rico. Podíamos llegar tranquilamente a pie para tomar el omnibus o el metro que nos llevaba a los principales puntos turísticos. Gracias Isa y Paolo por el tiempo que nos brindaron.

My friend and I stayed with Isa and Paolo and were so happy we did! They were fantastic hosts, introduced us to some locals, and gave us tips on where to go. Staying with them definetely added to our experience in Rio and I would highly recommend it to everyone, they are amazing!

Paolo and Isa are the best hosts you can ever find! Warm, knowledgeable, hospitable couple that are very considerate with their guests needs, space and time. You will enjoy interesting conversations, wonderful breakfast and a safe nice room. If you need transportation, they will put you in touch with a great taxi driver Carlos. This is the best possible location if you want to experience the many aspects of Rio de Janeiro. Isa and Paolo are situated perfectly within. A five minute walk to the eclectic areas of Lapa,Gloria and Santa Theresa which are serviced with excellent public transport facilities to all the sights which Rio offers. They are friendly and very knowledgable on all aspects of Rio and Brazilian culture. If you want to be bored and spend your life savings,by all means stay at Copacabana during carnival,but if you want a real Brazilian experience with charming people stay at Isa and Paolo!

Eu e minha noiva fomos ao RJ para o Rock in Rio e ficamos no 37B&B, perto de ônibus, metrô e, taxis, a toda hora que precisar. O lugar foi tão bom que voltamos uma semana depois. O café da manhã é incrível, o quarto e banheiro são privativos, em uma casa sossegada e tranquila. Em outras palavars: PERFEITO. Me and my fioncé were in Rio de Janeiro for Rock in Rio 2011 and we stayed at the 37 B&B - Isa&Paolo, near for the bus station, subway, cabs anytime you need. The place was so nice that we came back in a few days ago. The breakfast is awesome, the bad and the WC are private, in a quitely house. In other way to say: PERFECT.

Isa & Paolo are very nice hosts. The breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh fruits, homemade yogurt, freshly squeezed juices and so on. Extremely helpful, everything you could ask, at any time day or night. Interesting area, in the middle of the action, especially if you love the nightlife. Nice, clean room. Metro is very close. I would love to meet up with Isa and Paolo.

We were lucky to find this place. Stayed in this lovely house for a carnival period in March 2011 and had an amazing experience! The place and the owners are wonderful! The room is nice and clean, with an avocados hanging in the windows, the breakfast is better than restaurant's one plus the location is close to the metro. Places like this are very hard to find, so don't hesitate.
