Peaceful Central Garden Apartment

Wow! Melinda is a treasure. She is an extremely accommodating and generous host! She picked us up in the rain, and offered to take us where we needed to go. She had some great suggestions and recommendations about the area and our future travels in Mexico. Moreover, she was extremely flexible, as our travel plans changed during our stay with her. The place is very beautiful and has a great air about it, not to mention it's location is prime for when you want to give in to the Playa del Carmen hubbub.

Etant donné que l'endroit était en dehors des resorts, ou de la zone touristiques, on croyait être plus insécures, mais dans aucun cas on s'est senti de la sorte, aucune crainte pour 2 femmes dans ce secteur. L'espace, la beauté des lieux était excellent, le port des bouchons est indispensable. Les petites fourmis, ne m'ont pas plus dérangés que ça, moi qui n'endure rien de la sorte chez moi. Une température plus que chaude et humide me faisait apprécié grandement le ventilateur près du lit. Bref, heureux séjour chez Melinda! L'eau en gros gallon est incluse, lui demander s'il en manque.

This apartment will enrich and brighten your Playa experience! We loved it!! It is a beautiful, quaint alternative to a touristy, expensive hotel. The apartment is a five to ten minute walk from the downtown craziness of 5th Avenue and the beach. Located in a neighborhood where you feel like you are in real Mexico, we bought our our groceries at the local market and cooked our own food in the sweet, little kitchen. Melinda was a warm and inviting host, making the experience all around perfectly lovely.

Clean, cozy and nice apartment. Felt like at home :) We even had a cat comming from somewhere, which was really cute as we are cat persons :) Spent 2 weeks and almost every morning had breakfast in the balcony. Safe neighbourhoud - we walked there everyday, evening and sometimes late at night - no-one of the locals said anything just smiled to us :) felt really safe. Regarding noices at first we were a little distracted by all those birds and a rooster starting singing early in the morning, but after few nights got used to it :)

Melinda was a kind and gracious host. She made me feel very at home, took interest in my visit, and helped me many times along the way. The studio apartment is private, and the garden setting and close proximity to town are big pluses. The neighborhood is away from traffic noise, but has its share of barking dogs and a nearby rooster that gets up in a different time zone. All in all, a fine experience.

We fell in love with the place from the photos and then feared the reality might be less so. Unfounded were those fears. The place is better than the photos. A perfect place to stay in Playa. Handy shops, grocery store, banks and a brief stroll to the beach. A place to park your car if you have one and easy access to the main highway. Melinda is so helpful and low key. We felt so much at home instantly. I would suggest earplugs if you are a late riser as dogs and roosters can start early. That is a minor issue in comparison to the positives of this superb apartment.

Everything you need in one package! Melinda's 2 level, vaulted ceiling apartment w/ complete privacy and large patio was perfect. We stayed our first night and final two night of a 10 day trip with the miidle 6 nights camping on the beach in Mahuhual, Laguna Bacalar & Tulum. It was great to come back to the oasis after camping! Get away from all the tourists, and the chaos of 5th Ave while really only being moments away. UPDATE: The water tank issue has been resolved! Although we did not meet Melinda, her son was there to welcome us. Our room had private bathroom, a kitchen and a balcony, which is all very convenient. The house is only a 5 minute walk from the very lively 5th avenue. Nevertheless, inside the room was a water tank that gets started during the night, and can be very noisy. If that can be fixed, then the place would be perfect.

Melinda was a great Host! The apartment was in a great location close to the beach and shopping. We enjoyed using the kitchen to cook our meals and especially enjoyed dining on our private patio balcony. The pictures do not give justice to the lovely tropical courtyard. I definitely recommend Melinda's lovely retreat.

Hello everyone dont think twice about staying at Melindas .......... her place is adorable and allthough it is in the middle of town you will be surrounded by trees and flowers and not even feel that you are a 3 minute walk from downtown.Both she and her son Dylan will treat you like family and she will be able to provide you with all sorts of information about the area ,be it the logistics of getting around and what you should'nt misss,to understanding the wonderful wild ways of the Mayan people as she has lived in Playa for over 30 years.She also is very knowledgeable about the Mayan Calender and right next door to where you will be staying she has created a beautiful space called "El Nido" where you will find everything from an incredible massage to a Tarot reading or a course on Mayan culture ! ENJOY

I'm thrilled to recommend Melinda as a reputable and wonderful, caring & talented person who delights me in her Spanglish. She is fabulous and loved by many in Playa. She will be a great host as she's lived in Playa longer than anyone else I know! We've been friends for 10 years and her space is spectacular - you will really love it.
