“Ryan is a great friend. I've known him for 15 years. I'm always hesitant to join yet another website but joined airbnb for the sole purpose of writing a reference for Ryan. I'm also well acquainted with Ryan's apartment. I've stayed there many times and even lived there for 6 months. It's got a really unique layout--one bedroom on top of the other--it looks and feels like a small lighthouse or as if you're on a boat (wood paneling). It's really close to the UC Berkeley campus and almost anywhere you'd want to go in the East Bay. Great for biking or walking. Also close to BART for traveling to SF. The Berkeley Bowl market (one of the most extensive and competitive produce sections in the lower 48) is right across the street. The apartment itself is also a great place to unwind, read a book or work on a project. I highly recommend staying there if you find yourself passing through. ”

“Melissa and Aline are great hosts and I would recommend an air b n b stay with them in a heartbeat!! Their place is peaceful - yet only a stone's throw away from the Berkeley action. I very much felt like a 3rd flatmate/ member of the family when I was there. Lots of nice memories of cosy, interesting chats and both Melissa and Aline went totally out of their way to help me (eg - organising a ride with one of their friends to get me to their place - recommending all the best ethnic eateries nearby etc).
